Went to the château de Versailles
Photo 1: the Orangery built under Louis XIV to try to grow oranges and lemons. At the time, they were luxury fruits because they were not grown in France. They continue the tradition of keeping them under cover in winter and taking them out in summer. Some trees are over 200 years old!
Photo 2 : Look at the difference size between the golf cart and the trees !!!!
Photo 3, 4, 5 : The Grand Trianon marble colonnade and detail of the curtains.
Photo 6 : The Petit Trianon
Photo 7 : Cedre du Liban over 30 meters high and planted in 1840
Photo 8 : more garden
Photo 9 : Le Hameau de la Reine, Marie Antoinette safe heaven
Photo 10 : Temple de l'Amour / Temple of love 😍

Room known as the Empress’ Bedroom at the Grand Trianon in Versailles. Parade bed (1809) created after the design of Charles Percier (1764-1838) by the cabinetmaker Jacob Desmalter (1770-1841) for the imperial bedroom of Napoleon I at the Tuileries Palace from where it was transported to its current location in 1838. It was also the deathbed of Louis XVIII. This bed has been subject to several modifications. Its large escutcheon was altered several times and the layer was enlarged under Louis-Philippe. Original Empire balustrade (1810) by Pierre-Benoît Marcion (1769-1840). Marie-Louise selected the furniture in this room that remains to this day.

Here it is !
I haven't done all I wanted (walls, balustrade, pilars will be for the future maybe).
But for now I share with you many things needed to make your Empress Bedroom :)
You will find :
a round table -new mesh
a small round table (a "gueridon") - new mesh
a sideboard - new mesh
a dresser - new mesh
a dressing table or vanity - new mesh
a somno (nighstand) - new mesh
a meridienne ("pommier") - two versions for the symetry - new meshes
firescreen, armchair, bergere, chair, loveseat (recolors of my Napoleon's bedroom set you can find here)
a kind of laundry basket - new mesh
a lamp "bouillotte" - new mesh
the bedframe I already made years ago but upgraded - new mesh
the canopy (same as before, I add it in the set so you don't have to find it in my posts)

Dinner with the divorced couple
It was in December of that year (1809) that Napoleon stayed in these rooms for the first time, just after his divorce from Josephine. The daughter of his ex-wife, Queen Hortense, recalled a visit to the Emperor on Christmas Day: “[He] was moving to the Trianon Palace and made us promise to pay him a visit. I accompanied my mother. It was a touching encounter. The Emperor wanted her to stay for dinner. As usual, he took the seat opposite hers. It was as if nothing had changed […]  A profound silence prevailed. My mother could not bear to eat, and looked to be on the brink of fainting. The Emperor dried his eyes two or three times without saying anything, and we left immediately after dinner. "

CHÂTEAU DE CLAGNY (WIP) Part 2 - Interiors
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are no known images (at least, I haven't found it on the internet) of Clagny's interiors, with the exception of the Grande Galerie, the Chapelle and Madame de Montespan's bathroom. I've been told that Clagny, in relation to The Sims, would be like a "blank canvas". So I'm trying to let my imagination flow. My version of Clagny will obviously not be like the original, but rather how I would like it to be… Inspired, of course, by the baroque decoration of French palaces from that period.
Le Grand Salon or Grand Vestibule:
Tumblr media
It was the main entrance and was in the center of the château. From this room, one could proceed to the adjacent rooms to the right or left, or simply go out into the gardens.

Salle des Porcelaines:

To the right of the large hall, I joined two rooms that originally existed and created a kind of gallery, but I didn't want to simply decorate it with paintings or tapestries, so I remembered the Porcelain Trianon and filled this gallery with chinoiserie, as if it were a private collection by Madame de Montespan.
