"She'll be back soon." Morena sat beside him and handed him the cup.

Jakkon's face twisted into a strange half-scowl. "That's..."

Morena stopped, but then he didn't continue, she crossed her legs and leaned back, watching the stars. "Then what is it?"

The Satyr glanced over at her, taking a long pause to consider his words, speaking slowly when they did come. "It's not 'if she comes back' it's 'why she left in the first place' and I know why."

"Well, why?"

"She's pissed with me. Again."

"Why?"

Jakkon scoffed. "I don't know, why the fuck do you think, Morena? I'm me. Why wouldn't she hate me?"

"What-"

"Oh come on! I'm a mess. Don't act like that's not true. Don't lie to me. You know exactly what I'm talking about. I don't know how she isn't angry with me half the time! I'm horrible! She has no excuse to be anywhere near me! Ugh..." He buried his face in his hands, tears seeping into his raspy voice. "I'm worthless! Of course she left me behind!"

"Jakkon, I'm sure-"

"Don't."

The Harpy frowned at him, and just wrapped him into a hug instead, wings settling around his shoulders. "I'm sorry. For everything. But you listen to me. You are not worthless."

Jakkon scowled, voice choked and cracking as he pulled back a little. "Don't give me that bullshit-"

"Jak, no. Whatever you think you've done to deserve to be alone, you're wrong. Because it doesn't matter. Whatever you think you've done, I forgive you." She pulled him into a real hug this time, and he froze, before he collapsed into her arms, sobbing.
