      As Loch entered the dining room, Mist caught sight of River and Chad resting at a table with her parents. Though the camera swiftly passed over the scene, she was sure she also briefly glimpsed Havoc speaking with Asher in the corner.      “I’m sure you’ve seen enough of the grooms by now, anyway, and you can speak to Mum and Dad on someone else’s time. So, who else is there? Ah, yes, Hawk and Char, say hello to Mist!”       The pair smiled and waved happily, though Loch quickly moved on before they could say anything. “That’s totally-normal-champagne glass number three, for anyone keeping count at home, by the way,” Loch stage whispered into the phone, and Mist chuckled.       Suddenly, one small, silver-haired toddler appeared from under a tablecloth, whilst Heaven ran squealing away from her parents and right into Loch's path, almost tripping him over. He cussed quietly under his breath, though chuckled immediately after.       “So anyway, did you know they’ve been dating for, like, two years? Because Maurice and I fucking did not. Oop, better not say that name here. ANYWAY. Bit too late for fake champers here, eh, Sky? How are the ankles?”      “Still swollen as fuck, thank you very much.” The camera moved up from a pair of trainers to show Sky flashing him a snarky grin and a middle finger.      “Hey, now, no swearing; our baby sis is on the line.” The feed switched to the front camera, and Loch came into frame, leaning in to wrap an arm around Sky's shoulder, grinning into the camera.      “She already learnt all the best curses from me years ago. Hey Missy! You know you can hang up on him the second he gets too much, right?”      “He’s actually marginally less annoying like this.”      “Tell me about it. Takes a minimum of two drinks to turn Princess Uptight into someone bearable.”      “Okay, y’know what, you can chat shit on me in your own time. Say byyyye balloon feet.”       Another middle finger and Sky vanished off the screen.

This is part 3 of Kayden and child reader it is going to be more of short fics of events so far and some head cannons. If anyone wants to request certain scenarios I'll be happy to make fics or head cannons for it. This fic will start at the time line where eleceed starts.

Meeting Jiwoo

You were waiting for your papa to return, he had hid you in one of the abandoned buildings. He heard that three of the top ten were gathering together and decided to go challenge them. You started getting worried because he was taking longer than he usually would. You decide to leave the abandoned building and search for him. You summon a will-o'-the-wisp to lead you to him, making sure to erase your trace as Kayden had taught. You end up walking into a strange scene of a cat with your dads power touching a teenagers forehead.

You watch in confusion as various questions running through your head. From a distance you watch as the teenager gets up to square off against a big cat

'who is that? Why does that chubby kitty have Papa's power? Is that a tiger? Why does it have grey fur?'

The cat lunges at the teenager, and you hear your dads voice from the chubby kitty yelling at him to get away.

You watch as the teenager dodges every attack from the cat, and knock the cat out with the power your dad gave

'oh he's an awakener, like me and papa'

You watch as your dad and the teenager near the kitty to check for injuries. The teenager picks up the cat and you hear your dad call you

"Y/n you can come out now, this kid means no harm"

You quickly run up to your dad and the teen out of your hiding spot.

"papa what happened? Why are you a kitty right now? And um who is he?"

"Those three ganged up on me, remember the new power I was practicing? this is it. This is Jiwoo he found me injured after the fight and tended to my wounds."

"oh, I don't like those top 10 they didn't fight fair. Um thank you

mr.Jiwoo for helping papa"

You say to Jiwoo as he looks at you in shock

" no- no problem? Mr.Kayden you're actually human? I didn't know you had a daughter"

" of course I'm human, and I have to keep her secret or she can get hurt. Come on now we'll draw suspicion if we stay here too long."

The three of you head to Jiwoo's place where Jiwoo patches up the grey cat, you discuss what happened in the alley way.

"Um Mr.Kayden, Y/n.."

"Is there something you want to say?"

" I couldn't say this before because we were busy.. um .. how do I explain this."

"It's okay, just say it"

" you know the thing I did in the alley way?"

"you mean your speed?"

"Yes! Please don't say anything about my powers, no one can know.. please"

You blink at him in surprise.

" Hey! Who do you think I am? why would I blab about you being an awakened one?"

" awakened? What's that?"

"You don't know what you are?"

"what am I?"

Kayden then explains what an awakener is to Jiwoo, and then he started crying, since he was happy that he was normal.

'he went through what I went through in the orphanage'

You think to yourself as you walk towards Jiwoo and start patting his back, he smiles and gently pats your head.

"thank you for caring for me Y/n"

'why did I do that? I shouldn't trust people easily,papa said that. I need to act more like papa.' You think to yourself as you try to come up with a lie.

" I- no-I um d-did it cause uh papas a CAT and um catsdon'tlikebeingwet"

You say as you quickly back away, flustered that you did that without thinking.

Jiwoo giggles as your dad gives you a deadpan expression at how obvious it was that you were lying.

'I need to teach her how to lie better, who did she learn to lie like that from?'

Kayden thinks to himself as he looks at you as you try to control your flustered expression.

"May I ask you something else Mr.Kayden? can you teach me about the awakened ones?"

Kayden then gives Jiwoo a lecture on what awakeners are.

Jiwoo becomes Kaydens apprentice

You sat on the patio of Jiwoo's home as you thought of what you just saw. Your dad had just taught his force control to Jiwoo and he had learned it quickly, not to say you didn't learn quickly. You had also learned your dads force control quickly but it took you an entire hour unlike Jiwoo. Kayden had said you were talented, but didn't that mean that Jiwoo was more talented? and you were sad that Jiwoo might replace you. You had seen it many times before, a couple would adopt a kid but then return them cause they got a 'better biological child'.

"Y/n why do you look so sad?"

Your dad said as he sat beside you

"papa you won't leave me right?"

You ask as you look at him teary eyed

"Y/n! Hey, hey what's wrong? what brought this about?"

Kayden asked as he nudged your arm with his paw.

" he's your apprentice, won't that mean you won't have time for me anymore? Does that mean he's going to replace me? He has talent and he's also older, won't that mean he can be seen with you? Since him being older makes him less fragile. Papa please don't replace me"

You whimper as tears start rolling down your face

"Y/n I would never replace you, you're my one and only daughter Y/n Break. The day you became my daughter, was the day I swore to take care of you and protect you from harm. Me having an apprentice won't change the fact that you are my precious daughter, and that I love and care for you."

You hug Kayden still crying

"sorry papa I just didn't want to be left alone again. I'll try to like Mr.Jiwoo I know he's not bad- but I still don't want to share you yet"

"Y/n I won't care for you less because I have an apprentice, we now have one more person to care for. I can't reveal Jiwoo soon either for his safety and yours"

"okay papa"

After that you fall asleep hugging him the crying had worn you out that night.

The Day Jiwoo became your big brother

It had been right after you arrived from the first trip to the Korean academy. You had learned how to transform from Kayden, and came with them disguised as a kitten. You were still warming up to Jiwoo bit by bit. The night that you got back you got a nightmare. You were back at the orphanage hearing every insult they threw at you. You decided to not sleep, and instead decided to go and look at the stars.

"hey Y/n, you couldn't sleep?

Jiwoo asked as he sat beside you

".. I had a nightmare.."

"do you want to tell me what happened? It's okay if you don't want to, but maybe I can help"

"..I had a nightmare of when I was back at the orphanage, I remembered the insults they threw at me, the names that called me. I was Y/n; the freak and mistake, the other kids would break my toys and the older kids would just ignore me all the time."

Jiwoo gently pats your back to soothe you.

" when I first got my powers the people around called me a monster and freak too. I could never make really close friendships since I didn't want anyone discovering my power. Every year me and my mom would move locations to not get any attention. I lived like that all my life. I only got actual close friends after I met you and Mr.Kayden."

Jiwoo smiles at you and pats your head

" I know how those nightmares feel, I wouldn't want to go back to the life I had before either"

You quickly pull Jiwoo into a hug

"I'm sorry, I kept being stubborn with you even though you were so nice. I'm sorry that I've been so selfish, I didn't stop to think that you needed papa just like I do, sorry that I kept being selfish when it came to papa"

"it's alright Y/n, you're a six year old. When I was six I would have been selfish with my mom's affection too. Mr. Kayden is always going to care for you,and you now have me too. I care for you, so don't be scared of being alone, alright?"

" thank you.. can I call you big brother? Please?"

You ask as you look at him

"alright, as long as I can call you my little sister"

"uh huh, it's a promise you're my big brother now."

You two hug and spend the rest of the night spotting constellations till you fall asleep, and Jiwoo carries you and tucks you into bed.

Unbeknownst to both of you Kayden watched the entire scene, he's happy that the both of you get along now.

The kidnapping

News of Jiwoo had reached the assassins. Baekdu had sent spies and they found out you existed. Jiwoo was captured and they sent another person to capture you.

You had gone outside in search for Jiwoo using your will-o'-the-wisp when you bumped into a creepy looking guy.

" you're the little kid I was sent to capture, tch sending me after you. I want to get a hold of Kayden Breaks force control. They even get to have fun torturing his apprentice. Guess I'll have to have my fun torturing you instead."

Everything he said after didn't register in your ears after he had mentioned Jiwoo being tortured all you saw was red.

During the time you had spent with Jiwoo you had been learning something new. You and your dad had discovered a way for you to partially transform and use the power of the creatures you summoned.

You summoned your orc on top of him to stun him, you used the moment of weakness against him. You grew jagged teeth, talons, 5 fingers merged into 3,with sharp nails, scales grew on your arm, jellyfish tentacles and a scorpion tail sprouted from your back. You bit into the flesh of his collar. Even with his guard down tearing into the flesh of an adult awakener was difficult. You gripped your talons into his stomach and claws into his shoulders. You commanded your orc to strike his back as you gnawed at the flesh of his neck. Each attempt of the man to attack you or the orc, earned him a sting from your tail and tentacles. The sudden fall of the orc and punctured veins, along with your stings disoriented him and prevented him from making attacks that would actually kill you. The entire time your mind said one thing only;

'kill him'

You finally ripped through his muscle and skin to see his bone. You powered energy in your jaws and bit into his wound once more, this time you fired off a beam of electricity straight through his heart. Even with the scales acting as a defensive barrier your arms were broken and you were covered in gashes. The scales on your arm had also been ripped off in certain places. You no longer had the energy to keep your transformation and both it and the orc faded away. You were stained in blood and blood pooled on the ground around you. The smell of burnt flesh hung heavily in the air.

At that moment Ameyong and Dran appeared, along with Suman Kang.

" well aren't you a little monster"

Dran said excitement in his face

" that was definitely Mr. Kaydens electricity, could it be that he had two apprentices instead of just one"

" whatever it is we can torture information out of her too"

Dran activated his power as walked towards you. Suman Kang instantly stepped in front of you

" you will not hurt her"

He set up spatial isolation and put a shield around you and held them off. Just in time for Kayden to arrive.

"I'll take care of these two, both of you go find Jiwoo"

You and Suman find Jiwoo and go back to the battlefield to see Kayden killing off Dran and Ameyong running away. You, Kayden and Jiwoo go home. The entire time you stare at Jiwoo, sobbing as you arrive home.

The aftermath of the kidnapping

This has a bit of agnst in it.

Kayden started working on trying to help Jiwoo. You sat curled up in a ball beside him.

" Y/n, do you know how dangerous what you did is?"

Kayden asked you in a serious voice you had rarely heard him speak like that for. He only did so on occasions where your actions could have caused you to die.

"I didn't know it was going to be that dangerous, I just wanted to help-"

"YOU COULD HAVE DIED!, save for Ameyong the other two would not have second guessed hurting a child. The one you killed was out of sheer luck, he was nowhere near the strength of the other two but if he had come up to you with an attack prepared you would have lost, if he had even one chance to recover things could have gone south in a split second. I've told you countless times that the awakener world is a dangerous place."

His voice was stern, you had run into a situation without even considering how dangerous it could have been.

"but papa, I was worried that big brother got hurt-"

"Then you should have come to me"

You bury your head in your knees, looking at the ground below.

"..*sigh* Y/n I could have lost both you and Jiwoo this day"

His voice sounded pained, he was worried about Jiwoo, about you. He was thinking of how he might have had to hold both of your dead bodies if he had arrived any later.

"I'm sorry papa, I went against your rules that you made to keep me safe. I know the fight was dangerous, but the moment I heard that big brother was hurt..I just got mad, the only thought in my head was to kill the guy in front of me"

"I know Y/n, I understand that rage. I feel right now, I want to end the one who called the assassins on Jiwoo"

".. papa they know about me too, the guy I killed said that he was sent out to capture me."

"HE WAS WHAT?"

"the guy I killed said that the other two tasked him to capture me"

"I'm going to kill the scumbag that dared to do this"

"papa is Jiwoo going to be fine?"

" I don't know, we have to ask for help at Shinawa for both of you"

" I'll be fine papa, I want big brother to get better"

"Y/n you're injured too they need to check you too"

The three of you go to Shinawa together, Thankfully your injuries are less critical than Jiwoo's, which is attributed to the Chimera transformation's increased durability and mild regeneration factor.

Meeting Ameyong

You refused to leave Jiwoo's side and stayed in the hospital room with him. You had tried your best at healing him too ,by summoning your healing creatures. The best you could do for Jiwoo was to heal his skin, scars, and tiny scratches. Any attempt to move you outside of Jiwoo's hospital room only resulted with you sneaking back in. It was in such a moment that you watched Ameyong and Jiwoo speak. The moment Ameyong touched Jiwoo you lunge at him. He's faster and catches you mid-air.

"DON'T YOU DARE TRY TO HURT HIM"

You growl at him as you swing your claws at him.

"I won't, I just confirmed something"

With that he set you down

" You shouldn't charge like that into battle. You're insanely strong for a child, but against an adult you would lose. Your victory that day came from sheer luck, and you fighting dirty."

"So what? I'm in the wrong for fighting dirty? That guy tried to capture and kill me even though I'm a kid. It's his own fault for having his ego up his butt"

You say as you snarl at him

"daughter"

"at this point in time it doesn't matter, since you were a child against an adult. As you get older you'll have to change that, you'll have a reputation to uphold as Kayden's second apprentice.

"whAT?

His eyes widen as he staggers backwards

"his daughter, I'm his daughter"

"I tried to kidnap Kayden's daughter? You're kidding right? Kayden doesn't have a daughter."

"yes you tried to kidnap me, and yes he's my papa, don't faint like those cartoon characters do. I'll throw you out the window."

"I would know if he had a daughter"

"if you don't believe me, ask papa yourself. He's outside right now."

"he is? Alright I'll be going then.. Something like this will happen again as long as you're Kayden's apprentice, and if what you say is true you're in greater danger as his daughter. They'll never care for how you are."

Ameyong walks towards the door and pauses

"I wasn't accepted like you both, but I also think of myself as Kayden's apprentice."

Once he leaves you turn your attention to Jiwoo.

"don't think I'm letting you go, I heard what you said. You were going to let him kill you"

You puff your face as you flop down next to him

" I didn't want to cause danger for Mr.Kayden and my core is broken, I'll just be a burden"

" No you're not, remember why force control is so precious? and what you were told about mentors?"

"yeah I do"

" papa and I care for you, don't forget that and mentors affiliated or not always have the responsibility of taking care of their apprentices. Don't worry I know papa will find a way to help with your core"

"thank you little sis"

Jiwoo says as he pulls you into a hug.

"are you going to get in trouble for revealing your identity?"

"don't worry papa said he was going to tell him, apparently he could help cover us"

"ooh I see."

So this was rather long and I know everyone has liked the fluff posts more, but I wanted to try and flesh the relationships out more. Part four will be uploaded and it will be more similar to my previous posts. If you have requests for certain scenarios, I'll try my best to write them.

thank you for the compliment and for asking!! I’m so sorry I didn’t respond earlier, I was off the site for a while cuz I had some opportunities I wanted to focus on irl. honestly my answer depends on whether I’m doing my OWN version of the stories or just modifying the old ones. If I was doing my own take I would change everything cuz that’s more fun. If I was just modifying them, I would change the things I feel are harmful… like the way the series in general approaches Sabrina’s trauma. I think it would be more helpful to kids reading who have similar trauma and behavior patterns as Sabrina if the other characters treated her with more understanding and actually acknowledged WHY she acted that way and tried to help her feel safe again. I feel like acknowledging her response to serious trauma as normal AND clarifying that adults should HELP you when you feel that way would add a lot to the series. I think we’re both Canis stans and if ANYONE should have been there for her like that, it should have been him. Like he GETS it, he’s basically going through a more metaphorical version of her trauma symptoms, HE just gets less grief for it. He should have interacted with the kids more in general and it would have been so sweet if he’d reached out to her to try to help her deal with her problems too. like help her meditate or something idk don’t just stand there in the corner being scary… in my mind there’s a version where they actually talk to each other and remind each other that they’re not monsters even if they feel that way sometimes
