Experiments
T h e B e g i n n i n g
There I was, sitting in a white cell listening to water droplets. To which will cause me insanity. No, I wasn't in prison. I was in a facility surrounded by white walls and tiled white floors. Every two days, they check up on me to see where my progress is at, and like every two days, I'm given a new color to tell the fellow "Caretakers" my danger level. However, this time was different. I was given a cellmate. He was rather aggressive and didn't have a color. He must be new.
The caretakers had chained his arms and mouth, in hopes to get him in without any hassle. But it seems it didn't succeed. He was still able to fight back, even with restraints. Thankfully for the other caretakers, another caretaker arrived with a stick and nudged him into the cell. But he was quick and charged at them with the claws on his feet. Then suddenly, the door was closed, and laughter and scoffs could be heard behind it. The boy hit the door, then took a step back and turned to me. He growled, slowly walking towards me, looking for any signs of fear. But he found none. Instead, he smelled confusion from his own being. I stared at him blankly through my mask, then got up and walked to the window.
The caretakers were long gone, and only boot prints to show for it. I turned to my cellmate and asked him what section he came from. But he only sat there and tilted his head to the side. I scoffed at his behavior, then looked outside the window to study the clock.
"1:15."
In 15 minutes, we'll be released for recess. That should give me enough time to analyze the interior of this place. I clapped my hands, grabbing the attention of my cellmate. He stared at me and then turned his attention back to the door. Maybe he knows we're getting out.
I walked over to him and sat down beside him. He then growled at me, so I placed my hand on his face and shoved him away. He whimpered a bit, then quickly went back to snarling.
I stared at the door, counting the seconds before we were released. My cellmate, however, had different plans. He was waiting for one of the caretakers to come back so he could attack him the moment they let him free from his restraints. In about 5 minutes, the door opened, and I walked around the facility, memorizing the interior. But without noticing, my cellmate has been following me still in his restraints. I felt something nudging my back, and I heard a soft whine. My eyes shifted to look at what was behind me, and to my surprise, a spikey-haired, wolf eared boy was behind me. This smelly delinquent has been following me? He tried ripping off the mask that covered his mouth but failed every time. I looked at him and said,
"Alright, let's get these off you."
His tail then began to wag when he saw my hand reaching closer to his face, slowly peeling off each layer of his mask. Minutes went by and some of his layers were refusing to come off. Like they were tangled into each other. The boy then released a grunt realizing his mask wasn't going to come off as soon as he thought.
"Sorry, it won't budge. Maybe you should just wait for a caretaker." I said, as my hands slipped away from him as I turned around to continue my analyzing. I need to make it out of here before they send me to a new location.
"Ugh!"
Something tripped me. Something fleshy. The sounds of growling then confirmed my suspicion. It was the wolf eared boy again. His nails scratched the gray floor, denting it with little claw marks. He was trying to intimidate me.
I quickly sat up, turning my head seeing him looming above me. He looked pissed. Like someone just scratched up his car.
"I told you to talk to the other caretakers." I said, getting back up. But he didn't take no for an answer and tried attacking me. Swinging his feet in the air. I swiftly blocked it with my arm, grabbing ahold of his ankle. My foot sweeped the ground knocking into his. The only thing stopping him from falling was me. Yet, he looked nothing but dissatisfied. He wanted to win, and judging by the look in his eyes he was determined.
He then decided to pull out his final card and head bunk me which didn't turn out so well. As he tried to bunk me, I punched his kneecap out of place rendering him wounded. Thankfully for him it went back into place. Next time I won't be so merciful.
I let him go then walked back to our cell waiting for the caretakers to come back to escort us to lunch. As expected, I arrived first, as always. Waiting for my cellmates to arrive soon. But that wasn't going to be for another 30 minutes. For now, I need to plant false evidence.
"Well look who it is, C007. What brings you back so early?" a woman said, walking up to the cell door. However, I didn't say anything. I need to appear idiotic.
"Mm, not much of a talking type, are you?" she sighed, crouching down to the floor so we could see eye to eye. "Well, no matter, I can do the talking. After all, I heard it calms you down." That was a lie, it does the exact opposite. But she knows, she just wants to get a reaction out of me. Like everyone else.
"Mm, well I've heard you've been getting better with your powers, good for you!" She smiled, perking up and leaned her head the other way. She was fascinated by me, it was creepy. And to top it off this very woman was the same one who kidnapped me, watched me suffer, and had the audacity to talk to me as one of her friends. Disgusting.
"As you may know, we've been watching you for a long time. A very long time. And we've noticed you've been wandering around the facility. Basically, I'm here to ask you to stop before something bad happens. Mkay?" She ruffled my hair, slowly getting up and opening the door, then walked away. This was a warning.
A warning from a psycho.
I walked into the cell grazing my hand on the white wall, while looking outside the cell window for anything interesting going on. However, there was nothing but a clock and empty cells. This was how it usually was at recess inside the cell hall, empty and quiet. But when kids came back it was loud, full of screams of joy or fear, never in between. Before they come back though they would play in room Y1-0. The Playroom the Caretakers call it. And within the room there are balls of multiple colors, slides, swings, seesaws, fake grass, toys, and best of all Cameras. One of the things I despise the most.
While kids are playing with other kids, they'll check to see how kids play and how they communicate. If a kid has good grammar or "education" they'll send them to a facility that will provide them tools to flourish. Of Course, however, it also depends on two other factors: the powers the kids have and their danger level. But that's a story for another time.
"Alright, you little worm. Get in the cell." The caretaker said, shoving him in the cell.
"Oh, you're back. How's your knee?" I said, looking at his now wrapped up knee. His restraints were gone, and he was given proper cell clothes: a long white shirt with a white pants. The caretaker had now shut the door behind my cellmate, careful not to slam it on his tail.
He was clearly still mad at me as he walked his way to the corner of the cell. Slowly limping and wobbling, leaning on the wall for support. I kind of felt bad, even though he attacked me first. My cellmate then slowly slid down the wall while grabbing his neck as he did. They must have done something to him. Once he was situated, he let out a loud grunt, feeling relief.
At least I can be sure he won't touch me for a while.
10 minutes later a loudspeaker blared out a message.
"All caretakers go to your assigned duty post. Protocol A15."
It was time for lunch.

Read New Story!!
There was a time when mythical creatures had roamed the earth. When they ruled the land and lived in harmony with each other and the humans. However, when all the creatures began to fight over differences, things began to change. The creatures began to repress their abilities or get rid of them all together. Come modern day times, creatures of old were considered humans with special characteristics that made them stand out. There was nothing special about the world, but somehow there was still something magical.
Lucero 'Luz' Molina was just trying to finish university to become a psychiatrist. Meeting the eldest Prince of Odacia was not on her agenda nor was making a deal with him.
She decided to leave her family and move to the capital hoping things would be easy, with the prince saying she wasn't a prisoner in his home. But then again going into the home of a long ago descended vampire family wasn't going to be easy.
Maybe to the Dracon family, dealing with someone who wanted them dead was the norm. But there is a lot more to the story than someone wanting to over throw the royal family. A much larger threat hiding behind false smiles.
