𝑫𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒏 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚
𝐕𝐡𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐫
The large and vicious she-dragon was first ridden by Visenya Targaryen, the first sister-wife to Aegon Targaryen. The large dragon outlived Balerion the Black Dread and Meraxes, but she became too large for the world she once helped conquer. Her other known riders were Prince Baelon Targaryen, Lady Laena Velaryon and Prince Aemond Targaryen.
Vhagar was bronze and green in colour with a strong snout, a defined body, and a long thin tail. There aren’t many dragons with her particular facial shape. But her body resembles the traditional dragon-like model.
Out of the three Conquerors’ dragons, Vhagar was the smallest and youngest, with Balerion and Meraxes besting her in strength and scales. However, Vhagar was the only one of the three to survive and live to see the next four generations.

why is everyone so mad about aemond not being able to control vhagar-slash-luke not having that same control over arrax when daenerys had the same issues with drogon? to the point that she locked rhaegal and viserion up? these are wild animals. despite having that bond, yes, arrax burned her. not saying that seeing the dragon baby or luke’s death isn’t sad because i hated to see it but arrax obviously felt attacked due to the frightened nature of lucerys, who he is bonded to. and vhagar, a war veteran dragon, naturally attacked. ya’ll are so mad that aemond wasn’t evil when this last episode was meant to show character development? this isn’t the end of the dance, only the beginning. i, personally, would like to see what makes aemond bad. even still, show his own sense of morals or lacktherof. sit the fuck down. when things are adapted on screen years or months later, it is the creator’s directive to change what originally occurred. why? maybe because they have more insight into their characters? or want to change them up years later? we do it all the time as fanfic writers, so give the same respect. especially when blessed by the creator of the actual series. they consulted with george on this. wait and see before you judge is all. christ. ya’ll just like to complain for real when one thing doesn’t go your way.  p.s.: mushroom told half of the stories, which weren’t based in truth? only assumption. and the fictional author in the series said this happened (and as the show’s co-creator and executive producer, martin presumably has some agency in making this happen), but it wasn’t concrete in actual book lore. so please.
one more thing: ya’ll also forget these kids don’t know war. let aemond really feel the consequences of his fucking actions. they are still two stupid, young ass idiots. aemond survived. now we’ll see what he becomes. ya’ll just like full psychopaths in theory but let them come across you in real life. ANIMALS ALSO FEEL HARMFUL INTENT AND REACT ACCORDINGLY. now i’m done. seriously.

Aemond's sob story in the show is weak as hell, i was bullied viciously in my childhood yet i didn't grow up to become very cruel and want to "burn the world" i maen even if we look at others Asoiaf characters who were bullied/abused in their childhood like Daenerys/jon/ arya ... They didn't grow up to become absolute psychopaths like Aemond. The way this show uses this sob story just to excuse his later actions is sooo annoying to me. Like they even blamed Vhaegar lmao
This. All of this, plus how canon Aemond had no real or substantive bullying experience unless it was him being the bully (another POST and QUOTE).
As for blaming Vhagar, Seth Abramson writes HERE about Ryan Condal's theory of accidents, as I call it, and how it removes accountability for Aemond.
The memes about "Grandma Vhagar" are kinda funny, though. I think of them as memes mocking the very idea that dragons are so disconnected from their riders, that riders don't generally and usually have very good control over their dragons, etc. Or that's what I decide to do, to make up for how ridiculous this idea of the lack of control over a dragon and Aemond's no accountability is.

this is such an incredibly specific niche thing to say but vhagar is that one extremely confident tiktok grandma who talks about her exes in the grave and talking about how she slayed her fit in their funeral. only add in that vhagar slays literally too <3

I'm sorry but people hating on Aemond and calling him an asshole for "stealing" Vhagar instantly piss me off.
Like come on seriously.
Now I'll be honest and agree the timing wasn't the best.
(Claiming a dragon at it's rider's funeral is a bit out of touch.)
But people love to demonize him for it as if he had strangled a baby or something.
"Vhagar was meant to pass to one of Laena's daughters!"
I'm sorry when have dragons been passed down like a house? 'Cause last time I checked they are living creatures with their own wills. Your dad could tell your entire life that his dragon is going to you when he dies, but if the dragon doesn't want you, you can't exactly force it to accept you.
Unless you like being burned to death.
If Vhagar wanted to have Baela or Rhaena as her rider she wouldn't have accepted Aemond, heck she wouldn't even have tested him! She would have turned him into the dragon equivalent of a chicken nugget.
He proved his determination and resilience in riding her, a determination that had been born from being mocked and bullied by his brother and nephews for God knows how long!
The boy was frustrated by being seen as less by the other kids. Especially by Rhaenyra's, since they were bastards. As soon as he saw his chance to prove his worth as a Targaryen prince he took it and rode the greatest, most ancient dragon left in Westeros.
It was normal for the twins to be mad at him. After all they were two little girls who had just lost their mother, and I admit, Aemond reacted poorly at their insults, though after finally proving himself, I can understand why he got so cocky.
That said the fight was completely on them and the Strongs. They hit him first, and started ganging up on him. The kid was just defending himself, and remember, Jace was the one who took out a knife. Aemond may have taken a rock and threatened to harm them, but when you're up against 4 other kids all by yourself, you have get a weapon to try and balance out the fight if you want to get out all in one piece.
