In Honor of Valentine's Day, Here's what your KNY ship says about you!

Canon

You are the Democratic-Republicans of the fandom. Hehe APUSH people get that comparison. Basically you believe in strict adherence to canon ships, and anything else is sacrilege or nonsensical. While most of your ships are popular anyway, a common stereotype is that if you only ship canon ships, you are either boring and uncreative at best, or homophobic at worst, a stigma definitely perpetuated by a vocal minority. 

TanKana: You guys like fluff and vanilla ships, and choose to believe Tanjiro lived a long healthy life. 

ZennNezu: You are a profound Zenitsu apologist and wished you saw more of their dynamic post-Nezuko cure. 

InoAoi: You guys are just vibing.

ObaMitsu: You are the majority of the fandom. You constantly praise the ship and its writing, fanart, and headcanons, sometimes spreading the hugging myth. You might also reply to any contradicting ships who are jealous Obanai memes or ask “what about Mitsuri/Obanai”, making a lot of enemies. 

Uzuis: There’s a chance that you really like their loving relationship and polyamory representation, but most of the time you’re a gooner or a Tengen glazer.

Kagaya x Amane: You like domestic ships

HakujixKoyuki: You crave this backstory to be adapted and love the cotton candy colors. Might spoil Akaza hating anime-onlies and are probably an Akaza apologist. Any other Akaza ship is sacrilege unless Akaza and Hakuji are separate characters.

TamaYush: You like doomed romances. And will probably be a Yushiro apologist. You are one of the most obscure and least popular of the canon ships

YoriiUta: A combination of TamayYush and TanKana. You both like fluffy romance with a husband that LOVES HIS WIFE and doomed romances. 

ShinRuka: You are probably a Shinjuro apologist and love husbands who are head over heels for their wives. Also a fan of doomed romance.

Humans

SaneKana: You’re in a weird limbo where you have basis and teasing, but too little actual interaction to be considered “canon”. Also Kanae’s dead. You also probably love doomed romances and opposites attract dynamics. You might act like SaneKane is indeed canon but quickly be shut down by others. 

SaneGiyu: You love yaoi and especially love the enemies-to-lovers trope. You’re probably at war with the Kocho sibling shippers and face a lot of “but they hate each other” backlash. Green and blue are your favorite colors. However, there’s a decent chance you make the ship heteronormative by feminizing Giyu and making Sanemi more masculine.

GiyuShino: 2019-2020 was the best period of the fandom for you. You hate Doma. You also probably annoyed conflicting shippers in the past and spread the “Shinobu told everyone about her plan except Giyu” myth but are now the underdog because of the ship’s waning popularity. 

Platonic GiyuShino: You're definitely in the minority and probably resent being overshadowed by the romantic shippers, especially the normies who assume they are a couple because of all the fanart.  

SenjuroxNezuko, KanaoxNezuko, MuichiroxNezuko: You think Zenitsu is way too annoying and possessive for Nezuko and she deserves someone with less personal flaws, even if they barely or never interact. You might sometimes exaggerate Zenitsu’s negative traits in fanworks.

ShinoMitsu: You are a lesbian or a wlw lover, and obsessed with the minor but close relationship. Edits and fanart galore. At war with ObaMitsu and ShinoGiyu fans.

GenMui: You like the Swordsmith Village arc and the Kokushibo fight. Screaming shaking crying at Chapter 179. 

GenTan: SaneGiyu Jr but with less intensity and vitriol on the Shinazugawa’s part. Screaming shaking crying at Chapter 180. 

MuiTan: You REALLY like the SSV arc and now like the Hashira Traning arc’s anime adaption. You squee anything Muichiro does a 180 and smiles at Tanjiro. Screaming shaking crying at Chapter 180.  

TanZen: You think Zenitsu has more chemistry with the other Kamado and will latch on to him being all bashful towards Tanjiro.

InoTan: You probably like the Tarzan x Jane dynamic but gay, and latch on to Tanjiro calling Inosuke attractive.

KyoTen: You are a believer of the manliest of gay ships, and you also appreciate Tengen being explicitly inspired by Kyojuro.

Uzuis x Giyu: You latch on to that one panel where Giyu is at a hot spring with Tengen and his wives and want Giyu to be sandwiched between three sexy women and one sexy man.

GenKanao: SaneKana Jr. You like opposite-attracting pairs and probably ship Tanjiro with one of the other main 3 boys. No hard feelings. 

SabiGiyu: Again, doomed romance and cry at Giyu’s backstory every time. You hate the age gap in Kimetsu Gakuen! though.

YoriiTama: You are fascinated by their first and only interaction and believe they both deserve a second chance at love.

Sabito x Makomo: You are the stereotypical shipper with low standards so two characters friendly towards each other count as a ship, but hetero this time.

MuraGoto: You love irrelevant bitches that no one seriously cares about.

Human x Demon

ShinobuXTamayo: Also a lesbian or a wlw lover, and love the color purple. You’d think you’d be at war with Yushiro shippers but you’re so obscure you barely interact. 

RenKaza: You crave messy, toxic, one-sided hatred one-sided crush, killerxvictim, villainxhero dynamics and latch onto Akaza’s borderline homoerotic reactions to Kyojuro’s strength. Will definitely mischaracterize one of them, probably Kyojuro.

DouShino: Ditto but emphasis on all the adjectives. You are greater in number because of there actually being a canon basis. You get a bum rap, likely because the victim in the killerxvictim dynamic is a woman, but continue making fan art of them. You keep Shinobu’s hatred because that’s endearing to you.

DoTaha: You fully believe Doma loved Kotoha and that he’s Inosuke’s stepdad, and that all would’ve been great if Doma wasn’t a demon. Also get a bum rap because of the killerxvictim dynamic with the victim being a woman. 

KibuRei: You are a believer in what TV Tropes calls Draco In Leather Pants. In your books, Muzan is loving his role as the family man and he and Rei actually have a thing. As for the daughter, it’s split on whether or not you think she’s Muzan’s or Rei’s ex-husband that Muzan killed, but either way, he cares about her as much as he does Rui. You choose to ignore Muzan abandoning them for his life as Toshikuni, but if you have to acknowledge it, he’s either living a TRIPLE life or he simply left without killing either of them.

MichikatsuxHis Wife: You probably romanticize Michikatsu as a family man a little too much, but unlike Kibureis, you get a worse rap because Michi explicitly abandoned her.

KanUme: You read the Gakuen! Chapter where they become coworkers and friends.

Demons

DouKaza: You want RenKaza but without the questionable killerxvictim stuff and with Akaza as the hater instead of the lover. Also probably like enemies to lovers or more specifically the FoeYay dynamic

KokuDoma: Ditto but with less animosity on Kokushibo’s side. They are the Odd Couple but demons.

KokuNaki: You probably like couples who match each other’s personalities, in their case: stone-cold bitches.

EnmuxMuzan, EnmuxDoma, EnmuxGyokko: You think Enmu is gay and either want to ship him with the person he’s gayest towards, or demons who match his freak.

KokuMuzan: Idk, you’re the type to ship the big bad with their second-in-command, because they’re one of the few people they actually hold with respect.

GyoHan: You’re either shipping the ugly demons as a haha gag, or you are an unashamed freak.

I started rereading the KNY manga (for the thousandth time) and decided to write some curious facts that I have in my AU.

Warning: There are some ships that I like, if you don't like them, don't read and avoid having a bad time. And if there are any questions, I will answer them. Or in case there is some information that you like and that I also like, I can add it

Ships:

1. SaneGiyuu (Sanemi Shinazugawa x Giyuu Tomioka)

2. ObaMitsu (Iguro Obanai x Mitsuri Kanroji)

3. GenMui (Genya Shinazugawa x Muichiro Tokito)

4. UzuRen x Uzui's wiwes (Uzui Tengen x Kyojuro Rengoku - Uzui x Suma x Makio x Hinatsuru)

5. ZenNezu (Zenitsu Agatsuma x Nezuko Kamado)

6. TanKana (Tanjiro Kamado x Kanao Tsuyuri)

7. InoAoi (Inosuke Hashibira x Aoi Kanzaki)

8. KagaMane (Kagaya x Amane Ubuyashiki)

Before the Final Battle:

1. After Nezuko was accepted by Oyakata-Sama, Giyuu took in both siblings and let them stay at his estate to rest or to feed them.

Some time later, Giyuu left the property to both of them as he started living with Sanemi, but he always visited them to make sure they were okay, so it didn't really seem like he and Sanemi were living together.

2. However, after Nezuko was accepted, most noticed a change in Sanemi's personality.

This was because Sanemi remembered the moment he killed his mother and a guilt came over him. He tried to think of what it would have been like for him and Genya if he had known known that it was not necessary to kill her, but he could have sought help for her.

3. Shinobu and Giyuu became close after Kanae's death as Shinobu began to exhibit strange behaviors and Giyuu noticed.

Many thought that the two were a couple, and they were, but they discovered that they got along better as friends than as boyfriends, and they remained on good terms.

After all, it was Shinobu, with the help of Uzui and Rengoku, who helped make Sanemi and Giyuu a couple.

4. Nezuko's feelings for Zenitsu began when she realized that she was part of his priority and that he stayed taking care of her after saving everyone.

In turn, Nezuko really likes how Zenitsu cares about her, in addition to enjoying his gifts and having them in her box when he is on a mission.

5. Neither Mitsuri, nor Tengen, nor Obanai accepted hearing that Rengoku had died.

When Mitsuri found out, she immediately ran to Obanai and cried for hours because she couldn't believe that her mentor had died and she wasn't able to save him.

Obanai couldn't cry, he didn't know why, but he just couldn't do it, at least when he was awake, he started crying silently when he slept.

Tengen was probably the one who accepted that the best, but his thoughts that he was going to hell increased, nor did his wives manage to console him because he seemed to remain neutral about it in front of them. He only cried in front of his grave, it was the only place where he felt comfortable crying.

6. After the red light district arc, Kanao was the one who stayed by Tanjiro's side the most during his free time, often singing to him or having Nezuko with her to make sure everything is okay.

7. Although Nezuko could speak after the Blacksmith Village Arc, she was wearing her bamboo muzzle for some time.

It was something that Nezuko gradually stopped, even though most of the time she was seen without her muzzle, when she was alone she used a cloth because she felt 'uncovered' and she didn't get used to it.

The girls from the butterfly mansion and Giyuu were the ones who helped her get out of the muzzle, as well as taught her to talk and do other activities so that she stays busy and doesn't think about it.

8. Kagaya knew that soon he would have to die, so he decided to use himself as a sacrifice.

Although he tried to persuade Amane to save herself so that she could take care of her children, Amane never left him and asked Gyomei to take care of her children for them if he survived.

9. Mitsuri cried when she learned that each person was dying, which was reflected in her fight against Nakime, and Obanai was constantly repeating to her and asking her to make an effort so that their deaths were not in vain.

10. The surviving crows informed everyone they knew of the hunters who lost their lives about who won.

Although some parents were happy, others cried, others were extremely angry with the Ubuyashiki, but they did not dare to say anything to them because they were children and because they were escorted by Uzui and Rengoku.

After the Final Battle:

1. Since most of the hashiras died, Sanemi and Giyuu agreed to become their new owners so that they would not lack food.

Except for En, Shinobu's crow, and Kaname, Rengoku's crow, who were left in the care of Kanao and Senjuro.

2. When Sanemi and Kanao met, Sanemi not only gave Kaburamaru, but also a paper with activities, tastes, meals, schedules and instructions to take care of Kaburamaru.

This paper would have been written by Obanai shortly after he became hashira, the only one who knew about this was Kaburamaru, so he was the one who showed Sanemi the hiding place so that he could give it to Kanao.

3. Tengen, Sanemi and Giyuu pay a weekly visit to their comarades and family.

This started because on a visit that Tengen and his wives made, they heard cries and found Sanemi and Giyuu crying uncontrollably, so they began to go back to back to have better emotional support at those times.

4. Although part of Shinobu/Kanae's haori was torn, Inosuke found some fabrics and kept them carefully because it was the only thing left of Shinobu for him.

Upon learning that Nezuko managed to restore Giyuu's haori, he kindly asked if she could do something with Shinobu's, and although she couldn't do much since much of the fabric was stained with blood, she managed to make a small handkerchief.

5. None of the butterfly girls (Naho, Kiyo and Sumi) know that Shinobu is not coming back.

Neither Kanao nor Aoi have the heart to tell them that she died and every time they ask about her, they respond "she's on an important trip, but she asked us to remind you that she loves you very much."

6. Shinjuro left his alcohol problem some time after Kyojuro's death, becoming the father that Senjuro and Kyojuro remembered.

He usually takes Senjuro to spend time with the Kamaboko Squad while he simply observes them, especially Senjuro.

7. When Mitsuri's parents found out about her death and what happened between her and Obanai, they themselves organized the burial for both of them.

They always go to visit them and before leaving, they leave a small plate of sakura mochi for Mitsuri, and a plate of tororo kumbo for Obanai.

8. Although the bodies of Shinobu, Genya and Tokito could never be found, they, like the others, had their place in the bush.

Genya and Muichiro's graves are together, as Sanemi kindly requested that the least he could do to honor his brother is to be buried next to the person he loved, on the other hand, Shinobu's grave is close to that of Gyomei and Kanae.

9. If you remember, the first time Sanemi meets Kagaya, after Kumeno's death, he reads the will that Masachika had left for Sanemi and they let him keep it.

Obanai and Rengoku's letter was given to Senjuro and Shinjuro, Gyomei and Shinobu's to Kanao and Aoi, Mitsuri's to their parents, Genya's to Sanemi, and Muichiro's to Giyuu.

10. Kagaya and Amane's children (Kiriya, Kuina and Kanata) were "adopted" by Sanemi and Giyuu, as they considered it inappropriate for children to grow up without a father and mother figure.

Some additional data:

1. Giyuu, Sanemi and Tanjiro will live beyond 25 years, why?

My theory is that the hunter's mark was similar to the curse of the Ubuyashiki, so when Kibutsuji was defeated, both the curse of the Ubuyashiki family and the curse of the "marked" were removed. Although Sanemi and Giyuu thought they would die when they reached 25, they were surprised that this was not the case and that made them very happy, since they were able to accompany the Ubuyashiki in their childhood and be there as their support.

2. Inosuke didn't understand his feelings, so he initially thought that he was sick or that some BDA had affected him.

Kanao explained that he was just in love and went directly to tell Aoi about what he felt and she accepted it.

3. Part of the names of Uzui's sons were based on their fallen comrades. His wives didn't care and supported him in his idea.

I'm probably not the first person to say this, but I really don't understand all the hate Genmui receives. It isn't illegal, they aren't related, nor are they toxic.

The two main reasons I hear every fucking time as to why people dislike this ship are that :

A. They're too young

B. They only ever interacted once

Addressing the first part, that being that they aren't of age to be dating. That's false. Most teenagers begin relationships (although not long lasting) as, well, teens. Additionally, Genya (16) and Muichiro (14) share the same 2 year age gap as Zenezu (Zenitsu x Nezuko), an extremely popular, canon and hetero ship in the franchise.

Zenitsu (16) and Nezuko (14), do end up together after Muzan's defeat, and have kids, who then have kids, etc. However, before marriage, Zenitsu was absolutely in love with a then demon Nezuko. That's cute and all, if we just ignore the fact that Nezuko herself was turned into a demon at 12. Demon's don't age. Meaning, even if she was physically able to age herself, mentally, she is a young girl. Which, in itself, is kinda icky if you ask me.

As for the second claim, that being that they rarely had any interactions. Although in the manga it is indeed true that we don't see them talking together often, it's important to realize that Demon Slayer was a very rushed, short series. Therefore, it was very direct, and focused mostly on the plot. Aside from that, it is known that Muichiro and Genya are good friends with Tanjiro and company. It's displayed in this cute lil' manga panel :

They probably are relatively close, so it's safe to say that "behind the scenes", they hangout. Also, and not to bring up another canon HETERO ship, but Inoaoi (Inosuke x Aoi) literally have the same amount, if not less exchanges than Genmui. Heck, most people agree that them being a couple is random, no matter the adorableness. Listen, I don't want to pull the homophobia "card", but with the past two comparisons I've used, and the fact that Genmui is a gay pairing, it's difficult to say otherwise.

With that being said, I've also seen alot of people claiming that because Demon Slayer takes place during Taisho era Japan, these characters would be 100% straight, or even... homophobic. First of all, L opinion. Just because the society of that time was more openly against queer people, does not mean that they didn't exist. Many people of the lgbtq+ community back then did not ever get the chance to come out of the closet.

Second of all, the Demon Slayer Corps is known to be accepting of all people. You can't expect to maintain a secret military-like organization if you're too picky on who's joining. The most prominent and talked about example is Mitsuri Kanroji, who was praised by Kagaya for her incredible strength, which was deemed weird by society for a woman. As a Demon Slayer, you're basically reduced to a human sacrifice, ready to give up your life on a whim. Who the fuck really cares about what gender you wanna make out with?

Anyways, to conclude, Genmui is an overhated ship <3 If you really dislike it that much, you can sit in the corner and be miserable.

✨My opinions on KNY ships✨

This is something no one asked for but anyways. (This included platonic and romantic ships, and I'm a multishipper) No hate please on some of my opinions and only the ships that I know will be mentioned and NO adult x minor or sibling x sibling.

Uzuren (Tengen x Kyojuro): I love these two as either platonic or romantic, I wrote a fanfic about these two that is over 80k words so it hold a special place in my heart. This ship was also the reason I got into demon slayer. (Yes I am aware of Tengen having three wives but their dynamic was appealing)

Obamitsu (Obanai x Mitsuri): I think these two are really nice. When I first started demon slayer I didn't hold strong opinions on them but I think they're very cute now and their ending was heart breaking😭

AmaKaga (Amane x Kagaya): I love these two, they're my favourite canon couple in the series and I'm so upset that they died but at least they died together and for a greater cause.

AoIno (Aoi x Inosuke): This ship seemed to come up out of nowhere for me, like they interact and some of it's funny but would've never seen these two as a couple. It's a ship I'm meh on.

Butterfly girls (platonic, Kanae, Shinobu, Kanao, Aoi): I love the found family bond they have and I want to know more about Kanae but over all any pairing out of these four is only seen as platonic for me.

ObaSane (Obanai & Sanemi): honestly these two just seem like friends to me, like two bestie that like to talk shit about others. I know these two gossip when they get the chance and they definitely talk shit about Giyuu.

RenGiyuu (Rengoku & Giyuu): I like their dynamic of being opposites, it's appealing to me but tend to see them more as friends than anything but still a decent ship.

RenMistu (Rengoku & Mitsuri): Love the sibling bond they have but not really into them being romantic with each other.

Rengoku x Obanai: I don't have mush thoughts on this, it's meh to me.

RenKaza (Rengoku & Akaza): I used to like this ship but now I find it really weird like I'm pretty sure Rengoku hates Akaza and Akaza literally killed Rengoku, so it's a no for me.

RenSane (Rengoku & Sanemi): When Rengoku was my favourite character (he's still in my top five) I shipped him with a lot of characters so that included this ship. I personally don't see now, looking back on it.

GenMui (Genya & Muichirou): I honestly have no idea how I got into this ship, for me I ship Genya and Muichirou romantically and platonically. They're both my favourite characters and I like their personalities and possibly the height difference and their fighting style and strength. I could go on and on, I like these two :) (please don't come after me because these two don't have many interactions)

TanKana (Tanjiro x Kanao): It's cute I think this is one of the few ships I like with Tanjiro, I don't know it sits better with me than some other ships.

MuiTan (Muichirou x Tanjiro): I can see where some people are coming from, Tanjiro is a very shippable character but personally I don't ship Muichirou with anyone other than Genya from occasion-to-occasion.

ZenNezu (Zenitsu x Nezuko): ehhhhh, I'm not a big fan of Zenitsu especially in the earlier seasons but he's kinda grown on me, I don't hate this ship but I also don't really like this ship.

InoZen (Inosuke x Zenitsu): not much feeling about this other than I think Zenitsu is very straight but that's just my opinion. :[

InoTan (Inosuke x Tanjiro): I kinda shipped it but I now see them as more of brothers than romantic partners.

InoTanZen (Inosuke x Tanjiro x Zenitsu): My found brothers pairing but honestly these three are chaotic and I love them but it's definitely platonic.

GenTan (Genya x Tanjiro): These two are my babies but it's more platonic than anything, I love how their friendship had developed over the series.

MuiNezu (Muichirou x Nezuko): Similar to MuiTan I only really ship Muichirou with Genya but this ship makes less sense to me than Muitan because Nezuko and Muichirou interact less Genya and Muichirou so the ship seems to be coming out of nowhere for me.

Sanemi & Genya: God their relationship breaks every time, I love both of them and I just want them to be happy and I tend to ignore canon when comes to the ending anyways.

SaneKana (Sanemi x Kanae): Some people will argue that this ship was partly canon but I don't care, it's cute the idea of it but it's not something I personally ship.

Sanegiyuu (Sanemi x Giyuu): I'll be honest I hated Sanegiyuu when I first started getting into demon slayer, it could've been because I didn't like either Sanemi or Giyuu and thought the ship was over down. I will say it has grown on me a lot still not in my top three but I don't hate it and can kinda see where people are coming from. (I have started a plan for a Sanegiyuu fic anyways).

Shinogiyuu (Shinobu x Giyuu): Similar to Sanegiyuu but I don't ship it.

They had unanimously agreed to come out to their families in june. Well, unanimously might be a stretch, but in the end they had all decided to at least try. For some, they knew it would go perfectly fine and had only held back from not wanting to deal with conversation over something so intimate to themselves. For others, however, it was a bit... iffy, to say the least. Since most to all were dating someone (save for Gyomei who was AroAce), they decided that their partner(s) should be present in the event for emotional support (or more, depending on the reactions).

Mitsuri was the first, knowing full well her parents would be supportive as hell. They had always been throughout her whole life and she couldn't be more thankful of them. Shinobu went with her. A couple days ago, Mitsuri's family had invited Shinobu to dinner because she and Mitsuri were 'close friends,' which was convenient as they wouldn't need an excuse as to why Shinobu was there in the first place.

Mitsuri found herself nervous, catching some of the doubts of the others. Shinobu soothed her with an encouraging smile as they entered the house.

Mitsuri's parents instantly welcomed Shinobu and ushered the two to the table, the dinner already set. There was lively chatter for a bit as Mitsuri composed herself, shooting Shinobu a quick glance.

"Uhmm, can I say something?" she said abruptly.

Her parents looked up and nodded. Mitsuri's siblings were in a different room, playing to not bother Shinobu—though she had insisted she wouldn't mind.

"Okay. Ehm... Shinobu-San and I are dating." She spoke slowly, allowing the words to roll off her tongue. "And I'm Pan? Pansexual? So I'm... attracted to anyone, despite their gender—but mostly to Shinobu-San, she's the best," she concluded, with a grin.

Shinobu let out a breath, turning her head to hide her own smile.

Mitsuri's parents blinked and for a moment, they said nothing. Mitsuri fidgetted, her smile wavering. Then: "See, I told you there was something more!" her mother exclaimed exasperatedly, turning to her husband. "Now tell me I know our daughter better!"

Her father frowned. "But-"

"I do, don't I?"

"Eh??" Mitsuri looked from one parent to the other, confusion written all over her face. "Did you know already?"

"Oh!" They instantly turned back to her, offering a chorus of congratulations. "I wasn't certain, but I had a hunch," her mother explained. Then they had another welcome for Shinobu—but into the family, rather than the house.

Shinobu was touched at how quickly they had accepted her and deemed them excessively sweet as Mitsuri escorted her home. "I suppose that's where you get it from," she commented, kissing Mitsuri's cheek.

"Eh... You give me too much credit, Shinobu-san," Mitsuri said, her cheeks a pretty pink. She hugged her briefly. "I love you, bye bye!!"

"I'll text you when I get back home," Shinobu agreed, waving as she walked down the street.

Tengen was next, though he only came out to his parents as a joke because there wasn't a single person in the world who didn't know about his wives.

He strolled into the living room, hands in his pockets and said proudly to his mother and father—"Guys, I'm poly, polyamorous, polysexual, whatever."

His father simply rolled his eyes. "You think I don't know? You told me last year, and the year before, and the year before that. And yesterday. And last week. I don't care."

Tengen grinned. "Yepp—anyway, I want you two to meet my wives."

"We arranged them to be your wives—we know them. We knew them before you met them!" his father retorted, growing irritated.

"Yeah, well, they changed. So you won't recognise them," Tengen said. On cue, his wives entered the room, stifling smiles as they stood by his side. "See? They're Hinatsuru, Suma, and Makio."

"They look the same," his mother commented, confused.

"They changed clothes," Tengen explained.

"I- I swear to fucking- Just... get out," his father sighed.

"But-"

"Out!!"

Tengen shrugged and he and his wives made their way out. "Thought you would like to know, though!!!" he called out, before closing the door.

His parents sighed and went back to what they had been doing.

Kyojuro and Giyuu were next, both having families that were always supportive and on their side. Giyuu insisted they told Tsutako first, since she was only one person and it would be able to make them more confident to tell Kyojuro's family.

Tsutako guessed what was happening the second the two entered the room hand-in-hand, but she let them talk. "Do you need something? Is he staying over?" she inquired, putting down what she had been doing.

Giyuu fidgetted, suddenly nervous. He told Tsutako nearly everything, and he was wondering what she would think that he had hidden this from her. She probably suspected that he was gay—no doubt she knew—but he had never formally told her, so it felt like he was keeping a secret from her.

Kyojuro went straight into it, however, enthusiastic as always. "Hello, ma'am!! We wanted to tell you that we're dating!!" he said, squeezing Giyuu's hand gently. "We have been for a couple weeks now!! And I'm very happy that he likes me back, you know. He's the best!"

Tsutako smiled. "I'm happy to hear that."

Giyuu's head snapped up at her quick response. "Ehm... You aren't surprised?"

"Not necessarily. You two seemed rather close recently," she explained, walking over and taking his hand. "I'm glad you have each other."

"But... what about that I'm... attracted to men?" Giyuu mumbled.

Tsutako's thumb circled the back of his hand comfortingly. "I know you better than anyone, Giyuu. Maybe even better than yourself. I've noticed you seem to be drawn to boys more since you were, even, a child. That's been fairly obvious to me," she said.

"Ah! That's cool!!" Kyojuro exclaimed. He flashed a smile. "I'm pansexual!"

Tsutako smiled. "That's lovely!"

"Mhm!"

Giyuu blinked. "Why didn't you say anything about it, then?" he asked, going back to what she had said before.

"I figured you would tell me once you were ready. I didn't want to push you, or assume if I was wrong," she said. "Now, is he staying over or not?"

Giyuu glanced at Kyojuro. "If you don't mind? We're going to his house in a bit to tell his family first, though," he said.

"Of course. And yes, you can stay the night," she said, turning to Kyojuro. "Leave the door open a bit, though."

Giyuu frowned. "Why?"

She only gave him a sly smile before dropping his hand. "I'll get started on making lunch, you two better go off and do what you want to so that the food isn't cold by the time you get back."

"Okay!" Kyojuro said, tugging Giyuu's hand.

Giyuu shifted his hair to hide his flushed face as he was practically dragged out of the house.

Upon arriving at the Rengoku Household, there ended up being a lot of welcomes and chatter before they even got to the point. There was also a brief re-introduction of Giyuu to Kyojuro's parents in case they had forgotten who he was—which they hadn't.

Somehow noticing that there was something to be told, Ruka interrupted the conversation about Senjuro's age—Giyuu had commented that Senjuro looked older than he had remembered, which had lapsed in a recap about the past few months.

"Is there anything the two of you need to say?" she asked curiously. "I'm assuming you didn't come here for a quick visit."

"Oh! Yeah!" Kyojuro said, as if just remembering. "Me and Giyuu are dating, and we wanted you to know."

"Oh?" Shinjuro asked, eyeing Giyuu. "Does he treat you well?"

Giyuu shrank back at the stare but Kyojuro hugged him. "Mhm! He's the best! He does everything he can for me, even though he does too much sometimes," he said, laughing.

"Too much?" Shinjuro pressed, still giving Giyuu a side eye.

"He buys me things and spends too much money on me," Kyojuro explained. "I had to have him return various things because they cost waaay too much!"

"Oh. Okay," Shinjuro said. "Fine."

Ruka shot Shinjuro a quick glare before smiling at Kyojuro and Giyuu. "I'm glad to hear of this. Kyojuro did talk a lot about you, more than anyone else," she said, ruffling her son's hair.

Blush crept up Giyuu's cheeks. "Really?"

"Yes, and he seems quite the more happy around you. We—my husband and I—are both glad to hear of this," she said.

Shinjuro nodded quickly at the inflection in the word. "Yes. Glad."

Kyojuro grinned. "Great! I'm staying at Giyuu's tonight, also," he said, as an afterthought.

"What? N-" Shinjuro started, only for Ruka to talk over him.

"That's wonderful. Have fun, and don't be too much trouble to the Tomioka's," she said calmly, kissing Kyojuro's forehead.

"Thank you!"

Giyuu nodded. "Thank you," he echoed.

Ruka smiled.

Sanemi and Obanai had perhaps been dating the longest, compared to the rest—save for Tengen. Which meant they had also been hiding their relationship for the longest. Which made sense, given that Sanemi's father could possibly be the most homophobic piece of shit ever—and that Obanai's family was anything but supportive. So it made sense for them to be weary of this. They had agreed, of course. But they ended up waiting till almost the end of June to say anything.

In the end, they told Sanemi's parents first. They knew, at least, that his mother would be supportive (she knew that Sanemi was gay, Kyogo did not). Of course, they told Shizu first. Genya and Muichiro hadn't spoken of their relationship to Genya's family yet (the Tokito's knew, though), and so they joined Sanemi and Obanai for the confession.

Shizu was curious as to why the four had approached her. She paused in folding the laundry, a shirt half-folded on her lap as she looked up. "Is something wrong?"

"No, we just wanted to tell you something," Sanemi said. Obanai hovered next to him, unsure what to do. Sanemi's hand slipped into Obanai's, their fingers intertwining.

Genya tilted his head to the side slightly, embarrassed. "Yeah."

"Mhm?" Shizu noticed the held hands but said nothing about it. They would tell her.

"Me and Genya are dating," Muichiro said abruptly, tugging on Genya's sleeve. "Pick me up," he said to him.

Genya sighed but crouched down. Muichiro clambered onto his back, resting his chin contently on his shoulder.

"Oh?" Shizu smiled. "That's nice. What's your name?"

"He's Muichiro Tokito," Genya responded.

"Right. He has a brother, right? A twin? I wasn't sure which it was," Shizu said.

"Yeah."

She turned to Sanemi and Obanai. "And you two?..."

"Ah, we're also dating," Sanemi said, his hand tightening slightly on Obanai's. "We haven't told Obanai's family yet, but Tokito's knows about Genya."

"I'm glad you could trust me with this," Shizu said gently, putting the laundry to the side and standing to kiss both her son's foreheads. "I hope telling Iguro's family goes okay."

Sanemi nodded. "I hope so too."

"You don't mind that I'm dating him?" Obanai asked quietly, his voice barely audible as he hid behind Sanemi. He was always nervous around women, though he preferred to not make it so obvious. But this was his boyfriend's mother for fuck's sake! He had the right to be even more timid!—as much as he hated to act like a fucking child in front of her, he found himself unable to help it.

Shizu shook her head. "Of course I don't mind. As long as Sanemi's happy with this, then it's fine. You take care of him well, yes?"

Obanai gave a quick nod. Sanemi let out a breath. "Mother- He's great. And yes, he makes me happy. He's endlessly better than father, too," he added.

Shizu nodded. "I just want to be cautious. I made many wrong decisions at your age..."

Genya glanced at her, then Sanemi, unsure if he should still be here.

Sanemi's free hand clamped onto Genya's arm, holding him there. Genya had to learn to make good decisions too.

"Don't worry," Obanai said slowly. "If I do anything that makes Sanemi uncomfortable, I'll gladly pitch myself off a- I mean- I'll... make amendments to it, I swear."

Shizu offered a smile. "There's no need for dying, but thank you. You seem like a lovely person and I know the two of you have been friends for a while as well, so I trust you. Forgive me for my doubts."

"It's fine. I understand," Obanai said.

Sanemi nodded. "Right. Want to tell your parents today?" he asked, letting go of Genya as he turned to Obanai.

"I don't know... I mean, sure? But I'm worried they'll ruin everything," Obanai admitted.

Genya took that as his cue to leave and, hoisting Muichiro higher on his waist, he gave a quick goodbye before heading up to his room.

"That's true."

"Are we telling your dad?" Obanai asked, hoping to stall.

Shizu frowned. "You're telling him? I don't know if that's the best idea."

Sanemi sighed. "Well, we can only hide it for so long. But you don't have to be there when I tell him," he said to Obanai. "It'll probably be best if you don't get stressed about anything before we tell your family."

"But won't it be harder on you?" Obanai asked.

"If you're telling your father, I want to be there," Shizu said. Something in her voice gave no room for argument.

"Fine, then," Sanemi said. "You stay here, Obanai. I'll tell him now to get over with it."

Obanai nodded. "Okay." He sat down on one of the cushions as Sanemi and Shizu went to Kyogo's room.

Wanting to stay on his relatively good side, Sanemi knocked before entering.

"I want to tell you something," he said, in response to the loud and irritated "what?!" that followed his knock.

There was a pause. Shizu took the moment to breathe slowly, preparing herself. The door opened.

"The fuck do you want?" Kyogo asked, eyeing Shizu before turning back to Sanemi. "It better be worth my time."

Sanemi bit back a retort and let out a slow breath. "Right. I have a boyfriend."

Kyogo took a second to process this. "Boyfriend? Boyfriend?" he clarified.

"Yes," Sanemi said impatiently. "That's what I said."

"You're a boy."

"I know." Sanemi forced down the urge to roll his eyes.

"You can't date- Are you-? God! I knew it. You raised a fucking disappointment!" Kyogo practically shouted, turning his attention to Shizu. "You were aaalways saying how I was bad at raising the children, so you tried taking over, yet look where it's got you! Here he is, delusional and dating boys. He has no chance growing into a man at this point. It's a wonder he's survived so long under your wing, in the first place. Now he's gone insane and it's all because of your inability to be reasonable and let me do the work. Women are always like this, did you know? Bitches like you should just die."

Sanemi's eyes narrowed. His patience had already been treaded on and it dispersed now. "Don't talk to her like that."

Shizu raised a hand to Sanemi, stopping him from saying anything more. She turned to Kyogo and, despite her size, she seemed to almost tower over him, fury over his insults towards Sanemi urging her to stand up. "Sanemi is not a disappointment. He will never be. He's not the delusional one, in fact you might be. If you can't see what a strong and kind and amazing man he's grown up to be, then it's clear who's the unreasonable one. You can't talk about him like that when we all know that he's a far better person than you could ever be," she said. She spoke firmly, her eyes fixed on his glare.

"Mother-"

Shizu shook her head and Sanemi fell quiet.

Kyogo spluttered for a response, not having expected her to talk back. She had never done it before. He hadn't anticipated that she would start now. "You- You woman!" he shouted pathetically. "As if you have any premonition of his future! You're just as bad as- as that fag," he spat. "Don't talk to me—either of you. I don't want to see your disgusting faces anymore. I've had enough with your nonsense."

The door was slammed in their faces. Sanemi grit his teeth, turning to Shizu. "Why didn't you let me talk to him?" he said, more angry at his father than his mother. He could never be mad at her.

"I didn't want him doing anything to you," she said with a sigh. "At the very least, I wanted to say something for once."

"Mother... I'm stronger now, okay? I can handle it fine," Sanemi assured her, his expression softening slightly. Then he brightened, offering her a smile. "But what you said was great. The look on his face—I should've taken a picture..."

Shizu laughed. "Why don't we go to your boyfriend now, hm? I'm sure he's worried," she said, taking Sanemi's hand.

Worried was an understatement, perhaps. Obanai had his knees tucked up, his chin dipping down and arms around his legs. He looked up immediately as they walked into the room. "I heard shouting," he explained.

Sanemi sighed, sitting down next to him and taking his hand. "Yeah, he'll probably get mad if he sees you here now. But he'll get over it. Also, Mother put him in his place," he said with a triumphant glint in his eye. He lifted Obanai's hand, kissing between his fingers. "We'll save your family for tomorrow, maybe. Sleep off any stress?"

Obanai nodded. "'kay. He didn't do anything besides shout, right?"

"Right," Sanemi agreed. "If he had, I probably would've taken the door off its hinges and hit him with it."

Shizu gave him a look of disapproval as she went back to her seat from earlier. "You can't do that," she said. "Your father is still dangerous. I have full faith in your strength, but he has a talent at getting his way, perhaps the only thing he's good at."

Sanemi let out a breath. "Fine. I'll try not to hit him with a door, then. Maybe something more effective like a hammer."

"Sanemi."

He grinned. "Sorry."

Obanai leaned on him. "Maybe we won't tell them."

"Hm?" Sanemi turned to him, wrapping an arm around his shoulder. "Your family?"

"Yeah. I mean, I don't even want them in my life anymore. If we don't tell them, then maybe it'll be more... concrete. Leaving them? Like, it could be a start. It's not like I haven't thought about running away every second I spend in the house," Obanai said, closing his eyes. "I don't want to tell them. I don't want them to know about you and try to ruin it because you're the best thing that's happened to me."

Sanemi nodded slowly. "Alright. If you say so. If this is just doubt because of my father's reaction, then—"

"No, it's not that. I was thinking about this before and I just... Is it alright for you, though?" Obanai asked, looking up.

"Of course. Whatever you want," Sanemi said, smiling reassuringly.

Shizu wore a smile of her own as she spoke. "How would you like to stay over tonight? I'm sure we could arrange some more room in Sanemi's bedroom. I'll make sure Kyogo stays out of your way," she said.

Obanai glanced at her. "Could I?"

Sanemi nodded. "Well, if she says it's fine, then it's fine. And yeah—I'll seriously punch his face if he tries to do anything to you."

Obanai laughed. "Noted."

"Alright, let's go get you another pillow. I'm sure we could steal one of my brother's. Shūya likes hoarding all of them, he should have plenty."

Genya being elated at having another female companion her own age, only surrounded by her older brother and little siblings. Muichirou being odd, but oh so sweet. Holding her hands, combing her hair, kissing her cheeks, even kissing her lips.

The random possessiveness is odd at time, but Muichirou has been odd and sickly from day one — and Genya takes it in stride, especially since she’s been so lonely.

And when Genya begins to fall sickly like all the other girls in the surrounding towns, Muichirou is such an attentive companion, preaching about the sweetness of death and how much she loves Genya, how they’ll be together forever and ever as Genya slowly “heals” from her illness and all the bites to her neck.

It’s just such a shame Sanemi’s friend, the general (Rengoku?) had to come and ruin the whole ordeal.💔

That promise was put to the test as Genya stood soaking wet in front of Tokitou Muichirou’s grave, unbothered by the rain and more for his lover. Each drop of water splashed against the carvings for infinity, sliding down the sides and seeping into the cracks and washing the grey stone.

The soft summer drizzle accompanied Muichirou’s passing the night before his twenty-fifth birthday. Sanemi’s grave stood a few rows away in the Demon Slayer Corp’s vast graveyard, and Tanjiro’s a place down a couple graves.

It was a nice day, cloudy altho a tad bit warm, a couple took this oppurtunity to hang out together in nature. Muichiro and Genya were in a giant field of flowers that had a small circle clearing where Muichiro sat while the taller boy hugged him, his head near the other’s heart.

They were enjoying each other’s company, the touch, the feeling, they drank everything in as much as they could from sound to feeling. It was a nice time. The atmosphere was also very relaxing, finally getting a break from killing man-eating demons. Suddenly, there was a small repitive sound that disturbed the silence, altho only Genya heard it. He wasn’t quite sure of what it was, altho it hasn’t been a demon. It was a quiet, small and repitive ‘badum-badum’ sound. It just felt nice, but he was curious aswell.

Finally after a few moments of silence he finally decided to ask “What’s this ‘badum-badum noise I hear?” He asked genuinely confused. The shorter boy’s face immedieatly went red altho the other one didnt quite know why. “Is everything alright..?” He asked feeling genuine worry for the other one as they both had deep feelings, and were aware of them. “Thats…” He started a bit of a shy voice, a bit of silence following afterwards. “..My heartbeat…” He said as the noise became a little louder and faster as his face was still red while the other was in a little shock. “Oh, so that’s what I heard.” He said quietly, letting out a small chuckle afterwards.

“I love you too Mui..” He said a bit quiet, but loud enough for the other to hear, in a bit of a teasing tone, with a warm smile. “Oh stop it..” Muichiro says as he smiles warmly, truly a rare moment as he turns his head away in embarassment.

Muichiro yawned as he took watched the trees flit past. He was sitting in a train one his way home from a mission. He hadn't slept in a couple days due to constant missions and training. His crow—Ginko—had told him to rest but he'd ignored her.

Now he could tell it had been a bad idea but at least he didn't seem to have any more missions for the night. Besides, it was almost dawn so any demons still out there must be exceptionally stupid to still be wandering outside.

He was almost drifting off when the door to his compartment—which had been empty, due to the early time it was—opened. He looked up to see a familiar ravenette striding towards him. His sleepiness made him have to double take to realize who it was.

"Ah- Shinazugawa-San," he mumbled sleepily. He moved to get up but his body felt heavy. He slumped back down and layed his head on the table.

Genya walked up to him and sat on the seat across from the Hashira. "Tired?"

"Very."

It was silent as the train moved down the road silent as a river. And then Genya said, "How are you doing, Tokito?"

"Mm, you can call me Muichiro.." 

Genya nodded. "Then you call me Genya."

The other nodded lightly and closed his eyes. "Just tired.. I haven't slept in a couple days."

"Oh, well, I'll let you sleep then," the older of the two said, leaning back in his seat and watching the scenery flit past.

"Wake me up when we get to my stop, 'kay?" Muichiro said.

"Which is yours?" 

"Where ever the train stops first."

"What?"

"I was the only one on the train apparently. So whichever is first. Unless it stops to where you were heading to, first, then wake me up then."

"Alright."

Then it was silent again, the only sound being their breathing and the quiet way the train moved.

It was only about five minutes before Muichiro fell asleep. Genya was looking out the window and he noticed that the sun was slowly rising in the horizen. People were starting to get up and ready for the day and birds were flying across the sky.

Then the train lurched to a stop and Genya, noticing that it wasn't his stop, went to wake Muichiro.

The Hashira was still half asleep as he stood up and moved to leave. He nearly topled over, however, and Genya rushed to him to help. "'M fine, I can do it myself.." Muichiro protested.

The way he crashed onto the door proved him wrong so he let the taller lead him out of the train.

"Don't you have to go back to your stop..?" 

Genya shrugged. "Well, I was originally going to go train with Himejima but then again, he'd just told me I should take a break from it so.. I'm free to go wherever today." He smiled.

Muichiro nodded. "Mkay.. You don't have to help though.." 

"I will."

"..Fine."

The two walked slowly toward the place Genya assumed was Muichiro's house. Luckily they had Ginko to lead the way since Genya didn't know where to go and Muichiro was obviously in no state to give him proper directions.

But half way there, Muichiro nearly collapsed again and when Genya went to help him up, he found that the other had fallen asleep. He sighed and picked Tokito up. "Welll, I guess I'll caarry him."

Ginko flapped about teling him to be careful. Genya shushed the crow saying that if they were too loud Muichiro might wake up—which shut Ginko up immediately.

He trepsed up to Muichiro's estate and then realized he didn't have to key to get in. "Oh uh the key-" he stammered, turning to Ginko.

"Nevermind that, the window's open, just go through there," Ginko said.

Genya blinked. "How am I supposed to carry Muichiro through a window??"

The only response he got was "It's big" before Ginko flew away to, presumably, where the said window was.

The window most certainly was not big. It took Genya ten minutes to get himself and Muichiro safely inside—although he almost dropped the smaller one several times in the process. And all that just for Ginko to look at him disapprovingly and say, "Not thaat window you idiot. That one." 

Genya turned to see the crow's wing pointing to a door. A glass one, so perhas it might've  seemed like a window to Ginko.

He sighed but decided not to make a big deal about it, knowing it would only make things worse.

I literally spent, like, 30 mins thinking abt it but then my mom asked why i was just staring at my pencil so i stopped

Genya brought Muichiro to his bed and went back downstairs, wondering what to do next.

At first, he figured he would go home or something, but in the end, he ended up staying at Muichiro's house for the rest of the day, waiting for him to wake up.

It was almost night when Muichiro woke up. He found himself in his bed, not sure how he'd gotten there, though. When he went downstairs, looking for Ginko for some answers, he found Genya sitting on a chair, asleep, in the living room. 

Muichiro smiled to himself and let the other sleep peacefully.

I think these two are cute together! ❤️ I think they are the same age as well? But because of that, maybe they were able to relate to each other more, along with their family histories like you mentioned. that hc of genya writing to kanao because he is too shy to talk is soo cute!!

2.Mui/Nezuko

Unpopular opinion, but I really feel like Mui has more chemistry with Nezuko than Zenitsu does, despite their limited interactions 😭 I mean, zenitsu and nezuko is cute but at the same time its like zenistsu just likes nezuko and nezuko doesnt really care so much about him, she just goes with it 😭 the head tilts that mui does and nezuko copies is cute. even in the last episode of the swordsmith village when mui does it and nezuko copies again, it made me realise that mui only did the head tilts when asking about nezuko 🥹 I've also seen some cute fanarts about them, and its cute that in kimetsu gakuen, they're both in the same class! And I like how they seem to be very comfortable with each other, I love those panels in the manga of Mui showing gingko to nezuko, and nezuko laying on his lap 🥰

3. Mui/Tanjiro

These two are cute as well, its funny how much Mui overly favours tanjiro 😂 there are so many cute fanfics on ao3 about these two being written now because of season 4. and about tanjiro asking about mui's hobbies, its so sweet that kanamori is just sitting with a ton of paper airplanes! Its as if Mui just sits there while kanamori is busy working and makes origami, and then gifts it to kanamori. Why else would he have so many paper planes in his shed 🤣 I agree that too many people make nsfw things about them and thats gross, they are children 😕

That reminds me of that REALLY good genmui artist, you would think her work is official demon slayer art because of how well she draws the characters. But she also made a couple of nsfw drawings of genmui... 😐

4. Rengoku/Misturi

Considering how close they are, I'm disappointed that the anime didnt show mitsuri having more of a reaction to rengoku dying... obanai as well. Mui also had an emotional reaction! at least only after he gained his memories though, he's the only hashira they showed who actually shed tears for rengoku 😭 I will forever prefer obanai for mitsuri, but rengoku does make a good match for her. they are both loud and eccentric characters and suit each other's personalities well 😍

5. Koku/Nakime

I think these two just look good together as well! 🥹 I feel like these two have a regal look about them. could you share that artist's name who draws them please, if thats alright? I feel like Nakime is the only demon who Kokushibo would actually get along with, apart from Muzan 😂 they both seem calm and collected. I heard that Nakime murdered her husband, I dont know if thats true? But it definitely would mean that her husband was not Kokushibo then 🤣

1) I know! There are many people who are not good at speaking and that is why they write and I thought that would be perfect for Genya since he is quite nervous and gets a little angry because he can't speak properly and gets frustrated.

Besides that it would be something that Kanao could also keep, maybe after reading his writings, she would give him a kiss on the cheek and save the paper with Genya's writing to read it when she misses it or have it as a reminder of how cute and pay attention that it is him

2) Well, I've only seen a few chapters or fragments of Kimetsu Academy and I didn't know those panels existed, but it sounds adorable!

I respect your opinion that you think Nezuko has better chemistry with Muichiro than with Zenitsu, they look cute and they are also the same age and there has been a little more interaction with him than with Zenitsu at Kimetsu Academy, due to the fact that they are in the same class and because Zenitsu is always with his trio

3) Their interaction is one of the cutest, both as a friendship and as a couple. These two are quite cute when they are together and Muichiro shows that he truly has a huge regard for Tanjiro, as the slayers say "the preference is obvious."

I can accept that they both kiss each other on the cheek or even on the mouth, but not that shit where they kiss and... You know... NO! THEY ARE CHILDREN!! MINORS!!

4) Their relationship is the same as Sun x Sun, both are always so lively and get along quite well, and many fanarts show how Rengoku takes care of Mitsuri in any situation.

I even saw one where he was willing to wear a uniform just like Mitsuri's so she wouldn't feel so uncomfortable and I found it so cute! (Shinjuro burned that uniform hahahaha).

And the same artist made an image of how Mitsuri remembers Rengoku, both smiling and the time he gave her his haori for her to wear, I cried

5) I will leave the name of the artist in the comments! And yes, it would be somewhat illogical for Nakime to be Kokushibo's wife because it is known that she killed her husband and Kokushibo is as alive as a rock hahahaha.

The two of them would have an introvert x introvert dynamic and they look so cute. Both would not force the other to express themselves because it would be illogical for them to do so when the other is just as introverted as them.
