Elias Blackwood
(he/him)
Class: Oathbreaker of Devotion Paladin
Race: High Half-Elf
Age: 32 years
Background: Folk Hero
Game Progression: Middle of Act 3
Elias grew up in the small village of Goldenfield, raised by his mother and father. Mama took care of the home while Papa, a cavalier, would go away on crusade. He also has one younger sister, Elora, who was born eight years after he was. After his father failed to return home from a crusade, he decided to devote his life to becoming the best paladin he possibly could. He trained for years, practicing on his dummy and fighting off monsters and fiends to keep his hometown safe, while also helping his mother raise his sister, who was only three when their father passed. When he was in his early twenties, Elias moved to Baldur’s Gate to start his career as a paladin. His first night in the city, he went to The Blushing Mermaid and met Leila, a rogue half elf. Although they were never in a relationship, he considers her to be his first love. They were in each other's lives for over ten years, even sharing a home and a bed together. One day, the two were out on a mission beyond the city limits and were attacked by a pack of gnolls. Leila lost her life in this fight, and Elias blames himself for her death. If he had just been a bit more courageous, didn’t miss his swings, then he could have saved her. Leila currently serves as his Dream Guardian, adding on to his ever-building grief after losing her.

In Act I, Elias makes a poor lapse of judgement and decided to attack a bugbear in the goblin camp. The creature wasn’t aggravated, but he thought that it would if he stayed around long enough, so he wanted to get the battle over with. Because of his actions, he broke his Oath of Devotion. The Oathbreaker Paladin paid him a visit, and gifted him Oathbreaker powers, along with a slightly altered (hotter) look.

Just outside of Rosymond Monastary, Elias (32) ran into Elora (24), who he had not seen in over ten years. They would still write letters to keep in touch, but she became worried when he stopped returning her letters. Worried for the worst, Elora set off to go find her brother and hopefully bring him back to Goldenfield, as their mother had fallen ill and needed his help. She had wanted to be just like her older brother and trained to become a strong fighter. Elora asks to join her brother's party and to help with whatever mission they are on. Elias accepts, adding her to the troupe with open arms and a strange story about how a tadpole was placed in his head. (If she could she'd probably want to romance Karlach but this page isn't about her!!!)

Over the course of his adventures, he’s had three hair styles: short and trimmed, a little loose, and all grown out

Near the middle of Act 3, Elora received a sending from a family friend that their mother has passed away. She is devastated due to the loss and takes it out on her brother, because he refused to go back home to spend her final days as a family. Elias tried to explain that his life was at risk with the tadpole and that removing it was his number one priority. Their conflict drove a wedge in their sibling relationship, and they didn’t speak for days. They finally spoke after defeating Orin the Red at the Temple of Bhaal, where it was Elora who actually knocked the changeling into the abyss below the temple. They both apologized for their cruelty towards each other, recognizing that they were the only family members they had left. Their friendship is stronger now due to all that they’ve gone through!
He is currently in a loving and devoted relationship with Shadowheart and they are so cute together that I want to cry about it. Watching them grow so much as individuals and as a couple has been adorable, and I know that post-game they spend the rest of their half-elven lives together. 🩷

I took a long hiatus from Skyrim and have only recently come back to it. I am just now becoming acquainted with all of the new content added with the Anniversary Edition.
Tumblr media
I've been playing Skyrim in survival mode with my Nord character, Einar Stone-Fist. Einar Stone-Fist is a native of Skyrim whose family hails from Helgen. Einar was in Cyrodil working as a mercenary when he heard news that his brother had been killed by bandits. He returned to Skyrim to seek vengeance against the bandit leader Havjarr Iron-Hands, when he was captured not far from the Cyrodil border by Imperial soldiers.
Einar Stone-Fist is a worshipper of Talos with no love for the Thalmor or the Empire. He blames Jarl Balgruff's weakness and loyalty to the Empire for the abundance of bandits in Whiterun.
This is Einar Stone-Fist at level 17, standing outside of his plantation near Rurikstead, called Goldenfields.

Here he is, the current and very coy solider residing in Goldenfields, and the recipient of a very obvious crush curtesy of Nettle. This is Yousef! You've seen him before! Initially stuck in a well after being ambushed by Orcs, he was saved by our Party, and quickly became a favourite NPC.

Some more fun facts about Lark:
Lark is half Uthgardt on her mother's side. Her Wild Magic is also passed down on her mother's side. However, she doesn't identify with her Uthgardt heritage because her mother was exiled from her tribe. She only knows to stay away because of the Uthgardt mistrust of arcane magic.
Her father is from Goldenfields and went to Silverymoon's magic academy to become a wizard. The white raven who used to follow her as her "familiar" was actually her father's familiar and carried a sliver of her father's soul.
Lark speaks with what we would consider a Welsh accent.
The Prism Bearers were not her first adventuring party. When she was 24 years old she started with a group out of Neverwinter.
From her original adventuring party she has kept memento mori of those close to her who have died. She has her father's history books, her deceased lover's sketchbook, a carved sparrow meant for her little brother, the Oath book of the party's Paladin, among others.
She has a scar on her chest from where she was killed in battle but was resurrected by a priestess of Torm 10 years before the events of Baldur's Gate 3.

18, 26, and 37 for whatever ship is currently eating your brain. :)
Ship Meme
that would be gale/tav (or technically gale/ophelia but i don't rly do default names in rpgs). bg3 spoilers btw!
18. Who confessed?
Somewhat debatable. The two circle around each other like a regency ballroom dance, with Ophelia making the first explicitly non-platonic move, but in-game circumstances causing (several) delays to anything coming of it. It's ultimately Gale who confesses to being in love with her. While he had good reason to believe she had feelings for him, it was still a leap to confess love, but it was also something he needed to impart before he died.
26. What’s ONE location that’s important to them?
The banks of the Chionthar where they made their first camp. Its' importance to them isn't fully realised until the epilogue, when they return there to reunite with their friends. They changed the trajectory of each other's lives by those waters.
And even tho the question calls for just one answer, I also want to share one that doesn't appear in-game: the abbey at Goldenfields. It's a stop they make shortly after the games events, en route to Waterdeep. The connection with both Waterdeep and the druids (being dedicated to the goddess Chauntea, who Ophelia worships) give them immediate ties to it. And while I haven't exactly decided what happens there, I think it gives them their first taste of what their life as adventurers will be like.
37. Describe one reunion after time apart.
For the Drama (tm) I like to think of Gale's reunion with Mystra at the Stormshore Tabernacle the better part of a day from Ophelia's perspective. It's not a long time apart, but the context (reuniting not only with an ex, but someone who encouraged him to kill himself to save the realm/magic) makes it a fraught few hours.
Ophelia possesses enough confidence to convince herself that she'll still have Gale's affection when it's through. Nearly, anyway. Gale isn't quiet about her finer qualities, and has assured her that while he hasn't forgotten his feelings for Mystra, it was always doomed to end in heartbreak for him. At the point where he's at the tabernacle he is bitter, and no doubt hardened against any lingering affection. But she was his lover for ten years, to Ophelia's weeks. There is some degree of insecurity she feels.
Furthermore, a mere message from her, not even directly from her, was enough to convince Gale he had to die. Whatever influence she exerts over him still is... questionable, even if it is no longer romantic. She's not sure what Gale will come back believing needs to happen.
This is a long-winded way of saying she's stressed the whole of the time. When he reappears she is clingy in ways she hasn't been before. Her possessive side is subtle, but present. They're a little out of sync. For the first time in a long time, Gale is thinking about the future, while Ophelia (who before this tended to encourage that) is entirely in the present. It speaks to the newness of the relationship, that despite being a good match, there are matters they need to learn how to address gracefully.

hi!! giving you an opportunity for some sasha propaganda (i think he's a really cool character and i love wild magic sorcerers!)
what's your favorite in game moment with him?
Hey, thanks!
I unfortunately just started playing Sasha recently, and he hasn't done a whole lot yet. But I cannot emphasize how much this guy is just a normal little dude who was kidnapped for Reasons and now is stuck in the Underdark with a bunch of weirdos. He'd never used his magic to hurt someone before, and he had to use it on a guard, and he feels SO BAD about it.
You can vote for Sasha HERE! (Or for Praxis. He's pretty cool too.)
Here's a picture of his kids who want you to vote for their daddy.
Tumblr media
Here's some more stuff for anyone interested, but if you are Celeste or Jack, don't read this because it's SPOILERS for his backstory.
So, I kind of lied about Sasha being a normal guy. He's not really that normal. I mean, he is just a regular guy NOW, but he didn't start out that way. See, he's actually a drow anomaly known as a szarkai, which means (in our campaign, anyway) he was born with "opposite" coloring -- his hair is dark and his skin is pale. That means he's the perfect candidate to be a spy on the surface for the drow.
And that's what he was raised to be. And he did it for a while, too! But his spying brought him to the little town of Goldenfields, where he met a tiefling named Elliot and fell in love with him. ;w; He ended up getting married and working in his husband's bakery and having two daughters with Elliot and...well, not wanting to be a spy anymore. The drow didn't like that so much, so they kidnapped him and planned to execute him.
Currently, he's stuck in the Underdark with a bunch of strangers who were also kidnapped by the drow, but they're all in the process of escaping now.
He is a wild magic sorcerer, but he hasn't even had a chance to find that out yet!
