Whenever I read Vi fics I actually like when the reader is given a different nickname that isn’t Cupcake. I feel like that nickname is specially for Caitlyn only and it suits her.

so that's what i've been working on for the past 2 weeks! i wanted to draw something for this intro ever since i first listened to it (as a companion piece to my other gur drawing, though it of course ended up being way bigger in scale), but it only really gripped me about halfway through PALISADE ep 18. the next morning after that i listened to this narration on repeat for about 45 minutes and then made a big sketch on 4 sheets of paper at my desk at work.

anyways, i haven't listened to the new episode yet but i think i'm probably ready for whatever they're gonna throw at us with the next sortie. i'm gonna believe, against it all, in millennium break. for gur

[Episode Five] One Last Push!

I just realized I spelled Darol's name wrong in... all of these... so I suck. :| But he is an absolute angel, I tell you h'what! Dan enjoys talking to him so much, I can see it on his little pixel face! These two are both incredibly positive role models in their respective circles, and I think they really do bond over what they do and enjoying it for the help they both give to people. Daniel may have hated stardom, but he certainly didn't hate being the Dad of the "Garage", and he likes to think he knows when he can sus out people who are only interested in fame, and who's in it for the service they can provide!

1. Holy shit I am so happy I found another person who gets how smart Percy is, and gets that every instance of Percy looking/getting called stupid is due to his dyslexia or people not telling him anything.

2. Which book/chapter is this from? I need to bookmark it ASAP and start shouting it from the metaphorical tumblr hills.

3. We really don't talk about how good a mom Sally is? Like yeah she's badass and gentle but like. She respects Percy. When the school system failed Percy, she's the one who still not only believed that he was smart but still acted like it and probably taught him too. Queen mom Sally Jackson right there.

1.) YEAHH EXACTLY. Or his ADHD 😭 It drives me NUTS whenever Percy is treated as the dumb + comedic guy. Like I get what they're saying and why they're saying it, but sometimes his character gets reduced to JUST that and it hurts my soul. I get that he's funny as a narrator and as a character and sometimes he can be a little "clueless" but it just feels like some people like to think of that as either all he is or a huge part of who he is. I believe I've also seen Leo get this treatment despite literally being insanely smart at such a young age so. that's...fun. They can be funny and smart too 😞

2.) It's from the 10th Anniversary edition of The Lightning Thief! It's Rick's cover letter for the first readers of the manuscript & a note from the narrator. I don't have a copy of that edition myself, but I've seen some pictures of it on Rick's blog and someone posted one of the pages on Reddit (where I got it from).

3.) YEEEAHHHH I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!! What I would do to get adopted by her rn. The way she talks to him makes me kinda teary-eyed because she's just so...you can just tell how much she loves Percy and that she would do anything to make sure he grew up resilient and kind in a world that's always out to get him. She believes in him so much that it just makes me lose my mind a little. It's just so sweet and I can't help but feel so moved by it.

I'm not sure if you've read Chalice of the Gods, but there's this scene where (spoilers, kinda) Sally talks to Percy after the whole thing with Hebe and honestly this scene makes me want to sob and cry and weep

What if Dick was never adopted by Bruce, and he grew up under the Court's care then eventually grew out of it and into an independent presence in Gotham.

He knew Jason since he used to frequent a library that Dick somehow owned.

And then Jason disappeared with Bruce and then vanished completely from this life, leaving a devastated Dick in his wake, who then proceeded to avenge him but Bruce ended up reviving the Joker, but even then he was not really completely back as an able individual.

So after years Jason comes back and he's angry that someone outside the family took care of the Joker and deprived him of his own revenge.

So Jason decided to strike a relationship with the beautiful librarian of his youth, to get close to him and his alter ego as a get back at him. Except that Jason find he is actually quite in love with this person. He is utterly sweet with him and gives Jason such a soft kind of love that Jason had always needed but never really got in his life...

So Jason Todd and Dick Grayson build a happy and wholesome relationship between the two of them.

That, as long as the sun shines high in Gotham's skies.

At its nights though..

Red Hood can't really hold the darkness that crawled back up with him, from his grave and the pit. And Talon can't help the immense guilt of failing Jason over and over again. So they enter an un-negotiated bdsm/ D/S relationship.

As long as they are wearing their masks Red Hood is allowed to use Talon however he wants. And Talon accepts the abuse, relishes even. It's his penance.

They live this double kind of life, and they don't talk about it at all in any way.

Until Jason eventually almost crosses a borderline that might have cost Dick his life or mobility. A thing that finally sparked real fear in Dick's heart of what Jason is capable of and how broken he is. A thing that grows a distance not only between Talon and Red Hood, but between Dick and Jason too.

So, how do you think they are going to face this from now on?

Something i wonder about a lot is

Is the gojo clan located in Kyoto? Just like the zenin and kamo clan? Did satoru grow up in Kyoto

If so then why didn’t he go to the Kyoto school instead of the Tokyo one?

Was it because tengen is located at the Tokyo school? So it would be better if he was around the same place as her because of the whole tengen SPV and six eyes users being connected by fate

There’s also the fact that satoru may have wanted to be far away from the gojo clan because from the looks of it he probably doesn’t have the best relationship with them

Do not ever underestimate my capacity to make writing as difficult as possible for myself. This is why I am immune to AI usage. I cannot do anything "the easy way" or I will feel like it's too simplistic and fails to fully encompass the "vision". I have been trying for three years to write a cohesive, somewhat high-concept but overall standard fantasy novel, and I finally got a bit of the rewriting done for it today, and then promptly was like, "Actually this requires building out an entire experimental form that requires an above average capacity for typesetting and a lot of skill with poetic symmetry to convey the precise sense of disorientation you are trying to accomplish."

And the worst part is, I'm probably gonna do it.

it's fun to look through datamined stuff but I need some of you to stop getting mad at larian for scrapping ideas you thought were cool. cool doesn't mean it'll make sense in the overarching story, and maybe larian likes this version better, or sometimes ideas just didn't work well with what they had in mind. I know this first hand from writing stories, I'll have cool ideas but realize later it doesn't fit the original tone of the story. it's okay to scrap stuff, but you can always use it for something else.

also, like it or not, it's larians game first, their story, their characters (I know.), it doesn't matter if we think something is cool, the reality is that not everything works in the end. and that's fine. that's how all art is, it's alive and ever-shifting, it'll go through many, many, versions, to the point where you might get sick of chewing on the same plot, and in the end the final version might not be as good as you thought when you look back in a few months or years. and that's ok. art isn't supposed to be perfect.

everything is subjective and I think fandoms would be a more intellectual place if people learned to critique art for what it is not what it isn't.
