Greek mythology retellings that I like:
We updated this myth for a modern setting while keeping most of the story and major elements of the mythology intact
We made a story loosely based on or inspired by an old Greek myth, and we’re upfront about that
Greek mythology retellings that I don’t mind:
This is an adaptation for laypeople who have little familiarity with the subject matter, so we simplified some things out of necessity
This is an adaptation for children, so we kept it age-appropriate and handled the sexual/gory material in a non-explicit way
This is a ten-minute YouTube video that can’t possibly explain every tiny detail about this extremely complex topic, so we’re gonna stick to the basics
Greek mythology retellings that I loathe with every fiber of my being:
This is the Secret True Version of the original myth that historians have been hiding out of malice, and if anyone tells you otherwise they’re a liar who’s shilling for Big Archeology
The original myth was Wrong and Problematic and you’re Bad if you enjoyed learning about it, but don’t worry, I rewrote it to make it Good
I hate history, I hate reading, I hate the classics, and I especially hate ancient Greece. I did zero research whatsoever for this project and I have no respect for the source material or the field in general, and I’m very proud of that

There are several species of bats that are monogamous. Please don't spread information that isn't true.
Anon I'm going to take this in good faith and say yes I know this, and that animals cannot have romantic or sexual orientations in any way humans have or understand. However in that same vein bats cannot be transgender and [gestures at my username]. I'm less trying to spread misinformation and more demonstrating my support for poly people through extending my general blog theme to include them too.
I get how that might not be clear but I never claimed it's a real fact. Trust me, you would be able to tell if I was going off about real bat facts. It wouldn't be a two sentence throwaway post made at half 6 in the morning lol.
Apologies to the asker if you wanted a genuine answer. The answer to that is 'it depends on how you define it and the lens through which you view animals' or more simply 'its complicated'.

this is the anon from the other night and I just want to say that your headcanon about mr. b heating up when he’s feeling some type of way has me dead (in a good way) & I also agree that scud & mr b have been married as fuck for awhile but I feel that in the newest season mr b kinda seems 🙄 towards scud (but it’s probably cus of candice?? yea) also FUCK YOU for making me fall for that recent edit you made (I’m jk 😭) but also. Why in the original poster are the hearts only towards Mr b. Like isn’t the plot supposed to be that scud likes candice… but then wouldn’t there be… nvm
HAHA THERE ARE SO MANY EMOTIONS IN THIS ASK HOLD ON.
First of all, i’m gaslighting myself into believing scudlertron is real. What do you mean?? This is the original poster. It looks like that. Tara made it like that. they have been married for 30+ years i only took a screenshot of it…..
But no the moment i saw it i GASPED because the hearts going in lynns direction. I didn’t even need to edit it that much and it was already gay asf!!!!! sorry for tricking you though 😔
I feel like mr b being done as fuck with scudworth in s2 is pretty justified, i would be too if my husband started pulling some of the most abhorrent methods known to man to try and get a woman who is CLEARLY asexual or a lesbian (both so true) . Like i feel mr b is just annoyed he’s so fucking bad at a) his job and b) pulling women. That’s why he went for the robot instead /j
In regards to the mr b heating up when he’s feelin some kinda way. Literally canon to me idc. He is indeed just a little robot and has a big crush!! He can’t handle it!!!
i feel like the idea is quite synonymous with scudlertron fans, or at least it was. there is this absolutely WONDERFUL fanfiction about the same concept (i don’t know the person’s username on any other social medias, so if anyone knows.. tell me plz i need to tell this person this fanfic has been in my head for years)
literally owns space in my brain i think about it so much. Go read it!!!!!!!!!!! :)

SAG officially considers cosplays of current/past media as crossing the picket line as it can be seen as supporting the studios they're currently striking against.
Tumblr media
(link is to a series of tweets, which include the original poster of the screenshot directly asking SAG-AFTRA what the rules are for paid/influencer cosplayers who want to support the strike)
EDIT 2 (first edit in tags): the tweet in the OP has been deleted, so I'll be shutting down reblogs on this post just so people don't take the link as a solid source when it no longer exists. For context, the original link was from a content creator who'd emailed SAG-AFTRA about guidance surrounding promos, contracts, and influencers. The response from SAG-Aftra likely wasn't 100% detailed because things were still being figured out. As for more detailed questions such as what counts as an influencer and other really specific questions I've seen in the tags, that's not something I know. Maybe emailing SAG-AFTRA themselves will help, although I can't be sure.
If the original email or the FAQ were confusing to you, it's likely that it's because both were phrased in a way that would be understandable to people who'd be likely to scab, ie influencers under specific circumstances. It's not really geared toward the lay person (which is what the FAQ will make clear by their frequent use of "influencer").
Again, the notes (and frankly the original link itself) have some that this is about influencers specifically. I missed that keyword in the OP (typo). I need people to stop acting like I'm willfully fearmongering and spreading misinformation. I read the full thread. I read the entire FAQ. It's on you if you do neither. At the time of my reading the thread, the FAQ either hadn't been released yet or had just come out. I also need people to stop bringing up Neil Gaiman's Tumblr post when SAG-AFTRA has their own Official FAQ on their strike site.
For the FAQ, it's here. It's about influencers, both union and non-union. Iirc the non-union FAQ has some ways to help that non-influencers can also engage in, like using a hashtag or generally raising awareness.
If you have any questions, please please please direct them to official members of SAG-AFTRA. Email Fran Drescher herself if you somehow can. Regardless, support the WGA SAG-AFTRA strike.

😲AI: The Master Illusionist or the Ultimate Deceptor?🎩🐇
Did AI pull a Thanos💜🧤 and snap the reality out of our political campaigns, or is this just another harmless rabbit out of the hat trick? The line between fact and fiction is starting to look as wavy as the quantum realm from Ant-Man🐜.

🕵️‍♂️In the Game of AI, You Win or You Get Fooled🔍🧩
In this Westworld-esque reality🤠🤖 where AI-generated content is as common as zombie outbreaks in The Walking Dead💀🚶‍♀️, the responsibility of separating the real from the fake falls squarely on the shoulders of voters🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️. This isn't the Matrix; there's no red or blue pill💊 to help you out.
🚦Navigating the AI Superhighway: The Road Ahead for Regulation🛣️📝

Strike Support Declining - Here's how you can continue to support the writers
Since the WGA strike started on May 2, the public has shown immense support for the writers—sending food, snacks, drinks, and encouragement from across the world all the way to Los Angeles, New York, and other picketing locations.
But loud and vocal strike support—in the news and in public spaces—is notably declining the longer the strike goes on. So we're bringing you a few ways to show writers, studios, and fellow fans: we're still here, and we still stand with the WGA.
1. Post on Twitter (and other social media sites)
You might think social media noise won't be noticed by the studios, but it CAN encourage individual WGA members—and slowly but surely put pressure on the studios to make a fair deal.
If you follow WGA members such as Adam Conover (Adam Ruins Everything), John Rogers (Leverage, Librarians), Gennifer Hutchison (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul), Javier Grillo-Marxuach (Lost, The Witcher) [and many many more you can find through their following lists], tell them you support them! Hashtag #IStandWithTheWGA #DoTheWriteThing and tell them that you and your fandom are prepared to support them as long as the strike lasts; that they deserve to have their demands met and you're with them all the way. Boost morale however and whenever you can!
Likewise, actively push back against misinformation/disinformation. See a TikTok claiming that all Hollywood writers are filthy rich and we shouldn't vocally support them? Correct it with well-sourced citations from the WGA, published news articles, and stories from those affected (like the time a writer on FX's The Bear attended the an awards show with his bank account balance in the negative, only to then win an award for Best Comedy Series—proving that good writers on award-winning shows still cannot make a living!)
Remember you can always link to Adam Conover's excellent explanation of WGA demands versus studio refusals, tweeted here.
2. Donate or boost fundraisers
You might be surprised to learn that the picketing locations are not always parties! Sometimes themed pickets are fun, and fandoms and celebrities occasionally are able to fundraise for a food truck or ice cream truck at picketing locations. However, that is the EXCEPTION and not the norm. Writers are asking for food & drinks at many locations.
There are many funds to donate to, and it can be overwhelming to pick one! But one that could use your support RIGHT NOW is the CBS Radford picket line:
Tumblr media
-If you're in LA, you can bring food and snacks directly to that picket line (or get food deliveries sent there, with instructions to be given to the strike captain on duty.) Strike locations are available on the WGA West website and are updated there.
-Or there's a pizza fund for the strike locations (unfortunately Venmo is a US-only donation option)
Tumblr media
-If you're not in LA, donate to the Entertainment Community Fund to support TV and film workers affected by the strike.
-More tips on donating to the strike in this great article!
-Lots of fandoms are organizing donations on their own, for instance the Our Flag Means Death fundraiser on Paypal (updated 30 July 2023 with new link) (available internationally). Check to see if your fandom has started a fundraiser... or start one yourself to show your support! We're happy to give tips on organizing your fandom!
As always, please boost this post and any and all well-sourced information that comes from the WGA or its members. We're happy to fact-check anything you send our way too.
