I think this drama speaks a lot of man and woman's attitude towards marriage, especially when it's been a long time and there is a distance between the couple.

Haein remembers every good thing about her husband, when they first dated, them sleeping together. The way he is still there after the baby loss after learning she is ill, women choose to hold on to good memories and they see the brighter side of their partners. But Hyunwoo's highlights are all bad, his good memories of her are hidden deep down to remember, he holds on the suffering to the bad memories that's why he only wants to leave her.

It just breaks my heart, the way she always waits for him to come and he just thinks of leaving. Episode 5 is going to be my END.

something something about haein wondering "does he believe everything I tell him" and hiring Vincenzo as her lawyer (with a doubtful license) and treating and referring to hyunwoo as her "husband" in front of (literally) everyone but hyunwoo and then announcing in a (very public and televised) press conference that eunsung threatened to put "her husband and former legal director behind bars" when both of those terms should seemingly be preceded by the word "former" hmmm

This show is doing a nice line on memory and loss. You have Haein who is losing her memory, not recognising people, getting lost and it is paralleled with her grandfather who also can't remember things, but who is clearly showing fear and distress because somewhere in his mind he knows all this is wrong.

It's an interesting play on dementia - what do we remember, what do we loss, what is hardwired in our bodies..... Her speech about losing herself and how she wants him to leave before the very end.....that hit hard as someone who lost a parent to dementia....

But Hyunwoo haven't you realised you can't leave Haein on her own now - just like her grandfather, she needs someone she/you trust with her at all times.....

My theory for the end of Queen of Tears: Baek will save Haein and will probably die in her place. The drama revolves completely around how he is always saving her from death, putting himself at risk to keep her safe. I believe she will need transplant and he will be the donor.

Yes to all of what you said about Hae in and Hyun woo's relationship the discourse on some of these platforms is insane like people on Twitter and Instagram are unhinged and gave the dumbest takes that make it seem they're watching an entirely different show, "HW is toxic and evil and HI deserves better she's perfect" ummm.... I'm glad that at least here there seems to be a consensus of they're both flawed and need to communicate and do better

I don't understand how people are interpreting this dynamic weirdly when it is the same rich stoic chaebol x poor emotional affectionate girl like always the only difference is the gender reversal.

Haein is the stoic, cold, calculating, emotionally-constipated, workaholic, rich heir. She clearly loves Hyunwoo but she is so emotionally shut off that she doesn't say anything she just expects all of her feelings to be conveyed to him. Of course I understand why she is like that and i don't want to dig into her too much, growing up in that household especially after the death of her older brother was suffocating and she probably only worsened after losing their child.

But I can't say she is perfect when as I mentioned she never protected him from her family (at least in front of him), berated him in front of employees, never visited his family, never comforted him at his lowest, and never communicated her feelings.

Remember in like ep.3 or something Hyunwoo mentions that for the first anniversary he did a big party but she didn't like that and at the second anniversary he did nothing but she also hated that. Like it is very clear that Haein absolutely sucks at expressing her true feelings and Hyunwoo isn't a mindreader, nobody is. You can't be mad at Hyunwoo for not understanding her feelings or not comforting her when she shut him out, when she doesn't tell him how she feels.

The whole shocked by the divorce is super common in this genre too because typically the male lead never thought his wife was feeling this way. Like those male leads, Haein believed that even though her partner is acting distant and closed off, that he still loves her because she still loves him when that couldn't be further from the truth.

You can't close your heart to the world and expect them to mourn you. If Hyunwoo didn't care about Haein's feelings then Haein equally ignored his feelings, both of them don't know how the other person is truly feeling and made little to no effort to resolve this miscommunication and just lived with the assumption. Their terrible, just abysmal, communication is making them suffer, they are supposed to do things together!!! they are partners!!! Both of them failed at being there for each other and it drove them a part.

I feel like HaeIn finally has accepted what could happen to her, the memory loss she was already dealing with and a future possible speech disorder from the brain injuries, and a certain death.

She has seen it from way to close this time, so she wanted to make peace with everyone, there is no time for recentment from the past, she'll just say everything she was keeping for so long.

Including the fact that the person that you most love is the person you don't want near when you illness is eating you alive. It's not glamorous, it has touch of shame, stages of loss, humiliation, and sadness, she doesn't want Hyunwoo to see all that, so she asks him to leave when time comes. She has accepted it end and she is giving her last instructions, to go. I hope they give her another chance in life.
