Half asleep, suffering from the 4th vaccine but I’ll take a pic anyway 🤷🏻♀️

I preface this with: if it is safe for you to do so go get your flu jab, or at least book your appointment. What follows is not anti-vaccine, it is "what the hell is your reasoning for this change in policy, they are allergic to the vaccine you idiots".
So, my brain just had a moment of "I need an answer to this question" and I've been distracted from that question by this:
According to the cdc (uk*), as of this flu season if you have an egg allergy it is ok "regardless of the severity of previous reaction to egg" for you to "receive any vaccine (egg-based or non-egg-based)"
And, do you want to know why I book to get a flu shot every year? Because my mum can't have one. Because she's allergic to eggs. She is also immuno-compromised.
Do you know how the doctors figured out she had an egg allergy? She had an egg-based vaccine. And collapsed. In seconds. In. The. Doctors. Office.
Look, I accept the severity of the reaction my mum has to eggs is truly horrifying and extreme. It's on a 'if eggs aerosolled like nut oils do, she couldn't be in the same enclosed space as them' level.
Do you want to know what seems to be the reasoning for saying it's fine? If you're receiving the vaccine you'll be somewhere where they can manage your hyper-acute reaction. So you know. Have anaphylaxis. Deal with consequences later. Presumably warn the person whose about to give you the vaccine that they will need to rush you into hospital for treatment as soon as they are done, making sure to dose you with Epinephrine every few minutes along the way.
What is wrong with these people?
Apparently "People who have had a severe allergic reaction to other components that are in a flu vaccine should not receive vaccines that contain that component", but the egg component doesn't matter? What, is the hyper-acute allergic reaction treatment not good enough for them, but it is if you're only allergic to little ol' eggs?
Insanity.
Anyway, protect your loved, indifferent and hated ones, and if you can, go get your flu jab.
*all quotes are from the american cdc because their website is more navigable, but the advise boils down to the same on the uk, the NHS still says you're at risk of allergic reactions.

the general public: oh its ok if it gets more common because it will mutate into less severe strains that wont kill anyone we care about

Hi everyone. If you are in America, or near the American border on the east side of Canada, please get your polio booster if you can, or the polio vaccine if you didn't get it as a child.
Polio has been found in the NYC waste water.
Polio is more infectious than the alpha variant of covid was, and more infectious than the flu.
While 75-90% of people who contract it will not show symptoms, they are still contagious.
Polio causes a variety of symptoms like partial or compete paralysis, lifelong muscle pain and weakness, and/or viral meningitis.
There is no cure for polio. Only prevention and then management of the symptoms.

I didn't realize how much I needed time off of work just to feel better. I caught a 48-hour cold (thank gosh, nothing worse!), and just having the weekend off, I'm so much better. I also needed sun and time away from the office.
Even thought it's warm and sunny where I am- make sure to rest, hydrate, and take care of yourselves properly during this season 💖✨️❤️🔥

Shocking news: “When you're infected with #measles, your #immune system abruptly forgets every pathogen it's ever encountered before – every cold, every bout of flu, every exposure to bacteria or viruses, every #vaccination. The loss is near-total and permanent.” If you are #antivax, you are courting death.
Please Vaccinate!

Before I forget, I’m more than likely not active much in June. My archaeology lab just got the approval to do a dig for a month.
Hopefully I don’t miss anything fun while digging!😂❤️✨
