being an adult means we can buy or make as much self-indulgent shit (as we can afford) and unironically have trinkets of our fave things cause our teen years was bullied for liking things and hiding/denying we were ever neurodivergent to the point of suicide. sucks for anyone that thinks its weird cringe but I'm going to try and allow myself to love myself in little ways now

Bruce didn’t mean to slice Jason’s throat and if he did mean it, it was only to disable , it wasn’t lethal and the wound would’ve been treated, and though that didn’t happen it wasn’t Bruce who sealed Jason’s fate but Joker who set off the explosion, and anyways Jason didn’t actually die he comes back in other comics.

Except none of that matters. It matters for the validity of UTRH as a Batman story that Bruce has deniability sure, but does it absolve him? UTRH says No. At the end of the day Bruce would rather attack his son than let his murderer die. Bruce thought he was refusing the choice but the lesson of this tragedy is that refusing to pick one over the other boils down to choosing the other.

#I don’t care if Jason didn’t technically canonically die it doesn’t absolve Bruce one bit #we saw him bleed out onto the floor and then we saw the building debris his body would’ve been trapped under #narratively his arc was over he might as well have died a second time #Bruce doesn’t get point for DC deciding Jason was popular enough to keep alive he doesn’t get points for comic book bullshit miracles #‘Jason got revived a second time’ is as reasonable as ‘he walked it off idk fuck you don’t think about it’#the thing is UTRH is the most sympathetic Bruce has ever been wrt Jason IMO #but the split second decision he makes is so… significant #there’s a reason that the ultimatum scene of the movie version of UTRH gets made fun of #jason todd #batsalt #anti bruce wayne #put a pin on it

arguably gortash finding out the dark urge is resisting the elder brain's influence and sabotaging his plans is worse than his initial assumption that they were turned into a mindless soldier in the army of the absolute. hes already displayed some sense of sentimentality (in his own twisted way) by how he kept his parents around as mind flayer puppets. so it was probably some kind of comfort knowing that like, well at least this person i was almost friends with is still out there somewhere furthering my design. at least they're still under my control.

but then he finds out that not only have they retained their autonomy, they're now actively sabotaging his well laid plans. and its not even personal! the dark urge has no fucking idea who gortash is anymore - to them he's just some asshole politician who wants to enslave the sword coast. its just. so interesting imagining this from his perspective. the only person whos arguably just as bad if not worse than he is - the only person who gets it - and they get assassinated, mind wiped, and then they don't even do what his all powerful mind control crown is supposed to make them do. they just try to kick his ass cause hes in the way. i would be so mad.

#w101 #wizard101 #w101 fandom #wizard101 fandom #dasein #sal art #finally did a full-body piece of his post-canon fit for his and aedan's verse!#in their canon things go a bit differently at the end of novus #which means wallaru doesnt happen #so for a while dasein just kept his Pajamas Form (the blue smokey one)#but i decided that was more of an interim look than anything else and he needed something a little more permanent #and made this one!#right side crystal-esque pattern of his outfit is mostly based on the aeon armor #as is the blobby bits on his sleeves (which move!) and his rings (which mimic the gems on the hands on the back of the robes)#(since as far as im concerned he created the aeon gear and the hands are meant to be him literally 'having our back' so theyre His hands)#left side is based on both his canon post-wallaru fit as well as the gmod missing texture pattern #its a little too small to see but he has a collar chain that's got little eyes as the pins :]#he keeps the blue-grey color but gets his wings back and also isn't constantly shifting anymore #and he also keeps the old one's converse those are a permanent fixture--#the little eye fellas are like scouts/messengers and let him keep track of multiple parts of novus at once #without getting too overwhelmed #sighhh i could talk about this guy forever #one day i'll actually finish his and aedan's fic
