Prompt 39: “Don’t cry.”
Systems online. Functional capacity thirty percent.
Enough to see by. Enough to feel by. Blue groaned low as new, unfamiliar sensation flooded his neural net, seeming to overload every sensor he had. He forced his optic system online and saw nothing but static.
“Sensory overload,” a voice said, before he could do anything. “Your first, I am assuming.”
“What did you do?” Distorted and warped, Blue’s own voice cracked with this sensation. It was not a pleasant sensation; it tingled at his hands-- he couldn’t move any of his limbs-- and crawled through his insides. It . . . hurt. “What did you do?”
His vision cleared, and there was Dark, crouching in front of him, looking smug. In one hand he held a hammer, in the other he held a pair of pliers. Both flickered gray in his dismal grip. Their surroundings were gray, too; primarily concrete. This data indicated they were in the garage.
“I upgraded you,” Dark said.
“That is . . . incorrect.” More sensation threatened to drown him. His eyes prickled with an unknown liquid.
“Don’t cry.” With a nearly gentle touch, Dark reached out and swiped the tears from Blue’s face with his thumb. “I merely installed a few sensors and dampened your emotional regulators. Coded them into your software.”
“There is no purpose to doing so.” At least he could be confident in this. “I am already the optimal version of myself.”
Dark’s gaze hardened, and his mouth tightened into a hard, black slash. “You don’t remember, do you? What you did?”
Blue searched his memory banks, but only came up with a few fuzzy pieces of half-data. Numbly, he shook his head--
Which immediately snapped to the side, pain exploding through his left temple as Dark slammed the hammer into his forehead.
“Maybe that will enlighten you,” he snarled, and relaxed, turning the hammer so he could examine its shiny, blunt end. “But if it doesn’t, worry not. I will not harm you beyond repair. This is punishment, plain and simple.
But I wanted you to feel it.” Sneering, Dark leaned in, close to his face, close enough to kiss. “I want you to feel every. Single. Thing that I do to you--” he traced the blunt end of the hammer along Blue’s jaw-- “And I want to hear you scream.”
“Why?” Vision static-laced with pain, voice static-laced with tears, Blue squinted at the entity who was about to take him apart. “What did I do?”
Dark sat back on his heels. His smile was bland. “Why, because you dared to kiss me, of course.”

Google Released Dark Mode for Chrome | How Can I Do ?
Tumblr media
TECHNOLOGY NEWS - We have been following the development of an official Dark Mode for the Google Chrome browser for some weeks, and today that new feature is finally available to all on Mac, Windows, and Linux.
Tumblr media
The feature is similar to the Dark Theme in Incognito mode, and responds to the Theme selected in the operating system.
Tumblr media
The feature does not appear to be fully developed for Windows yet, but can be enabled like this: Right click on its shortcut on the desktop and select Properties Add --enable-features=WebUIDarkMode --force-dark-mode string in the Target field after “chrome.exe” (see the screenshot below).
Tumblr media
On launching the browser you should be able to see the dark version of the browser. Besides the Dark Mode, the update also brings along a number of other changes and improvements including improvements in synching and account sign-in, support for media hardware keys, and auto Picture in Picture. https://youtu.be/ksWDVurubwE source : mspoweruser.com Read the full article

Egotober- Day 17
Prompt: Bright
Pairing: Dark/Google
---
Dark summoned Blue to his office at 1:32:18 AM. This wasn’t an odd occurrence, as Dark rarely slept and thus had little concept of time. Blue calculated that this was about an issue in security, or perhaps merely a routine check-in.
When he reached Dark’s office, however, he found he was wrong on both counts.
The entity was slumped over his desk, his head buried in his arms. He didn’t respond as Blue entered, and a quick scan indicated high levels of cortisol and epinephrine.
“Dark. You are stressed, and in a lot of pain. I suggest you-”
“Shut up.” Dark muttered. His form blurred, the edges of it crawling with red for approximately 2.15 seconds before it was overtaken by a flash of cyan blue. “Turn the lights off.”
“The lights?” Blue glanced up, registering that the overhead lights weren’t on, and hadn’t been for the last 24 hours, at least.
“It’s too bright in here.” The words sounded like they’d been ground through clenched teeth, and they shook as Dark flickered violently back and forth, his aura flooding red again. He lifted his head, only to drop it back down again with a pained hiss. “Turn them off, Blue!”
“I see that immediate action is required.” Sensitivity to light indicated a migraine, which required rest and painkillers. Blue advanced, crossing the room in a few short strides. “I will escort you to your bedroom, Dark.”
“Did you not hear me?” Dark snapped, though there was very little bite to his tone and he didn’t resist when Blue reached out to touch him. “I have work to do, you useless robot.”
“I am not a robot, I am an android,” Blue answered automatically, then shook his head. “You are experiencing a migraine, Dark, likely brought on by lack of sleep and too many long hours working-”
“Shut up.” Blue did, taking Dark’s arm and helping him from his desk chair. The entity’s knees immediately gave way and he crumpled into Blue with a grunt of pain. Even in the dark Blue could see the sheen of sweat breaking out on his forehead.
“I am going to pick you up now,” Blue said, and scooped him into his arms, cradling Dark to his chest. He took care to dim the glow and whirring of his core, so as not to disturb him too much. “I will take you to your bedroom, and administer you eight hundred milligrams of Ibuprofen. I will not turn the lights on. You will rest.”
While he talked, Dark remained silent; his body jerked and twitched occasionally, his aura a mottle of red and cyan blue. He seemed to slump into Blue’s arms, and when the android was finished he gave an exhausted sigh and closed his eyes.
“Fine,” he muttered. “But if you tell anyone about this, you will find yourself looking at your own inner circuitry.”
Blue remained silent. Dark knew he could not tell anyone what had happened tonight. And, he found, as he glanced down at him, his head lolling against his chest and his face contorted with pain, he found he didn’t want to.
