The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Right Type-C Cable for Your iPhone

The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Right Type-C Cable for Your iPhone 15 Series in India
The iPhone 15 introduces a USB-C cable, following the universally accepted standard for charging, data syncing, and multimedia connectivity. This USB-C connector enables seamless charging and connections to Mac, iPad, AirPods Pro, external storage, and displays.
Pros of USB-C Port
The USB-C connector on your iPhone 15 opens up a world of possibilities, providing a universally accepted standard for charging, data syncing, and multimedia connections. Here are some key advantages:
Versatility: The USB-C port on iPhone 15 models allows you to charge your device and connect to a wide range of devices, including Mac, iPad, AirPods Pro (2nd generation), external storage devices, and displays.
Charging Efficiency: With a USB-C cable and a power adapter compliant with the USB-C standard, you can efficiently charge your iPhone. Using a 20W USB-C power adapter or higher-wattage adapter can enable faster charging, and you can also charge your iPhone by connecting it to the USB-C port on your computer.
Data Transfer: Connect your iPhone to iPad, Mac, or other computers for seamless data transfer using a USB-C cable compliant with the standard. You can connect external displays and other devices like MacBook Pro, Mac mini, Mac Studio, Mac Pro, iMac, MacBook Air etc that connect using a Thunderbolt 4 cable, Thunderbolt 3 cable or USB-C cable. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max support fast USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds up to 10 Gbps with an optional USB 3 cable.
Device Charging: Your iPhone 15 can serve as a power source for other devices, such as AirPods, Apple Watch, or any USB Power Delivery-supported device, at up to 4.5 watts.
Audio Connectivity: The USB-C connector allows you to play audio through built-in speakers, AirPods, or other Bluetooth devices. You can also connect wired headphones or other audio accessories using the Apple USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter.
Advice for Cable Selection
Employing the universally recognized USB-C connector, both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus facilitate:
MagSafe wireless charging up to 15W
Qi wireless charging up to 7.5W
Fast-charge capable:Up to 50% charge in around 30 minutes12 with 20W adapter or higher.
Featuring USB 2.0 data rates (480 Mbps)
In contrast, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max boast enhanced capabilities, accommodating
USB PD charge rates reaching 29W
Featuring USB 3.2 Gen 2×1 data rates at 10Gbps.
Check Device Standards: Ensure the cable matches your device’s needs. If your device supports Power Delivery, get a PD cable, and ensure the charging adapter also supports the same standards.
Use USB-C for Displays: Select cables that support data transfer speeds or list support for 4K or 8K video. Consider DisplayPort Alt Mode (DP Alt Mode) support for connecting displays and video sources.
Power Rating: Each USB-C cable is rated for a specific power amount. Higher wattage means faster charging. Consider the power needs of your device when selecting a cable.
Safe Charging Practices: It’s safe to use your phone while charging, but it may charge at a slower rate. Avoid using poorly made cables to prevent overheating and potential hazards.
The Best USB-C Cables for Your iPhone 15:
1. Zoom 100 USB Type C to C Cable UL1108BLK-0150:

Almost Good: USB-C
As of this year, USB-C is mandatory in the EU. All phones must charge via USB-C. This is good, right?
Well, almost. It's a step in the right direction, but it won't solve everything.
All that is meant by USB-C is the shape of the plug and the port. The USB type C port can be used for USB 2.0, USB 3.1, different fast-charging technologies like QC, PD, and other protocols like HDMI, DisplayPort, and thunderbolt. USB-C ports can be used with all kinds of devices, cables, adapters, protocols, and drivers. Some use only a subset of the pins, or use the same USB-C port with a different pinout. Now in theory, the EU directive is also supposed to standardise chargers and fast charging technologies, forcing sellers of phones to clearly label what kind of charger a phone needs.
In practice, you may already have chargers and cables that are incompatible with each other, or get downgraded to 5W trickle-charging and USB 2.0 data transfer speeds.
In practice, you may have a USB-C power bank and a smart phone, and you might accidentally charge your power bank from your phone, instead of the other way round. I saw it happen, albeit not to a programmer. Relatives of mine had cheap USB cables melt, and they were confused about USB-C to HDMI adapters. Are those passive adapters, or active components? Are USB-C to USB-A host adapters passive or active? Are USB charging cables active? Why do all kinds of things stop working when you use a USB-C extension cable?
I know the answers, but normal people don't. It's not the fault of the EU that people are confused about USB, or that the USB-C port is used for things that aren't USB, that smartphones don't have drivers for eGPUs, or that cheap USB cables you bought at the dollar store aren't made to provide 240W of power to gaming laptops.
In practice, USB-C is almost good.

hey guys,
something's wrong with my computer. it can barely run all my chrome tabs anymore like it used to. it still functions i suppose, but its very slow and doesn't charge with this one charger i have--my backup charger. i bring this one around so i don't have to bring my big one. the big one that is like my only dependable charger apparently. this backup charger works on my phone and my tablet, but my laptop just won't accept it as a charger for whatever reason. it's super cool and lights up when it's plugged into a power source. it's got 3 different offshoots for usb-c, lightning cable, and something else idk what it's called but it's like an hdmi-shaped version of the lightning cable sized one. anyway, who cares about all that. my laptop has not turned on while the cable is plugged in and it pisses me off so much. i wish my laptop would finally explode like it wants to so i can get a new one.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
im not really sure what kind of audience is actually reading my blogs. i know most don't keep up, cuz its a blog and no one wants to read about someones personal life go on and on, but it is very therapeutic for me. i honestly dgaf who reads it or doesn't. just that i have a place to put my thoughts. i would love feedback or any kind of response literally, like idc what, i like to have conversations with ppl so if u want to go ahead. ill try to stop asking, but i feel like ppl don't feel right doing it or are straight up just not reading any of this. who knows. womp womp.
speaking of which, the things i write about are the kinds of topics i want to talk about with ppl, but are the ones that ppl dont stay on for too long. what i mean to say is that i can bring something up and not have the time to say it all, or the interest of the other person to listen; wait; then let me finish my thoughts, and then actually want a response from them. i often find myself wanting someone to just listen to me go on and on, and most ppl can't stand that or can't stay on the same topic i want to talk about. if i ever do find myself with someone who will let me talk, i'm so conditioned to change the subject for fear that i'm bothering them and sub-consciously/consciously change the subject so i don't lose ppl in conversation.
i had no idea how to recruit "fans" or whatever lol. i had no idea who really wanted to read these blogs. i just find them fun--i'd like to think i'm funny sometimes and that people enjoy what i have to say, so that they can read into what i'm thinking about on their own time. i don't have to bother people with my existence in a conversation back and forth if they don't want to. if you can't stand my writing u can just click away. it's not a big deal. my whole thing is that if you really did want to respond, i'd be down to have a chat with you. i feel satisfied after getting this all out that i can decide to respond or not once i'm done because i've already gotten my thoughts out without being interrupted. you don't watch me type or see my edits, you only see the final product and that puts me at ease a bit. when i speak out loud, i typically say everything i'm thinking or not enough. often i say the wrong thing and people are quick to jump in and ask for clarification or even correct me. i'm not finished. many ppl aren't patient anymore and it's frustrating when my brain doesn't function the way most peoples brains do.
i think of something, then i think "why the hell did that pop into my head? what on earth is this related to?" trick question--its never related to anything most times. my brain just picks up on slight things in my environment and misconstrues them as something relevant to some memory and brings one up, or comes up with something new. i'd assume most people think like that. i just don't know how to explain that to ppl in conversation when were talking about one thing, or we're not talking at all and i just bring something up. that's when it makes sense to me. typically i think of everything at once so it's all relevant to me.
i like this shark. going in circles endlessly in one small space. he knows he can't go anywhere, but maybe he likes it. it's safe, reliable, and cushiony. i put the shark here for our entertainment, but i wont release him (cuz i will forget) but he shall remain happy or maybe he's hitting his head against the walls, thinking "when will she stop yapping" idk.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
im sweating like a madwoman. make it stoppppp. i was trying to experiment by not wearing deodorant/antiperspirant to see if it was all in my head and it is not. it's quite real and i hate it. i hate sweating so much. i don't sweat in my hands or back. just my armpits and private bits (it's really just my thighs lol). i wanna lose weight tbh. i hate my thighs rubbing together, it hurts when i'm wearing shorts and they just slide up and chafe. ugh i get so uncomfortable thinking about it. also my body just gets hot. it's just so annoying. i feel like this hyperhydrosis condition really spiked when i entered college. that's when i really noticed it first a least. my mom has it and i've been trying all different deodorants and antiperspirants with her, but i still sweat regardless. i think she said some work for her for a bit, but then don't again. i think lumē worked for her but just smells weird. who knows. maybe i'll try mens deodorant or antiperspirant. i don't want to throw out my current one cuz yk, money, but it ain't working...
idkkkkk.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
in the time i've written this, the charger still isn't working and even when i hold down the power button there's no response from my conputer to even tell me it's dead. i'm concerned but still couldn't care less. its not fanning bc i let it stop before it turned off. i think it just died and this charger isn't working. i sure hope it works when i get home tho. fuck this shit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
this body positivity movement related to hair on women is progressing more i think. i haven't researched it or anything, but i notice more ppl than i did before who seem female presenting or have feminine features to have body hair and i love to see it. it's still very scarce, but this is only one place in the world. ofc my hometown there's like no one and my mother makes fun of me all the damn time, so i never forget it. i just wish it didn't look so bad. like i don't care about it cosmetically in the sense that women shouldn't have it cuz it looks bad or cuz its not feminine, but i just don't think it ever matches my outfits. it pisses me off kinda. i don't feel like i give off hairy vibes. maybe i do. those aren't the vibes i wanna put out there. but see in that mindset, i'm stereotyping myself and still have the same schema. "what they're wearing is weird that doesn't match what i assume their style is!" type shit. i don't enjoy this mindset and it comes along with other stereotypical, generalizing mindsets i still have from growing up and am still trying to eradicate, but dang its hard.
i also study peoples behavior and people watch to learn and copy whats socially acceptable. so believe me when i say, it's fucking hard having hairy legs when it's still not common everywhere i go. it's kind of a fucking nightmare sometimes. and i know i sound like "oh, woe is me!" and sometimes i do feel like that, but its because i don't see enough representation--thats another reason why i do it. my real reason is that i don't care to keep up with shaving and i don't want to do it bc i feel like i have to. i don't feel like i want to, so i just don't. if one day i wake up and feel like shaving, then damnit i will. but i don't need anyone's approval or advice on it. i'm angry bc of what my mother says to me, so this is mainly directed towards the comments she's made, and my father, hell, both of em. i'm not taking this outta thin air. there are ppl attacking me, it's my family...
that's the funny thing. i haven't gotten any backlash from a single other person. funny... if they keep it to themselves, wonderful! i honestly don't care what they think, but do care that they are being considerate.
anyshways, thats why i don't love socks that pull on the hair and why i feel awkward in tank tops and short shirts cuz i still haven't gotten over the socially different part yet. this is revolutionizing for me even if it isn't for anyone else.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
if you actually read everything so far, you're cool, but if you're at the end and readin this, you're still cool but u just don't know what i said. i'll sum it up for you-
tdlr (i hate myself):
- computer bout to shit itself
- i have social anxiety and am a clinical yapper
- computer still boutta die
- ahh scary! hair on woman!!
youre here now.
yipee!!
i'll try to post Tuesdays through Thursdays i have decided. try to check then if u can....
love yall,
kD :p
Blue cable design. model will have 2 of these guys+the F ports which I'm still working on.
Yeah I took heavy inspiration from 15 pin VGA cables. I wanted some cable size variation on the back of the head+umbilical. for all its computer textures Rworld used a ton of textures taken from old computer motherboards and I wanted to roll with that vibe of familiar yet alien.
------
plus all the variation between old computer cables is neat. I do like everything going to HDMI, USB, and Type-C for sheer usability but I feel like we lost metaphorical computer genetic diversity or something. idk.
缶ジュースサイズのモバイルプロジェクターは寝落ちに最適 | ギズモード・ジャパン
以下引用
持ち運びやすさ、コスパのバランスが最適な1台が出ました(日本でももうすぐ出ます)。 米GizmodoがAnkerから発売された最小サイズのプロジェクターを紹介してくれています。Ankerのプロジェクターネビュラシリーズ最新の「Nebula Capsule Air」は、ドリンクのロング缶ほどのサイズ感でありながら、性能はしっかりプロジェクターとしての役目をまっとうしてくれる1台です。 重さは約640gでバッグに入れての持ち運びに苦も感じず、収納するにしても、場所をとらないし、さっと取り出して、さっとしまえるので「これからプロジェクターを使うぞ…。」と重い腰を上げる必要がなく、軽い気持ちで使えるのがいいところ。
セットアップもお手軽
セットアップも簡単。スマートテレビのような感じで、対応する主なストリーミングサービスから今見たいアプリ、コンテンツを選択するだけ。特にプロジェクターだからと言って特別な操作は必要ありません。なのでプロジェクターであることを意識せずスマートテレビの延長線上として使い始めることができます。 もちろんプロジェクターとしての強みは、画面サイズが自由自在であること。少人数で見るとき、大人数で見るときと場面に応じて画面サイズを変更できます。最大の画面サイズは壁から2.4m離すことで100インチにすることができます。さらにさらにHDMI入力端子も備しているので、映像コンテンツだけでなく、ゲームやPC画面を接続することができます。
明るさとバッテリー容量がネック
プロジェクターなので4K高画質…とはいきませんが十分に臨場感ある映像で、画面サイズでゲームなども楽しむことができます。小さなサイズ感となると、やはり外に持ち出したくなります。そんなときにどれくらいバッテリーが持ってくれるのか。バッテリー駆動時間は約2時間で、充電端子はUSB Type-C端子が搭載。実際外に連れ出してバッテリー持ちが2時間は、映画一本でぎりぎりといったところ。このサイズ感でさらなるバッテリーを求めるのは酷かもしれませんが、もう少し持って欲しかったな。 解像度は1280×720ピクセルで色の精度、HDRの処理も問題なく使えるレベルです。さらに画質を求めたい方は、より大きいサイズでもよければ、「Capsule 3 Laser」がよい選択肢になるかもしれません。こちらは、1080pが楽しめます。サイズ感と解像度のバランスを含めて、ご自身にフィットするものを選んでほしいところです。 明るい環境はやはり苦手で、Capsule Airの明るさは150ANSIルーメン。
「ANSI (アンシ) 」とは、アメリカ国家規格協会 (American National Standards Institute) の略で、この協会が定めた基準に基づいて明るさを測定するため、「ANSIルーメン」という呼び方がされています。 一般的なルーメンと呼ばれる指標は単に光源の明るさを測るのにし、ANSIルーメンは実際にスクリーンに投影された映像の明るさを測ります。 ANKER公式サイトより引用
昼間や明るい部屋では見えにくい印象。用途としては暗闇や夜の暗い部屋が最適のようです。あくまで苦手であるというだけで、夜や暗い場所でしか使わない用途であれば問題はありません。米GIZMODOのライターは、子どもの寝かしつけにこのプロジェクターを使用しているらしく、子守唄、絵本の読み聞かせをせがむ子どもに最適なようです。また、大人が寝る前にコンテンツを天井に投影して寝落ちするのにもよさそうです。スマホを掲げて寝るよりもずっと楽ちん。 その他の活用シーンとして旅行やキャンプに持って行くのもよさそう。旅の写真を大画面に投影してみんなで鑑賞するのは、一緒に見ている時間も思い出になりそうです。 もちろん画質は液晶や有機ELに及びませんが、それを差し引いても持ち運びやサイズと価格のバランスを考慮すると、選ぶだけのメリットがあるでしょう。 そんな素晴らしいモバイルプロジェクター「Nebula Capsule Air」は、現在(11月28日)時点ではアメリカでは発売済みで、日本ではまだ発売されていません。ですがまもなく発売予定とのこと。持ち運べるプロジェクター、使い道は無限大ですよ。
ok fucking
so i have a shitty little telly. bought it only a few years ago, bout a hundred bob, say. and it does its job adequately, 1080-60, everything i could ask for video. but the audio’s tinny horseshit. you can’t make out dialogue proper, and music sounds like limp spunk. and the telly doesn’t have a 3.5 so there’s no plugging in my 3.5 speakers. but that’s all ok because i use a shitty little streamer to connect to a bluetooth speaker, but it’s the streamer sending the audio, not the telly. because the telly don’t do bluetooth either
but the new xbox doesn’t have bluetooth. it doesn’t have fucking bluetooth, so you’ll be prodded to get ol’ Billy Gates’ fancy ass proprietary headsets. so theres no way of getting the xbox audio to the bluetooth speaker. and of course, the xbox doesn’t have a 3.5 either. gejakdkxodhsksksk
do you know how much a fucking dac costs. it costs a fucking lot is how much it costs lemetelye. i’m not gonna be forking out sixty bob morethan for the privilege of giving me telly a 3.5 jack. that price is for audiophiles, the typa person who deserves getting bullied in the street. all i want to do is hear. but there’s adaptors aye, adaptors between digital-optical and 3.5, but they’re all fucking male-male. i need my 3.5 to be female because my speakers are male and i am not going to buy a new pair of female speakers or a fucking D-O soundbar for the privilege of hearing me telly godsabove. and because life is beautiful i found a D-O to female 3.5 adapter for a very reasonable price, but “this is not a digital-analogue converter” so it’s a fucken worthless piece of plastic then innit
i fucking happened upon a real shit cheap dac after so fucking long searching. tenner for it, and comes with a D-O wire in the box. the fucking hoursssss i spent tryna find anything to get the audio to these little shitty speakers without breaking the bank. i just wanted to fucking hear, not pay massive audiophile prices. i feel like my loaf’s gone bloody mouldy
answer me this do we live in the type-C promised land where video, audio, data and power all share the same cable? and everything can be connected to everything with a simple clunk clunk of our oval overlord? no we fucking do not. so until that beautiful, simple day where 3.5 and hdmi and D-O and ethernet and type-a and everything else have been thanked for their service and retired, we fucking, FUCKING, need to do everything for compatibility. why the pissing FUCK wouldn’t you put a 3.5 on a telly
I got a discounted Steam Deck and I have a few requests for if Valve ever makes a deck 2.
I think instead of using the leftmost mouse pad type thing as the scroll wheel, I think the L1 and R1 should have clickable scroll wheels, which would feel much more organic for things like scrolling through weapons in an FPS or Minecraft's hotbar. Plus, the clicking could be used for secondary hotbars, menus or weapons.
Second, while I like that you can "click" the mouse pads, I think each corner should be its own click. It would make it a bit more natural to map the top 2 as left and right click, and perhaps the bottom 2 could be like when some mice have extra buttons on the side.
Third, I think the pads having mouse acceleration by default is a bit weird and makes things harder to navigate, especially on desktop mode that I'm betting most people using the deck seriously will be primarily using. I also wonder if maybe the corners of the pads should be separate buttons rather than part of the pad, so that clicking doesn't accidentally cause you to slip the cursor and accidentally click the wrong thing, which I have done.
Fourth, I think that there should be additional USB and C ports for things like wired keyboards, mice, or Bluetooth devices that need adapters to function. It would also make porting over files a bit easier than the microSD slot is. And given things like a keyboard and mouse might be crucial to certain games, it should probably have a kickstand and maybe even an HDMI port.
Fifth, and this is much more minor, I think modification should be a bit more accessible, maybe with a hatch on the back held by a screw rather than just screws on a flat back. That way you could throw bigger SSDs in more easily and also do RAM upgrades, which would definitely extend its lifespan. I wanna get a lot of use out of this thing, even with the discounted price and a drop from its initial price on top of that. Plus, if you make the shell more accessible, people can customize the shells, and maybe Valve could even sell their own first party ones. Different colors or patterns would be neat.
I'm still pretty happy with it, but these are all small things that would push it from "something I'm happy with" to "certified best handheld machine I could possibly buy".
