my half self insert half oc for hfw... an self-inflicted outcast and traveling trader/ falconer!

He's not necessarily an outcast- more like a lonesome hunter who spends her days scowering the desert for machine and animal parts to trade. it was during a search in some ruins that he found a focus- and then found out how to tame chargers.

When Gaia came back online, she got signals from Trav's focus, but decided not to act on it, as she didn't want to reveal herself to some random stranger when she had WAY more important things to do. Then, after the events of HZD, she sends Aloy to contact Trav, as they need all the help they can get.

If she was in game, she'd work kinda like a very specific merchant- selling mostly animal parts and potions, but once in a while coming up with a rare machine part. After befriending her, he moves to the Base and hunts there- providing food for everyone and working as a convenient in-home trading center for Aloy.

And yes, Aloy can try to pet her harris hawk. It might bite her though.

Hey uh thought I’d finally make my first post lol. Didn’t really know what to post so thought I’d just post a WIP of my Horizon Forbidden West OC. Her name is Kerrah and she’s from the sky clan 🤩

update and rambling thoughts at 2am thingy;

last week we had a bit of a family emergency, and brain went into survival mode, and I'm still dealing with the fallout(hehe fallout) from it. Because of that, I'm still arguing with the fo4 fanfic. I think it may be perfectionism and just plain overthinking. There's something that is not sitting right. I've read and reread it and despite it being satisfactory there's something about it that isn't quite right. Which led me to this thought; I write novels, big chonkin epic stories. For some reason I'm struggling with the fanfic(s) and I think part of it is that I tend to drag things out a bit (look at the Union intro, 5k for the intro!!). And for some reason brain is thinking fanfic = not so complicated/not so long. I know that's wrong (there's one on my to read list that is at over 700k). But brain insists I'm making it too complicated and the scenes/sections too long. So I'm fighting with it, trying to convince self to just write the damn story, but self is a stubborn bitch and is resisting that. So, that said, the Union story IS coming along, but it's going slower than the !new!shiny! HFW fanfic. But it will be put up when I feel it's ready to be put up (or when I get fed up at it hanging over my head).

I've planned their story to be a bit more complicated than just a purely romance story (leaning towards more audience-interp levels) but we'll see where it goes if I ever get to writing it more consistently haha

Presenting my Horizon OC, Lucia, final product of the little ideas I got while playing the game. It just seemed like the world of hzd & hfw with all the types of cultures in each tribe could use something based on assassins. I was also a bit surprised that there isn't a tribe using Old World names, either because of the Cradle facilities or in the case of the Quen, so here she goes.

From left to right!

• Sorya (Horizon Zero Dawn): A former Eclipse runaway who's on a quest to right her wrongs. Journeying back to Meridian with newfound company, she slowly learns how to live life anew.

• Meril (Horizon Zero Dawn): A Banuk shaman who's trying to get over his traumatizing past. Curious about the world of the Old Ones, he finds comfort in trying to uncover stories of the past. (Meril belongs to @erevoid <3)

• Anash (Horizon Zero Dawn): A high ranking Eclipse who's devastated at the loss of Sorya, his only friend. Upon learning that she's faked her death, he abandons his morals and restraints and goes down a dark path, having sworn revenge on her. (Anash belongs to @erevoid <3)

• Luyten (Oneirophobia - D&D Original): A felifolk barbarian who's banished from her village for treacherous behavior against their religion. She and her unlikely friends adventure their way through the world of Speira and delve into the mysterious realm of dreams.

• Mercury (LARP Original): An orphan from a raided village who grew up to be an assassin for hire. Mercury makes her way into the ranks of a royal faction where she serves as a scout. She struggles with her identity as a person and doesn't let her emotions slip easily, making it hard to approach and befriend.

• Nameless (Minecraft): A biblically accurate amnesiac. Nameless claims to have fallen from the Aether but has forgotten everything else ever since and is desperately trying to find her way back. She spents her time in the Overworld learning how it works with the humans who nursed her back to health.

• Sol (Elite Dangerous): A seasoned pilot who loves explore the unknown. She's rebelled against the will of her parents to support the Federation, which has costed her contact with her younger sibling. She aspires to reconnect with them one day.

• Eden (Twenty One Pilots): A double agent who's an informant for the banditos, while also a trusted member between the bishops. The more she uncovers within the facility the further she's driven away from them. She slowly learns how to live between the rebels.

• Koi (Kingdom Hearts): Teleported from her homeworld under mysterious circumstances to Traverse Town like many others, Koi has to get used to a new form, environment and people, as well as dangers. She meets Tenelux, a fellow keyblade wielder who sticks around so they can find how to get back home together, combating darkness and jumping from world to world.
