The whole transandrophobia discussion thing is weird bc it feels like it's a bunch of poc and jewish trans people being like "here are my experiences of how specifically being MASCULINE had affected me, and the discrimination and violence I experienced based on that. And here is how that relates to me being a racial/ethnic minority"
And then a few loud white trans people going "ohhh you wanna be oppressed so bad you *slur*. This is why there aren't any poc in your movement it's because REAL poc understand intersectionality"
Have you ever tried an Asparagus Pea (Tetragonolobus purpurea)?
This is a relative of peas rather than asparagus. The species is grown all over tropical Southeast Asia and is thought to have come from New Guinea originally. This plant is a novelty crop in western gardens but it has great potential to become a more economically important plant. For example, all parts of the plant are edible (with proper cooking), the seeds can be used in a similar way to soybeans, and it can be processed into feed for domestic animals. It’s very easy to grow in the UK.
We weren’t too impressed with the stringy pods and astringent taste of the pods but we may have not used the optimal cooking style.
The third benefit of language learning is being able to read the extended family group chat, where it turns out they spend days discussing the fruits they want to eat
*Pokes head out of musty lizard den* Send Them Off! by bastille is a fragileshipping song. Set me free from my jealousy! Won't you exorcise my mind indeed (wisely puts this to an AMV of anime boys in my head). Look it has it all exorcism metaphors Shakespeare references a really nice horn sample. They deserve it.
It's starting to be more available now bc it's getting swept up in the health food craze but it's so annoying how ingredients/food that's traditional to the region is much harder to get than all the "exotic" food stuffs that are considered normal now
my brother's on an ancestry stint & keeps telling me that we didn't grow up with any culture & tbh i think he & i have diff ideas of what "culture" means lmao
The forest heaps have a youtube channel and have their videos taken down 6 times for "encouraging dangerous activities" so they have to add a disclaimer now <3 jenna is internet famous to the "getting free stuff" and "meeting important/famous people" level. Septimus is also famous but his tiktoks r rlly inconsistent in style/content so everyone under the age of 25 HAS seen smth of his but most ppl don't know its all by the same guy. Marcia has a youtube channel + a website that r both rlly popular in a specific corner of the internet (despite her videos all looking like they r from 2006) bc she is REALLY knowledgeable in what she's talking abt+is very good at explaining it + lists every single source she mentions in an easy to read alphabetical bullet point list. University students especially love her. No one knows who the fuck it is running this channel+website bc her microphone is so shitty (she has captions tho so it's fine). Simon is heavily inspired by her and that's why he tries to start his own channel but obviously it does not work </3
YEAH SPIT FYRE I was imagining like. A modern au spit fyre (weird dog? Lizard?? Bird? Fucked up horse????) but smartphones in the canon universe.....terrifying tbh
It's the "this messy family is running the entire castle" but instead it's "can you believe all of these influencers are related"
Also I was thinking of Spit Fyre as some kind of extra fancy dog breed which is the only reason why Marcia let Septimus have him. Except Sep literally found him in some alley and noone ever properly trained him and also it's still a dog, so really Marcia was doomed from the start
Exotic strains of cannabis are all the rage. These in-demand hybrids are called exotics because of their higher than normal potency. Exotic-grade cannabis goes for top dollar, so growing exotics can be very rewarding to cultivators.
Meet the adorable Thai Pink Egg Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). This dreamily coloured tomato resembles the gemstone rhodochrosite and has a mild refreshing flavour. This variety is rarely seen in the Western world and it is one of the few truly Asian tomato varieties. According to what I’ve read ( such as this marvellous history article) tomatoes are relatively newcomers in East Asian cuisine and therefore there aren’t as many heritage tomatoes from Asian as there are in the Americas and the Western world. The Thai Pink Egg plants are quite pale and skinny compared to our other tomatoes, but this may be because the Thai Pinks are better adapted to hot humid climates like their native Thailand. Nonetheless, they bear a generous harvest of fruits!
