Today I reached a huge goal of mine : I finally broke 160 lbs. Might seem silly to some , most women go to the gym to lose weight . I started at about 150 lbs back in June . had lost muscle mass and was quite soft (for lack of a better term) due to my augmentation and my physical exercise being limited ... and for all of my life I've always been super lean but with no real strength. So, I decided to hire a trainer and make myself harder , leaner, and BIGGER... 4 months into it , the gains are real. One more isolating bicep exercise that I LOVE!! 🤓💪 It is a single arm preacher curl on an incline bench with a light dumbbell. By resting your body against the bench you limit the "pendulum" motion of swinging your body to lift the weight (which can happen when performing a standing bicep curl). They are so hard AND effective. Do you ever feel like you’re not really making any progress in the gym? Even though you are going regularly and staying consistent? Here’s a few things it could be: It might be that you’re not working hard enough. Or maybe you’re working too hard! This is why it is a good idea to get a coach. A standard cookie cutter plan may have you doing too much volume, or not enough, and volume needs to be programmed well and according to you in order for you to get the best results from it. Too much volume can prevent gains, too little can limit them. Another factor is progressive overload. Essentially this means continually progressing in some way in your exercises. That could be increasing the weight week on week, and even set to set, or it could mean getting more reps out at the same weight week on week, or improving your technique (remember how I bang on about filming your sets to check form?). There are lots of different variables you could choose to focus on for progressive overload, but the point is that if you’re not progressing SOMETHING, you won’t be seeing improvements. You need to make it challenging. Don’t stay in your comfort zone with a certain weight and don’t simply go through the motions. Showing up isn’t enough, you gotta be challenging yourself. As an additional thing to consider, you might not be eating enough protein, or just enough calories overall. If you’re eating too little, it will be much harder to see progress in terms of strength or muscle gain. This is why with my clients I like to have them eating MORE, not less. It can be scary at first, but once you start seeing the changes to your energy and your performance and your body, you realise eating more won’t make you gain fat if you’re doing it right. Just some more progress pictures. let me know what you guys think, this is just after one month of going to the gym everyday and eating healthy, or trying to. i still eat whatever i want on some days but i try to maintain a healthy diet. (it's freaking hard man) But i made some gainzzz and i've been so happy with the results so far. i need to keep going and push myself out of my comfort zone. 😉

Quick post on technique for the one arm row. Pulling the weight directly up like most people do engages the traps a lot as opposed to your lats, which are what we really want to be hitting with this movement. Just a slight adjustment to the path of your arm will change this to a more lat dominant movement. Think about driving the elbow back behind you in an arc motion, bring your hand back to your hip rather than straight up from the floor. Hope this helps! G O A L S 💥 When I first started weight training (4 yrs ago!) one of my biggest goals were abs! However I've seen more progress in the last 6 months than I have in several years! • Start of the year saw a new workout regime. Instead of having ab days, I've been doing a couple of abs at the start & end of each workout, as well as more compound movements. Hitting my abs so frequently has made such a big difference. • However it's not just about the exercise, I've been eating a good clean balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep & being CONSISTENT!
