I know I said a while ago that I wanted to write some of my thoughts on the New Percy Jackson show out, but as time went on, I found myself having less time to actually sit down and watch it. However, now, I have finally finished the show (perhaps more than once, lmao), and I have a lot to share about it! Far more than I originally thought I would, to be honest. Honestly, I spent a couple of days watching everything over again and ended up starting and ending my first embroidery project since the pandemic started, which felt pretty good as it helped me absorb a lot more information as I worked. And, while I would love nothing more than to just word vomit everything out of my brain, I find myself physically incapable of leaving everything out of order now that I’ve had the time to properly think things over (certainly not due to the fact that I’ve been plotting story ideas for the last few weeks and can’t think of leaving anything disorganized right now). Instead of nonsensical paragraphs, I figured I would take things in four separate sections - my opinions on the characters, the castings I hope we get in the future, my favorite quotes, and a small snippet of how I would see things going down if I were to write this AU.

So, without further ado, I’m going to start off strong with…

My Character Takes:

Right off the bat, I adored Percy (Walker Scobell). I may be biased as I chose Walker as my sort of faceclaim for Bentley, but this child has Percy’s personality to a tee. I knew from watching him act alongside Ryan Reynolds in The Adam Project that he would be perfect not only for Bentley, but also for Percy and, when I finally got to see him as Percy, I knew I was right. From the iconic first line to the final moment of the series, he had me hooked. Though I missed the absolutely iconic “This is a pen!” quote from the movie, I feel like they got pretty much everything right for Percy. So many of his one-liners made me pause to laugh because I wouldn't have heard anything that was said afterward if I hadn’t, but he also has the right amount of seriousness and professionalism in certain scenes to make Percy come to life. I doubt Rick Riordan could have found a better Percy if they tried, and I can’t wait to see him in season 2.

Now, for Percy’s parents, Sally and Poseidon. Sally (Virginia Kull) was brilliant, and her interactions with Percy felt perfectly motherly and sweet while also having a vivid personality all her own. Watching back over the show after seeing it through the first time, I picked up on a lot more subtle hints at her mental struggle as a “single” mother of a demigod (she did remarry, and I’ll touch on that in a moment). I feel like watching it back over sort of gave me the full picture and I love that little touch. Now, Poseidon (Toby Stephens, Dame Maggie Smith’s son) was also incredible. I feel like, although we didn’t see much of Poseidon initially, the way he acted was very telling of his situation (being unable to see or interact with Percy without Zeus’ permission for fear of starting another huge war), and it felt like there was a definite desire and regret that he couldn’t have stuck around for his son (if not for Sally as well).

As for Percy’s stepfather, Gabe Ugliano (Timm Sharp), I feel like they may have tamed him a bit from the book as a way to avoid triggering anybody who grew up in an abusive household, but they still kept him on the despicable side. I always hated him, but I do feel like they could have made him worse. Instead of the bigoted, poker-playing asshole we meet in the books, we get a bit more of an idiot who wastes his money on online poker and sits around all day. I like that they kept his ending the way it was, but I sort of wish it played a bigger role in Sally's story going forward. Who knows; maybe it will in the future, but I wish they delved more into his character being genuinely a disgusting human being rather than just a loser.

Now, even though I don’t want to go too into detail on them because I don’t want to spoil anything in case you care to watch this show later on (highly recommended as there’s no need to read the books to see what’s going on), I want to touch on some of the campers and Percy’s friends. Ironically, I’ll be starting with Clarisse LaRue (Dior Goodjohn). Clarisse is the take-no-shit-and-start-shit daughter of Ares, the god of war, and is also the counselor of his cabin (Cabin 5). She’s very combative, competitive, and aggressive, which we find out is because she wants her dad to favor her despite her being a girl and all his “favorites” being boys. As stated in the show, he doesn’t even really like his kids, but that doesn’t stop her from trying to gain favor. Dior was a great choice for Clarisse, and I have to say, I think she did her great justice. The actor they had in the movies (well, movie as she was only in one despite her character being in more of the books) was good, but she wasn’t nearly as aggressive, feisty, and tough as Dior’s. Honestly, 10/10.

Luke Castellan is one character I couldn’t wait to see come to life, and Charlie Bushnell did an amazing job with him. He is the son of Hermes, the god of messengers, travelers, and thieves, and Luke is, like Clarisse, the head of his cabin (Cabin 11). Luke is one of the best, multi-faceted characters in not only the books, but in this show as well. Though he doesn’t appear in many episodes, I feel as though his character is one we’ll definitely be watching closely as time goes by. Regardless, Charlie did amazing in his portrayal of Luke, and I think he handled everything really well!

I know a lot of people weren’t thrilled when Leah Sava Jeffries was cast as Annabeth Chase (daughter of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy - Cabin 6), but I trusted Rick’s choice in casting her as he said he knew she was the best choice for Annabeth. I have to say, he was right; she was incredible! Her interactions with everyone, the subtle ways she showed that she knew more than she was letting on, and her acting overall was great for Annabeth. I love that they included her Yankees cap as well, something I wish they had in the movies. Leah was amazing, Annabeth truly came to life, and I’m very excited to see how everything pans out!

Speaking of pans, we have Grover Underwood, a hopeful searcher for Pan, the god of the wild, satyrs, and folk music. While Grover is not related to Pan, his goal is to become a searcher so that he can follow his family’s legacy of searching for the missing god of the wild. Now, I actually loved the way the movies made Grover, but I think they did pretty well with him in the show as well. There is a certain scene I wish they had kept from the movie, but with how they made Gabe Ugliano in the show, I’m not entirely surprised they took it out. It would have been hilarious, though! I do have to say that Aryan Simhadri did an amazing job and that I was very pleased with his performance overall!

For the Greek gods that we met this season, I want to start off with the now-passed Lance Reddick, who played Zeus, the god of the sky, thunder, lightning, kingship, honor, and justice (Cabin 1). It’s sad that he never was able to watch his character come to life on screen, but he did a pretty great job in the one episode he was in. The looming threat of his presence throughout the episodes was a very effective build-up to actually meeting him in the end. He was a good choice for Zeus and, while I’m upset he won’t be in any future seasons, his acting was great. I’m sure they’ll find someone to do him good justice in the future, but those will be big shoes to fill as far as the rest of the cast will be concerned, I’m sure.

As I’ve already touched on Poseidon, I’m going to skip over to Hephaestus, the god of fire, forges, sculpture, metalworking, stone masonry, carpenters, technology, artisans, and volcanoes (Cabin 9). Hephaestus is pretty much an outsider from the Olympian family as he doesn’t really bother with the drama of Olympus, and Timothy Omudson does a great job of showing this in his simplistic, yet interesting approach. I found myself wanting to sit and talk with him - get his take on everything, in a way. Unlike some of the other gods we hear about/meet, he seems to think fairly reasonably and is pretty sympathetic, something I really liked about this portrayal of Hephaestus.

Ares is next on my list and, while I was never a huge fan of the character as the Greek myth was originally labelled as a protector of mistreated women and this version Ares was just an asshole, I feel like Adam Copeland made me like him. The first time I watched the episode we meet him in, I just sat there laughing at his personality, but the second time around, I had to wonder how on earth I found myself genuinely sort of enjoying watching him. Though I’m still not big on him overall, as his treatment of his own children is pretty shit, I can’t say that I didn’t enjoy seeing him. Also, when he talked about different wars in the diner, it felt like I was listening to my dad in history class all over again, and I kind of enjoyed that. Anyway, he was chaotic and crazy, but he has great taste in motorcycles, and I actually enjoyed him overall. Adam Copeland did a great job not making me fully hate him.

Finally, I want to talk about Hermes, who was played by none other than Lin-Manuel Miranda. When I saw that he was on the cast list, my immediate thought was Apollo, but I ended up loving him as Hermes. I wish we had seen more of him, but honestly, that’s just my Hamilton brain screeching to be let out, as I know he wasn’t supposed to be in many, if any, of the episodes this season because they were following the books. Honestly, though, Lin was incredible, Hermes was incredible, and I hope we see more of him going forward!

Future Castings:

Firstly, I want to say that my biggest hope is to see Sam Claflin as Apollo! His personality in The Hunger Games was all I needed to see, honestly. He would be perfect for Apollo, and I hope that’s who we get, but if not, I’ll just have to trust the process.

My top pick for Thalia Grace (and a semi-popular one I’ve seen floating around) is Momona Tamada.

I could see Zoë Saldaña, Tessa Thompson, or Danai Gurira as Athena. I don’t have a solid choice, but I could see them working really well as they have to play Annabeth’s mom, and they all could pull that off pretty well.

For Aphrodite, I have a variety of ideas. Gemma Chan could be pretty good, but so could Florence Pugh, Elizabeth Olsen, or Indya Moore. I feel like there are so many ways they could pull it off, but regardless of who they choose, I’m sure it’ll be great. (There is no official artwork for her, so I’m using the picture from Rick Riordan’s website, but she is known to change her appearance as she pleases)

One character I’m sure we won't see for a while, but I’d still enjoy, would be either Sadie Sink or Erin Kellyman for Rachel Elizabeth Dare. I doubt either actress will end up being chosen, as it’ll probably be a while before we get to season 3, but they were my top choices for her.

Now, I don’t have many ideas for anyone else, but I’m sure the cast will be amazing no matter what.

Quotes:

I had a lot of quotes from the show that I absolutely loved, but I forgot to write down which episodes they came from as I wrote more in the second time around and they got a bit jumbled on paper. I remember who said most of them and I was originally going to write that in as well, but I think I could use some of them later on, so I’ll just leave them nameless for now. Some of them, you can tell who could be part of the conversation if you pay attention to the names mentioned, but others are up in the air. Besides, the quotes alone are great, in my book. The different formats symbolize different people talking, as I couldn’t figure out a better way in the larger conversation points, but the ones where there’s only one person are just plain text.

“So you're not a monster, what are you then?”

“A survivor.”

“It's not here.”

“We know. Yeah, glory's fine. Revenge is more fun.”

“Look, this is a bad idea. They will see this as impertinent.”

“It was your father who warned me to stay away. Said it was awful watching you struggle and feel powerless to stop it. But that sometimes… that’s what parenting is.”

*shrugs* “Yes.”

“Look, I get that Nancy has issues, I’m just getting tired of her taking them out on me. I feel like… maybe it’s time to do something about it.”

“You could make an appointment to see Mr. Kane. He’s really good at talking-”

“I was thinking more like shoving Nancy in the nearest dumpster.”

“Oh.”

“I have a job!”

“Losing at imaginary poker?”

“Give me a second, I’m just starting a fight on Twitter.”

“I warned you, if you're not careful, you'll find out who I am.”

“Poseidon has ignored me my entire life.”

“You are his son!”

“I am Sally Jackson’s son!”

“Two things you never wanna be are small and scary at the same time. Things that are small and scary...get squished.”

“So, do we have a deal, or am I killing all three of you so I can eat in peace?”

“Ok.”

“Great!”

“Do you know what that feels like? To be so close to someone you love, knowing neither of you has any choice but to keep hurting each other?”

“I’m gonna kill him.”

“I knew I was gonna like you.”

“Is there a Greek god of disappointment? Maybe someone should ask him if he’s missing a kid.”

“This thing, Zeus's master bolt, we need to get it back, right?”

“Yes.”

“And it's gonna be hard to get, yes?”

“Extraordinarily.”

“And if the mission required someone to push me down a flight of stairs for it to succeed... you'd want someone who won't hesitate when they do it.”

“He isn’t here. My father, he just… didn’t show. I mean, ignoring me is one thing, but he doesn’t get to ignore you. I’m gonna make him come down here. I’m gonna make him see me. I’m gonna make him see us both.”

“No one comes ba~ack.”

“Dude! Don't make me come back out there!”

“You really don’t want the bolt?”

“Why would I want that?”

“To start a war between your brothers.”

“Why would I want that?!”

“Jealousy!”

“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but it’s all candy canes and rainbows down here. I don’t really do jealous.”

“Take your victory. Just spare my son.”

“Obedience doesn’t come naturally to you, does it?”

“No… sir.”

“I must take some of the blame, I suppose. The sea does not like to be restrained.”

“Ares is a moron. Perhaps you noticed?”

AU Idea:

I know I've said before that I didn't have much of an idea of what I'd write if I did this AU, but I think watching the books come to life a bit has altered that. I've gone through some of the books again and sort of figured out what I would want to see happen, so I figured I would put it all out here while I'm at it. Some things in my original post have changed, such as their parents, but I also have a basic timeline down as well. I feel like the vibes would be very similar to that of Camp Wanamaker as I plan on keeping things mostly around the camp at first, but there will be some big exploration further down the road as I develop an actual storyline. I do plan on going more in-depth on topics that haven't been brought up in the show/movies as I figure that would make it easier not just for me, but also for you. I have a lot of ideas, but I'll try to work it down to the first couple of chapter ideas as I haven't gone through the whole story's plot yet.

For starters, I think I would have Royce be the new kid at camp - an almost sixteen-year-old who was brought to camp by an adult demigod who rescued him from a monster on a field trip (Butchy, son of Zeus). He's pushed head-first into camp activities, and soon finds himself getting stalked by a pair of younger demigods who have been at camp for some time and have already been claimed (Bentley, son of Apollo, and Kona, daughter of Iris). The kids eventually corner him outside the Unclaimed Child portion of the Hermes cabin (where he'll reside until his godly parent claims him) and encourage him to try different cabins until he finds a good fit. Despite claiming the whole thing is nothing but a dream he'll eventually wake up from, Royce allows the pair to drag him around, starting from the top and working his way down.

Zeus, Hera, and Poseidon's cabins are all quickly dismissed, but before he can get much further, things at camp slow to a stop as the Hunters of Artemis arrive, having been told to stay at camp until the return of their leader and goddess, Artemis. Kona is quick to tail the Hunters, trying her hardest to find acceptance within the female-only group while some others stray to their original cabins to visit their former siblings. Upon asking why the Hunters seem to be a group of relatively young girls, Bentley brings Royce to his older half-brother Miles (head counselor of Apollo's cabin) who explains that the Hunters are maidens (which can be human, god, demigod, or nymph) who have sworn loyalty to the maiden goddess Artemis. They reject love for as long as they live and, in return, gain eternal youth and semi-immortality as long as they don't break their vows, or are slain in battle. There are some who leave if they fall in love, but very few do.

Not long after, the campers and Hunters are pushed into a game of rather brutal game of Capture the Flag, where Royce encounters a small group of Hunters who take pity on him as the new kid, a tall brunette girl with a silver circlet on her head giving him a hand up when the others in her group leave the area (Vivien, Hunter of Artemis and daughter of Hecate, goddess of magic, crossroads, necromancy, and the night). During dinner that night, Royce meets her at the fire as he puts in an offering to his still unknown parent and asks the girl some questions, trading names and finding out her previous cabin before she suggests he not push his luck befriending any of the hunters as they won't be around for long, and heads back to her table, leaving him more than a little intrigued.

I do have a bit more written out, but for now, I'm going to keep it there. However, I'm still going to show some of the parental changes I've made since my last post about this idea. There are only three, but they're there. I also have some plans to add in some of my other characters that I don't write as much, if at all, but they'll come in later on as I haven't quite decided where to put them.

Kona has gone from the daughter of Poseidon to the daughter of Iris (goddess of the Rainbow and messenger of the gods). I changed this because, although I love the idea of Kona just railing people with water when they do stupid stuff, the thought of her being this artsy, hippie-esque little girl who habitually makes friendship bracelets for new campers, who enjoys going around scaring people by turning the world black-and-white or momentarily blinding them with sunbeams. It's also known that children of Iris are great with art/creativity and have a strong connection with pegasi, so I can just picture her trying to use paint or something to give each of the pegasi cutie marks like in My Little Pony or giving them dyed manes/tails.

Vivien has a change of pace as well, going from the daughter of Athena to the daughter of Hecate and a Hunter of Artemis. The Hunter part is a relatively big plot point in the story as, like I said, they give up love in favor of aiding with the Hunt. However, I'll dive into that when I write the story. For now, I'll focus on the Hecate part. Hecate is the goddess of magic, as I've said before, and where Vivien is a collector of crystals in every universe and is great with magic in my Hocus Pocus AU, I feel it's a great fit. Another thing nudging me toward this is the idea that Hecate can be a tough parent, and her children must prove their worth and study hard to master their skills in magic. I feel like Vivien's already established, rocky relationship with her mom in my other stories would come into play in this as well, perhaps playing a role in her decision to become a Hunter.

Another change that I didn't mention in the snippet above was Mick. Mick was originally the daughter of Hephaestus, but I've since changed that as I feel it makes more sense in the way I've fixed it. Now, she is the Roman descendant (otherwise known as a legacy) of Minerva (Athena's counterpart) and Vulcan (Hephaestus' counterpart). Her mother, Mack, was the daughter of Minerva, and her father, Brady, was the grandson of Vulcan. This means that Mick is not at Camp Half-Blood in New York (the camp for the children of Greek gods), but at Camp Jupiter in California (the camp for the descendants of Roman gods), something I feel suits her fairly well and gives her a deeper storyline with not only Butchy, but also her usual friends.

Final notes:

Now, in case you haven’t noticed, I adored this show as a whole! One of my nephews who hasn’t read the books, finally had the chance to watch it, and loved it nearly as much as I did, which is pretty telling. I love that even people who haven’t had an interest/read the books, are loving this show. It’s just great! I have to say, the show is pretty good at explaining everything as they go and making everything feel as though it’s flowing properly. As if it weren’t obvious by now, I highly recommend watching the first season! It’s a great show overall, everything felt realistic, and it gave me a lot of ideas for the future (which, as you can probably tell, might include a Percy Jackson AU of some kind). Anyway, I loved it and plan on going back to rewatch it more as time goes by, but for now, I’m going to end my ramblings and go back to my little one-off story that I haven’t touched in what feels like forever!

10.ㅤ| changes: ㅤhere are a few of the changes regarding my irulan as i follow her from the movies and what could be, knowing of a few changes they did to the books.

chani leaving at the end instead of bowing down leaves open for exploration of irulan and paul's relationship, as a political alliance and as a marriage. even odd parallels between leto and jessica.

irulan is trained by the bene gesserit, however, she is told she is weak due to her individuality and not following most of the rules that are set for her.

i believe irulan is fascinated by paul atreides, aware that his mother went against rules to birth a boy when only girls are in the order.

she is a writer and scribe and transcribe stories from one language to another and speaks plenty of them.

regardless of paul, irulan always knew she was meant to be empress.

I'll put Marlo out of this because he's not truly a human muse in the first place ✌️

Astra is a natural blond, so he doesn't have a big hairiness in the first place and doesn't grow facial hair quickly either. He shaves everyday though, because he prefers to keep his cheeks clean and he doesn't like beards. He uses luxurious products to keep his skin very clean and soft, and he never injures himself due to his sensitivity to infections, blood, and whatsoever. He shaves with an electrical razor.

Gabriele is a brunette and is rather hairy (hairy torso, legs, arms...). He doesn't mind the beard at all, and off duty, he will keep a three days beard most of the time. However, for work, he's very dedicated to keep himself clean too. He will shave every morning, and he particularly loves the old razor blades from the barber. Once a week, he will also visit a barber shop to moister and hydrate his skin. He's good with blades, so he doesn't cut himself very often.

Gambit has a very disparate beard in the first place, so he has never liked to have one. He has holes on the cheeks, and his mustache doesn't look very luxuriant. He will shave himself after his night shower, and in the morning if he believes he still has a few spots he has missed. However, since he can be pretty much distracted with other tasks, he will cut himself here and there, especially under the chin.

Jovan is definitely the kind of man to have a thick beard in the span of a week. He's hairy a bit everywhere (he has a massive happy trail for example...) and he doesn't really find the necessity to shave. I'm a bit sad I don't have proper icons for that (in the manwha I cropped his faceclaim from, alas, Jovan is perfect but BEARDLESS). He would need to shave everyday if he wanted to keep his cheeks clean, but he doesn't bother nor care. His hair is soft though, even if he does nothing to take care of it.

Mads is also a brunette, but he has, I would say, a normal amount of hair all over his body. He grows facial hair quite quickly though, but some areas are less thick than others so we never have the sensation he has a massive beard, and with the army, he has adopted a certain routine. He likes to shave, so he would do it every two or three days, depending on how his beard might grow. He might cut himself if he's distracted, and he's probably the quickest among my muses to shave his beard.

Big, thick and quite visible red beard! The Scottish genes are strong with Mika, and he's naturally hairy. Like Mads, it's quite fair and normal, but for his face, Mika has much more beard than his brother. He can easily get a luxuriant beard in a week, and he needs to shave everyday to keep himself hairless. He prefers not to grow a beard, he somehow appreciates his baby face.

He doesn't have a lot of hair and doesn't grow facial hair either. He doesn't need to shave very often, and somehow he's glad, because of his illness, he might not even spot that he has hurt himself in the first place. He doesn't have an equal beard either, so he has never had the intentions to grow it, plus, a professional dancer, even more a ballerina, usually shaves it. To avoid accidents, he prefers to visit a barber shop rather than shaving it himself.

Kaizen grows a decent beard whenever he doesn't shave, and it's not something he wants to do very often. It's not very dark and he likes to keep a three days beard most of the time. He only trims it to keep it short, but otherwise it's rare for him to entirely shave. He doesn't cut himself either because Kaizen is very skillful with razors and blades, only a few small accidents here and there but it's quite rare.

Vex is almost hairless when it comes to his facial hair, due to his Asian background and his genes. He only has a few spots on his face here and there (mostly the chin and above the lips), but other than that, his skin is rather smooth everywhere else. He shaves once a week whenever he needs, and it doesn't take very long. He cuts himself sometimes, but it's never like pure massacre either.

Zodiac wishes to have a true luxuriant beard but he can't grow one and he hates it. He only has a few hairy spots on his face and holes a bit everywhere. Since he hates suffering from mockeries, he shaves everyday, just like his brother and father did before. He often cuts himself because he's a nervous person and he's not very patient, so he will rush in the morning or evening to get ready.

6. I am of legal age, but my muses are not. I am (20+) and don’t mind aging my muses up but there will be no smut! I am very uncomfortable with it, and I prefer to fade to black. I do not do incest or rape. The nsfw-ish thing you will find on this blog is violence (not including torture). This blog and muse bios are not spoiler free. The muse bios contains heavy topics this blog will cover so please read the side sections of the muse bios for the triggers! Trigger warnings will be tagged accordingly. (For ex: smoking tw). The things I tag with nsfw-ish? contain slight nudity and cleavage. I try not to reblog anything extremely graphic so let me know if something upsets you or if I’m missing a tag.

7. Please do not god-mod. Let’s not control each other’s muses or kill them off. I will always ask for consent if I feel the need to describe your muse’s actions. If I do god-mod, it was most likely an accident. Please let me know so I can apologize and refrain from doing it again. However, if your muse threatens to harm any of mine, expect them to fight back and if your muse is an enemy; then expect them to try to kill your muse as well. I will analyze if it’s possible for them to kill your muse and ask permission before carrying out the act.

8. If you follow first, I will assume you have read my rules and understand the triggering topics that can be presented on my blog. I usually follow back within the week so if I do not, it’s because you lack a rules page, or your muses are not from familiar fandoms. ↳ I am obsessed with snakes! Corn snakes in particular. I spend a lot of free time researching snake behavior, husbandry, and breeding (not that I plan to ever breed mine). I love to talk about them and I take the care of my own snakes very personally. I have two corn snakes right now.

MULTI OR SINGLE - In my experience, I prefer to run single muse blogs as mine usually get more attention than my multi's. But I actually really enjoy making, organizing, and running multi muse blogs. I love so many of my OC's it ends up feeling like less pressure than always switching.

LEAST FAVOURITE FACECLAIM(S) - Out of all my active blogs?? Shie's, but I have issues with Blue's too. I adore Phos HNK but he is not human which makes some of his icons funny looking jfdlksj. Glitter in his hair, no teeth, goop for arms. But there's only so many faceclaims I can pick from with a bowl cut, and the bowl cut is INTEGRAL.

— FLUFF / ANGST / SMUT.

FLUFF - I enjoy it when there's plot behind it, like a well built ship I'm very fond of. If that's the case I can't get enough. Otherwise, I find it kinda boring.

ANGST - My very favorite thing to write and read. All I do is come up with angst. I got my start in RP in my edgy emo teen years and that never left me. Give me ANGST give me PAIN give me EDGE. It adds such flavor. Nothing bonds muses like angst.

SMUT - I love to talk about smut or write little suggestive drabbles. When it comes to things I read in my free time, its smut 99% of the time. I have a filthy mind unfortunately. On the other hand I am abysmal at actually writing anything sexy so, it's very rare I ever actually write it out fully.

Verse Information - The Fire is Out

One of Blackfire’s plans went wrong, and as punishment, she was stripped from all of her powers, leaving her behind no stronger than any human being, and sent to earth. In this situation, the tamaranean princess was desperate, even afraid, she suddenly seemed like an entirely different person. She wasn't left with any choice but to seek help in of one of the very few people she didn’t leave on bad terms. Luckily, the person actually cared about the tamaranean - which was a rarity to experience for the alien at all - and understood that this wasn’t merely a prank or an attempt to get something from her.

Blackfire needed a lot of help on the first days, she was like a different person at first. Slowly it sunk in that her powers wouldn’t return, and while it was very hard, she eventually started to accept it and tried to focus on moving on and gaining strength again. She had to take a lot of sessions in training and moving because a lot felt different and her instincts still told her to fly or use her strength or starbolts often, but some while later, the tamaranean slowly came to her usual self again, minus all the abilities. She’s by far not as powerful or dangerous as she had once been anymore, but Blackfire does her best to still keep up a life how she liked it: With stealing, causing havoc, and scaring other people. Even if she now needs to use gadgets and stealth more than her previous tamaranean brute force and agitily.

She doesn’t keep her tamaranean armor or clothes anymore, instead and since she now can’t keep travelling between planets she switches to earthen clothing, and since it’s a lot more close combats now she wears her hair tied to a ponytail.

For this verse, I will pick some faceclaim once I have the time to make icons for it; for now, it will be iconless. -> I do have a Faceclaim by now, I think, Revy from Black Lagoon, and I do have some icons I took from an icon-resource website and recolored, but I might not feel confident in using those (bc I didn't do them myself)., so chances are that it will still be iconless.

I will default to saying the one that helped her was the Poison Ivy with whom I did the thread that inspired this, found on tradicans and no longer active for much too long already; but I am absolutely open to replay the setting, or something similarish, or just assume, with someone else being the one that offered Blackfire the help that she needed.

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for checking out Dex's page. I've had this baby since abuot 2017 and he was revamped in late 2022 and again in 2023. He's been through a lot, and he is absolutely the creative love of my life. So much time has gone into flushing him out and I really am so happy that he's back and better than ever. That being said, here are some things to keep in mind!

This blog is absolutely not safe for work. While there will not be any porn (and never will be), there might be some violent imagery. Fullmetal Alchemist isn't exactly gore free, so neither will this character. You have the potential to see depictions of child soldiers, violence/gore, mental illness, war, and human experimentation.

Now for me: my name is Sasha (they/the/theirs) and I am currently twenty seven. Writing is a hobby for me, and I will be treating it as such. I cannot be here every day, especially on weekends, but I will do my best to be around as often as I can. I do have a Discord which you are always free to ask for as long as we are mutuals. Minerva (Helluva Boss OC)

1 - This character is based off actual hybrids and existing demons and is fully intended to demonstrate how hypocritical the Goetia probably are when it comes to certain castes, and seem to be considering. As she's a hybrid intentionally and is a bastard child of some noble that died in house cullings, but she was taken by Stella when they were an adult into her house for her magical prowess as her Court Sorcerer and Entertainer. I imagine that Stolas isn't the only horny noble in the House of the Goetia? He just had a preference for something that they didn't allow.

2 - Ultimately a very dark humored character but is more light-hearted than other Stella's minions, mostly from the humor she's based on. I'd say she's probably more in line with the show being a comedy show?

3 - I'm down with this character serving other entities, possibly.

4 - This character is incredibly joking in terms of sex jokes and stuff like that and inappropriate, or even things that could involve blood in sex stuff or causing people to bleed or something more comical or near cartoonish. So I suggest blocking her tag if that bothers you. She knows how to act in formal settings, so her personality may change at times to fit as such, but her true self kind of comes out when entertaining Stella or in more casual settings where they curse, talk vulgar etc. 5 - I won’t go crazy with her magic but it’s mostly just for humor and then serious things when it calls for it.

Faceclaim: this above, a heavily recolored art. I will be using Verosika icons because I just have them. Close enough I guess so be aware of that.

Do I want them to die: They can? But it'd have to be from someone higher up wanting them dead most likely. She's not exactly important enough to assassinate. She can't exactly be binded and can even bind other people, granted, she needs permission from her mistress to bind someone as her own. Will I have/get icons: I have them. Tag: cold spelled | cold spelled (add 'insert rper's character last and first initials here then a single digit number) Age: Around six hundred years old, a young adult demon by the standards of her kind. Sex: AMAB Gender: Any pronouns Race: Baphomet Succubus/Goetia Hybrid (Though certainly leaning toward the former rather than the latter for her features that are prominent, her very nature is rather chaotic) Sexuality: If she likes you, which she's pretty picky even as a Hybrid, but not as picky as Stella, that's for sure. Personality traits: Bit of a cock-tease. Sadistic, loves torture, cruel, loves to joke, entertain, loves to joke at the expense of others. Likes puns, likes darker humor, likes to rhyme for her spells. Likes inappropriate humor. Likes to inflict odd, bizarre, and painfully strange curses and mutations. Loves helping those she cares about. Pretty loving if she likes you specifically. Down bad but numb to others prodding her for it or vice versa, tends to take only Goetia matters seriously. Likes watching people die hideously. Likes memes, internet stuff, human culture but tends to keep that under wrap around the nobles. She's more casual when it comes to parties, in the open, following Stella's example really in canon and also curses. Very loyal and subservient, as she likes stronger entities to act as walls between her and danger. Kind of a coward deep down, as direct fights she CAN do, but prefers to simply have someone take punches for her while she deals out heavy punishment. Cautious to danger or possible situations. Perceptive, observant. Intelligent, but a bit arrogant as well. Mental traits: Has a demonic mindset, but can relate to humans due to being a lust demon and knowing their wants. Physical traits: Around 8'0, so on the shorter side due to her hybridization. While semi-draconic, it's a rather softer looking being, but has a touch of a snout. She has hooves, a draconic tail with a longer and sharper tip at the end. Minerva is flat-chested, her hair is that of feathery down along with lacking scales? She has a thin layer of feathery down for her feather patterns for her skin tone and color, so she's rather fluffy feeling. Rather thick-hipped and then has draconic-like wings. Has a red, forked tongue and sharp reptilian teeth. Powers: her scaling would be that of an Overlord but she lacks the durability for such a position among the Goetia. So often she relies on stronger entities or using people as literal meatbags to shield her form from. - Lust: Death through Sex: due to her bloodline? She does not have the same restrictions as lower caste Lust Demons. If she has sex with your character without establishing a writ of contract? She can kill them through consenting sexual contact and absorb their soul and essence. Higher Demons such as Goetia, Sins or otherwise can innately see this. An Overlord would not know this, but be wary of her position, most likely. Feed from Pain: feeds from the pain of others, so she doesn't strictly need sex. Though she does enjoy it. - Lust Magic: (I'm not gonna do anything weird or messed up with this in terms of sex consent, so don't ask me, anything that involves this power has some form of consent if doing actual sex with her) Various spells regarding lust from charms, boons or spells regarding such. As she could metamorphosis someone or flesh shape them for example, granted the experience is excruciating and can be used to attack someone's mind, body and soul. Though while still extremely painful? It can be a form of demonic healing and she could very easily restore such things, recently dead through lust manipulation or even push someone far beyond their normal limits. She needs either consent or a bit of someone's essence to do this, however, or if she has their soul. - Shapeshifting Magic: she can take the forms of other people she devours and keeps them as a form of mask adorned on her sorcerer dress. They usually have horrified expressions, and the lights of the eyes in the masks can be seen following people. Notably, she can assume that of a more melted, goop-like form to escape, run, or hide. - Empowered Melding: if given consent, she can willingly meld her entire being into someone else to cast magic or act as a symbiote. Alternatively, if this isn’t a Higher Demon she’s serving? She instead acts as a parasite to any demon below that of an Overlord in terms of power, the person in question would eventually give-out and die from any enhancements she can give or be devoured from the inside out while she controls them or merely reigns control to them while they’re on a time limit- she can’t control whether or not she consumes someone, however. Minerva is not willing to do this unless a mental contract writ that nothing bad will happen to her with another entity she can’t devour or mind control, as it would leave her otherwise to someone’s mercy to simply be absorbed or outright destroyed in terms of sentience and used as a living, mindless symbiote infused into the being if the being has the means to do so to her. - Envy Magic (Combinable with Lust Magic): Shadow Curses involving love, envy or even flesh-based curses and diseases involving demonic stds or strange bizarre ones. Or using shadowy spikes in the environment, then shadows to get up from people and attack them. She needs someone’s essence to cast a Shadow Curse, however. - Shadow Puppetry (Envy and Lust Combined): if given someone beaten unconscious or mentally tortured to mind break? She can control them like a puppet and act normally as a sleeper-agent and mind control them from afar. This is a heavily plot-centered power, so I probably won't bring it up unless she sees someone she can use that's an NPC. - Demonic Summoning and Teleportation: through a five minute ritual? She can take someone who is willing from the demon realm to where she is or vice versa if summoned with a circle. The only limit is how big the circle is and (blood sacrifice if outside of Hell), and usually is for demonic invasions or excursions. - Pride: This is mostly used on those that are not demonic entities, but it’s to tempt any and all who have doubts, to further lead them to damnation. It’s the kind of power that overtime makes Kings and Humans go mad the more they choke on their own pride, leaving them open to possibly be broken by Minerva with her other magic. Though she can and will use this as possibly a sleeper agent if temporarily erasing who she is to herself, mostly when using her own magics on herself at the request of Stella to subtly break someone, an Overlord or otherwise in a more subtle manner. Granted, it really depends on the situation and usually she isn’t sent behind enemy lines for this.

Pride Sense: mostly those with forms of pride, honor Minerva senses and often follows Stella’s demands to influence them or do some of the following above, depending. - Protected: she’s usually protected and doesn’t stray far from her mansion or if she is outside? Usually is assigned a few guards or a host body of someone she’s broken and mutated, preferring usually a sinner demon rather than another Hellborn. Mostly to protect her actual form and body from harm. -

Hybrid Traits: Her magical pool is innately high from her hybridization and usually doesn’t tire from the designs she’s meant to serve. She COULD try casting other spells outside of her sins, but usually refrains from it as it’s rather tiring. - Essence Rules: it’s basically essence gained through touch, sex or otherwise to which she can store within herself. Then her own innate magic reserves can further extend it, though if given consent: it’s not expended as much. But it is a resource, basically to more or less just make her stronger magics not as spammable. Though, the stronger the person in question? The more excess essence she can absorb, but with non-demons? It’s life-force and they can very much die from this, killing someone with it absorbs a lot more essence or consuming someone through sex? She gains a pretty high amount of essence and does store it for later in her Alchemy Labs. - Motivations: To survive and toy with those she deems worth her time. To gain some friends, lovers, maybe new family. To gain power and carve a niche that’s non-threatening to her mistress/master and secure her place more firmly in Demonic Society. Backstory: She’s the bastard child of a Goetia Noble of moderate but not high standing and a Baphomet Succubus of relatively good standing. I headcanon that her origins probably are in the more magic inclined of the Goetia, and going off of canon? I think I did a relatively decent job of keeping her off of Stolas-Like abilities or needing set-up to do anything remotely similar such as teleportation which he seemingly can freely do with his book, then lacking insta-kill moves like him etc. Being a strong but more utility based magic user that can do some heavy harm from her studies and journey in her environment as a servant, but also a noble.

IN MY OWN SKIN. ( BACKSTORY. NON PLAYABLE. )

John was an envoy, a human known for their uncanny ability to adapt instantly to any sleeve they're given. They forgot almost everything from their time as a rebel, but have recollections of their childhood and some of his teenage years.

John had no interest in the war, but society made it so that he had no choice but to fight. He joined Quell and her rebellion when he was 17 and fought and lost alongside most envoys. The day stronghold was obliterated; they were just barely outside the range of the virus. Just enough that some of their data was corrupted, and he forgot most of his time under Quell.

This verse is for backstory purpose only, and will not be roleplayed. Only the following verses (in their sleeves) will be roleplayed.

SLEEVE ONE. (BACKSTORY + 3RD VERSE. )

The awakening in his new sleeve was not pleasant. His stack now belonged to an AI company that'd paid a little fortune to get their hands on a couple of soon-to-be-destroyed Envoy stacks. The purpose? Studying the Envoy's uncanny ability to adapt to different sleeves in hopes of one day, controlling human 'intelligence' in the same way they do artificial intelligence.

John didn't stay long in that sleeve but long enough to be used and tortured both in virtual and real life. The new government eventually figured out what the company was doing, and they 'put an end' to it when the public outcry became too great. However, the protectorate being what it is, they collected all the studies, sleeves, and stacks in the company's possessions for their own malicious gains.

I will not use icons in this verse as I still need to determine a good faceclaim. All RPS in there are also bound to be in a prison-like setting, as John was in captivity.

SLEEVE TWO & THREE. ( 2ND VERSE. )

His awakening in sleeve two was far less intense than the first, and he instantly adapted to his new body. Unfortunately, his stay in that body was also cut short as his ownership passed to another tech company that wanted to enhance his abilities as an envoy. While not locked in a prison for experiments like in sleeve one, he was still heavily monitored.

One wrong move and he'd be disabled, at least, that's what they were told.

One day, he got caught in the crossfire of a crime, and his sleeve got damaged, and his stack almost fragged. They resleeved him instantly, but he was found by another Protectorate mercenary group looking for the remaining envoys, hoping to destroy them.

I do not use icons in this verse either, as I've not found a suitable faceclaim. For rps in sleeve two, he works as a henchman for the company that monitors him. They do odd jobs, and they're constantly monitored, GPS under the skin and everything else. He is not outright aggressive but has trouble with authority figures and being told what to do.

As for the 3rd sleeve, it is when he finally breaks free and 'disappears' He's on the run, he has destroyed his trackers, and he knows he has to resleeve, so they are starting their mercenary career and raking in credits to pay for his future, and hopefully last sleeve.

FINAL SLEEVE. ( MAIN VERSE. )

This is his current verse. He is a mercenary for hire, and his track has all but disappeared for 150 years. He was kept on ice in Semetaire's black market for reselling at the highest bidder. Finally, someone bought his stack and implanted him in his final sleeve.

Unfortunately for the buyer, John had no intention of becoming someone's property again. It took him some time, but they eventually real death'd their new owner and disappeared any trace of his existence.

He now lives a rather violent, aggressive life as a mercenary for hire, waiting for the day someone will either kill him or he gets the courage to end it himself.

Fair warning: He is not a nice guy. He is not outright villainous, but he has no motivation to live, no fear of death, and certainly no moral compass to stop him from maiming and killing if need be.

1. I write fanfics. Check out my fanfics. I also write things that aren't fanfics, but not as much as I mean to, and they don't usually go online.

2. I'm an amateur/hobby leatherworker; I particularly like making leather armor and masks. Once the world reaches a state where it's possible to breath on people without worrying I'm committing manslaughter, I'm considering looking to switch to a leather crafting job.

Hi all! I’ve decided to finally make a profile for my Traveler/MC, Janus. This profile is a work in progress as the game is still being updated every few months. As such, there will be spoilers under the cut! Anyway, please enjoy and give my child the love he deserves 🥺

III. PERSONALITY

Quick-witted, sassy, and creative are just three words to describe Janus. He developed a sense of adventure as a kid from reading all these books about this hero who travels the universe and visits all these exciting places. His quick wits allow for some funny moments and unexpected and devastating comebacks when needed. Jan is also fiercely loyal to the ones he loves and will do his best to give them all the love and protection they deserve.

Underneath that mask of a wide smile, soft eyes, and a sharp sense of humor is a lonely child who grew up in a golden prison with abusive siblings and a million and one restrictions as to who he should be and how he should behave. He developed a fear of loneliness when he was growing up, believing that he was never truly loved by anyone (besides Nerissa (and Vexx)), that he was only his parents' political chess piece (who don't even remember his name), and that at the end of the day, when people are tired of loving him, he will be alone once again.

TL;DR Version: If Peter Quill/Star-Lord and Anastasia from the 1997 animated film of the same name had a gay baby, that gay baby's name would be Janus Peg'asi.

Dreams/Ambitions: Janus's biggest dream was to travel with his best friend Vexx around the world and perhaps never return to Goldis and forget about his family (except for Nerissa, of course). Perhaps the two would settle in a place that was just quiet and tranquil. Maybe a beachside house where they could just enjoy the peace and solitude the world had to offer without ever having to worry about being royal or even abusive siblings. However, the more he got to know the Andromeda Six crew, the more he dreamt about including them in his dream of peace, quiet, stability, and happiness away from everything that hurt them.

Fears: Janus' biggest fear is loneliness stemming from the idea of being alone. It's not in the context of literally being left alone in a room, but knowing that there is no one else left in his life to love. He may have, in a way, lived through that for most of his life, but it doesn't mean he enjoyed it. He hated being alone, especially because it was evident most of his family hated him for a reason no one even knew. For Janus, being alone meant he was no longer loved by those he gave his love to. Being alone meant no one cared about what would happen to him. Being alone meant he was, as Arlo and Celest would say, "unwanted." Being shunned away to one corner of the palace for most of his life doesn't do wonders for a person's social development. It also doesn't help that the others who reside in the palace wing he lives in are just terrible people. While his sister Nerissa was a breath of fresh air and Sorenn was a nice person (to his face, at least), Janus never really got to build solid relationships with any person except Vexx Serif, the Royal Guard assigned to him. Even in his time in college, Janus knew nobody really enjoyed his company solely because he was a Peg'asi. His fears only amplified when he learned that Vexx betrayed him and that he learned that Nerissa was among the casualties of the palace siege.

IV. RELATIONSHIPS

Parents: King Fenris and Queen Lucrezia the Solar Queen

Even though Fenris and Lucrezia are Janus' biological parents, he hardly knew either of them. Fenris was pretty much an absent father was only seen by Janus at events the youngest Peg'asi was invited to.

Lucrezia was cold and distant to Janus for some reason not even Nerissa understood. If there was any conversation to be had between Janus and Lucrezia, it would involve Lucrezia forgetting her own son's name and saying a different name instead (ex. Jonas, Jason, Jerome, Jamiroquai(??)), constantly ignoring or gaslighting her son's feelings, and basically making him self-conscious of his appearance. Regarding the latter, Lucrezia had a habit of pointing out Janus' physical flaws, calling him 'fat', and telling him that he's wasting the physical beauty he inherited from his mother by not improving his body and making himself look good.

Siblings: Janus has 10 older siblings but Nerissa, the eldest, was Janus' favorite one simply because he got to see her often. She'd interact with him without judgement and give him all the love for her younger brother. Nerissa saw so much good in Janus that it ached her to see his potential wasted because no one else saw it let alone wanted to nurture it. It was Nerissa who pushed Lucrezia to allow Janus to go to college in exchange of allowing her mother to have potential suitors brought to Nerissa (but it didn’t mean she had to marry any of them though lol). Janus worked hard to make Nerissa proud so that Nerissa's sacrifice of her freedom as a proud single woman who didn’t need a man to please their mother's archaic desire to have the eldest Peg'asi daughter wedded would not be wasted. They also bonded over a mutual dislike of their mother.

If there was a second sibling to note, it would be Sorenn and Elettra. Both of these older siblings were always nice and polite to Janus (at least to his face). However, they all barely spent any time together, which made it difficult to gauge if these two older Peg’asi siblings had anything in common with Jan.

Current Partner: Juniper "June" Nyux June was the first person Janus laid eyes on after the latter woke up after a time. He was so kind, considering they just met and Jan was a complete stranger to the entire Andromeda Six crew. When they started out as friends, Jan found himself constantly spending time with June when he could. He enjoyed so many things of their time together from the light conversations they had to just sitting together in silence and enjoying a nice quiet meal. If you could even count it as a first date, the time they spent together at the Festival of Valen in Teranium would maybe be one of Janus’ favorite dates with June ever.

The revelation of Janus’ true identity and royal past drove a wedge between the prince and the gunman for a while. When June distanced himself from Janus, it hurt the latter so badly that he fell into depression. Jan was so deeply wounded by the fact that yet another person he felt could be at least someone he saw a long-term relationship with - be it platonic or romantic - has slipped away from him because of something he could not control. He felt powerless for days and had no motivation to get up, which elicited concern from majority of the A6 crew. Eventually, after their return from the Azure territory in Cursa, June decided to finally talk to Jan and apologize for inadvertently hurting him when the gunslinger needed distance. They slowly began repairing their relationship over the next few days. After their mission in Orion, Jan and June decided to finally give the idea of "them" a shot and become boyfriends. During their downtime from missions, they'd spend time together (either alone or with Bash and Aya keeping them company) around the ship in the kitchen or in each other’s bedrooms. June realized that perhaps this thing he had going on with Jan was going to be good for him when Lizzie (his pet lizard) immediately became comfortable with the stowaway despite never having met him.

Ayame "Aya" Ikade and Sebastian "Bash" Ilahaj Aya and Bash are mashed up together in this bullet point for good reason. Jan, Bash, and Aya have tons of fun together, whether it's simply just hanging out at the kitchens together over a game of cards, cooking (except for Aya, who’s basically banned from the kitchen), or getting into mischievous shenanigans together, much to Calderon Lynch's chagrin. However, if there was to be a mom-friend in every friend group, the job usually falls to Jan to be that mom-friend (even if they take turns being that from time to time). These two crewmates also pretty much indoctrinated Janus into their favorite activities. They also all share a love for good music. One time, Jan was playing music and singing along in his bunker while getting dressed. When Aya and Bash barged in, Jan was too engrossed in the song and pretty much putting on a concert (for no audience) to notice them enter. Jan only did notice them when Bash joined in the chorus, with Aya following suit (despite being comedically off-key as hell). The three ended up putting on a concert of sorts as the rest of the crew gathered at Jan's doorway with varying reactions. Some were amused (June and Ryona), some were judging them (Damon), some pinched the bridge of their noses to keep themselves from going off because pretty much everyone disappeared from the bridge to see the commotion (Calderon), and others were confined and unconscious in the infirmary (Vexx).

Calderon "Cal" Lynch Jan and Cal were hostile with each other at first, with Jan not understanding Cal's cold and curt front with him and Cal just seeing Jan as either just baggage or a brat of sorts despite not knowing Jan's background. The more they get to know each other, the more they develop their understanding of each other. Despite the almost comedic sexual tension between them at first, they eventually develop a sort of friendly relationship wherein they both manage to push each other's buttons or tease each other, topped with a victorious smirk on whichever man won the battle. It was often Calderon, but Janus (despite being the master of sass that he is) managed to get the upper hand when he could. One infamous instance was the "Mr. Sixhead" incident about Calderon's forehead, earning raucous laughter from Aya, Bash, and Damon and a headache-inducing flick onto Janus' forehead (which left a bit of a mark for a day) from Calderon. However, when it's time to be vulnerable, they make sure to keep an open ear (and open arms in Calderon's case because Jan's a total hugger) for the other to talk. (It's usually Jan who needs to vent but Calderon is actually a great sounding board for advice, whether Jan admits it or not.)

Ryona Mi'haden Ryona was basically Jan's guidance councilor/older sister figure in the crew without question. When Jan fell into a deep depression not only after remembering who he was but also June distancing himself from Jan, Ryona was the one who took great care to listen to Janus and let him sob on her shoulder. It was with his interactions with Ryona that Jan realized so many things about himself -- mainly that he really was a lonely child who just wanted real human connections and tried to conceal his feelings with sass, sarcasm, and a smile. Ryona was always a good source of sibling-like comfort for Jan and it was always something Ryona was happy to be for Jan. Jan also appreciates how calming Ryona can be and would spend time with her (and sometimes Damon) for a quiet and calm cup of tea over some light reading. Sometimes, to clear his head, Jan would offer to help Ryona tend to her plants while they talk about their problems.

Damon Reznor Damon, Janus’ fellow “short king” who also stands at 6′0, was always someone Jan had a hard time getting along with at first. Their relationship went sour as all hell when Damon suggested they turn Jan over to Zovack. Janus couldn't get past this for a while and even called Damon a "heartless self-serving asshole", with the "self-serving" part met with an ominously angry clapback about hypocrisy aimed at Janus' privileged background as a Goldian prince. When they both learned that there was more to the other person than what both said about each other, they eventually made peace with one another, came to a mutual understanding, and made a pact to never lie to each other. He also stopped flirting (or teasing, depending on how one looks at it) with Janus when the latter made it official with June, but instead would tease Jan about his feelings for June. It didn’t stop Damon from trying to find Janus’ tickle spot(s), though. Eventually, their relationship got better after they began to slowly bond over literature and films, even if it usually led to Damon poking fun at Jan's taste in fiction (but actually lowkey enjoying it but would never admit to it).

Vexx Serif Oof. Where to begin with Vexx “The Ex” Serif? Vexx was essentially Janus' first official friend, given how it was hard for Jan to make friends because he was either constantly trapped in the palace or hated by his schoolmates for being a Peg'asi. Vexx was also Janus’ first love and first heartbreak. Vexx was an open ear to Janus' frustrations and dreams. However, when Jan learned that Vexx was not only using him to investigate any possible ways to infiltrate the palace but was also involved in the death of Nerissa, it stung him really badly. It took a long time for Jan to forgive his former Guard and the two found common ground to become friends again after Janus learned the truth about Vexx’s disappearance prior to the palace siege.

V. TRIVIA

Janus's name is from the Roman god of the same name. In Roman mythology, Janus was known as the god of beginnings, transitions, and endings. Alexander means "defender of men."

Jan loves breakfast food. It's pretty much his favorite thing to cook. You can win Jan over with a stack of fluffy golden pancakes or golden-brown waffles, bacon, sausages, eggs, hash browns, and a good cup of coffee.

When it comes to affection, his top love languages are quality time and touch. Speaking of touch, Jan is also an absolute cuddler.

Jan is a really good dancer. Beyond the ballroom dancing he learned at the palace, he also took a PE class in college that centered around more contemporary styles of dancing. He later put dancing into his workout routine on the ship (and even taught June some ballroom dancing 🥺🥺🥺).

Aside from June, he naturally gravitates towards Bash and Aya, instantaneously becoming friends with them and hanging out with them more often than the other crewmates. Bash and Aya actually gifted Jan a music player (they found at Teranium and upgraded) with a nice pair of orange earphones as a "Welcome-to-the-Crew" gift.

Jan is actually a really good motorcycle driver. Vexx, using his own motorcycle, taught him how to operate one whenever they would sneak out of the castle and they would drive into the city. When Janus left the palace to find Vexx, he stole Vexx’s motorcycle (that he left behind) and rode away into the night to try and find his missing friend and then-boyfriend.
