Opened twitter for 3 minutes and saw 4 people talking about enstars gay marriage (Not sure why? Maybe I missed a memo) and also about wataei wedding. In honour of this sentiment I want to remind everyone of the part in ring.a.bell where midori is like “No way I’m wearing a bride dress, I’m too tall so it wouldn’t look cute on me at all...” and leo is immediately like “Really? But I bet Wataru could pull it off perfectly and look cute” like. do with that what you will. perhaps even draw fanart of it you know I don’t know do whatever.

Okay so, I like that Professor Rumpel is both Rumpelstiltskin and the miller's daughter-turned-queen, and that her weapon invokes the spindlewheel from the tale, but the guessing of the name is so utterly lazy that I could chew glass

It literally comes out of nowhere. There is no buildup to the mystery of Professor Rumpel's name; she just randomly says at the start of the fight that if Fox, Neptune, or Yatsuhashi can guess her name that she'll let them go chase the Crown

It would have been so easy, too! Just have it be Rumpel's game whenever the students want something. Late to class and don't want extra homework as punishment? Guess her name and you're free. Got caught getting handsy in an inconvenient spot? Guess her name and she'll let you off with a warning. Hell, have some of the staff lean into it for comedy and comradery

This would naturally set up why Rumpel would offer an easy out to the fight and establish how steep a demand that is for our heroes. If no one's guessed her name in the many years she's been at Shade, what hope do they have of figuring it out in the next five minutes?

But, no. We get zero setup and the payoff doesn't even land! They guess her name and Rumpel attacks Neptune anyway. Right in front of the whole school, including Headmaster Theodore! In what world does that make sense? I get that she's desperate, but it feels contrived so Yastuhashi can do his thing and accidentally break the mind control

These books honestly read like a first draft of a story that really could've been something if more time and attention had been given. Rwby in a nutshell, eh?

The night was.. fine as far as nightshifts here go. Hellish, as usual. Tiring. The robot-things kept trying to kill Fran. The unfortunate usual song and dance. As she waits for the morning staff arrive she watches the cameras, flicking through them absent-mindedly. She pauses on one for a second, and her blood goes cold. There is someone in the building.

He watches in frozen horror as the figure gets ever closer to the office. The person is wearing a shapeless black outfit, and what looks to be some sort of mask over their face, black with large pink eyes. Fran finally springs into action, reaching for the door controls. He slams the button, but the door remains open. It's too late.

The person launches themself at Fran, who narrowly dodges, throwing herself against the wall. There is something shining in the person's hand, which grazes against his arm, leaving a small cut. Fran doesn't have time to think about it, and the person launches themself at her again, toppling him. Fran freezes as the figure stares down at her. They have him pinned to the floor. Fran feels a tugging at the back of his brain and slowly fades out.

Frankie awakens in a panic. The person hanging over him is peering down, head tilted. They lighten their grip for a second, and Frankie rolls the person over, then launches back toward his bag. He roots through it as the person gets up. Their hood falls back, and two long black ears fall out. Frankie grabs out a pair of scissors and wheels around, plunging the scissors into the attackers hand. The person reels back in shock, and Frankie wheels around and grabs his bag before sprinting out the door.

He gets to the front as the morning staff roll in. He doesn't tell them that there is someone inside, blowing past them to get to the car, and throwing himself inside. He does not stop moving until he gets to the house, throwing himself upon the bed, where he curls up into a ball, and fades out, leaving an empty shell under the sheets.

12. how are you?

im doing alright, i feel like ive been just. basically the same for like ever lol. but im not doing bad currently. im looking forward to hanging out with my best friend very soon so that makes me happy. other than that, things are as they always are.

id say hugs. though i yearn hard for both LMAO but i love hugs. i always want to hug for longer, but i pull away because im scared the other person will be like. wtf... lol but they are very nice.

(Spoilers for the Fourth "Letters from the Outlook") Wait, so if Grian's hands are damaged, then does that mean he cannot go back to his drafting job anymore? What does he do instead when he does eventually regain some movement and dexterity to his hands?

I basically answered this in the chapter notes, which is just that I did not intend for him to have long-term damage that permanently affected his function in a massive way. That's why he has physical therapy and a compression garmet and in the scene he says his doctor is fairly confident it won't be forever. Yes, it will probably affect how fast he can go back to the job (but also his mental health is going to affect that too) and perhaps he'll have to rest his hands more often. But basically it wasn't my intention to keep him from being able to hold a pencil forever, so I don't see why he can't go back to drafting in a while. He just couldn't hold it during that still-fairly-early scene because he hadn't regained a lot of grip strength.

Also his days of drafting are numbered anyway—by the 90s, architects started to use AutoCAD for their work instead of manual drafting :)

1: how i found out: i was browsing wii deleted you on ao3 and your story was literally on its first chapter. i’ve kept up since the beginning #og

2: final confrontation: oh my god i thought it was awesome. the way you portray mike is so interesting bc i never have seen anyone else portray him like that; i usually see people portray todd or henry like that so good job i love the creativity

3: part i liked most: i personally love the entirety of chapter 12 and like. any of the found family moments

4: easter egg: guessing you mean the title easter egg? i was rereading it a few months ago and i browsed the chapters right after reading chapter 13 and i was like. “Wait.”

I think I've been one of the first people to portray Mike as like an actual evil guy (outside of Chris' concept art, he was the one who was supposed to kill Austin but then they changed it to Henry to make his hate for Eteled make sense. it was actually one of the main inspirations for the plot twist)

4: YESSS FINALLY SOMEONE NOTICED. At first I named the first chapter after a song but then I thought. Hey. this could be a bit. I hoped for someone to realise the chapters were having a conversation, but for it to not be obvious enough that people will immediately realise something's up. The dialogue in the final confrontation was hell to write because mostly I just have plot points in my head I want to hit and then just write silly dialogue in between that sounds natural enough for the plot points to hit in a way that you'd find realistic, but in here I HAD to include very specific phrases without altering them because I didn't want for all the effort I spent planning the chapter titles to go to waste. I think I did a good job at it :D
