Week 10 of posting a Sunday on Sundays. This time a little animatic that I made

Note
Moon.. I've come back for the 3rd time...
I came across someone who said that Sunday's wings are clipped, and it got me thinking. A bird with clipped wings usually has impaired flight. So what does this mean for Sunday?
He could have done it to himself as a form of self-restraint to stop him from getting distracted by temptations and to stick to getting towards his goal. However, that.. It wouldn't make sense, not for me anyway. For a man who wishes that he could fly with his sister, it would be a rather acontradictory action.
No, wait. He certainly could have done it due to his self-destructiveness. He feels as if he himself does not deserve the privilege and the freedom to be able to fly because he does not matter. All he is supposed to do is reach his goal and make the people in penacony not have to be burdened by the harshness of reality, all of that for the exchange of himself. If this were true, then in the end, he became the very bird he wanted to cage in order to protect.
hhgKHQH but then there's Mr. Gopherwood.. according to research, there are some bird owners and trainers who choose to cut primary feathers to inhibit flight. So what if Sunday was forced to have his wings clipped because of the dreammaster, to control him, to ground him?
It could take months or even years for a previously clipped bird to heal, depending on the severity of the clip and how long its wings were clipped. Even then, if the birds wings were cut incorrectly, it may never be able to fly ever again. Perhaps this is why he said, "We were supposed to fly into the sky together," followed by him saying, "If only I could.", because he meant it both literally and figuratively.
In the end, no matter the reason, Sunday is still a bird trapped in a cage, unable to spread its wings and fly.
Hello nonnie! Always happy to have returnees, haha.
Also, this is very neat. Heartbreaking of course, but very neat.
I personally don't believe Sunday's clipped wings came to be as a form of self-harm. But I could be wrong? Majorly, I believe it would mainly be attributed to more of a symbolization, and some "incident" that would happen that follows it.
The analysis about gopher wood doing to to sunday seems more plausible, although that's also a bit conflicting in my opinion. If gopher had directly clipped sunday's wings, I feel as though sunday would have much more built up resentment towards him, despite as a reverent dreammaster. However, at the same time, sunday was highly manipulated by him, so perhaps he never did anything about it. In the end, I dont think gopher would have done it himself, at least not directly. Perhaps it must have been a form of punishment? A sort of "sacrifice" to be tethered to his responsibilities as the Head, instead of Robin who chose to become a singer? Maybe an accident? Who knows. But there's huge symbolization about him being the bird that can't fly, versus Robin soaring the skies, as they envisioned with the Charmony dove. It's also a huge thing with "staying safe and being taken care of in exchange for freedom" vs "risking everything in order to pursue what you want", it's a sort of condensation of their personal ideals.
Regardless, that's just how I feel. I could be wrong, because I don't think I'm that good at analyzing or such, lol. Anyways, this is very interesting to ponder about.

Noah and His Family Embarking Together with the Animals
Artist: Frans Francken the Younger (Flemish, 1581–1642)
Date: 1620-1629
Medium: Oil on copper
Collection: Musée de Tessé, Le Mans, France
The Bible’s Story of Noah’s Ark
A WICKED WORLD: The Lord saw how utterly wicked people on earth had become; every thought was only evil all the time. So God said, “I will destroy from the earth the people I have created. And with them, the animals, birds, and creeping things” (Genesis 6:5–7).
NOAH PLEASES GOD: But Noah found favor with God for he alone was righteous among the people of his day. Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And God said to him, “I will establish My covenant with you; you will go into the ark with your wife, your sons, and their wives” (Genesis 6:8–10, 18).
NOAH BUILDS AN ARK: God said to Noah, “I am going to destroy all flesh because the world is full of violence. Build an ark of gopherwood, with rooms inside, three decks, and a door. Cover it inside and out with pitch.” And Noah did exactly as God commanded him (Genesis 6:13–22).
THE ANIMALS COME TO NOAH: God also told Noah, “Take with you seven pairs of all clean animals, the male and his mate, and a pair of the animals that are not clean, the male and his mate, and seven pairs of the birds of the heavens also, male and female, to keep their offspring alive on the face of all the earth” (Genesis 7:2–3, ESV).
NOAH ENTERS THE ARK: So Noah and his family went into the Ark because of the coming Flood. And every land animal after its kind went with them, two by two, male and female, just as God had commanded. And the Lord shut the door (Genesis 7:7–16).
A FLOOD COVERS THE EARTH: Then the Flood began. The fountains of the deep broke open, and the windows of heaven were opened. Rain poured for forty days and forty nights. The waters rose until every high hill on the earth was covered. Everything that lived on land perished in the raging floodwaters (Genesis 7:17–24).
THE GREAT FLOOD SUBSIDES: The waters flooded the earth for one hundred and fifty days. And God remembered Noah and the animals on the Ark. The waters receded and the Ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat (Genesis 8:1–5).
NOAH SENTS OUT A DOVE: After sending out a raven, Noah sent out a dove to see if there was dry ground. But it came back having found nowhere to perch. After seven days, Noah sent it back out and it came back with a fresh olive leaf in its mouth. And Noah knew the ground was drying (Genesis 8:6–12).
NOAH LEAVES THE ARK: Then God told Noah, “Come out of the ark. And bring the animals with you so they can be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.” So Noah and his family came out with all the animals (Genesis 8:13–19).
GOD’s PROMISE NOT TO FLOOD THE EARTH AGAIN: Then Noah built an altar and offered burnt offerings to the Lord on it. And God said, “Never again will I curse the ground because of man or send a flood to destroy all living things, even though mankind’s heart is evil from childhood.” And God blessed Noah and his family saying, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth” (Genesis 8:20–22).

I can't sleep and I'm going through it so I'm gonna do what I do best: Yap.
So new Honkai Star Rail drip marketing happened and of course everyone is excited because not only is playable Sunday finally happening but we also now get to see what finally happened to Fugue (Tingyun) during the whole Phanttilia... Phantilya.... Phantylia.. Oh fuck it. Bad identity theft big lady.
WARNING: THIS POINT ON IS A RANT❗❗YOU ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO READ THIS AND I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FEELINGS AND THOUGHTS YOU GET FROM IT❗❗
Tumblr media
So I've seen a lot of people say that they're happy about Sunday's new design because it shows that he's happier and has grown as a character but I can't help but feel... Disappointed. See, the reason I was so interested in Sunday as a character was because to me he felt really complex morally and you don't see that a lot in games where "friendship is magic". The only other characters I can think of that kinda hit this mark were Sparkle and Gallagher but I have reasons for not liking them as much. Sparkle felt too much like " here's the crazy anime girl troupe you wanted" so I couldn't connect with her and Gallagher to me isn't so much morally complex as he is just mysterious and a bit confusing.
Another reason I really liked Sunday was because I'm so used to seeing the "villain turned to friend turned to that one guy we keep making fun of for jokes and no longer holds the same powerful aura he had" pipeline and when I saw him in the story I thought he was going to different, "there's no way this guy is going to change he's so attached to his beliefs"... And then the drip marketing dropped.
Now, I fully understand that Mr. Gopherwood manipulated him from adoption but to me that added to his character, and his depth. " oh what you don't wanna see him happy??? " well of course I do, and my single opinion certainly won't change that, I just wish that every antagonist we come across doesn't end up being redeemed all the time. "But what about hoolay, what about phantwhatever, what about.. " those aren't going to be playable characters. I'm talking about those who the creators actually have in mind to be playable one day.
Another thing to add onto this, I think the new outfit kinda takes away from the religious and elegant undertones he had in his previous design. When I look at his old model, I think "oh this guy means business, he obviously has a presence and I need to respect him" but when I look at the new design I think "Hm.. Well he kinda looks like a weird scientist" and it throws me off how different they are.
At the end of the day this is purely opinionated and everyone can have their own take on this, I just wanted to keep my mind off of whatever it is stopping me from sleeping right now. Feel free to discuss with me, just don't have hostile intentions lol.

I love your interpretation of sunday and gopherwood do you think you'll ever eventually turn those 2 into personal OCs?/gen
they are already basically ocs to be honest. But I prefer working within the framework of an already given story and design and changing small things over time rather than making up my own stories :) I don't have any ocs and haven't for a long time

Hey on topic of Sunday's clipped wings
Have you ever thought gopherwood could just clip wings of that lil birdie just so it never can fly or dies after trying and it was all his overly elaborate scheme

interesting details abt playable!sunday and the differences between that design and npc!sunday's design
npc!sunday has blue in his design but it's not front and center, it's covered by his symmetrical white jacket. his gloves are white, and have cross-shaped images. in general his design is very white and very symmetrical
playable!sunday's jacket is asymmetrical, and like the rest of his design, more blue. from the splash art we can see more gold is incorporated into his design. we can assume the cross-shaped images have been removed. in general playable!sunday's design is asymmetrical and much more blue.
now, what does this mean?
white = purity, holiness, innocence & rebirth
blue = peace/serenity and sadness
gold = wealth/power, but other sources said compassion, main colour of the 'embryo of philosophy'
looking at the colour differences, we can make a general idea of playable!sunday
white -> his ideals have been changed from what mr gopherwood ingrained into him, he is a changed person.
blue -> he is at peace with something. he is sad since he may never talk to robin ever again. blue is a colour used to make purple, and purple is part of robin's design; he wears blue to feel connected to robin. maybe he realized that to bring peace he must also be peaceful? he is a changed person, but he is still sad.
gold -> he is still compassionate, but in a way that is different from how he was as head of the oak family; ie he has moved on from wanting to create an endless paradise. maybe it is to represent the fact that he was the 'embryo of philosophy'
i wonder if he'll have scars from the chains we last saw him in
what are your guys' thoughts?

Something I noticed about halovians is that so far, only significant figures or “high ranking” halovians have head wings. I don’t know about the wings that comes from their backs tho
But bouncing off from that, if you look at Robin’s backstory, it shows both her and her brother having no back wings yet
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yet when they’re adults, they get back wings
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Credits to ZairaV for pointing out their wings on Reddit)
So it got me wondering if there’s a special criteria to getting the back wings in the first place. Because if we look at regular halovian npcs like Siobhan they only have halos
Tumblr media
The only halovians we know of so far, who has back wings and head wings are “high ranking,” Like Mr gopherwood or important halovians like Maeven Ellis
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While I don’t know much about Christianity or Catholicism, I do know that the more high ranked an Angel is, the more wings they get
But what determines if a halovian gets head wings or not, since Robin and Sunday are implied to have been born with it. And it’s a famous trait of regular halovians, as evidenced by the halovian donut that you can buy from the shop
So considering that, this implies that maybe there’s different types of halovians. That or halovians with wings are pure bloods. If this true, then maybe the back wings develops later on into puberty and into adulthood for pure bloods

Whats a big part of a cool boss fight that you feel gets neglected a fair bit?
What’s a big part of a cool boss fight that you feel gets neglected a fair bit? In my opinion, it’s presentation, which is essentially just the way your boss shows how cool they are and that they should be taken seriously. I can’t really get into your boss if they don’t have any style. An example of this done badly is in Destiny. I don’t feel any of the supposed power these big villains are meant to have. It falls flat (to me at least). I don’t feel the thrill of the battle. When the boss kinda just stands there and has two basic moves, I can’t feel the fun I’m meant to feel. For instance, the Witness is essentially just a stage hazard in his own fight in the campaign. Even in the raid and Excision, he’s got one move.Let’s compare this to a boss with beautiful presentation. Lucilius (both versions) from Granblue Relink. He literally starts the fight with a move called Paradise Lost (a poem about Lucifer becoming the Devil in Christian mythos). We already have some cool factor. He then descends to the ground and starts swinging his magic blades and firing lasers. He then makes you complete a bunch of trials, and failing any of them will either decrease your max HP, and the last one will recast Paradise Lost instead. His phase transitions are beautiful too, especially in the Zero version. He also has badass move names. You know you’re in for some scary moves when they’re named stuff like “Final Rebellion” “Gopherwood Ark” and “Nemesis”. Also, he has multiple boss themes. When his attacks are named after Bible references, it’s just cool, and it fits his character. He has an intimidation factor. Also, his final raidwipe game over move is just called “The End”. Comparing the two, it’s kinda crazy the difference in quality of presentation and how that influences my opinion on the boss. I don’t really remember or care about the boss with no presentation factor. It’s boring. It also comes down to the music. I want your music to be super cool and set the tone of the encounter. I don’t wanna hear the same orchestra theme like 50 times but a little different. In something like Metal Gear Rising for instance, the music sets the tone, and it lays out the boss’s motivations. Blade Wolf wants to be free from his programming, Monsoon is a nihilist who’s depressed from the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge, and Sam feels like he has little to no purpose in his life but to fight. It shows what the boss is feeling and their mindset. Sure, it doesn’t have to do this, but at least be unique and stylish.Anyway, that’s my rant. Presentation is very important to making your boss cool. Thx for listening to the TedTalk. Submitted August 09, 2024 at 11:43AM by Shadowbreak643 https://ift.tt/Pn2fpmX via /r/gaming

The Seofon HL trauma runs deep...
it really does this man fucking hit me with his car
but it goes double also for the few raids from Relink that are clearly inspired from the main game, like, just looking at Faa for instance.
It's really interesting to see how they translate the mechanisms of the turn by turn game, especially since there's stuff that can't be done in Relink.
Like Gopherwood Ark stood out to me as interesting. In Faa's raid, it's the point where he will knock out some party members if there's more than one character from a specific type in the party. For example if you have two Erune in your party, he'll knock out the first one.
But if you make your party for there to be one of each type in your party, Gopherwood Ark doesn't hurt you at all.
You can't possibly translate that in Relink, when you often match with random people and don't have a huge diversity type-wise (i mean there's only one primal and only one Erune in the game for now. Most of the cast are humans.).
So instead they translated Gopherwood Ark into being a very clear pattern attack that is very swift, but that Sandalphon comments on saying "it has an easy pattern, so it's easier to avoid".
I think it's a really clever way to do it since if you know about Gopherwood Ark you usually build your party to easily avoid it -- so here they make it a pattern that is also easier to avoid.
BUT AT THE SAME TIME when you look at how Paradise Lost work, to really give you an idea of why you always get a vibe check, it shows you a nearly impossible to dodge opening attack.
Or since it can't easily translate The End, instead they make it that when you fuck up your max HP is reduced to 1, so literally any blow will kill you, which will just make the critical bar move faster
.......................... WHICH IS ALL TO SAY.
That it really gives you an idea of how special attacks are being translated from the game.
and imagining Siete's raid mechanisms in Relink makes me want to cry because of that like fuck. Especially after seeing his playable kit in Relink.
horrible little man.
