Gratitude post 28 💫 I’m grateful to have met Miss Zaxby during her short time on Earth. Last Monday, something took her from the coop. Yes, yes. I know. Losing animals is just part of farm life. However, she was a special girl. She loved to be held, petted and talked to. She would come up to us on the patio and sing to us. She was the biggest of all our chicks and she would ruuuuuun across the yard like her tail feathers were on fire. Dunno if you’ve ever seen a fat chicken run, but it is hilarious. Anyways, today I just felt extra grateful for her and all the funny memories we have sitting outside watching her be a goof ball. Whoodathunk that chickens would be such personable, lovable pets? Today is a day where we all give thanks. Why does it have to be one day out of the year for us to give thanks? There's so much to give thanks on a daily, and if you can't think of one, then you need to sort out your Priorities differently. Hm. Anonymous, I realize this may sound insane, but have you tried not wanting things? My life got immeasurably better when I decided to put in the effort and meditate, cast my sorrows into the void, that sort of thing. Now I can be angry or sad or horny or grumpy or hungry or punchy or any of many other emotional states, and enjoy them for what they are, without actually wanting to hurt anyone because of them. Also, I can spend literally all of my time doing good! It’s nice.
