Actually doesn’t-understand-casual-sex Slade is awesome. I imagine him and Jason would hook up a few times on impulse and Slade would get attached and feel a responisbility to protect Jason. After the first time Slade shoots someone for messing with Red Hood Jason swoons. 

And I mean, Jason doesn’t do anything casual ever. That boy wouldn’t know how to not care if his life depended on it. Jay was lost for Slade immediately after their first time when Slade whispered in his ear that he’d take care of him.

It’s the perfect set-up for Slow Burn where they were fucking since the very start but both first try to deny the depths of their commitment to themselves and then believe the other doesn’t reciprocate their romanitc affections.

post chapter 2 (with eddie and stan surviving au ofc) the losers would absolutely have life360 with each other. it would be constant texts “eds why are you leaving work early” “ben i know you bought me flowers for tonight i stalked you and saw you at the flower shop earlier” “mike why is your location off who are you trying to surprise this time” “bill why haven’t you left home in three days are you having writers block again” and every time one of them would wake up from a nightmare theyd check to see whose phone wasn’t plugged in charging and call them, usually more than one of them is up at night. every time they get together in person, mike takes a screenshot of all their little bubbles hovered around each other and saves it to a file on his phone that he looks at whenever he’s struggling. a reminder that they have this time together now. eddie tries to surprise richie at one of his shows once, but richie stalks him and sees and eddie bitches about how he ruined the surprise for several weeks. they all look at the weekly driving reports and try to guess which of them was the one who was speeding/using their phone the most/etc. every time one of their phones starts dying that person is flooded with individual texts telling them to charge it

I'm going on another rant here sorry (some mentions of child death and dehumanization ahead, if that's something you don't want to see)

Kyurem, for all of its spite and anger in Iced Tracks, is still pretty lonely.

It purposefully curses a child here and there with the sole intention of spreading that same anger and turning the fear that humans have for it back on them. It makes humans fear their own young, and from that fear comes that same isolation for the child.

The intention is that that isolation will beget the same kind of destructive anger that Kyurem itself has. And even if not, there is still a permanent stain on Unova's history that children cursed by Kyurem -- the bringer of winter and all the dearths that the season holds -- are often dehumanized and treated as Kyurem itself, frequently killed before even reaching adolescence.

It's all very unfortunate.

But Kyurem is still isolated, and anger makes a horrible replacement for actual, meaningful connections with others.

This is why it reaches out to Ingo when he comes to the mountains. None of its cursed children have ever survived so long, and even though Ingo's life has been characterized by a similar sort of isolation and distance, he still hasn't fallen back on anger to fill the void like Kyurem has.

Kyurem is curious about this human. He's very distressed -- terrified, both of Kyurem and of the people he left behind -- and absolutely convinced that all the way out here, he'll die alone and Kyurem is just going to eat him and be done with him, or something.

But, no, Kyurem is curious. So it makes an offer:

If Ingo gives it a bond -- something it hasn't had in centuries, if not millennia, a warmth that it scarcely remembers from the recollections it retains as the husk left behind by the Twin Dragons when they split -- it will teach him how to control his powers.

And frankly, what else is he to do but accept?

Honestly I think I'd enjoy almost any path that the writers could take with Izzy. But the funniest possible one would be hands down if the crew of the Revenge somehow managed to domesticate him

BUT YES. YEAH. Like The Day Of he's just paralyzed with worry and caught between wanting to do something and not wanting to go against Aoki... maybe at most he chances calling Arakawa telling him to be careful, because that's not too conspicuous given his role in the dissolution, but Arakawa just gives him the old I'll Be Fine Worry About Yourself... and, you know, why shouldn't he; they've always had their enemies and he's Arakawa the Assassin, he can handle himself... he can let himself have that fleeting hope, but deep down... and THEN he finds out and has to act like he didn't mean anything to him and has to go back to his duties like nothing happened... OUGH

Can I just say. Literally such an insane fucking series of scenes in Coin Locker Baby. Because you get Jo's despondence when he's saying he might have killed Arakawa--he's being a bitch to provoke Ichiban into a fight, but it's also an admission his inaction played a part, isn't it... and then you get him expressing that he's familiar with Ichiban's need to protect Arakawa... and then you get the sheer desperation and insistence in his voice when he says he could never kill him... and then you get--I'm not totally sure how clear it is in English--but you get him actively saying his feelings go deeper than Ichiban's without really explaining how... and then you get the tinge of fondness when he's thinking back on the old days when Arakawa lived up to his name... Like. Why Did They Do That. Any Of That.

ALSO. GOD. I've gotten so much shit the past couple days because I said I want to lock Jo, Kume, and Tendo in a room for five minutes For My Entertainment. Reading those tags felt like coming home honestly 😭 Like, even Ichi was ready to kill someone over Arakawa, and Jo was out here threatening to disembowel people [in the dub]. And I Think They Should Be Allowed To. As A Treat. So FOR REAL the biggest "I'm so glad we get to talk" 😭😭😭

On that note genuinely so funny that I took an extra ten minutes re-rendering the video because I forgot to put the "flashback" part in Arakawa's subtitles at first but then nobody read it 😭

But it's also something I've been mulling over because I'm delusional. Getting actors as high-profile as Nakai and Takei back for just A Flashback is kinda crazy to me because Arakawa and Jo's screen-time took up a full four percent of the entire game [over ten percent of the cutscenes] originally. But then if it's multiple flashbacks equivalent to that... what exactly is going on here that the past is so intertwined...

And Because My Brain Is Evil there is the fact that technically speaking, Yokoyama only said that line was from a flashback, and specified Arakawa wouldn't be appearing in the main story. Now of course a normal person would interpret that as him reassuring the audience he won't appear in any present-day scenes, but part of me was like. Oh So A Side Story Is On The Table [<- it's not it's fucking not it will not be in a million years]
