H. R. Hinnan, president and general manager of a downtown lunch chain, said: "During Lent we put on a Wednesday fish special… cod. We'll just keep on serving it only on Tuesdays. Then we've prepared a hot salad - yes, a hot salad. Then we're going to have three different kinds of macaroni dishes. We believe the public is going to enjoy meatless Tuesdays."

A stentorian voice which announced, "Joe's delicious hamburgers." when a King St. place was telephoned, became very feeble after the bad news was passed along. "I'll have to get the boss," the voice said.

The boss was almost philosophical. "If we can't get meat, we'll give 'em fish cakes. No, not fish cakes - fishburgers. That is," he added after a pause, "if we can get any fish."

Toni Ward, proprietress of a hamburger on Yonge St., is going to serve fish, hot and cold chicken sandwiches and salads. "We won't be able to even serve a western omelette-at least not with ham in it."

My Care Bear calendar has come in clutch again and let me know that May 28 is Burger Day. (According to different sources online Burger Day may be May 28 or may be August 22. I don't know why there's two different ones - I guess burgers are so important they need two days.)

Around the hype for Barbie (2023), Aussie burger chain Grill'd unveiled the Barbie Dreamburger.

Yes, the bun and sauce are both pink.

Burger King apparently also featured a pink burger in honour of Barbie - though, apparently, only in Brazil.

I'm not sure if it was released anywhere else, but most sources are only giving me Brazil.

Barbie's little sister Chelsea is a big fan of burgers too. Either that, or I'm really hungry looking at her.

I love the dog dressed as the fries too.

Long past are the days where Chelsea, then known as Kelly, would hang around the McDonalds while her big sister Barbie was on the clock.

Actually I'm noticing now for the first time that, first of all, Barbie is wearing shorts, which were not standard uniform when I worked at McDonalds, but also that Kelly is wearing a McDonalds themed outfit too. Barbieland features child labour. I have told you this before.

Well tonight's practice did not fill me with confidence.

We treated runs like the real thing and had classmates in the ring. On our first run Forte broke his start line sit to circle the person who threw the piggy for him last week, looking for it.

It took an embarrassing effort to get him back.

Our second run he hit the contacts but blew through them instead of stopping for 2on2off. I went back each time and made him stop but it took several attempts.

And our last run was better in terms of performance but I was super anxious and the instructor called me out on sounding too stern. Which, fair. This is supposed to be a fun game we are playing together.

My plan is to not bring the piggy in from the car at all for the trial. I'm going to try to let go of any feelings of embarrassment and just figure we'll NQ.

It's an opportunity to practice in a different environment since I expect it will be far busier than practices. But at least it's at our club so there will be some familiarity.

At the end of the day, a Q is not more important than maintaining positivity both for Forte and for myself.

I am glad I only signed up for two runs a day and two days. I think trying for four runs in a day or three days, even with only two runs, would be too much for me.

This is a reminder to myself to take deep breaths and not let my anxiety get the better of me. We both enjoy playing agility and it would be foolish to sour it with putting too much pressure on either of us.
