(I’ve been a busy bee these past 4 days. Though this was not the sum of the work, this has been something I have never done before. I’ve made large and long things before, but not quite like this.  Falx’s Scythe ((or the Grimmscythe...because Grimm likes to attach his name to everything)) is currently sitting at around 11 feet long. To get the first image, I stood on a step ladder and had my arms completely stretched out. This item and more I will update once they are closer to completion)

"Hriob Zagel" is in fact a name in an archaic form of German with Czech leanings known as althochdeutsch, and translates to ‘Heavy Storm’. This is in fact based on the ability of the mythological figure known as Rübezahl that he is reincarnated from based off of to control the weather around the mountains he called home.

Hriob is ambidextrous, but not typically so. He prefers to use his right hand for literary tasks such as reading and writing, and his left for using tools such as hammers, chisels, saws, and the like. He has no favored side at all in combat or for magic.

Hriob’s near-oni constitution for alcohol is not innate, but is reliant on his continued exposure and communion with the trees and flora of the Forest of Magic, which gives his body strength and nutrition beyond that of what he eats. This health and resistance would also apply to diseases and toxins he might exposed to, but again only so long as the Forests are intact. He protects the trees for his own benefit as much as for purely selfless reasons of naturalism.

Hriob’s Father was Czech and a direct descendant of The Rübezahl he is named for, who was born of a tryst with a princess in one of his stories that gave him that iconic name. Hriob’s mother was a herbalist that lived and cared for the forest according to old Germanic traditions of shamanism, but died in childbirth due to unforeseen complications. His father never knew he had a child.

The Fact that Hriob speaks Finnish is only thanks to the fact that the spirit who used to guard over him is Finnish in origin, as is the spirit who tried to kill him in order to enact vengeance on the first spirit. It was the culmination of one of their more intense conflicts over his safety that lead to his transportation into Gensokyo, no Yukari needed.
