It hits him while he’s washing his face.

Scott is just. There, in the bathroom, in front of the sink. There’s bits of kelpie gunk on the sides of the sink from where he’s rubbed his face to get rid of it. Scott looks at it and can barely find it in himself to feel disgust, let alone guilt. His face is wet, water droplets rolling down his cheeks and onto his chin like tears.

He looks at his reflection and he doesn’t recognize the person looking back. It’s weird, because Scott remembers looking at himself yesterday just like he’s doing now, and he knew exactly who he was. Now… the person staring back is a stranger wearing his face. He has the same hair, the same jawline, the same eyes. But no matter how similar, whoever it is that is looking back at him is unknown.

The person looking back at him hurts people. The person looking back at him is selfish. The person looking back betrays, and uses, and is so, so cruel. Scott has said and done things that should horrify him, that would have horrified him a year ago. He said a family deserved to die in a fire. He violated a person’s autonomy. He was ready to kill a man because it benefited him. He left his best friend, his brother, to fight by himself so many times because he was too busy with a girl.

It scares him. It scares the hell out of him because Scott thought he’d be the kind of person who makes good choices in tough situations. He thought he wouldn’t change if he were to get power, and responsibilities. He thought he would still be kind.

But tonight he killed that kelpie without so much as hesitating. He saw it, and he lunged for it before he could even comprehend what he was doing. And yeah, the kelpie had been killing people, but Scott— Scott’s supposed to be better than that. He’s supposed to be the good one.

Derek had looked surprised. Concerned, even. Stiles had called out to him almost hesitantly, had stopped before his hand couch touch Scott’s shoulder. Scott hadn’t understood why until now.

What has he become?

(A monster, his mind whispers. And really, can Scott truly refute it?)

A look into what Scott could have been, had his character arc to become a true alpha in s3 been different.

sorry, sorry but Sky of Honey has me thinking about so much. Like Ma Kent calling because she recognized her boy from the tabloid photos and when was Clark going to bring his mate over for dinner???

Clark has a LOT on his plate right now and he forgot to call his mom! Very bad, I know. But also he’s suddenly Pack Alpha to the most chaotic of Packs and if he takes his eyes off them for more than a few minutes, they steal super weapons and try to kill god!

Also he just had a shock rut. I think sometimes fics downplay the dubious consent of cycles and how they also affect alphas. Clark is still not back to 100% and there’s a lot of him that’s still recovering. Bruce too!

Venetia Blue, my MC from @barbwritesstuff very wonderful werewolf action-adventure-romance, Blood Moon. It has amazing characters who are dynamic, flawed and deeply lovable with a variety of personalities and beliefs; it has paranormal politics of several flavours; it has magic and amazing side characters that are impossible not to love; and it has a terrific end-game showdown that is very satisfying. I've been kicking my feet and giggling, gasping in outrage, and generally enjoying the variation within the story for a few days now, and Venetia's been the winner of "most canonical run". Name: Venetia Jaqueline Blue

Pronouns: She/Her

Height: 155.5cm/5'1"

Age: 26

Appearance: a short, curvy woman with fair, freckled skin and green eyes. Her hair is a natural light blonde, slightly wavy, falling to about her collar bones. She usually wears in a single braid or if she takes the time, vintage waves.

Venetia prefers fairly practical dress, with a lot of purple, brown, and denim. She can be easy to spot on cooler days though, thanks to a strange and distinctly quirky patchwork jacket she likes to wear (she made it herself).

As a wolf, Venetia somewhat curiously most resembles a Husdon Bay Wolf, with a smaller build and light yellow-and-white colouring. The first time she shifted in front of the pack Marco declared her "barely toasted marshmallow" coloured.

Biography

Born on Oct. 31st, 1993 to a small but relatively wealthy clan Venetia's childhood was very pleasant. Owning a private fig farm, the pack managed to keep well funded without interacting much with the outside world, bar farmer's market's and deliver drivers come the advent of internet selling.

Venetia herself grew up relatively alone, a quirk of the pack's generations meaning she was born a decade behind the older children and a decade before the youngest. She spent much of her time with the pack elders, who were happy to encourage a voracious learner. They encouraged her so much in fact Venetia was the first in the pack to attend post-secondary school. She left school after only two years however, as the pack's official educator passed somewhat unexpectedly leaving behind several young students.

Venetia served as the pack educator herself for three years, a job that was a good fit as she's always liked children. It all came crashing down however one day when she returned from an early-morning hunt-slash-run. When she got back, armed with a couple of pheasants, she found only the smell of death and rotting flowers, an unusual heavy frost, and a damning silence.

Venetia spent the next three years as a stray, haunted by a formless loss. She preoccupied herself initially with dead-end investigations, which eventually gave way to her disappearing into a national park. She came back to herself after three months in her wolf form, when she found herself following not a deer or rabbit, but an unwitting camping family. Horrified, that was the moment that lead to her core conviction:

She's a person, not a monster and she will not the wolf of the moon win.

Not that Venetia is a self-hating werewolf, no she quite likes her wolf, so long as it's her and not the moon driving her. It's a balance she didn't really find until Alek and the pack accepted her in however, for the preceding two and a half years in fact Venetia resisted shifting except for moons for the most part.

During those years, she coped with her loneliness the only way she knew how: hobbies. Sewing, car repair, fixing radios, carving, learning French, etc. Venetia jumped from item to item, stubbornly conquering skills and projects before moving on to the newest thing. This does make her a very handy packmate: it's likely that even if Venetia doesn't have an exact skill needed for an odd job, she something transferable (and she's great at finding resources to help her learn).

In the city, Venetia saw it as a sort of job to really help out as her time as a stray often meant coming into bigger cities to avoid wandering into another pack's territory. Her decision to try for Alpha--and the reason she got it, was similar. Smart and patient, Venetia's only priority was keeping the pack together and thriving, even when she only had a handful of moons with the pack under her belt.

her native language is Welsh, she didn't learn English until she was around 12 years old

her mother named for a novel she once read, despite hating the novel itself

grew up on the coast so has a taste for fish and shellfish

worked at over 32 different places during her stray-days, but the bulk of these (more than half) were "work for board" style planting/harvesting operations

her longest stray-days job was as a yoga instructor at a Wiccan run spa-retreat, they were very sympathetic to her need to take full moons off

is allergic to bug bites, to her IMMENSE frustration

Y'all are gonna think I'm so weird.

But I'm running with this idea I've had for a while for my mcl ocs. Well, other than the actual other mcl ocs I've made.

It's part lazy, part bizarre.

Clones.

Yep, clones.

My MCL NG oc is a clone of the original Puku, but different. I haven't figured out the details yet, but it's like what I did with Pukun, Puku's male clone. It has the idea of a type of clone theory idea of nature vs nurture. The DNA and nature of the puku clones is the same, but the nurture is always a bit different depending on circumstances. Puku "prime" is the parent of all the clones made, but Puku "prime" had a different parentage and upbringing than the clones. Not to mention, the events of each mcl game has different outcomes for clone Puku.

This Puku has -teal- hair and is a zoomer, I guess. Raised by Puku "prime" and has the existential grappling of dealing with being a clone in general.

There's... still a lot of ironing out to do. Like... Where does Kentin fit into all this? How should I incorporate the family given to Puku 2.0 in New Generation?

Made a really long rambly post about omegaverse Vesper and what it means to me but it got really dramatic and kinda venty so I'm gonna try again but shorter.

I think the most impactful thing is that because omegaverse runs on primal instincts, a lot of things are taken more seriously than they are in real life. Submission, vulnerability, weakness, coddling and comfort, those are an omega's needs. They're not wants or desires or preferences. They're needs, and they're treated with the seriousness of needs.

When omega Vesper feels overwhelmed and anxious he needs someone else, a pack mate, to recognize it and help him calm down. He doesn't always want that, what he wants is to hide and not let anyone see him. But what he needs is help, and so he's given help. When he's feeling worthless because he made a mistake or feels like he hasn't been productive enough he needs someone to just pull him into their lap and tell him how good he is, how much he's wanted. He doesn't request that, but they can tell that he needs it, so he gets it. When he's feeling overwhelmingly lonely and replaceable what he needs is for an alpha to re-affirm their claim by refreshing the mark on his neck. It's not a desire, he sometimes finds it embarrassing, but he needs it. He needs to be vulnerable. He needs to have time during his busy and stressful life to be submissive, so he can just relax without having to make decisions or have responsibilities. He wants to be needed, but he NEEDS to be wanted.

And by making these things needs rather than wants it validates them significantly. It removes the fear, from an outsider's perspective, that the pack is going to find Vesper too tiring or his emotions too much to deal with. Vesper is anxious, but we know that his pack is just making sure his needs are met, no different from making sure their partner is eating and sleeping every day. These vulnerabilities are not extra, they're not more emotional labor than anyone signed up for. Everybody knows that these are things that omegas need, so there's no question that the pack will meet those needs happily and genuinely.

My personal favourite part of bdubs’ title is the fact that Etho does the bare minimum to “take care of him” in the episode, I was half expecting they’d run away together but no Etho just gets Joel to babysit bdubs and then fails to fishing rod rescue him out of the cow pit??? And that’s what bdubs chooses to focus on with his title and thumbnail??? I wish I understood him

I literally don't know what to do with his etho obsession anymore. We got he loves me in LL. I'm always insane abt their multiple jokes that span over a decade. everyone knows he's like theeee ethogirl originale. he rubs his happy marriage in ethos face in DL and then immediately says "I want Etho" while planning to homewreck as a survival strategy because allying with someone you're not soul bound is better if their other half hates you....? this does not stop him from spreading lies ABOUT ETHO because love is stored in ruining your friends alliances. etho moves into his basement in another world and he has to stop himself from saying obviously it's yours before he's like told etho officially he doesn't mind and then locks him in there while beginning to institute a new government, the king of which lives upstairs. back to the world where he offers etho a bed to sleep with him and his soulmate (who is not etho), he makes his episode about etho for the second time in a row and then gaybaits the title which when played reveals he's like extremely content to play the helpless child because "ethos taking care of me" is literally "ethos calls me short and forces his soulmate to babysit me and I pretend to be both their nephews for the bit" while, presumably, he still intends to split them up. so that etho will come sleep with him I am not exaggerating he said that with his real human mouth.

and ethos pathetic fucking rescue attempt as you said which ALSO parallels MULTIPLE occasions etho has used fishing rod pillar kills to help bdubs out of death game problems the earlier of which was the last time bdubs built basically the exact same house. do not get me started on the snowfort stairs. and the way they were most ride or die but never did go red together bc they never ever considered giving up the fun of pretending they would betray each other to admit to being the boogeyman or not truthfully even tho a coordinated kill+assist team would have been crazy.

the only explanation is what we already knew which is they are low key obsessed with each other. in that they don't technically have to be each others focus 100% of the time but if they don't have some fucked up weirdo dynamic neither of them will fully explain to one another or their audience bc you're supposed to just vibe with it. makes me so fucking sick I can't stand it I don't know whats got into him lately was it the hiatus or what but every little crumb he's like yeah this is my buddy. look at him being [actually incomprehensible relationship status thats never the same twice??????????] to me or I'll blow this whole fucking place up (on accident)

There are very few characters in Teen Wolf that actually deserve hate. The list can differ from person to person, and if we dig deep enough - we'll find sad truths about all of our favs, but one thing I can say for sure:

This show doesn't have unredeemable leads, they're just a bunch of scared kids. Literally every bad decision they make can be explained by their age, so being mad at them for this is, admittedly, dumb. However...

I mentioned before that they have responsibilities, some more than others. The impact they make? Fighting things that are older than the things they're learning in school? That might be quite a lot sometimes.

We saw them being manipulated by adults for 6 seasons straight, being betrayed by the same people over, and over, and over... They learned to forgive, but rakes still hit them in the nose every goddamn time. And they got used to swallowing the consequences instead of fixing their messes. As the teenagers do.

They didn't know what the hell they were doing and each and every one of them ended up with their hands painted with blood. Unintentionally or not.

Feel free to accuse them of things they did (that's the whole point of their flaws being shown), because keeping them accountable ain't necessary a bad thing.
