3. what’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?

sooo.... i haven't published this yet but it IS written so i'm counting it... but my favorite fic is part 2 of battle studies, it's called moratorium and even though it's part 2 of the series, i actually wrote it first and i had so much fun! it inspired the series, it got me writing, it helped me find a method to writing that produced results, i could go on lol love this stupid little story.

5. what’s a fic idea you’ve had that you will never write?

so many ideas that just rot in the wips folder. i have a kinda written cullen/trevelyan bonding over prayer thing that i started writing when i first played dai, and then just abandoned because i had better ideas, so this is basically never being written lol

7. how many ideas for fics do you have right now?

10 🫠 maybe 6 of these will see the light of day if i'm lucky.

this is from a dao wip that i'll hopefully get back to... it's a string of vignettes following amell called fairy tale.

She runs into Cullen after her Harrowing, her body still humming from the Lyrium she took to enter the Fade. His helmet is off, his curly golden hair catching her eye. His cheeks are pink. He stammers out a congratulations. 

Jowan nudges her. “Someone likes you,” he whispers.

“I’m just glad you’re alright,” Cullen says quickly. “You know.”

She raises her chin slightly, high on the glowing success of passing her Harrowing. “Would you have really struck me down if I’d failed?” she asks.

He stammers out a reply about duty. She looks him full in the face, her eyes steadily meeting his for perhaps the first time. Duty, love, sacrifice, words that are too big for her right now. Whatever. It sounds a little romantic anyway, being killed by a man who may love you because he swore an oath to the Maker. She imagines the heartbreak from the split second before he hit her with his sword would feel like something. Like anything.

📝Twas the (Snowball) Fight Before Christmas (G) by TheWayOfTheClam (A/K) Kotallo comes home to Sky Clan territory for the winter holiday and is greeted with an unexpected surprise.

📝The Memory Remains (T) by @little-box-of-wonders (Beta & Varl) Beta doesn’t know what HEPHAESTUS meant by a system reset, but any alternative—even destroying the Cauldron—is better than being subjected to the Zeniths’ will.

📝We'll Meet Again (T) by @goodvibrationsmp3 (Aloy/Nil) Two months after the Battle of the Alight, Aloy’s search for a backup of GAIA in the fringes of the Sundom brings her face to face with an old friend.

📝Game Night (T) by TinyBirds (A/K + Gaia Gang) The GAIA Gang is stuck in the Base during a snowstorm, so they decide to play some games to pass the time. The only game Kotallo and Aloy are playing, however, is with each other.

📝The Stars That Guide Us (G) by @dino-trash-kieran (Alva & Kotallo) Once more, Alva was surprised by Kotallo’s behaviour. Out of all her companions, she hadn’t expected Kotallo to be the one to ask to keep her company; usually that role was left to Zo, or on the rare occasion, Beta.

📝Winterlight Mistletoe (G) by @zyikic and @fogsblue (A/K) Aloy is invited to the Tenakth Winterlight Festival. While there, she watches the Tenakth custom of "Santy Claws", and learns about the cultural significance of hung mistletoe. --------------------

Donna Noble (Doctor Who)

Character I think about if I'm having a bad day <3 This scene between the windows in Partners in Crime never fails to cheer me up. Also: "You're not mating with me, sunshine!" Theeeeee best platonic relationship with the Doctor IMO.

Varl (Horizon)

Aloy did not appreciate this good dude nearly enough. I want Varl to be my BFF. T_T But HFW happened and... I won't say too much about that or we'd be here all day. He's alive in my head and that's all that matters.

Cimorene (The Enchanted Forest Chronicles)

Cimorene! She's no-nonsense and clever. She wasn't a fan of being treated like a princess so she went and "got captured by" a dragon so people would stop bothering her, and helps her cook and organize her library. I mean, goals.

Loki (MCU)

I wasn't into the MCU when it started getting big, and in fact I didn't see any of the movies until I read someone on Tumblr (c. 2012) going on about (paraphrased) how awful it was that people liked Loki because he was the absolute worst and if you liked him you were a gross immoral person and you should feel bad. So I went and watched this Avengers movie everyone was talking about. And guess what haters? He is terrible and I love him.

Parker (Leverage)

Although I am not brave enough to throw myself off buildings, sometimes I amuse myself by thinking "what would Parker do?" and since a canonical option involves stabbing someone who's bothering her with a fork and jumping out a window, the thought cheers me up even if I can't do that.

Aziraphale (Good Omens)

He just wants people (aside from Crowley) to leave him alone in his bookshop. He never fits in with his "side" but tries to do what they want anyway, because that's the good thing to do, and he wants to be good. I can relate so hard, buddy.

Milo Thatch (Atlantis: The Lost Empire)

Ok so... I totally had a crush on Michael J. Fox and I was already interested in linguistics back when this movie came out, and then here's a main character voiced by him who was a linguist! Milo had to be my favorite :D

Elena Fisher (Uncharted)

I will fully admit that some of my initial love of Elena came from her AI covering my panic-flailing self early on in the first Uncharted game (I'm THE WORST at games with guns, even on easy, it's actually embarrassing) - but she impressed me right away when she was not overly impressed by Nate. And her snark game is on point.

Zeb (Star Wars Rebels)

I feel like Zeb needs more love. Comic relief character who actually has an unbelievably tragic backstory! And his story has so much untapped potential! We never really get to explore what happened with Lasan, and then then dump Kallus in there with his defection to the Rebellion and his whole *handwaves* history with the Lasats and eventual apparent (b)romance with Zeb - and the show had so little to say about it! Huge angsty storytelling miss right there. (Dave why.)

Brian Finch (Limitless [2015])

This dude! Lovable but he would be SO exasperating to deal with IRL. His arts-and-craftiness just resonated with me. He was always making stuff out of toothpicks and yarn and papier mâché and clay and and and- I'm still mad this show only got one season.

as a matter of fact, i do!! this is a little snippet of ceasefire, my post-trespasser/post-break up fic. here, cullen and rylen are checking in on some new members of their ex-Templar rehab center:

The shouting wakes him. It’s always a shock but even through the fog of sleep, he gets to his feet and automatically throws on a shirt in one fluid, practiced motion. The hallway is mercifully empty, and the source of the noise has their door open. He can already see Rylen in the doorway, arms crossed. He steps up behind him, peering into the room, squinting to see in the dark.

“Alright in here?” Cullen asks. The curtains in the room are drawn against what little starlight can filter in, drenching the two men sitting on the edge of their beds in utter darkness.

One of the men says, “Yes. Sorry. Just a—”

“Nightmare,” Rylen says. “I bet the Inquisitor heard that one. She must think we’re beating you all in here.”
