I know better and yet I decide to torture myself anyway by reading the comments on mental health awareness/positivity posts. Without fail, about two or three comments in, the 'scary' illnesses are tossed into the incinerator and anyone who tries or argue or offer information is called an enabler and/or told that their illness is their fault and everything they've worked hard to fix is for nothing.

And honestly? It's on my last damn nerve.

Everybody out there calling for changes with mental healthcare, encouraging folks to go to therapy, to better themselves - what have ye - until someone has a Symptom. I personally get to see these things against myself (as I have an alphabet soup of things).

For people who claim to care about other people and ending the stigma around mental illnesses, some folks really do like adding more stigma and demonizing the Lesser Illnesses.
