If you are free and in the mood, can you write about the M6 or just Asra, lucio, and Nadia reaction to MC donating third of what they make from working in their magic shop, like they donate it to charities or families that need money.

I can never resist adding the slightest bit of hurt to Asra's part (he makes me violently ill.)

I don't really know how I ended up having all of them giving to charities themselves but they all definitely would at one point or another.

M6 with a MC who donates to charity

Asra

He'll offer more ideas on how to donate or give to the charity of MC's choosing. He'll try to slip some goofy things in if they're donating to kids, he wants them to have fun!

They definitely kept this tradition up if MC started it before the Plague, since it was something important to them. Though, he'll always be a little teary eyed while he does it.

Once MC is able to walk and talk on their own, they'll ask them to pick charities every so often to give to. If they pick one they used to give to a lot he gets a sad look on his face they can't understand.

When they go on their trips they make sure to bring enough supplies back to donate a good amount and still have some for themselves.

Asra likes to donate to charities that focus on kids. Especially ones that include orphans.

Julian

He'll mostly tease at first.

Even though he's teasing, he gets a warm feeling in his chest seeing you be so kind to all these people.

Julian gets somber when he sees families struggling to stay together. It reminds him of having to leave Portia.

He'll absolutely want to be part of it but uh, MC, what do you expect this man to give?? He's been on the run for years!!

He likes to donate to medical related charities, but still varies often. His second most donated to is family charities.

Nadia

She loves that MC cares so much for her (and possibly, eventually, their) people so much.

She knows that the time she was asleep and with Lucio, she neglected her people. Even if she never meant or wanted to, it happened.

It warms her heart that they still cared enough to help others less fortunate.

She'd love to join! Just, tell her not to overwhelm these people. Please.

Muriel

He's honestly not thought about charities for...a long time.

Before him and MC get close he'll be on edge about it. He doesn't trust apperances.

Once he gets closer and realizes MC just wants to do it to be a good/nice person, he relaxes.

We've seen this man be so kind when he's finally allowing himself to be his own person. Apply here!

He likes to make things for charities. Blankets, Furs, etc.

Muriel would likely want to donate to charities that focus on family or orphaned children.

Portia

she is ecstatic!!

This woman has donated since she got herself into a good stable position and you cannot tell me otherwise.

She's been donating to charities that revolve around keeping families together or children. She understands the pain of losing family more than they realize.

She would want MC to donate to wherever they wanted, give as many people a chance as you can!

How do the M6 drive?

I recently got my drivers license and i missed these goobers so...here you go :)

Asra:

• Oh god...GET OFF THE ROAD!!!

• Pretty sure their license is a fake one...there is no way they passed a drivers test in their life

• Too distracted, forgets to follow the rules, forgets to put in the gas...

• They'd go to a gas station with the intention to fill the car with gas and leave with no money for gas but a thousand different snacks and drinks

• Prefers to be a passanger princess anyway

• Doesn't know anything about cars either, but that's why they have Muriel and/or MC ♡

• Stickers and little decorations everywhere they could fit. They're more concerned with the cars looks then functionality...

Nadia:

• Always the group driver

• Probably the only one responsible enough to drive more then 2 people

• Keeps everything up to date, follows every rule possible

• Is known to ever so slightly road rage during long car drives or really bad traffic

• Her car is neat and probably smells very nice

Julian:

• He's an okay driver

• Good at following the rules, no road rage at all, only slight annoyed glances

• Good reflexes, knows how to drive even under pressure

• His only big issue is that he will drive tired

• Obviously he'll claim he's fine and that he can handle it but after a few hours of driving, everyone would need a break.

• Falls asleep immediately after someone else starts driving

• Probably a messy car, but it works perfectly cause he does regular check ups (smells a bit musty though)

Portia:

• I personally think that she would not be a driver at all

• Even if she had a license, i doubt it would ever be her first choice to be the driver

• She's too scared, and panicky, and multiple lives would be relying on her

• Also, she'll miss out on seeing and yelling "cows" when the car passes some cows!

• On the rare occassion that she does drive, it wouldn't be too long, and she would be tense the entire time

• If she did have a car it would be a small, cute car. Nothing too much, though i think she prefers taking public transport

Muriel:

• Muriel is, i think, the perfect driver

• Doesn't road rage, good at following the rules, doesn't speed...

• But i don't think he has a license

• They are expensive to get, and it's not like he goes anywhere too crowded or important that the police would stop him

• He knows a lot about cars, probably lives in a car or a van with Asra

• Used to only drive with one or two people (Asra and MC) but as soon as there is more people then that he's tense and self concious and can't do it, especially not on any long distances

• Eventually Nadia gets him a proper licence

• He also wouldn't have a car cause he would share one with Asra, and he's mot that concerned with what it looks like

Lucio:

• ...

• No one is safe when he's on the road...

• He's not a necessarily bad driver like Asra is

• He knows the rules, and he knows when he is breaking them

• He speeds too much, only drives fancy fast cars, he's always in a rush to get somewhere

• Probably got his license revoked at some point

• Probably caused a few car crashes too...

• He doesn't clean his car or fix it, but he pays people to do it regularly. He has to have the fanciest, prettiest car, to match his personality.

What the M6 and the Courtiers smell like headcanons.

This is inspired by another headcanon from another account, but i couldn't really find them. (Please leave their name in the comments if you can)

Nadia:

• Perfume, specifically lavender perfume that costs two arms and two legs, and lotion too, sometimes she switches perfumes to experiment but always goes back to her usual perfume eventually.

Asra:

• Depends, he's always switching between perfumes and colognes, but more often than not they smell the same as you. As in, he steals your perfume or cologne, whatever you may use.

Muriel:

• Dirt, sweat, eggs, herbs, he smells like a lot of things, mostly the smells he picks up in the forest, but under all that there is the faint smell of burnt wood.

Julian:

• Random stolen cologne or 40 in 1 shampoo, no inbetween, but theres always the faint smell of rubbing alcohol on his clothes, you can't smell it unless you're close enough to see the fabric's texture, but it's there.

Portia:

• Like flowers, all kinds of flowers, it changes with the seasons as does her garden, theres also the smell of fresh baked goods mixed in there.

Lucio:

• Oh boy here we go. He smells like a gym, litterally, he smells so strongly of sweat it's sickening, he only showers in the weekends and only uses water to do it, he does NOT know what soap is you'll have to not only force him to shower but also teach him, after that tho, he smells like mint.

Valerius:

• Wine, i know this is the most basic answear, but it's true, if not wine he smells like really expensive cologne, NOT PERFUME, do NOT call it perfume, he WILL hurt you.

Volta:

Lucio with an MC Who’s “Definitely” Not Morga’s Family Favorite…

This is Lucio route btw. Very much inspired by @iliveforyouilongforyouvesuvia’s headcanon about the M6’s families with permission.

She denies all such claims. Actually, no. When Lucio whines and points out there is clear favoritism, Morga just replies, “Know your place, boy.”

She told you a story from her childhood while braiding your hair once. When she was a little girl, she and the other girls her age used to braid each others’ hair during their free time, and on a day after they practiced how to tie knots, one of the girls accidentally knotted another girl’s hair and they had to chop it off…

Morga probably takes a liking to your magical abilities. Normally, she’d be a bit skeptical after Lucio’s Biggest Temper Tantrum, but after spending more time with you, she observes how you use it in your day to day and eventually comes to respect it rather than simply not care.

Ever since you started cooking for Lucio on some days, you’ve kept a vaguely written recipe book of your best work and Morga was a little unsettled how you took it out while cooking so close to the fire. When you explained you kept a fire resistant charm on the book, you might have grown a little on her. Not that it was obvious. With Morga, a huff could mean a yes or a no, and it seems like only Lucio knows the difference…

She tells you many embarrassing stories of Montag’s ventures, including the one where he fled a sick bear. She’ll tell the occasional cute baby story that she knows he hates. Oh, but she does NOT leave out her experiences of her pregnancy with him. It’s a source of humiliation for him, one that he cannot justify. Lucio trips over a branch? His legs must be weak from all that kicking back then. He feels a little sick? Get up, boy. I withstood the plague AND having you in my stomach for nine months.

If you’re feeling sick, she won’t do anything unless it’s really serious and she can actively help, but will demand Montag take care of you as he’s groaning that he already knows. It does unadmittedly please her when he shows he can hold his own and properly care for you at the same time.

Her frigid heart hurts a little when she sees you two fall asleep together. It reminds her too much of the past, and she is stubbornly unwilling to accept that Montag can change so drastically for another person.

If you give her a gift, her reaction is deeply based on what you gift her. She has no need for fashion or luxuries, but if you gift her things she can utilize, she’ll gladly accept, and she might even return the favor. Her gifts are always hand-crafted by herself.

You haven’t even brought up the idea of starting a family yet but she’s already lecturing you about children. “A word of advice. Pray that you receive a girl.”

Asra: Tears of pure joy. MC! You're doing that cute thing you used to do! They actually remember that sick prank we pulled? He finally truly has the person he loves so much back. All of you. Who you were before and who you have grown so much to become.

Julian: Immediately asking a million questions. How??? What made you remember? Did you always do that? He needs to know. Don't you know how unprecedented this is, MC? He'll sit down and listen to whatever MC wants to tell him about their past when he gets over the initial shock; rest assured! Unless MC's bad habit comes back, then they'll also be getting a lot of "stop that!" "That's not good for you, MC. I love you too much to let you do that to yourself!" Even if the habit is like, eating too many sweets.

Nadia: She's ecstatic for you. She knows exactly how it feels to not remember, and just freeing it is when MC finally does. She loves to listen to MC tell her stories about your past. What was their childhood like? What's the funniest story they remember? She's also made it her mission to learn every new quirk MC rediscovers, it's like falling in love with them all over again.

Muriel: Muriel does not understand the joke you just told him. MC starts to explain what it means when they get to thinking, where did I hear a joke this raunchy. Oh right, from Asra, before I- OH. MC's sudden face of shock is not lost on Muriel, and when MC tells him they just remembered something from their past, that 1. explains a lot, 2. is the best news he's ever heard. He'll listen to any other memory you want MC wants to tell him about, reliving the happy ones with them and conforting them during the bad.

Portia: The first time MC recalls something from their past, Portia's wraps them in a big bear hug so tight it almost squeezes the memory right back out! Also happy tears! Now tell her everything. Right here right now. MC already knows so much about her past. Now you fess up! If you rediscover a nondestructive habit, it's the cutest thing she's ever seen now.

Lucio: You're welcome. Obviously, Lucio's love for you is responsible for this. But also, MC has never said something like THAT before. Lucio does not like that. He values having consistency in MC, so it's a little scary for him to see them changing so much. He'll try to hide it the best he can, but eventually, MC notice he's not showing off with as much vigor as usual, but once they assure him they'll always be there for them he's more open to discovering all these "new" things with MC, learning who they are together.

SpaceTime is Australia’s most popular and respected astronomy and space science news program – averaging over two million downloads every year. We’re also number five in the United States.  The show reports on the latest stories and discoveries making news in astronomy, space flight, and science.  SpaceTime features weekly interviews with leading Australian scientists about their research.  The show began life in 1995 as ‘StarStuff’ on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s (ABC) NewsRadio network.  Award winning investigative reporter Stuart Gary created the program during more than fifteen years as NewsRadio’s evening anchor and Science Editor.  Gary’s always loved science. He was the dorky school kid who spent his weekends at the Australian Museum. He studied astronomy at university and was invited to undertake a PHD in astrophysics, but instead focused on a career in journalism and radio broadcasting. Gary’s radio career stretches back some 34 years including 26 at the ABC. His first gigs were spent as an announcer and music DJ in commercial radio, before becoming a journalist, and eventually joining ABC News and Current Affairs. He was part of the team that set up ABC NewsRadio and became one of its first on air presenters. They look at you with the most adoring gaze the whole time, hanging off your every word (they’re daydreaming your wedding)

They find passion super attractive, they love that you have things that excite you so much

They try to prompt you into a rant often, either when you're both doing things together in the same room or at night as basically a lullaby for them 

Faust lays on your shoulders and lays on you as you rant, she squeezes you a little tighter if you're very animated and talk with your hands too

She doesn't mind, she just doesn't want to fall

Julian

You are his type of person 

He is the exact same way

You two basically share hyperfixations, like if one rants about one thing for too long then the other gets into it too and you just bounce ideas off each other 

Whenever you're both free, at almost all hours can your neighbors hear you ranting 

He's a pacer, he's loud, he's dramatic; hell be throwing his arms around everywhere and running his hands through his hair until he's just a ginger blur of motion 

You take turns typically, but sometimes you two rant together and feed off each other

Malak gets startled if voices get raised 

Sometimes he gets home too tired and he just wants to hear your voice, so you'll take a seat on the couch and he'll rest his head on your lap so you can rant all you want

If you play with his hair absentmindedly, he melts into a puddle

He loves letting your voice wash over him and wash away the day’s exhaustion

Loves it

She finds intelligence attractive, and especially if it's something she doesn't know much about

She gets a little flustered 

Sometimes if she's in a rush she shuts you up with a kiss and tells you that you'll continue later before going off to her next meeting or event 

She doesn't really care what you're ranting about typically, just that you're talking 

As in, she'll listen regardless and she'll ask questions to prompt you to keep going 

But sometimes she'll just be looking at you with hearts in her eyes after a long day

She rants to you too, occasionally

If you listen to her with the same attentiveness, she practically swoons 

Be still her beating heart 

If you give her the same treatment, like hanging off her every word and asking questions to prove you were paying attention, she falls in love all over again

Originally, she saw rants as…not very polite I guess

Unstructured, and she wasn’t the biggest fan of them

She felt like they were really emotional, and if she was too emotional she feared she wouldn't be taken seriously

But you take her so seriously no matter what she's doing and she loves you all the more for it

Muriel

Loves them so long as you're not yelling 

It takes pressure off of him to talk, so he's content to let your voice fill in the silence as you both go about your days 

It takes him a while to feel comfortable enough to ask questions but he gets there eventually

He's very attentive

He doesn't rant very often, but rarely, you can get him talking about something like a rare flower or his favorite type of tree 

And if you tell him you just like his voice, his face is on fire 

He may have to take a few minutes to reboot 

Inanna finds it funny 

He loves learning new things, while he preferred his life of isolation compared to living in the city, he didn't always like it

And you ranting to him is an easy way for him to learn too

Portia

She's a lot like Julian 

You both take turns 

Typically you share a hyperfixation and the Palace library barely survives as you two tear it apart in search for more content

Nadia finds it greatly amusing, not that she’d ever say so

More than once has she gotten up in the middle of the night because she had a new point to rant about 

She gets cranky in the morning when that happens tho, she needs her full eight hours so you’ll have to gently judge her back into bed and hope she actually falls asleep

She, like her brother, is also a big blur of movement, pacing and throwing her arms around and hair flying everywhere as if it'll get her point across better 

She's just as passionate as you are if not more so; as a servant she feels her words are worth less than others, so it means the world to her that you’re willing to listen to her and she’ll give you the same treatment

She probably hangs off your every word

Lucio

He found it a little weird at first but he got used to it eventually 

He tries to listen but finds it hard sometimes

He does prompt you to keep talking though, it’s good practice for him to get used to hearing what others have to say

He mostly just rants when he’s annoyed, but he likes that you do it when you’re excited

After a while together he finds himself actually listening to you and remembering what you say

Like he’d be out and see something that reminds him of our current hyperfixation and he’d buy it for you without a thought

Just because he listens to you doenst mean he always knows what your’re talking about but he does try

please don't take this post seriously, it's 99% a silly thing for me to document my Horse Race Tests thoughts for myself before the final day. the other 1% is in the hopes that the horse brain worms will spread far and wide, beyond the reach of ivermectin. as of the time of writing, the most recent race was e1m6t2 part 2, so everything up to there has been taken into account.

first pairing to talk about has gotta be Superstitional Realism x Cyan

they kinda started off as just a really sweet couple, y'know? like, they were both always losing, but they were losing together. Then came the labyrinth race, e1m4t1, just Cyan and Realism. suddenly frolicking around together until someone else wins is no longer an option. sure, they try to postpone the inevitable throughout seven minutes of equine eroticism, but the race had to come to an end eventually.

Realism's win was never meant to cause a rift between the two of them. it was never meant to send Cyan into a spiraling downfall, and force Realism to avoid Cyan out of her own guilt. but it did. So Cyan continued to get worse, questioning whether this was a turning point in their relationship, whether Realism cared more about the races than about her, whether Realism could still love a losing horse, whether she was even worthy of running at Realism's side anymore.

Cyan's time in purgatory (m6) was her attempt at training, at getting better, with the hopes of catching up to Realism. instead, all it did was make her spiral further and further into a hell of her own making, where she's forced to see all of her faults and inadequacies over and over again, magnified by her crushing loneliness. here she continues to lose, over and over again, to twisted beings matching her warped perceptions of herself and Realism.

Realism's plinko style 1v1 against A Mysterious Figure is simultaneously about confronting her own guilt for leaving Cyan behind, as well as assuaging Cyan's fears about Realism leaving her for good. Here, it is left up to Realism to reassure her girlfriend that she's here to stay, that she's worth fighting for, as well as proving to herself that she won't make the same mistake again.

then, there is of course the famous Jovial Merryment x Yellow

the peril Cyan and Superstitional Realism have been facing recently has easily received the most attention, and for good reason, but i honestly think Jovial and Yellow's is where the real tragedy is at. Yellow, willing to give it all up, just to ensure Jovial's success no matter what, and Jovial, exploiting Yellow's obsession with herself and pushing herself far too hard, all so that she can keep winning races for some reason long forgotten.

Yellow has already proven herself as a capable race horse back in e1m1t2, the second race ever, long before names were given to the winners. however, since that win, it's Jovial she's put her all into supporting, instead of the races. initially, this was just in the form of good-natured encouragement, but as she came to crave more and more of Jovial's happiness, she began to interfere with the other races, ensuring that Jovial would take the lead.

Jovial, for her part, viewed Yellow as nothing more than a tool to help her win, not much different than the drugs she used to run harder, better, faster, stronger, at least initially. it's worth pointing out that Jovial is a naturally gifted race horse, she just wanted more. eventually she did begin to enjoy toying with Yellow, taking pleasure in the knowledge that Yellow would willingly throw away her own success for her. we even saw in the e1m2t4 race how she used Yellow in front of everyone before going on to win the race.

i think it was after this race, though that Jovial began to realize how awful she had been. she'd come to develop feelings for Yellow and, in doing so, finally saw the repeated abuse she'd subjected Yellow to, pain inflicted for no reason than her own pleasure. in this rare moment of self-reflection for the champ, she finally sees herself as the fraud she is, using steroids and Yellow to win races, rather than her own skill.

it's an entirely new Jovial that joins everyone in the labyrinth in their search for Realism and Cyan. she doesn't win e1m4t2 to reassert her superiority as was the case in past races. Jovial instead comes to the labyrinth, roided to the gills (i have no clue how steroids work exactly, and i'm certain they don't work the way i'm implying here, but how about we play pretend together and imagine they're like the classic Power Increasing Substance that takes a Heavy Toll on the User as it wears off).

Jovial's come to the labyrinth, having consumed the rest of her "sugar cubes" with the sole purpose of finding and saving Realism and Cyan. she's not capable of facing Yellow, not in the face of all she's done to her. Jovial doesn't plan on coming back, resigning herself instead to that final finish line in the hope that her death may at least allow her to atone for a fraction of her life.

Yellow isn't aware of any of this of course. she doesn't even recognize the degree to which Jovial has exploited her devotion, although she wouldn't mind even if she knew. naturally, Yellow's experiencing a lot of inner turmoil about Jovial heading descending deeper into hell without her, wondering if perhaps she wasn't useful enough to maintain Jovial's interest.

the last couple i wanna talk about is Resolute Mind Afternoon and the recently christened Comely Material Morning, a couple that i feel often goes unnoticed among HRT fans. while it may not be the most obvious relationship, the ingredients are certainly there, so please let me cook, as the youth would say.

Resolute is overly competitive, sorta like Jovial, but actually honorable. Jovial's success led to Resolute developing a complicated infatuation for her, though it remained one sided as Jovial had no interest in someone who was both beneath her and unable to benefit her. at first, rather than making Resolute give up, Jovial's disinterest in her only fueled her desire to win, and, by extension, win over Jovial.

in comes Morning, a free-spirited horse who's simply here to have fun, not a care in the world for the fame and notoreity that comes with winning. she catches Resolute's attention fairly quickly, how could she not, a horse who doesn't care for winning is an anomaly to someone like Resolute, who's primary focus is first place. the more obvious it became that Morning was truly content with having fun, the more infuriated Resolute became. she resolved (heh) to train Morning, as that would surely fix her priorities. Morning agreed to additional training with Resolute, not because she had any desire to win, but because she she also sought to help her fellow contestant, but she sought to show Resolute that racing can, and should, be fun.

as time went on, Morning wanted more and more to see Resolute enjoy the race, to look at her rather than the finish line. however, with yesterday's e1m4t3 race, with Jovial going after Realism and Cyan in hell, Morning realized the danger her friends were in and wanted to help. setting aside her desire to run with Resolute, Morning joined those who had plunged into the unknown, and not just because she likes apples way more than carrots, although they do make her happy as they remind of Resolute.

it was here, seeing Morning win this race, that Resolute also reevaluated her priorities. she was shocked to realize that rather than feeling jealous over losing again, or at least pride in her training with Morning paying off, she felt concerned for Morning. confronted with these new feelings, she gave up on always running in Jovial's shadow, instead wishing to run beside Morning. whether she will get the opportunity to join Morning remains to be seen, but i certainly hope so.

As far as what the future holds, we've currently got Realism and Jovial facing off against A Mysterious Figure, Garbage Bin, and Nighttime Knifemare, with Morning presumably on her way.

although Realism has already beaten A Mysterious Figure once, it will likely take more than one defeat to put Cyan's demons and self-doubt to rest, though i'm certain Realism is prepared to keep racing for Cyan, as many times as it takes. with Realism fueled by love, and Jovial at least temporarily going super saiyan, i'm sure they'll win.

as for the rest of the horses, i don't have a lot to say as of now.

Door Knob's got unrequited feelings for Comely Material Morning

Downtown Skybox got pulled into horse race tests by her bestie Comely Material Morning. she signed up for some fun races, not all this, now she's kinda overwhelmed, but she's hanging in there

The M6 in a fairytale AU

Portia

Clearly the main character who has to go through a long, perilous journey of self discovery in order to become queen of the Far Away Land and save her dumb dumb older brother who used to be the king.

Julian

Current king of the realm. Protects at all cost his sister, marrying an Evil Queen in order to give his little sister a female figure to care for her. Ends up victim of the Evil Queen curse, some shit like being turned into a crow. Has to be saved by his sister. Annoying animal of the story. Gets regularly plucked by the fox.

Asra

The princess's helper. Presents themselves as a magic talking fox who guides her with wise advices through her journey. Eventually asks to be killed by her by some gruesome method (like being skinned), she reluctantly complies to find out that under the fox's skin emerges a beautiful prince of a far away land who was once cursed too by the evil queen.

Muriel

Is ordered to kill the princess by the Evil Queen. He refuses and becomes the princess's strongest ally. Eventually throws the queen out from a window, killing her and freeing Julian from the curse.

Nadia

Brave and strong knight (or iron maiden, idk) from a nearby kingdom who got invaded by the Evil Queen's army. Challenges Portia to a duel in order to grant her the passage across the bridge, gets defeated by Portia's wits and is baffled and admired to the point she falls in love with her. Cool scene where the defeated Knight falls from the horse, Portia runs to help her feeling super guilty and worried, removes the helmet and is revealed that the knight was a woman all along! They marry in the end, bringing peace to the realms.

Lucio

The Evil Queen.

Title of the tale: White as a queen, black as a feather.

Asra:

• Definetly knows

• Doesn't matter if you told them or not, they know

• They either caught on, or accidentally saw you changing and/or exiting your room

• Doesn't tell you he knows until you decide to tell him, and when you do they're like "reeeaaallly??? No way!!!"

• Does worry about your safety, even before you told them he always made sure to take care of your injuries, going along with whatever lie you told them

• Does offer to help sometimes, but mostly stays out of your business

• Will listen to your rants and troll any haters online

• Always makes sure to reassure you and tell you how amazing you are, with or without your superpowers.

Nadia:

• She had her suspicions...

• She knows your schedule very well, because she herself has a schedule that she has to follow very well

• So whenever you break yours, and it somehow affects hers, she knows something is up

• Once you do finally tell her, she's honestly a little offended you haven't told her earlier

• She can help you SO MUCH

• you missed a job interview? She found you a better one.

• Your identity is being gossiped about online and on the news? She'll buy the peoples silence

• Trouble with the law? She's on it.

• Will absolutely do anything and everything to make sure you're safe and taken care of, but will otherwise not get involved. This is your story, not hers, she's only here to support you.

Julian:

• Before you told him, he didn't know what was going on almost at all

• He wasn't THAT oblivious, he's just a busy guy and if you tell him you've been bumping into the same cabinet for 5 weeks straight and THAT'S why you're limping, who's he to judge?

• He finds out after an injury that didn't result in just a simple bruise, when you came to his doorstep, still in your suit

• He obviously helps you patch it all up, then looks at you confused. Why did the town superhero come to his doorstep for help?

• You have to take your mask off and explain everything to him before he's like "ooohhhh....OHHH????"

• Mind you, this would probably be in the middle of the night so he's groggy and sluggish from sleep (or lack there of)

• At first you think telling him was a bad idea, since he's constantly fussing over you now and wanting to help you out however he can

• You have to sit him down again and explain to him that you will happily accept his medical help, but that's it.

• He does eventually tone it down, but it doesn't help his paranoia

Portia:

• Depending on what kind of superhero you are she is either OBSESSED with you, or has a very deep hatred for you

• She's definetly very involved with the community, so she will have strong opinions

• Won't catch on until you tell her, which you might have to if you end up accidentally avoiding her too much

• The revelation would put a slight strain on your relashionship either way, because she would either need time to process that you are the mysterious person she's been hating on probably a little too much, or she will be a little TOO involved in your business

• It isn't anything you can't talk through and figure out, and you will end up appreciating her help and support in the end

• Thinks the mask is very hot, will ask you to roleplay with her

Muriel:

• He doesn't know or care

• He doesn't really follow the news or any events, so he's pretty oblivious

• Found out after he accidentally got involved in a crime and you had to step in to save him...which then ended up in him saving you

• He got really uncomfortable with the violence so you had to comfort him, which made him even more uncomfortable cause he doesn't know you

• You take off your mask, explain to him who you are and why you're doing what you're doing and eventually he calms down, listening to you

• He doesn't have much follow up questions, just "are you safe" and "are you hurt"

• That's about all he asks every day that you come back from a mission.

• Doesn't offer his help, doesn't tell anyone either. Will patch you up if needed

Lucio:

• He will seek you and your secret out before you tell him

• He will pay people, offer you money if he catches you in the wild with the mask on...it will consume him

• I can definetly see him becoming villainous for one reason or another, which can result in a pretty angsty storyline

• If you DO decide to tell him, or if he finds out, he will BEG to be your sidekick, and/ or co-hero

• You will need to talk him out of it, for his own safety, and probably your sanity

• Will be pouty and mad at you until you start doing hero-related romantic gestures for him

• It'll be hard for him to keep his mouth shut and not brag about dating a superhero, so be prepared

The Arcana Prequel - Your Questions Answered

Thanks to everyone who has sent us questions over the last few days! If there's anything else you'd like to know, my askbox is open.

Will the Prequel have an upright and reversed ending?

Yes! You’ll be following Asra during his time at the palace as he tries to revive the Apprentice. To succeed, he will need to win the trust of Nadia, Lucio, Valerius and Muriel. Whether he manages that and how far he is willing to go for his goal is up to you.

On a scale of 0 to 10, how angsty will this be?

We’re aiming to emulate the way the original game balances out the serious, gut-wrenching moments with more light-hearted ones. That said, grief, loss and unhealthy coping mechanisms will all feature heavily, so we’re going to say… 9.5?

How often does the story update, and how many episodes will there be in total?

We currently release a new episode every Tuesday, but we’re planning to eventually move to two episodes per week once some of our other ongoing commitments have wrapped up. As for the total number of episodes… we’re not sure yet, but definitely 20+.

Why did you decide to write this together?

@asrabounding (Azi) and I have been toying with the idea of making an Arcana Prequel on Dorian for over a year, but we realized pretty quickly that bringing it to life the way we were envisioning it would require more than two people. Azi and @motherofqups (MOC) first connected via the fandom all the way back in 2019, and we’ve all ended up bonding over our shared love of the Arcana, many congruent headcanons, and an admiration for each other's work. So this collaboration was a natural fit.

How much Asra x Julian is in this?

Their situationship will be one of the ongoing plotlines in this story. The choices you make will influence how it plays out and, to an extent, how much of it you see. Relationship points with Julian will not affect whether you get the upright or reversed ending, but can unlock additional paths.

You all have written Asra and Julian a lot, but which of the other characters are your favorites to write and why?

All three of us genuinely enjoy writing all of the M6 (and many of the supporting characters), but if you’re making us choose…

MOC: Lucio. His voice is so unique and he’s always flowed easily for me, but he still surprises me, even after all this time. There are so many knots to unravel and layers to unpack with him. He’s delicious to tease but he bites back, too, so he’s fun to play with whether I’m writing an angsty scene or a more playful scene. 

Azi: Muriel and Lucio. I have made myself laugh while writing them more than once, and their voices tend to flow naturally for me. I never have to wonder “what would Lucio say?”

Morella: Nadia. I love her sense of humor, and how absolutely savage she can be when she’s irritated with someone. I also really enjoy contrasting the way she can take control of a situation and command the room with the vulnerability that she only shows to a select few people.

Are the courtiers going to make appearances?

Yes. Valerius plays a major role as one of the characters that Asra will need to get onto his side to complete the ritual. The other courtiers will make appearances as well, though their roles will be smaller (similar to the original game).

I’m confused, is this meant to be canon?

No. Our aim is to stay faithful to the spirit and lore of the original game, but ours is just one of many ways to tell this particular story.

Why is the Prequel getting promoted by Dorian?

Dorian has criteria for which games get promoted. These include how many people play, how much money they spend, and whether the creators update the game consistently over a period of time. Over the past two years, Azi and I have built a track record of meeting these criteria for every game we release, so our stories now often get picked up for promotion early on (as do those of many other established creators on Dorian). The logic behind that is pretty obvious if you’ve ever been a fanfic reader deciding whether to take a chance on an incomplete longfic on AO3 - if you recognise the author and know they’ve finished their fics in the past, you’re probably more likely to trust that they’ll continue this one, too.

How much influence does Dorian have over the games you make?

The ideas that go into the stories are all ours, and Dorian doesn't tell us what to write. They do give us advice on what they think is more likely to succeed. It's our decision to take it or leave it. Sometimes we take it, sometimes we leave it.

Dorian doesn't set a release schedule for us, but they do offer more opportunities for promotion to creators who stick to a consistent schedule.

How much money do you make writing on Dorian?

Azi and I have both been writing on Dorian for going on two years now, and our earnings have steadily grown over that time. As part of that process, we’ve also gotten a lot more intentional about our release schedule. This has brought us to a point where our games make between $5K and $6K each month.

How much time does a project like this take?

These days, the hours Azi and I put into making games are equivalent to a part time job. We have tried different things and tested out what we could and could not handle on top of our other work and family commitments, and we have found our sweet spot. Luckily we are fully in control of our schedule and we make it work for us.

Persona 5 Divorce Support Group Au

This. Yeah this might be one of my weirdest ones yet

So the whole gang are divorced, and meet through this support group. They gradually become friends, and help each other heal and shit. Some of the divorces were on good terms. Others, really not

[Joker] - divorced from Goro, who refused to get mental health help. Like, this was a dire thing, and from a mutual friend he's keeping track of how that's going. It wasn't healthy for him to stay, but he's still in love

[Ann] - found out she's gay. Her ex doesn't keep contact, but she's dating Shiho now

[Ryuji] - his ex had a breakdown after the birth of their third child and left. No contact. Ryuji is doing his best to raise his three children on his own. His kids are Karudo (M8), Tei (F5) and Jun (Fbaby)

[Yusuke] - ex left because Yusuke cared more for his art. He is figuring out what being aro/ace is

[Futaba] - similar to Yusuke, but her ex, Kana, is still her friend and roommate

[Makoto] - split from her ex after he didn't approve of her leaving the force. They had a huge argument over it, and a really messy split. She has custody of their twins most of the time, but he gets every other weekend. As things progress, he loses time with them down to last weekend of the month, and eventually Makoto gets full custody after a huge scandal at his precinct is uncovered. The twins are Kishito (M6) and Rikito (M6)

[Haru] - she cheered when she found out her ex cheated. She was waiting for an excuse to leave his ass. She's known she's gay for years but didn't want to cause stress for her kids if she didn't have a good reason. She has full custody of them and gets support cheques every other month. Her kids are Amari (F13) and Seiu (M8)

Sumire is a member of the staff for the support group.

And. Yeah. Divorce au.

Plans are Makoto and Haru romance, Ryuji and Yusuke figuring out a queer platonic thing, etc

BROODY LEAF MAN

The dragon secrecy thing is... complicated. Shean is one of the "damage control" dragons determined to preserve it – but he is heavily weighed down by it, having to put aside his own feelings and entire relationships, both old and budding. Which is why, when he hunts down a young little fool of a dragon making himself known to select humans, Shean is willing to hear him out, and even give him a chance.

Perhaps, possibly, there is a chance that this time is different...

As for the M6 dynamics:

Asra: At the first impression, Shean doesn't care much (or at all) for Asra with his laid-back and somewhat mischievous demeanor. He recognizes that they're a powerful magician (for a human anyway), but not enough to impress him. Dealing with the Major Arcana is often frowned upon by most dragon cultures; even "talking" to them through magic divination is on thin ice. The Arcana are respected as forces of magic that are supposed to be separated from physical beings, unless they themselves decide to make contact.

Shean does warm up to Asra a bit over time. He still doesn't approve of Asra's meddling with mortality, but he also understands it, and in practice Asra is way more insightful and less careless than he seemed at first.

Asra is very curious about Shean (he is only the second dragon he knows) but it takes him a while to figure out how to approach him in a way that wouldn't just result in a "leave me be, kid" stare. Thinks that Shean is kinda like Muriel, but a lot spikier.

They probably smoke questionable herbs/mushrooms together at some point.

Nadia: Shean is very wary of her for a while. As he is with any political figures, but with with her position of power, Nadia's knowledge about dragon shapeshifters makes her exceedingly dangerous for his people. However, seeing how she is determined to handle this information as carefully as possible and sensing no ill will, he eventually develops deep respect for Nadia. And, dare I say, some form of affection.

Oh, he wouldn't actively pursue romance with her, no matter if his own feelings are of that nature (I'm not fully settled on that part). But he values highly the time they spend together, and is more relaxed around around her and Portia.

If history turning a page does come to pass within this lifetime, and dragonkind begins rejoining humanity openly, Shean offers himself as an advisor/draconic representative (and a bodyguard, in some sense) to Nadia. He still refuses to wear fancy clothing, and so fits into the Palace about as well as a spinosaurus would (yes it annoys Valerius and so amuses Nadia)

Julian: How did Alastor manage to find and bond with two men in their 40s who just can't shut the fuck up?? The combination of "high Intelligence, low Wisdom" is somewhat grating for Shean, though not enough to have anything against Julian per se. He is mildly amused by Julian's bewilderment with magic (though can and will call out ignorance), and by his brain nearly breaking when trying to understand intelligent dragons existing, as magic-fueled creatures no less.

(I could say that Julian tries to make some Moves on the rough gruffy merc, but Marty is likely already in the picture by then. This face probably still makes an appearance quite a few times around Shean though)

I don't see Shean spending much time 1-on-1 with Julian overall, they're on very different wavelengths.

Muriel: Assuming they actually get to meet (dragoat-timeline Alastor's chances of getting the myrrh charm aren't high, but ya know, we're talking about entire years passing), Shean can respect him and his isolated lifestyle. Shean is intimidating even for an average person, but he is a dragon of nature and few words, which balances out the intimidation factor at least a little bit for Muriel. 7/10, will chill quietly in the woods and sigh when Asra shows up with sweets from the market (the sweets will be eaten yes).

Can't say much about them unfortunately, since once again it's not even certain they'll get to meet in the first place.

Portia: Her sheer excitement over meeting another dragon is... slightly off-putting? When you spend your entire long life making sure that humans don't know about what you are, or fighting those that do know and want to turn you into a pile of expensive crafting ingredients, it's easy to forget that there are people who would be thrilled to meet an actual dragon shapeshifter. Portia has a million questions, and isn't as reserved about them as Asra is (though will also know when to pull it back when Shean isn't willing to talk about certain topics). Shean is quite selective with what he talks about or shows her, but he isn't particularly opposed to the curiosity.

After the initial stage of "holy shit you're a dragon AND a jaded traveling warrior" cools down, after a while Shean starts finding Portia's presence quite comfortable. He also has general appreciation for driven people and those taking care of plants, so Portia is good in his book.

(Can you tell I've considered a Nadia/Portia/Shean ship to sail? It's not exactly cemented yet, but there are a couple of Thoughts about it)

Lucio: sigh.

Really? Alastor, a member of one of the most powerful draconid species, chose that as— you know what, it's really not Shean's business at the end of the day. It is, however, his problem. Shean sees Lucio as a wild card: impulsive, aggressive, overestimating himself, and often acting or talking before thinking. Those traits make him a bad candidate for keeping world-changing secrets. Frankly, if not for Alastor, Shean would absolutely not give Lucio the time of day.

They keep butting heads for quite some time; or, more accurately, Lucio keeps butting heads with Shean, who mainly just tiredly tolerates his presence. Shean pisses Lucio off with his pointedly unimpressed attitude, and for all the development that Lucio undergoes between the route events and meeting Shean, his ego is bruised nonetheless when his ass is absolutely demolished in a sparring match (possibly more so because the old lizard somewhat reminds him of his mother. He ain't admitting that though)

The tension between them does ease up eventually, mainly because they end up spending enough time close by to learn to navigate around each other's clashing personalities, with Alastor's help. Shean might even be willing to teach Lucio some things (well, beyond the ones he HAS to teach both Alastor and Lucio if he wants to help them), if the latter lets go of his pride enough to ask...

(Shean doesn't really know why this is the time he doesn't complete his "clean-up" mission. It's not like this is the first time he meets an unfortunate human-dragon pair that wasn't careful enough to avoid outside attention. Maybe it's Alastor, with his amnesia stripping away the knowledge of millennia-old taboos, being an innocent victim of nearly-forgotten wars. Maybe he just got tired of this rationalized cruelty. Or maybe the kid is right, and humanity really is ready for a change that dragonkind can't avoid forever.)
