Observations : Part 1✨

⚠️These are my personal observations & opinions:

- Saturn in your 7th house can usually mean that all your intimate relationships are of a karmic nature & to do with past lives. Soulmate after soulmate… there’s always a sense of fate.

- I believe Pluto is a feminine planet in a masculine energy.. much of what happens to a wounded female when she is in survival mode. Yes , Pluto is represented my a male God, but intuitively I believe there is something deeply feminine about Pluto. Astronomers have discovered that Pluto has a HEART. Cold seeming on the outside but very deeply passionate on the inside.

Gen Z has Pluto in the libertine sign of Sagittarius, it makes such sense that this generation is so obsessed with freedom and so obsessed with rebelling against the norm to gain said freedom. Also using knowledge as a weapon to gain freedom…

Scorpio Risings have deep rooted trust issues. They most likely don’t trust you even if they said they do. If a scorpio rising insults you and loves you in the same breath, it means they’re comfortable with you and they like you to a certain degree, consider yourself lucky.

Capricorn Sun/Risings are so tight pocketed…

Shadow side of Virgo; Virgos are probably one of the most judgemental signs. They criticise as a way to make themselves feel better and superior, and also as a way to keep distance and detach themselves. (They’re still probably right though😅)

Aquarius Venus men can display high signs of disinterest in people but rather display more interest in things.. especially knowledge. They give off a very asexual vibe, kind of like Isaac Newton vibe.

Cancer sun people are easily taken advantage of in ways they don’t realise because their ego relies so much on the validation of other people.

If a man with Venus in Scorpio is not interested in you, you will know, because he is not obsessed with you.

Virgos are one of the signs that care most about people yet that gets overlooked because they don’t like taking credit, and their pride can give off the wrong impression as if they don’t care due to their sharp tongue; yet they do care because they take care of the little details or they show love in more action oriented ways.

If a Virgo starts talking about how much they do it’s because they’re tired of lack of appreciation and reciprocation.

Taurus in 6th house will make you obsessed with improving your looks, especially your body. It will also make you want to improve your eating habits.

Geminis will really just say anything on their mind, sometimes knowing it will hurt you, just because they like to see the look on your face. It brings them amusement to have the upper hand because it plays on their ego to be “intellectually superior”.

There can be very strong alternation of like and dislike between Scorpio Rising and Scorpio Sun individuals.. always some kind of tension.

I’ve noticed Pisces Sun men tend to easily give into addictions and escapism, and often use spirituality as an excuse to stay in their head. They have a lot of willpower; yet they get distracted by the need to avoid their trauma and suppress their emotions through their addictions . They have a lot of potential.

Cancer men tend to be very sensitive and have fragile egos, quite reactive too if you brush them the wrong way.

Libras can be very fake but also extremely caring and nurturing.

Virgo men… can be quite messy and poor with hygiene.

If a Gemini cares about you, you’re in their pile of “special” people because 9 times out of 10 they don’t give a fffffff.

Scorpio in sun or rising will often have bird like or vampiric features.

There is something very tender about a Scorpio man, even when he is honest with his darkness, you can still sense a sweetness and sensitivity in them. They’re the kind of guys you want to help and think you can change, until they prove you wrong because they self sabotage so that you don’t like them…

It was a normal publicity stunt and charity event until it stopped being one. Trust Ye Xiu to always derail the Alliance's plans, but this time no one could blame him, or Han Wenqing, for that matter. Who would expect them to be so good with kids?

Trying New Things 2: Electric Bugaloo!

Though it's not my first time making a quarto size book, it's my first sewn board binding and my first breakaway spine. Will not be my last. (I'm fact, as I'm writing this I've already bound another QZGS fic using this method!)

Much like Coptic, the sewn board binding technique bypasses the exact things I dread about making a case bound book: making the cover and casing in. Haven't gotten the hang of spines or hinges yet. Or pasting down the endpapers when casing in. (Art imitating life: my books aren't straight and neither am I lol)

Drumming things on (use of minimal glue, only on edges where necessary) is a lot less stressful and means there is less moisture to worry about. However I have my doubts about the structural integrity and longevity of sewn board binding when compared to case binding. With minimal glueing there's less holding it together, and the particular method of covering the boards means that they're partially exposed, in all their onion-y glory (by which I mean 🧅layers✨).

Onto the design:

The endpapers are an image of Glory's heavenly domain, acquired from The King's Avatar Wikia (I just cropped out the pro teams' logos, then resized and cropped to fit.)

The covers were designed as one image so that the contents will flow and connect from one cover to the other.

A major theme of this story, I felt, was connection: the kids are meeting their heroes; HWQ and YX stun everyone by connecting so well with the kids, playing with them, encouraging them, and inspiring them; YX opens up about his backstory and reveals a similar dream to a kid; that same kid going on to become a pro with New Excellent Era.

To pull some quotes from the story: "Everything started with a dream between friends… but now that dream will end with a legacy", "after all, you're never going to be walking alone. Glory has never been mean to be played alone", YX "[continued] inspiring new generations of gamers long after he had retired."

Following that theme of connection, the controllers on the covers are physically connected with a pinkish-red wire. For that I went with a red string of fate, thinking along the lines of fate and a love of Glory. The wire is also in the shape of a cancer awareness ribbon on the front cover (hence why the red is skewed pink).

The black and white controllers are like Player 1 & 2, and they're connected. To each other, to Glory.

I traced the gamepad icon with the pen tool in Affinity Designer, creating filled in curves of each component, for ease of recolouring and resizing without losing quality.

An equalizer background image, stretched and with low opacity, adds texture to the cover. It also reminded me of pixels from holograms. (The idea of the pros and kids' game playing out on stage with massive holograms really stuck with me).

I also wanted to directly reference Make-a-Wish in the cover design, so I looked up which font they use in the logo/branding. Search results turned up Georgia being used in relation to the brand, so I exclusively used that font on the covers. And added a little star above the 'i' in 'with', like in 'Wish' for the Make-a-Wish logo.

I wish allstars had brought up more of how goddamn bonkers ROTI was compared to most of the original three seasons aside from just a couple mentions. After the fucked up mutant stuff the second gen cast dealt with I want them to be sorta like semi-feral cats compared to the OG cast. Gen 1 rolls up expecting to have the benefit of time and experience compared to these weenie newbies but then when they look over Jo is running around on all fours and ripping a bear's throat out with her teeth because that was how they dealt with the radioactive mutant ones and Cameron and Zoey are rummaging through the garbage like little freak raccoons looking for any food that isn't glowing because last season that meant there was a slightly smaller chance of it giving you six different kinds of cancer all at once. Scott accidentally get stabbed and he's just mildly annoyed because after getting mauled to near-death by a mutant shark most of his nerves are dead and he no longer fears god unless god is also a shark. Sierra probably fits right in though

What is your opinion of Walt Disney?

Okay I will warn you this will be a bit long

Walt Disney is an inspiration flat out no matter what you say he is an inspiration to me, I come from humble rural backgrounds just 3 hours away from me lays Chicago where the Disney Family built a house and was starting a life before Elias Disney Walt's father moved them to Mississippi

There's a reason Kansas City claims to be Home of the Mouse because that's where Walt did a lot of blue collar work, from working in ad companies to working in the newspapers while he taught himself how to draw and eventually yes how to animate

You know how he first made his projectors at home with one of those really old-fashioned cameras. I am talking 1920s camera a sheet and some technical know-how,

Laugh-o-gram Studios had just gone up and that's what caused them to move to California, they weren't known, they did not have a penny to their name, they were just some Mississippi Chicago boys with a wish and a dream,

And from a shed in the backyard of Walt and Roy's Aunt and Uncle, the Disney Company would be founded and to go from that shed to the absolute massive company we see now

That only happened due in part because of Walt and yes Roy I will always give Roy just as much credit as his brother because he's much like Oswald quite forgotten in this story

Walt was a man ahead of his time, the original Dreamer no matter who laughed jeered ect he kept pushing the boundaries of what people thought Animation could do,

That is not to say he was perfect ohhh no he was definitely human, he had problems sharing he was known for being unbelievably stubborn on certain things, extremely old fashioned in views (He was Lost Gen After all being born in 1901)

1941 he traumatized himself horribly by ostracizing his crew who wanted to form a union, it lead to Walt getting into an actual brawl out front of the Disney Studios with one of his inner circle as they called it, leading to that one leaving with several others it broke his trust badly, and even worse

It took his passion for Animation away from him

A majority of projects in the 40s, 50s and '60s up until his death weren't really headed by him, sure he was involved in certain aspects but a majority of the times it was somebody else in the Studio that was the main overseer of those movies.

It really is sad because Jungle Book which was released in 1967 gave him his passion for animation back he was actually enjoying himself and had a few projects in mind, just as the cancer unfortunately struck and took him not even 2 months later on Dec 15th 1966,

When people say Walt Disney had so much unfinished business, they aren't lying. He was an imperfect human who believed in Family, Wishes,Dreams and seeing the Wonder in everything,that everything had a possibility to be great,

Did you know Characters in the parks aren't supposed to let go in a hug until the child does because Walt said

When a child hugs you, you don't let go first. Let them let go when they're ready because you never know how much they may need that hug in their life.

He was not perfect. However, he was a prime example of not giving up despite adversity, caring for Families instead of the Profits, Lord knows he danced the edge with bankruptcy multiple times fun fact The Three Caballeros helped save the company in the 40s after Fantasias fantastic flop, the government paid Disney to produce that package film and thats what kept them from going completely under, also thank Disney for your Surround Sound because Fantasia is the first 1. There is a reason some do say Disney is the prime example of the American Dream realized.

Because that's all Walt Roy and Ub had when they walked into Hollywood in the 1920s and founded a company that would become known around the World eventually with a Mouse who's name would come to be known by almost every child.

Traduction française de Fear & Hunger 2 - Termina - #2

Comme prévu, nouvel update sur la traduction française de F&H2. Ça avance lentement mais sûrement, en espérant que je puisse la sortir avant la prochaine MAJ du jeu. Haha.

Traduction faite durant le mois :

Les objets : les noms et descriptions des objets, de la nourriture, des objets de soin, des livres et les morceaux de gens ou d'animaux ou d'autres bestioles pas protégées par la SPA.

Les noms des ennemis et de leurs membres.

L'extérieur du train. Comprends la discussion du début de jeu, ainsi que les discussions de hub.

Première rencontre avec Per'kele.

Maison de l'homme des bois. Avec le sous-sol.

Une partie de la vieille ville, qui correspond à la zone du soldat 1, de l'extérieur du manoir du maire et Karin à l'entrée de la maison.

Il y a quelques points que je veux particulièrement remonter. Par justification de traduction, d'appel à l'aide, ou parce que c'est particulièrement intéressant.

Les ennemis

La majorité vont être traduit : Villageois/Villageoise, Fusilier, Homme-Pillier, Vieille aux rats, Dance Mécanique, Clébard Fétide, Cocon Imparfait, Lunette Chialeuse...

J'en profite du coup pour proposer la traduction de Moonscorch, qui serait du coup Flambelune. Cela donnera le cancer de la Flambelune, et un Flambeluné.

J'hésite grandement à traduire les nom Needles et Stitches, qui pourrait être traduit par Seringues et Soutures, mais ça ne sonne pas top. Mais ça fait flic de laisser des nom en anglais dans une trad française.

En parlant de flic, je comptais traduire Bobby par Flic/Flicaillon/Poulet, mais ça enlèverai le contexte du nom. En Angleterre, bobby est un mot familier pour désigner les policiers londoniens, avec leur casque bombé. Vu le design de l'ennemi dans le jeu, le nom restera.

Par contre, Bellend sera traduit par Gland. C'est très important.

Avis à la population, mais surtout aux experts : pour l’ennemi Sew Job, le mot existe bien en anglais, mais je ne trouve pas d'équivalent en français. Point général, car il concerne tout le texte, mais j'ai dû bidouiller un peu pour garder le texte le plus neutralement genré possible.

3. Extérieur du train

La manière dont est fait le jeu, chaque zone comprend tous les dialogues et textes possible dedans, que ce soit les Party Talk, les diagnostiques médicaux, les discussions avec les NPC, lorsqu'on fouille dans des objets... En même temps, des textes se répètent entre chaque zone, alors qu'ils devrait être dans l'onglet Common Events... Après, ce sont des textes que je ne traduit qu'une fois, puis je les recopie dans les autres zones. Je n'aurai pas à les retraduire et ça m'avancera le travail.

Cette partie là a été longue à traduire, car elle comprend à la fois la discussion du début de jeu (et les alternatives selon le personnage qu'incarne le joueur), mais aussi toutes les discussion de hub (Marcoh et Tanaka qui boxe, Olivia qui creuse la terre, Henryk qui fait sa popotte dehors, Daan qui clope). Il y a d'autres zones comme ça, qui sont pas mal chargée de texte, comme l'intérieur du train, le bar jazz, et l'intro des personnage.

Pas mal de dialogue sont des ref à d'autres média, comme par exemple la référence à Jimmy Buffet quand on demande un coup à boire à Daan au bar (je reviendrai sur celui-là plus tard). Là, lorsqu'on essaye de l'embrigader dans notre groupe alors qu'il est au complet, il refuse en disant qu'il sera juste un "party poison". Je n'ai pas réussi à trouver si c'était une expression idiomatique ou bien une référence. La seule référence que j'ai trouvé, c'est un titre de MCR (qui est nul à chier imo). Du coup, dans le contexte, je pense qu'il voulais dire "plombeur d'ambiance".

Les "Bremen pigs" de Karin. On n'a pas l'air, en français, d'avoir un équivalent de l'insulte "pigs", sauf dans le cas de la police, où c'est poulet. Du coup, Karin dira dans la traduction "chiens de Bremen" ou "chiens brêmois", qui gardent le côté insultant et la comparaison aux animaux.

Je crois avoir bien passé en revu sur quoi j'ai taffé ce mois-ci. Avec les vacances de Noël, je devrais pouvoir mieux travailler dessus et bien avancer.

The higher ups brought Owen down Texas because he is a white straight man and thinking he is a dom to add diversity, but is actually a sub. He is pretending to be a dom while he is actually a sub to keep his job and taken seriously in the intense kind of work, along with dealing with cancer and taking care of his son after relapsing.

Owen Strand is many things. He is age forty-nine and member of gen x. He is a firefighter. He is Father. He is an ex-husband. He is a 9/11 survivor. He is the fire captain of the 252 stations in New York City. He is a bit of a playboy and gets around. He falls hard and fast. He is still in love with his ex-wife Gwyneth Morgan. He is a repressor of his emotions and needs. He is an ex-Californian. He is a New Yorker. He is a hero but even heroes fall and reach a breaking point.

The Strand and Morgan families are sometimes too open for their own good but too closed off for their own good as well. Owen and Gwyn are strong resilient people. They met, fell in love, got married, had their baby boy. They were man and woman, husband and wife, firefighter and lawyer, father and mother, sub and dom. They were not enough for each other. Now they are nearing their fifties and Owen never got over her and became self-destructive.

Now is moving himself and his twenty-five-year-old kid to Austin, Texas for a fresh start. When he was first offered being captain to rebuild a firehouse 118 after tragically losing ninety eight percent of their people, he turned it down. He did not want step in on a grieving town, he knows what is like. He did not want to move to the south, New York was his home. He has been in New York since he was thirteen years old. His family is here. His kid is here and does not want to be far away from him. The south in known as being more dynamist in terms of behaviors and laws and he did not want to deal with being discrimination for being a sub fire captain or just being a sub in the south or having to hide and lie about part of who he is. They brought him in to bring in diversity because he is a straight white man, they do not want it to be too diverse and assumed Owen was a dom.

But then Owen got diagnosed with lung cancer and his 9/11 ptsd was getting worse and his kid Tk relapsed after his failed proposal to Alex, his now ex-boyfriend and borderline abusive dom. Alex left him and was cheating on him for a year. They want to stop being reminded of their pain.

cole’s ex: a girl cole used to date in high school before he met jubilee and who is now a model. her name is gia. jubilee gets extremely jealous of gia when she sees cole interacting with her. so jealous in fact that she goes on kidder and bashes her for appearance basically no good reason.

beauty pageants: erin grew up being in multiple beauty pageants. though she never won any. her standards of beauty was shaped through her experience as a pageant girl…

camila: erin and emil’s cousin from their dad side. she’s not very nice to her cousins (nor her parents, uncle, aunt, and grandparents, for that matter) but she still expects them to be there for her when she “needs” it

erased lesbianism: referring to erin getting the lesbian card revoked

yoohoo bunny: a little white bunny mascot that can be found as toys, clothes, bags, pillows, and so much more. emil and bambi love yoohoo bunny

prom queen 2013: the year erin (gasp) won prom queen. she brags about it anytime she gets

swine: the nickname buggie gave her groomer, monty swineson. a very abusive and controlling man. treated buggie like dirt while trying to convince her that he was the only person who cared for her. overall scum!

papaya fields: think of a site with a fruit in the name and targets trans people. this is the beauty version of that and you can bet your ass they have a dedicated page on emil somewhere

lost music: the earliest music emil and neo made together is completely lost and the idea of it ever being found is very slim

jivin: an editor for indiefools and emil’s future (like very distant future) boyfriend

motorg!rl: an online alias created by neo where he can pretend to be a cute anime girl producing music. he has a league of devoted fans who have no clue who is actually behind the music. if you looked his persona on google images you will get…interested results

jubilee gets drugged: there’s a moment during 2017 mybeauty where they all go drinking and jubilee (who never drank a day in her life and lowkey got pressured by cole to do it) gets drugged. she falsely accuses cole of doing it out of paranoia

drunk meltdown in france: neo gets REALLY fucked up in france + has a fight with dondre and ends up going live on the motorg!rl channel. he reveals his identity and calls all his fans “gross porn addicts”. he then cries for the rest of the live until passing out with the camera still on. this destroyed his online persona immediately

“i wish i was born a girl” truth or dare: one night the gang is all together hanging out playing truth or dare (but like the one that is a physical game where you get like a truth or dare prompt on the card) and buggie gets a truth card directed at neo that reads “what is your biggest hot take” and everyone is expecting neo to say something silly but neo is already pissed at buggie for something earlierso he hits them with “i wish i was born a girl.” which causes everyone to go “….🥚?” but then neo goes on about how being a woman is easier than being a man and how women don’t seem to understand the privilege they have above guys. it’s basically him generalizing the experience of all women and comparing it to his unique experience as a man and most of it was just neo being bitchy about something buggie said earlier. tldr neo has a misogyny moment because a clown girl pissed him off.

jubilee’s doppleganger friend group: jubilee has a seperate group of friends that can basically be described as off brand mybeauty. their names are emiliano (mili), neya, aaron, and chelsea (cricket). mybeauty meets them and finds them to be very…offputting

medical abuse: referring to medical abuse both neo and emil faced. mainly involving mental health services.

why cole’s dad is in prison (csa tw): he made cp. he would sell stuff with other kids but never uploaded or shared anything with cole included, however, he did take gross pictures without cole’s knowledge back when he had custody. the police raided his house when cole admitted to his 3rd grade teacher that his dad assaulted him just a day prior. cole’s dad also abused his older sister judy before abandoning her, cece, and his ex-wife, but he never laid a finger on cece. cece feels guilt about it constantly

dondre’s mom cause of death: murdered by his abusive stepdad. in a blind rage dondre grabbed his stepdad’s gun and shot him too. thankfully, he wasnt sentenced/charged due to it being deemed self defense. the memory of that day haunts him forever.

charlene is anti vax:

emil sex tape: i think the name makes it sound like he and neo made a sex tape kim k style but it refers to when emil used to make porn while he was homeless because he had no other form of income. a lot of people found these videos years later and used it to harrass him

neo dated his music teacher (csa/grooming): neo would call it dating but i personalllllyyyyyyyy would just call it grooming. he started doing things with his music teacher after school (some sexual some not) in exchange for good grades (he would’ve been a A+ student in that class without it but his teacher tricked him into thinking that he would fail if they weren’t together). their relationship offically ended when the teacher got fired for something completely unrelated. to this day neo refuses to see it as grooming since he wasn’t “forced” into anything. neo look at me you are a VICTIM.
