*checks calendar* so I'm back after a little over a week. I honestly did not think it'd take me this long.

But voilà, I'm done! (With part 1 of maybe 3?) I did get very busy with school and whatnot, so I put off drawing for basically the whole week until I think Thursday(?).

I greatly appreciate all the compliments I got on this post, which was the start of all this! :) Thank you so much! I probably wouldn't have finished this part without them.

Some backstory because I think it's necessary: I got inspired by Love and Thorns on ao3 to create this little comic since the original fanfic broke me (I just needed a little fluff where Ivo is not so bad with his feelings).

But I'm off again to draw the next part. Will I be back in a week, maybe more? Who knows! But it's going to be a much happier post next >:).

Got a super rough blockout started, this is a super different style to what I'm used to, i've been meaning to get into more toony modelling and animation methods and am loving the expressions I can get out of this thing. hes so cool omg turbo 🥺

And here we have the artist who couldn’t be fucked to stay consistent during the shading stage and gave up midway through! So now you get a half rendered, half arsed drawing that combines regular shading + cel shading + flats + some other bullshit shading method that don’t go together. Enjoy.

Ermmm so I was a bit unsatisfied with how this illustration turned out so I touched it up….a bit…

For context, here’s what it looked like before when I thought I was done with the piece…

I wanted to bring back the original mood I was aiming for: Garroth’s uneasiness in filling in the shoes of his predecessors, paired with the growing anxiety of his mother’s safety (Zianna rescue arc).

And I felt that the first version of this illustration just didn’t capture that quite right. Here, it looks like a glorified, awe-striking, grandiose moment of Garroth’s life. I think with the new lighting that it captures the emotional undertones better while maintaining that awe and wonder with the divine warriors.
