Did you know there were more couples planned for Haven? We originally planned to have a wide array of pairs representing different forms of relationships! Which one is your favorite?

The Nest is a Class D ship that Yu and Kay stole from the Apiary. It serves as their home on Source.

Haven Artists i love you but you missed the chance for Yu to have (more obvious) complementary face marks to match Kay.

Couples Update of Haven game where one can play Kay and Yu as either lesbian or gay couple instead of just hetero couple is one thing but, thanks Kay's hairstyle as a woman, I find lesbian couple take on those two provided the picture of how Historia Reiss and Ymir from Attack on Titan would certainly look like if they truly become a couple.🥲

The weight this video has lifted off of me is insane. Ive spent most of this month wanting to make a video for pride and coming out on my channel (I came out to family and friends 10 years ago) the fact it's somehow my 100th video feels like fate. I pride myself on being authentic on my channel and I know I don't owe it to anyone to come out but I feel better now that it's out in the open. Back to the video I chose Haven because I love the story and Kay and Yu are such compelling characters to me and seeing them love each other is so wholesome and they make me smile and laugh at their antics!
Here's a link to the video

Headcanons about and AU differences to Haven (or me trying to make sense of the Apiary’s view and system on partner relationships):
~ Other people, before Kay and Yu, were discontent with their Match - or that they were Matched at all - and went into hiding. Depending on how much said people’s environment wanted the Matches to happen, they might get found fast.
~ What makes Kay and Yu different is that they’re the first who caused such wide outrage because one of their Matches is that famous and influential. The previous instances were hidden from the media / the media were forbidden to report on them or the affected people - the person who left, their matches, friends, family, other environment - mostly didn’t talk about it or it was dealt with subtly. Or they were quickly forgotten as ‘everyday drama’.
~ Also, people ignore these cases because they’re not seen as actually threatening the status quo.
~ A movement to remove the Matchmaking system already exists. It’s also seen as inconsequential (before Yu and Kay, that is).
~ Another reason their case became famous is because said influential Match was so outraged to be rejected that he went public, when usually, it was expected he handles the search subtly to save himself and others face. But then again, another first thing Yu and Kay did was to escape to places unknown, so it was impossible to find them.
~ It’s not talked about because it goes against the concept of ‘the perfect partner for life’, but even with Matches, you might have more than one in your life simply because your partner dies (or vanishes). These people get assigned their second-best ‘fitting’ match.
~ What is not talked about either is that Matches fail from the difference between expectations of getting your perfect partner and the reality of handling an actual relationship. The involved are suddenly thrust into getting to know a person they might not even have ever met before, expected to treat them as their partner for life. Sometimes the Match fails because of unexpected value clashes. Sometimes it’s because one or both of the partners don’t put in the work to make an actual relationship work since the ‘perfect partner’ belief is so prominent. Sometimes it’s because one or both partner are disappointed by the other. Sometimes it’s just that they don’t work.
~ How much the involved parties of a failed match show that on the outside differs from relationship to relationship. Ranging from acting as if they are the happiest perfect couple to silent suffering to proclaiming their discontent for everybody to hear.
~ Affairs are common in certain places on Apiary. They can destroy careers if discovered. Much more common are private agreements of the Matched partners about how they may act in private vs how they have to appear in public.
