Currently doing some research before writing a big retrospective on Get To Heaven for its 10 years anniversary.

This type of lore and hidden stuff is exactly why I love this band. Thomas Silhouette as a character is still unknown to a lot of EE listeners, even big fans of the album, and being aware of his existence isn’t at all necessary to fully enjoy Get To Heaven. But it’s such a fascinating detail that adds so much the already amazing concept of the album. This evil twin, this shadow man pushed to the brink that commits atrocities in Fortune 500 that you still can’t fully detach yourself from. It is pretty clear he was designed as Jon’s alter ego, a what-if-I-became-a-terrorist incarnation of Jon’s worst nightmares, that just shows how easy this world can break you, and how your own heaven can in fact be hell for other people.

Anyway long live EE, I’ll keep you posted on my work if i accomplish anything i judge worthy of being shared 👉👉

concept pitch: for the 10-year anniversary of get to heaven next year, we bring back the stage looks of jon in the tabard and everyone else in the triangle-block jackets, only the jacket looks are all black except for the \/ triangle bit, which is white, and then jon’s tabard outfit is completely white as if he’s reached some Ascended Level phase of whatever the fuck it is. get to heaven -> got to heaven. hear me out
