summary: han knows how to reset your attitude

contents/warnings: based on the line 'you could use a good kiss!', condescension, brat!reader and subsequent brat taming, use of 'sister' as a pet name as he uses it for Leia in the movies (ie. not the way you'd use it towards an actual sibling), don't like don't read.

You call storming after the hotheaded captain through the corridors of his rickety ship justified, but Han calls it ridiculous.

"Han Solo," You call with a growl, you voice ragged and rough with indignation, "This is not what we agreed on!"

"You don't call the shots around here, sister," He lets out a deprecating bark of laughter at your anger, but his amusement fades the more doggedly you pursue him, "This is my ship, and I decide what we smuggle."

"And you've decided on rathtars?" You shriek, "They could massacre us all with only one tentacle, and they've got dozens!"

"That's why they're gonna be in cages," Han drawls, sounding for all the world like he's never been more exasperated, "C'mon, princess, y'think I'm stupid or something?"

"Pretty frequently, yeah!" You gush, ramming into his back when he stops in the doorway of his quarters. You haven't caught your balance yet when he whirls around, but he grips your jaw and leaves the steadying to you as he plants a firm kiss on your rage-stained mouth. There's not a whole lot of tongue, teeth, or anything kind, it's forceful and near-bruising. It's not a gesture of affection, it's a lecture, a chastisement, a scolding.

He breaks away and his eyes hold reproach as he levels a warning glare down at you, your face still held in his hands.

"There, crazy, 'that fix 'ya? I know what I'm doing, I wouldn't bring something onto the ship if I thought it was gonna kill us."

They're angry, you want to say, but Han's kiss has effectively silenced you, your jaw aching gently in his large hand.

He seems satisfied with this, knowing you wanted to fight but seeing that you'd chosen to secede, and leans in once more. This time it's a reward, a sweet, kind thing that he's happy to give you.

"Good." He decides, letting go and retreating into his quarters, knowing you'll follow at his heels the way you always do, "Just ignore 'em, baby. I'll do the dirty work, just pretend they're not even here."

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Primarily (and in more or less chronological order): Blake's 7, Star Trek: TOS, The Professionals, Highlander, Star Trek: tng. MASH, House, and The Fugitive (the film with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones). I have also written fanfic for MacGyver (the 1985 TV series), the West Wing, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Quantum Leap, , and various literary fandoms as an exercise in pastiche.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

The top three are MASHfics: Tuttle, All We Know, Go, tell them in Sparta - and four and five are both Star Trek fics (both Spock/McCoy): A Man of Integrity, and Through A Glass, Darkly.

5. Do you respond to comments?

Yes!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Oh, that's a difficult question. Possibly it's ""I would not be you for a kingdom" " - my Villette slash story: though in that case I was just using the angst Charlotte Bronte handed me in the novel. Likewise with the Blake's 7 story Cruelty Has A Human Heart, and the Good Omens story Let this cup pass from me, and the Highlander story Day and Night But, even what with stories where the angst is built into the source material, I think the angstiest ending is that of the long series The Games. (I considered MASH in Drabbles and concluded that as I wrote the 80 or so drabbles in the sequence individually and out of order, it doesn't really count.)

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

That is an extremely difficult question to answer. I like writing in universes full of angst. Many of my stories have hopeful endings, which make me happy, but I think the unequivocably happy ending is the MASH story Responsible Indefinitely For Each Other’s Welfare. Because there they are, together, at the end of a long life: and Hawkeye is still the same delightfully annoying trickster as ever.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Sometimes. Usually for ridiculous reasons. "I hate that pairing!" Well, don't read it then. "So-and-so isn't gay, he's too masculine!" - Oh, honey, let me introduce you to some big strong bears, you'll love them.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I would say mostly no, but occasionally yes. I believe sex scenes should be essential to the plot and full of character development, so I rarely write just pure smut. But I did write a Stargate Atlantis story, What I Tell You Three Times Is True, which was purely written as a sex scene, after a giggled conversation with a friend who was into Stargate Atlantis.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I love crossovers, both the reading and the writing of them, and have written dozens. I would say the weirdest one I ever wrote was a West Wing / Star Trek:tng / Drop The Dead Donkey crossover, No More Overtime.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not as far as I know.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not as far as I know.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes, sometimes. It's a fun thing to do with friends. I co-wrote the More Deadly MacGyver/Highlander crossover with Jakrar, sparked out of a paragraph she sent me in an email.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

"All time" - I don't think I have one. I've loved and still love Avon/Vila, Spock/McCoy, Bodie/Cowley, House/Wilson, Holmes/Watson - but right now my favourite ship is definitely Hawkeye/Mulcahy.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

The Buffy/MASH crossover. I just don't see where I'd find the time.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue, perseverance, imagination, angst.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Heterosexuality. Certain words which I always misspell unless I look them up, each time. Not understanding what is going on in people's minds, see 'heterosexuality' - also racism, sexism, and classism.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Mais c'est impossible. I prefer to write in English but signal that this is a different language being spoken. Bene, plerumque. I had to think about this a lot when writing ASL dialogue for All We Know.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Blake's 7.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Usually the one I am writing at the moment, which is to say All We Know - and the one I want to finish: A Hawk Through the Mirror. But I think technically one of my best is Friend and Stranger - a story set three years after the events of the 1993 movie The Fugitive, written in form as much like the movie as I could make it, full of sudden POV changes between Gerard and Kimble and attempting to get the emotional intensity and chemistry between the two of them that we saw on screen, down to a satisfying conclusion.

“what the kriff–” han’s muttering stopped as soon as he saw you, naked in your bunk. he quickly got out of sight before you could see him and cursed the maker. well, he wasn’t actually watching you but hearing those sweet sounds you were makin, he felt in paradise.

your fingers kept moving in and out of you warm pussy, your other fingers were playing with your hardening nipple. not only he could hear your moaning, but also that squelching sound.

Under a Paper Moon - Han Solo

Just a little blurb for our man Han! I’m being challenged to write at least a blurb a day, and this is day 1! Enjoy this cute little fluffy blurb!

“We’ve landed, your highness.” Han announces, sticking his head around the corner, catching a glimpse of your sleeping figure. He leaned against the wall, a small smile gracing his lips before letting out a small sigh. Chewie comes up beside Han and mentions something about drooling. Han rolled his eyes and pushed Chewie’s shoulder lightly.

“Do me a favor and keep an eye on her, alright? I’ve got something to take care of..” Han says before exiting the falcon through the top hatch, not even allowing Chewie to give him an answer. It took an hour or so of him jumping in and out of the ship, but Han finally managed to set up whatever little scheme he had settled on. Once satisfied, he walked up to you, and nudged your shoulder gently.

“Your highness.. If I-”.. Han begins, but you don’t hesitate to cut him off. “Don’t say it.” Han bites his lip to stifle a laugh, and crosses his arms against his chest. “How do you even know what I was going to say?” “I know it’s stupid, next idea” You quip, covering your mouth as a yawn escapes you. “Fine. No make out session. But I did plan a surprise for you, so there’s no turning that idea down.” His lips quirk up into a smile as he grabs hold of your hand gently, pulling you towards the back of the ship.

He helps you out of the top hatch, and the sight before you genuinely made you gasp. Han had laid out a fluffy blanket on the roof of the falcon, two pillows and another fluffy blanket folded delicately in the center of the spread out blanket. “I know you’re missing home.. So I figured I could be a little sweet tonight..” Han said bashfully, the night sky doing little to cover the blush on his cheeks.

You happily pull him over to the blankets, laying down comfortably. You keep a good distance from Han, allowing him personal space as you two look up at the sky. There were tons of stars and a few planets in your view, which illuminated your skin beautifully. Han took notice, and slowly wrapped his arm around your shoulders, urging you to come closer.

You lay your head against his chest hesitantly, but relax as soon as he begins to run his hand up and down your arm. “Look!” You gasp, pointing up at the sky. A shooting star had just flew into view. “A shooting star! Make a wish!” Han gave you a lopsided grin, placing a small kiss to your forehead. “I’ve already got all I could ever wish for, right here in this moment, Princess.”

     When you bent over, Han couldn’t help the small groan that bubbled in his throat as the dress bunched up right under your ass. “Take. It. Off.” 

   You looked over at Han, his fists clutched. “What?”

    “That dress, take it off.”

    You smirked at him, “And what if I don’t, Solo?”

"I told you not to rush in there," Han's voice is stern as his face wrinkles with the force of his frown. He's peering down at your arm, a gash stretching from shoulder to elbow from where a sharpened staff had caught you in the heat of battle. It's not as deep as it is wide, which is a small blessing, but it does sting, moreso when Han slathers it in antiseptic.

"I was trying to help you," You protest feebly, "They were shooting at you."

"Uh-huh," He glances incredulously up at you, "And I was shooting back. That's what a fight is, sweetheart. If I hadn't gotten to you in time, they'd have plucked you off of that spear and hung you on the wall."

"I think I helped, though." Your voice gives way to a slight cough, courtesy of the smoke inhalation you've suffered, "'Cause they got distracted when they saw me and that's how you got through."

"They got distracted 'cause they saw you as an easy target! You should let Chewie and me take care of the stupid stunts," He corrects you, stretching a strip of gauze around your bicep, "And I mean stupid; that was braindead, sister."

Humbled by your injury and Han's lecture combined, you grumble, "You are pretty good at stupid."

"Incredible." He marvels, sitting back and looking at your half-wrapped arm, "I'm sitting here, playing medic because you decided to run face-first into an entire Imperial fleet, and you're sitting here telling me I'm a moron."

"That's because you're yelling at me for trying to help you," You level him with as vicious of a glare as you can manage, "Face it, Han, you can't shoot your way out of everything."

"It's never failed me before," He insists, finishing up the dressing on your freshly cleaned wound, "But thank you, brave warrior, for charging headfirst into a fight you were hopelessly outgunned in, and making me circle back to drag your lifeless body back onto the Falcon."

Thank you for distracting them, is what he really means, but words like those could never come directly from his mouth. You know their translation though, and you grin proudly, "You're welcome, Han."

“you’re overreacting.” you said while reaching the cockpit of the millennium falcon. “i am overreacting?! you could have died out there!” well, han was right behind you, followed by a not less worried chewie. “but as you can see here with you, alive.” you rolled your eyes and sat in your place, waiting for them to do the same.

“oh yeah, right chewie? that’s incredible!” han took a seat and chewie did the same, they started the engine and finally took off from that karking village. “it was your fault in the first place, laser brain.” you muttered, keeping your eyes focused on the consoles around you.

“ah, no! i was trying to help, you just decided to ignore the plan as you always do.” han didn’t had to look at you to know that you were rolling your eyes.

once the ship went into hyperspace you got up and quickly exited the cockpit, feeling like the place were getting smaller and smaller. you sat by the holochess table and sighed.

deep down you knew that han was right, you once again changed plan without telling the others and not only it jeopardised your life but that of han and chewie too. you just felt like the plan wasn’t gonna work, that’s all.

han came to you and sat nearby.

at first, there was a kinda uncomfortable silence, but then he cleared his throat and looked at you, glad that you were busy focusing your eyes on anything but him. “hey, y/n. listen.” he called your attention and you shrugged, waiting for his next words, hoping they wouldn’t be the same as always.

“i care about you, and chewie– we care about you. chewie and i care a lot about you. i know it’s hard being around me so much time, i understand. i want you to know that you’re the best person i’ve ever met across the galaxy. you’re always willing to help others, you care about us and you try to help with the falcon as much as you can.” his words made you smile, but you didn’t interrupt him.

“hey, han.” you called once you got closer enough, he looked at your face and you giggled once you noticed how red is face was. “i love you too.” you leaned towards him and kissed his lips. he gently grabbed your face and kissed you back, then he smirked, “i know.”

you simply rolled your eyes and resumed kissing han’s lips, circling his neck with your arms.
