i think the problem (?) is that the only kind of (fictional?) love that interests me is the kind of love that changes the world. the kind of love that derails the narrative, the kind of love that changes everything -- not necessarily by how special or unique the love is but by the very mundanity of it. the love that grows, not in spite of the barren lovelessness of Before, but out of it. i think that's why I'm always so invested in ships that are two people diametrically opposed to each other, or enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, or two people on separate sides of the morality issue coin, because i love it when love... not that it changes a person but it allows the person to Become. the space, the grace, to change. to love the monster, to love the unlovable and the intolerable, is to make it something other than a monster, than unlovable, than intolerable. i love it when being loved at your worst, ugliest, most horrible self is what makes you want to be someone worth loving. like is this ANYTHING to anyone or

God, she was despicable. A predatory lesbian, a rotting opportunist clawing greedily for more than she was due, looking at her innocent friend like a piece of meat to dissect and consume.
Spy hadn’t wept in years. She didn’t now. But -
Some spy she was. She couldn’t even lie to herself anymore.
Spy wept.

So the animation I talked about in my last post is *ALMOST* done. All the frames are good, I just need to clean it up a little.
But until then have references for some of the characters appearing in it
There are also two other characters in it named Hailey and Carmen. But I’m not done with their references just yet. (Besides they’re only in a few frames).
(Also keep in mind their designs will be simplified for anything animated. Obviously. Especially Anna, LOL).

now that it's the next day and im less annoyed, two things i thought was interesting in the mexican adaptation--
when the gaslighting arc starts, lety's like 'yeah we should go back to omar's place' and fernando, instead of being excited about it, he's scared bc she had told him various times she didn't want to bc of 'guilt'. so he's in the bathroom pacing, worried bc 'this isn't like her'. which i thought was funny.
when they go to the event and she tells him she needs to leave bc someone came to get her, he assumes its her dad and he immediately is like 'i'll talk to him' and she says 'no , it's tomas' and he grabs her hands and she pulls back and says 'ppl can see' and he says 'i dont care'. she insists she's leaving and he can't make her stay bc they're not at work. but he doesn't care and drags her away.
that is as 'dark' as the scene gets. bc the next scene its back to light hearted comedy where he's flirting with her again. they really don't want to go there with him (making him crazy), which is disappointing.
