Bet that the one time Vox actually tried to hypnotize Alastor in their past was the closest he ever got to it working on him too. Alastor thought they were friends, Vox had earned that right to be as close to him as he was, he Trusted Vox.

He got to see exactly one second of Alastor's eyes glazing over and the ring effect starting before his vision fractured and he was on the floor. Alastor is standing over him in so much rage that he can't even speak, before he sinks into the floor and runs away. And Vox cannot grasp, cannot accept how things went so wrong. He thinks it's Alastor's fault for Not Trusting Him and running away like a Coward. Logging those immediate impressions as gospel thereafter.

"If only he'd Listened to him." Vox thinks about himself, but attributes to Alastor.

I really need to properly write out Alastor and Vox's backstory, because

Sierra, Font of Indulgence

I think start out as a late game NPC quest giver, with a decently long questline that is competing against another NPC, if tarnished sides with other NPC, Sierra becomes 3 phase bossfight following a cutscene that involves the death of Other NPC.

First phase: Sword wielding, fire infused attacks. resistant to physical and magic damage, immune to most status effects, excepting frostbite and scarlet rot. Susceptible to Holy and Lightning. Uses one grappling attack that will either throw or slam the tarnished into the ground. Aerial AOE attack that makes an explosion after the initial impact.

Second Phase: All resistances buffed, more susceptible to Holy. Loses sword, sprouts another pair of arms, wings, and tail grows longer and gains a bladed tip. Ranged fire breath, either in long range bolts or a closer range stream. Fire infused claw swipes. Teleporting, teleport grapples, telekinesis grapples. AOE slams and jump attacks.

Third Phase: Massive increase in size, more draconic appearance, Arena is busted up and opened to accommodate. All attacks that hit the ground do AOE damage, some add explosions after initial impact, dealing fire damage. Fire breath stronger. All resistances buffed again. Weakness to Holy doubles, weakness to Lightning goes up by 1x. will grab parts of environment to use as weapons. If environ weap is thrown, can be a one shot, depending on tarnished level. tail can grapple and will slam tarnished into the floor. will spawn runic fire pools under tarnished’s feet periodically. telekinesis grapples again.

Upon death, will award tarnished Font of Indulgence armor set, The Maw colossal greatsword, and 50,000 runes.

The Maw requires 50 strength, 20 Dex, and 55 Endurance to wield. Skill would be Dragon’s Dance, swinging in a circle two times, each successful strike dealing fire damage, then after the third strike whirls and slams the blade downward to knock the foe down.

Font of Indulgence set would be regal looking robes with an armored bodice, one missing sleeve (the right, replaced with armor) a crown, and a set of plate greaves. golds, purples, and blacks are the main colors.

How do you manage thinking about another character who isn't your main f/o? I feel so guilty

I think the reason I haven’t been posting any art lately is because this next comic feels like such a huge roadblock. It’s like the inspiration has gone (not for the whole project, just this specific comic) and now I have to physically force myself to complete it.

And I can’t do anything else until it’s done, because then it would be “cheating” in a way? You know the feeling when you have to get out of the house to do something, but you still have some free time, but you can’t do anything because you have stuff to do later so you just sit around doing nothing? It’s kinda like that but for art.

I can’t do anything until I’ve finished this thing, but this thing has shifted from something that made me excited, to a gruelling task that I have to force myself to do and it’s poisoning everything else.

Was Naoe concerned? Not in the slightest. If it had been before Naotora's passionate refusal to leave him in order to have an heir or have concubines for that same purpose, then he might have held some doubt but he wasn't insecure about their relationship. He trusted Naotora with both his life and his heart. No hesitation or doubt lingered and he knew how much his blue soul loved him.

"What if I want to propose first hm? Maybe I'm the one taking his sweet time? How careless of you to assume--" He clicked his tongue off the roof of his mouth at the idea. He'd asked all of his wives to marry him when they showed they had the same interest, so it wasn't like he didn't have the experience. He did wonder what it was like to be the one asked though, officially.

Not that they really needed it. They already referred to each other as if they were already married. He considered Naotora his spouse. Naotora was his forever. His red string and North Star. In the end, it didn't matter to him if the rest of their world wanted them to tie the knot officially, if the two of them already considered it to be, unofficially.

"The only thing that matters to me is that Naotora is happy. He openly says he'll marry me and wants to, and to me, that's proof enough that he hasn't changed his mind. There's no time limit on what we have. He could never ask me and I'll still be just as in love with him as much as I am now. So to answer your question, no, I'm not concerned."
