In A Servant of Two Masters, it really annoyed me that Gwen was so calm about Merlin being lost and possibly dead, when, if Gwen was in Merlin's place, Merlin would risk his life in a heartbeat. I wish Gwen had stayed her sweet, selfless self. I saw her fade and turn into a completely different person. I miss the old Gwen. She was mature but a little bit silly at the same time.

I wanted to dislike Princess Mithian, but once the episode aired, I couldn't help but like her. I actually think she'd've made a better queen than Gwen.

As much as I love Gwen, somewhere after Series 3-4, her characterization changes the fun, easygoing, passionate girl who says embarrassing things; is replaced by this level-headed woman who doesn't joke as much as she did. It's almost like once Morgana leaves and she's courting Arthur, she doesn't joke with the guys as much.

I dislike Gwen because of how she treated Lancelot. It made me so angry that she could confess her love to him for JUST long enough to escape and then never speak of him again until he shows up at the end of S3. She basically lied to and used Lancelot and then flaunted her love for Arthur when he returned to save them without speaking a word to him.

I really loved Gwen as a servant, but when she became Queen, I felt slightly disconnected to her character and she took on the role of Queen too easily, especially for someone who came from a poor background.

When people argue that those who like Gwen when she was a servant rather than when she was a queen are ridiculous, and are entrenched in misogyny and patriarchal subservience, I get a little irritated. I am totally up for a female character fiercely ruling, and conquering, but Gwen is more relatable to some than Queen Guinevere. I'm an introvert, and can understand the meekness that Gwen showed more than the confidence that Guinevere exudes. I don't appreciate being shamed for being me.
