after shoulder surgery w/ yoongi & his only hyung

Seokjin passes by Yoongi’s closed bedroom door while walking down the hallway to the kitchen to get dinner prepared.

“Fuck.”

He backtracks a little, listening through the door.

It has now been a few weeks since the surgery on Yoongi’s left shoulder. Even so, he really hasn’t been doing so well lately, neither mentally nor physically.

As one can only imagine, unless they’ve had an injured limb before, life with only three limbs is extremely difficult.

Tasks ranging from using the bathroom to even lying in bed send surging aches through the entire body, not just the limb. That would make anybody irritable.

Especially Yoongi.

A loud thud calls Seokjin back to reality.

He yelps. “Shit! Damn it!”

“Yoongi-yah,” he calls through the door. “You okay?”

“I’m fine.” His voice is strained, as if he’s actively exerting himself as he speaks. “Go away.”

“What are you doing?”

“Changing,” he replies, a hint of agitation in his voice. “Do not come in.”

“I know you need help.”

He groans. “Just go away, hyung.”

“I’m coming in.” Seokjin puts his hand on the doorknob and laughs in pure amusement when Yoongi yells “No!”

He twists the knob and opens the door.

There’s Yoongi standing in the middle of the room with one arm in his hoodie and the other (the one with the recovering shoulder) out.

Realizing that he’s looking rather disheveled at the moment, Yoongi’s pale face flushes red as he practically spins away from the door. The lower half of his bare back is the only thing that faces Seokjin as Yoongi avoids his eyes.

“Go away!”

Seokjin sighs. “Just let me help you.”

“No,” the dark-haired man protests stubbornly. He stretches his arm out and into the sleeve. “Let me do it. I’m recovered, it’s fi-“

He yelps again, his face now contorted with pain.

Seokjin walks in and shuts the door, gesturing to Yoongi. “C’mere,” he says softly.

Yoongi reluctantly takes a few steps over to Seokjin. He steps behind Yoongi and gently helps his arm into the sleeve without stretching it or pulling too hard at his limb.

He slowly gets Yoongi’s head through the hoodie, and the younger one looks back at Seokjin. There’s a hint of gratefulness in his not-so-thrilled expression.

“Thanks,” Yoongi mumbles.

Seokjin only nods.
