Took a long walk on the GWB. He’s still recovering so he walked only part of the way and rode the rest.
Never get tired of this view

What George W. Bush did to Iraq 20yrs ago is as much of a war crime as what Vladimir Putin is doing to Ukraine today. While not precisely the same, the similarities are glaring. Bush lied when he said he was seeking weapons of mass destruction and wanted to bring democracy to Iraq, and Putin is lying when he says he is liberating Russian speakers and wants to denazify Ukraine.
Both presidents are corrupt power hungry imperialistic occupiers who only wanted to secure land, resources and power.
Only the most zealous sycophants or the most aggressively willfully ignorant still believe Bush or Putin.

This is the view of Manhattan from the Bronx side of the High Bridge, which (I think) is the oldest bridge in the city and (I know) is for pedestrians/bikers only. You can see the top of the GWB in the distance. This concludes my tour of Washington Heights.

December 13th 2000 in The White House's Old Executive Office Building
Al Gore:
(speaking very slowly and clearly, as if trying to calm a heard of raving mad red-eye's kelpies*)
"… while I strongly disagree with the court's decision, I accept it."
The first really big election I voted in! I was devastated at how easily Al Gore gave up. My more moderate/liberal friends are saying
"Surely you can see why this was the right thing to do, *now* right?"
uh… not really?
Listen, I want to! I really really do! But I don't.
Do you see this moment in a new light now?
*it's me. I'm the mad kelpies
