So about Camilo, we all know that he's still discovering who he is and all

but imagine if one day when he's just feeling so down that he asks the reader why they like him and that he doesn't even know who he is and why they like him

(or like maybe it would take a while for him to open up about these things)

And after the reader comforts him, they promise to be there with him every step of the way as he gets to know himself more

《No Matter What, I'll Be There...》

Pairings: Camilo Madrigal( He/They) x Fem!Reader

A/N: That's just pure fluff, though I shed a little tear in the end, I hope it will help those who feel like they don't matter! And if I used any Spanish words wrong, please tell me so that I can fix it! And just in case, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

"Mirabel! Come on, we need to go to that one market you suggested!"

At your declare outside of the Casita, Mirabel who was busy stocking some of her Mamá's food which she specifically prepared for you two to eat, started to rush out of the house while still trying to put on her shoes and almost fell twice. Seeing that she was having some problems while carrying the basket, herself and her shoes at the same time, you went to her and took the basket kindly from her and held her arm gently to help her gaining her balance again.

She looked at you sweetly and after finally coming to her senses, she took your arm between hers and started to swing it back and forth.

"Thanks for the help (Y/N)! I'm sorry I wasnt outside at the time I promised but me and Dolares were just looking for Camilo and we couldn't find him and he was just there a few minutes ago and I-"

"Mirabel, Mirabel! That's okay really. It wasn't even a big delay and you started to ramble again."

You chuckled at her embarrased face and nudged her with your elbow. But when you re-run what Mirabel just said again, you couldn't help but be worried about your lover. It wasn't uncommon for him to disappear just like that, probably planning another prank for someone, but even if so, they would always tell you since the last time he didn't, he fell into a river and spent one week sick on his bed while listening to his Mamà scold him worriedly and you bringing soups and making him eat it forcefuly.

Then, the good memories started to flood in your mind. The amount of pranks you two had done, the amount of times his Ma caught you sneaking in to see her dear son and watched with gleeful eyes... The times where he took you to everywhere and anywhere around Encanto, your dates with him where you two just layed down side by side, looking at the stars or the clouds and then you being bored and getting on top of him to count the freckles on his face and look at his eyes... You remembered the happy times you used to have with him, the big smile on his face but... They didn't smile that much, or at least you thought they didn't.

What was the last time he spent more than a few minutes with you?

You must have been silent more than you thought you were because the soft grip of Mirabel's hand on your arm shifted to lay on top of your back to rub it comfortably and when you shook your head harshly, you saw the kind eyes of the girl that was your best friend.

You just waved your hand to ease her and tell her that you were fine, took her hand and started to walk down the path to markets with the mission in your head to learn what happened to your lovely partner and what to do to make him happy again, you quickened your steps to catch up with Mirabel.

Not knowing that a pair of eyes were watching you go sadly...

"Why are you like this..?"

Camilo was busy looking at his reflection and questioning himself as always. That seemed like the only thing they had been doing nowadays the most. He was just looking at his reflection, pinching and grabbing his skin, looking at all the... imperfections. The tears started to fall without him knowing but even if he did, he didn't have the power to stop them.

He slid down to sit beside his bed and looked at the mirror blankly and pulled his legs towards him. He was always known as the cheerful one in the family, always changing into people to set pranks for people or help them in any ways with their jobs with his... treasure, the finest jewel that couldn't even be found in the treasures of the richest men.

" Mi tesoro..."

As soon as the thought of you crossed his mind, he squeezed the locket which held the photo of you both smiling like idiots at each other. The smile you wore was almost blinding to him, the most beautiful and graceful girl of the town just agreed to be his friend and later his lover when everybody else was running after them. He could still remember that day: the first day he introduced you to the family. The day that proved to him that you were the one for him and he was the one for you...

Camilo continued to cry and sniffle softly for a long time while still clutching the locket tightly, looking at the mirror while the words of others and his own's still ran through his head:

"Do I really have to be someone else to make people happy? Can I not just be me..?"

While Mirabel was buying what the Casita needed, you were wandering through the aisles to keep your mind off of what was bothering you. You knew that Camilo was still trying to understand who he really is and all that since "that was normal for teenagers to get to know themselves at that time" and that it was stressing him out more than he showed around so you wanted to make something nice for him so that he would ease his mind. So, with that plan on your mind, you started to shop for jewelry and clothes. You made small talk here and there with the owners, happy that they were so kind to you. But when you turned back to meet with your best friend, you saw a group of teenagers whispering to each other and pointing at you.

"Did you know that she was dating a... I don't even know how to call it!"

"Her? Like 'the most wife material' girl of the town?"

"I heard that he wasn't acting like a boy. Like wearing jewels and such y'know?"

"Does he even deserve her? She needs a real man!"

"Like who? You?"

At your venomous words, all of the boys and girls looked at you like a scared cat. The fire burning in your eyes made it clear that either they ran away, or they got beaten.

And they chose the first option, making you glare at their backs. Now it was clear... They heard what others talked about them. Made them insecure of their happy relationship. Made him guilty for simply who they wanted to be...

They were gonna pay...for making your sunshine fade to black.

"Mirabel! I believe I know what's wrong with Camilo!"

You hurriedly collected all you have bought and ran to her, already preparing a list to make him feel appreciated.

>Step 1: Compliment and show them you care

When you saw Casita and it happily waved at you with its windows, you made the same in return. You saw Antonio and Pepa in front of the house chatting happily and went to them. As soon as Pepa saw you, whole place erupted in sunshines and a little rainbow appeared above her head.

"Mi Nuera! Welcome back!"

"Hello... Mamí!"

Even though calling her mom, as much as it was a bit uncomfortable at the beginning since you didn't think she wanted to be called like that by you, was a little strange( considering the woman looked way young...) it made you feel... accepted.

"Big sis, big sis! What did you buy today!!"

You smiled widely at Antonio's question and brough the plushie you bought for him. Trying to get that one from the seller was a hard work since you literally had to play a game with a kid to win that toy but seeing the happy glint in his eyes made it worth so much.

He hugged you thightly and ran inside to show it to his sister and animal friends, leaving you and Pepa alone. When you turned your face to her and saw the look she was giving you, you understood it: the face that begged you to bring her cheerful son back. She also knew something was wrong, she was his mother, of courseshe knew!

When a little gray cloud started to appear, you went to her and held her arm softly, reassuring that you have everything in control.

The dinner time came and when you saw Camilo coming down, the grin you gave him was such a cute sight that Pepa held her chest lovingly with heart eyes meanwhile Isabela and Mirabel was chuckling. You immediately went to him and grabbed his hand, kissing his cheek, you went to your side of the table and before sitting down you held his chair for him, making him cock an eyebrow at you. You just wiggled at where you were standing, pushing the chair towards the table.

"What? Can I not be nice for my lover?"

"Yeah... but..."

"No buts! Now come on, let's eat together!"

And Dolares almost went deaf because of how hard her sibling's heart was beating, as she said later.

>Step 2: Appreciate and show them that they are a priority

If there was one thing you adored about Camilo, it was their curls. You loved how fluffy it was, the way it falls on his forehead even if you brushed it aside.

Currently, Camilo was laying on you inside of his room comfortably, kissing your neck time to time and tickling your sides to get a giggle out of you.

"Hey, what made you so energetic hmm?

You sighed while relaxing back on the bed even more with him snuggling you. You tried to wiggle but it was in no vail. Camilo started to pout at you and jabbed your cheek with his finger.

"Is my love too much for you~? Mi Amor, you're breaking my fragile heart!"

You snorted at his antics and hugged him to yourself, turning him over so that you were on top of him to kiss him easily. He looked at you with so much love and adoration in their eyes and you couldn't help but wonder how he has so much love to give but nonetheless, you returned the sweet gesture and smooched his cheek. He grinned sheepishly at you but in just a second, his mouth formed an "o" which meant that he hesitated to say what's in his mind but gave up. You weren't having that though.

"Amor, is there something you'd like to say?"

In return, he rised on his hands and rested his back against the wall. You sat in front of him cross-legged and tilted your head to the side with a little smile, waiting for him to talk when he was ready.

"I-uhm... I was thinking... whatever, it's not important."

You knitted your eyebrows together after hearing him dismiss his thoughts... again. So you sighed and looked at the town that became your home. People were still walking around and the orange and red hues of fhe sun made Encanto look even more magical than it already was. Taking your far away look and sigh as a bad thing, Camilo was about to talk again but you turned to him, took his cheek inside your palm and kissed their nose. The flabbergasted look on his cute face made you giggle and while you were fixing his shirt, you suddenly lifted your head and looked at his eyes.

" Don't hesitate to talk to me, Mi Sol. I always care what you need to say. We are together in this so... wanna tell me what you wanted to say?"

And just like that, with 4 sentences and 1 nickname, he spilled everything to you. How he wanted to meet your family, then playing with the kids of the town and everything he wanted to do with an excited grin.

And all you could do was smile like an idiot at your lover and sigh dreamily.

Like an idiot in love...

>Step 3: Don't give up easily on them

While showing him that you cared for them was not an easy job, you didn't expect the things to go down in absolutely every possible way.

And arguing with your lover was definetly not on your list.

"Camilo, dear, please calm down. You will have a panick attack if you-"

"I'm not a baby, I don't need you to tell me what to do!!"

At his loud and ringing voice, you flinched a bit. Not because you were afraid, but more because your ears rang quite a lot. I can't imagine how Dolares feels right now...

You were also trying to calm him down since you two started to argue almost in front of the Casita and you were certain that everyone else could hear you both.

But that was the time when he finally bursted, all of this becoming too much for him to hold in.

Angry tears were falling down his beautiful sunburnt skin, and he was wiping them harshly, not wanting to be seen weak since he already was to you. At least, that was what he thought.

"Why are you even with me!? Are you pitying me, or maybe you just don't know how to break up, right? That must be the reason! Everybody else could be so much better for you and here I am... an absolute trash-!"

" Camilo Madrigal!"

When you shouted his name loudly, he finally seemed like he came to his senses. He looked around almost dumbly and he turned to you with wide eyes.

Seeing the worried look on your face even though he just screamed at you made him fall to his knees and cry out all of his pain.

Witnessing the love of your life break in front of you made you also cry silently and you took a run towards him, to hug him as tight as you could and never let go of him.

When you got close to him, you fell on your knees too and took him between your arms delicately, as if he was a delicate flower.

"W-why..? Why are you still here? How do you know you love... me? When I don't even know myself...? When I broke my p-promise to cherish you..?"

You shushed him gently and rubbed his back slowly in a comforting manner, caressing his curls and twirling them between your fingers.

"I’m not angry at you, mi alma. Because I know you. The one who helps everyone, the one that brightens my day, the one I'm willing to sneak out my home for, the one who makes silly jokes to me to make me laugh..."

"It's okay to not know who you are for now. I'll always be there and never leave you alone. You are my everything and I promise when you find yourself, I'll be right beside you, holding your hand in mine tightly..."

Yeah, safe to say, it was a very tearful day for everyone.

For Pepa and Felix, hearing their child in so much pain...

For Dolares, hearing her sibling beg to his lover to stay with him...

For Antonio, knowing his sibling just needs someone to be there...

For the rest of the family, realizing that even the most cheerful ones can break...

And for you, who was willing to do anything to get your bright lover back... even if it meant waiting and trying for many years...

You promised to be there no matter what, after all.

>Step 4: Be Proud of Them

And it had been a good amount of months since Camilo told everyone how they felt. And the family was supportive of course, how could they not be? Family always sticks together after all!

And right now, you were styling Camilo's hair back in a low ponytail, a part of their hair falling in front of their face. When you finished it, you hummed in victory and grabbed the mirror beside you and handed it to them. He kissed the inside of your wrist before taking the mirror, making you blush.

He looked at the image in front of him for several minutes and just when you thought he didn't like it, he turned back and tackled you to the ground while laughing like a little child.

"I love it! You should be a hairdresser y'know? Gotta show everyone how an amazing girlfriend I have!"

"Wait! We need to get a picture together like that to remember later in life! Like the first step of your adventure of finding who you trully are!"

They nodded their head immediately and ran inside to take the camera and came back seconds later. Before you could find a perfect position, Pepa came and took the camera from Camilo, saying that she will do it.

Without any objection, he gave the camera to their mother and took your hands in theirs, looking at your eyes with amazement and so much love.

And the only thing Pepa could do was taking the photo while having slight tears in her eyes, seeing the look on her child's face, seeing what was spoken between each lover and knowing that they finally found the right one for themselves.

His eyes are beautiful.

Her hair is flawless.

Their personality is amazing.

Her laugh brightens up my day.

We are in this... together.

And I'm proud of them... always.

warning: some of this fic can be triggering. It features abuse from Sonia in the form of Munchausen by Proxy and physical abuse. Some of this is both taken from canon as well as the TV show and real life events of ‘The Act’

Carefully, so as not to make a single noise, Eddie opened his laptop and pulled up the private chat he had saved. He smiled, tucking some of the hair behind his ear as he noticed that Richie was online, and he clicked on his name, bringing up their conversations. As soon as he messaged a simple, ‘Hi’, Richie was responding, asking him how he was and what he had been up to.

He looked up, making sure that his mother wasn’t going to barge through the door and find him doing what she had strictly forbidden him from doing his whole life. He had no idea what she might do to him if he was caught talking to Richie in the way he was.

When he was absolutely sure that the ghost was clear, Eddie pressed the call button and the call connected, the screen lighting up with Richie’s face. He was smiling at first, until he saw the state of Eddie’s face and it dropped into a serious frown. In the little screen that showed Eddie’s face, highlighted the dark circles under his eyes as well as the bruising on his cheeks and his chin.

“Holy, holy fuck Eds what...what happened? What did she do to you?” Richie asked in a hushed tone, his hand reaching out as if to touch Eddie, restricted by the computer.

Eddie held back a sob, too scared that any sudden noise might wake his mother up from her sleep and have her barge into the room. “She-she tried to make me take these new pills and I- I told her no,” he explained shakily. “She got so mad that I was talking back to her that she...snapped.”

“Yes, there is,” Richie breathed, also keeping his voice soft so as not to cause too much noise. “Listen to me okay, I’m going to come and get you. You stay right where you are and I promise you I’ll be there as soon as I can.” The look on Richie’s face was one of pure determination, and Eddie felt nothing but love soar in his chest for the man in front of him. Ever since they had met on the chat room app four years ago, Eddie had just known that they had something special.

It had taken him a while to tell Richie the truth of what was going on in his life with his mother. When they first started talking, he had told Richie about all of his illnesses; his asthma, his numerous allergies, his inability to eat properly and hence being fed through a tube. The thing was, none of that was true. Eddie wasn’t sick, in fact, he was probably healthier than Richie. His mother...she was the one who was sick, but she just couldn’t see it.

“How?” Eddie asked, his voice cracking just a little. “How- how are we going to get away from her?” His voice was so quiet now, his heart hammering in his chest. He would have to hang up soon and put the breathing mask back on before his mother wondered why she couldn’t hear it from her room. “She’d just...call the police.”

Richie shook his head, “You’re twenty-two, you said so yourself. She can’t keep you trapped there. If you leave, she has no legal ground to stand on as you are an adult and can make decisions for yourself. You don’t even have to stay with me. I’ll get you out and you’ll be free to go anywhere and do anything you want. The world is your oyster.”

“I- I love you,” Eddie whispered, wiping his nose. “I want to stay with you...and your friends because I love you. We- we deserve a chance to be a real couple, don’t you think?” He asked and Richie nodded his head. “I- I have to go, before she wakes up and gets suspicious.”

Eddie could see that it pained Richie to have to hang up, but he agreed with a nod and a promise to be there for him soon, in the next few days. They would keep in contact via text message until Richie was ready to come to his house. They would have to plan it right out to the very second or things could go very wrong. He couldn’t have anything go wrong, not when Richie was going to be so close to his home, so close to his mother.

They disconnected the call and once the laptop was carefully stowed away, Eddie crawled into bed, pulling the oxygen mask over his head and switching the machine on. It took him a while to actually fall asleep, and when he did it was restless and uncomfortable. The following morning, he was woken up by his mother shaking him awake.

“Ma?” He croaked, opening his eyes as he looked at her. It was clear she was still mad, and in her hand was the bottle of pills she had tried to give him the night before.

She uncapped the bottle and poured the pills onto her hand, “I hope you learned your lesson last night Eddie-Bear. I don’t want to have to do that to you again. Are you going to be your mama’s good boy?” She asked and slowly, with tears building up in his eyes, nodded his head.

Instead of putting them in via the tube, it was like she knew that he knew he was perfectly fine using his mouth. His mother pried his jaw apart and popped two of the large pills under his tongue before holding his jaw shut to make sure that he swallowed them. Eddie didn’t even have a clue what they were for, but he didn’t dare ask.

“I am only doing this to protect you. You need me Eddie-Bear. You need me to take care of you. Out in that world you’d be ripped apart. People are like wolves, and they wouldn’t take a second glance at you before tearing you to pieces.” Slowly, she ran her fingers through Eddie’s hair. “Not here though, not with me. I’ll keep you safe, always. You’re always going to be safe with me. My little Eddie-Bear.”

His mother remained there with him for a few more moments before she left the room to allow him to change. Sometimes, she would insist that she changes him, insist that he was too fragile to keep himself clean. She closed the door behind him and burst into tears, pulling his phone out to text Richie.

first of all,

story time!

your uni is fucking expensive and it’s more expensive if you live in the grounds

so you being the wise human,

you went to get an apartment near the campus

it was great and all since roommate!jaemin was paying for his stuff

you were both living respectively until he had to leave

the dumbass didnt even bother to tell you

one morning you just woke up and found his note

‘hey bitch! figured you were too much of a rock to wake up but i moved out! the family wants me to go back home and tend the restaurant’

the whole day yesterday, you were working

and you just walked in half asleep towards your room and fell asleep

so you didnt really see or notice

but were you freaking out bc your roommate suddenly moved out?

not only was your roommate gone,

how were you going to find a new one?!

jaemin expected your phone call that afternoon and he endured through all your screaming

sitting on your couch alone

without jaemin, your apartment felt really empty

its been a few days since he moved and you were miserable

jaemin hasn’t even texted you about that potential roommate

your doorbell rang

you froze and you looked at the time

it was nearing 11 at night and you don’t remember ordering delivery

you grabbed a pan from the cupboard and gulped before you opened the door

thinking he would just walk forward and grab you, you closed your eyes and raised your pan over your head and swung

a shriek from in front of you made your eyes snap open and found the guy on the floor with a fetal position

you both just froze for like a phat minute

snapping back to reality, you held the pan in front of you

you tried to sound intimidating but your voice was shaking so much

the guy stood up and he took off his hat and the mask to reveal a blonde haired kid

so, jeno is a vv clean guy

like he’s the type to just pick up a wrapper in the street and throw it in the garbage

so naturally, he likes to keep the apartment as tidy and neat as possible

he also makes the coffee every morning since he works early and wakes up first

when you got to bed after showing jeno around,

When you first tell him everything, he’s furious. He just wants to take a bat to everyone who’s said such disgusting things to you and especially to the woman who violated you. He can’t even comprehend how your own mother could say such a awful thing. He wants to scream and fight and...just hold you. He pulls you into the tightest hug he can ever muster and gently strokes your head. He’s trying so hard not to cry into your shoulder, he wants to stay strong, he wants to remain strong for you.

Soldier-

Why? Why would someone do something as awful as that? No matter how many times you try to tell him or explain to him, he’s never going to fully comprehend it. Why would those people say that? Why did your mother even think about saying that? Why did the universe allow such a terrible thing to happen to someone as good as you? So many questions are flooding his mind that he almost forgets you’re there. If you snap him out of his catatonic state, he’ll put a hand on your cheek and stare at you with wide almost tearful eyes.

“You’re a tough one, soldier. Tougher than me even. God throws all kinds of crap your way and you just tear through it all. Thank you...for telling me, soldier.”

Pyro-

Their hand is holding yours the entire time you tell them. They don’t say a thing the whole time. They don’t even react much besides an occasional squeeze when you get into the more grisly parts of the story. People assume they know nothing of the world’s cruelty and humanity's savagery, but they know all too well what people are capable of. They guess that’s why they want to burn it all down. They just want to burn down the entire world so it’s just the two of you. No pain, no suffering, just you. They pull their mask up to their nose, tears running down their scarred cheeks, they can barely hold back their sobs.

“I’m so sorry...Y/N...I’m so sorry I wasn’t there to protect you! I’m so sorry, I-I’m so sorry...please...I wish I was there for y-you..!”

Demo-

He’ll offer you some of his booze, it help eases the pain for him, so maybe it might do the same for you. He’s gonna drink the entire time you tell and occasionally give you a sad glance. He’s angry of course but there’s nothing he can really do. Terrible things just happen and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. It happened and it’s all in the past now. The only thing left to do is try to move on and heal. Don’t let the experience break you. Grow from it and only become a stronger person. He wraps an arm around you and pulls you close to his side.

“Listen, luv, I know you’re hurting and all but you can’t let this break your spirits. Keep being the beautiful person I know you are and grow from this. Just uh...don’t develop a drinking habit like me.”

Heavy-

He’s no stranger to rape and sexual assault. He’s seen it happen many times in the Gulag. And all those times he witnessed it, a part of him died. So it feels like his heart has been ripped out of his chest when you tell what happened to you. He’s angry at the fact that you were attacked, but he’s even angrier that your own flesh and blood would say that to your face. Family is supposed to support and comfort each other! Not brush off such a traumatic experience. He lets you lay your head on his shoulder and he gently strokes your waist.

“Anyone try to hurt you again, man or woman, will be crushed by me. I refuse to let you be hurt by anyone ever again.”

Engineer-

People like to believe that good people do exist and that good will always prevail over evil. That justice will always be served and every tragedy will be resolved with love and compassion. Engie liked to think this way. But it’s when he hears a story like yours that he feels like giving into the apathy of humanity. He won’t though. He can’t. Cause he still has you to care for. He has to be there to remind you that you are heard and loved. He wants you to know that he’ll always be there to listen. You’re sitting in his lap and he has you wrapped up in a hug, gently rocking you back and forth.

“I’m so sorry, darling. I’m so sorry you have to deal with any of this...I’m here though, hun, I’m here for you. You don’t have to do this alone anymore.”

Medic-

Just like Heavy, Medic has witnessed many atrocities during his time in Nazi Germany. Things like assault become such a common occurrence that it no longer had any affect on him. It had just become a way of life.

However, his apathy didn’t prevent his heart from shattering when he heard what happened to you. He understood that bad things just happen sometimes but what he couldn’t understand is how cold your mother could be...weren’t they meant to be loving and comforting? Medic leaned down and gave you a long heartfelt kiss.

“People like your mother aren’t worth your time, liebling, they are but simple minded idiots. What matters now is that you’re safe here with me and Archimedes.”

Sniper-

He’s at a loss. He doesn’t know what to say or even do for you. Nobody’s ever told him something this personal and...real. He never imagined that someone he loved so dearly would have to go through something so traumatic. He feels slightly sick when you vaguely allude to what happened to you, he feels even sicker when you explain the dismissal you’ve had to deal with. He knew there were some bad people out there but why was your mother one of them? Why couldn’t she just believe you and comfort you like a real mother would? He shakily pulls you to his chest and holds you close.

“It’s...it’s alright. Y/N...I’m so sorry for everything...I...I just...I love you, roo, you know that? I’m always gonna love you and hold you close by me...”

Spy-

What you tell him angers him to no end but he manages to hide it behind a stoney expression and a lit cigarette. The notion that women can’t assault others or it’s not as severe as a male doing it sickens and angers him to no end. When will people understand that anyone of any gender is capable of hurting another being so severely. He’s not a good father by any means but what your mother is utterly revolting. He’s no good with emotionally charged situations, but he knows he can’t leave you now. He holds your head to his chest and rests his chin on top of your head, his hand stroking down your back.

“I’ll always be there for you, mon trésor. Nothing and nobody will ever come close to you as long as I’m here with you.”

Miss Pauling-

She understands and empathizes with you. She’s met a few women who’ve tried to take advantage and she was met with the same dismissive comments. It seems like everyone cares about the victim until they learn the attacker was a woman. Then it’s just jeers and doubt from all those supporters. Just hearing you recount everything fills her with a rage she hasn’t felt in a very long time. All that murderous rage directed right at your rapist and mother. But she isn’t planning on murdering anybody until she gets the okay from you. Pauling wraps her arms around your waist and kisses your cheek.

“I know what it’s like. It almost happened to me one time but...I’m just glad you’re okay for the most part. And hey, if she or your mom come sniffing around here, can we bury them with these corpses here?”

here’s some journal entries of roy endoza that i wrote for the duration of the campaign. for the most part, i kinda wrote these in my twitter drafts just to write down roy’s thoughts. sometimes to remember events that happened, and sometimes just to vent out roy’s feelings to myself. i ended up saving these on a document for safe keeping and i’m glad i wrote these.

I’m travelling with people who are down with murder. i should seperate. she uncovered my posters to them and i want to die. she also mentioned the last key at a ball. i need to bounce. lathandar also confirmed my suspicions last night. entry 116 fox left before i could. i feel bad. like maybe it was my fault. i miss him. we have to continue though. entry 117 its so hard to find a bag of holding. i just want to have this spirit stone around without having it in the open. entry 118 we’re in origin now and delilah let me rent out her bag of holding. an absolute kind soul. we bought tickets to the ball. so expensive. i wish i didnt do that. entry 123 i’ve done so much in preperation of whats to come. confirmed. miss winters is alive. she captured my biological father. a strange way to meet him. i cant see him as my father. i told her about the key, and we’re going to rearrange our circle. we’ll still use the spirit stones, just as a backup. i’m scared. i’m terrified. i dont know if it will work and i dont know what will happen if it does. i know the gods will be mad but i’ll deal with the consequences when it happens. i’m sure i won’t be a champion anymore. we’re doing this on friday evening, which means i’m no longer attending the gala. they don’t need my assistance anyway.

Deep In the Forest

~Word Count: 1,517

~Written: April 19, 2018

~Theme: Bangtan as Guardian Spirits

They say if one goes deep enough into the Bangtan Forest, he would either come out stronger, insane, or never return at all. Bangtan Forest had many a haunting story surrounding it, but no one knew anything for sure. Over the years, people lost interest in the ghost stories and stopped visiting the forest. The stories were passed off as folk lore or exaggerations. However, no one knew just how much truth the 'folk lores' held.

Deep in the heart of the forest, there reside the seven forest guardian spirits. They're sole job, to keep the forest alive and the strangers out.

"Ugggghhhhhhh." A low growl escaped from the mouth of what appeared to be a young man lounging in one of the many trees of the forest. His already tussled blue tresses lost all semblance of uniformity as he mussed his hair in frustration. From a distance, he looked moderately normal in his black hoodie and ripped jeans. But upon closer inspection, one would be unable to deny the eerie air that hovered around the boy. His eyes were too unnaturally emerald and his skin had an inhumane almost green glow to it under the pale skin tone.

"I'm so boooored." He groaned again, slumping farther down in his tree. This boy's name was Yoongi, or better known by the humans, Suga, and he was anything but human. He was the guardian of the trees of Bangtan Forest.

He glared at nothing for a while, looking every bit the seething diety he liked to portray before once again letting out a huff. He rolled off from his high branch, ignoring the branches that instinctively reached out to catch their master. He passed them all and landed on the forest floor with cat like elegance.

His brothers, fellow forest and animal spirits, weren't coming back for a while. Which meant being completelt alone with naught but the wild life and treesfor company. Yoongi lover the trees, but they hardly qualified as good conversation partners. They were satisfied to just let the breeze pass around them and watch the sky. Though Yoongi often acted stoic and fine being alone, he did need intelligent interaction eventually. So, unable to handle the stagnant boredom anymore, he went off on a walk.

Yoongi knew this forest well. After all, he had spent nigh on a century here. Never leaving. He was tethered here. This specific forest, this specific body, and this specific age. He'd tried many times in his endless days of routine to change things up. For the first years, he just explored evey inch of the forest. That had been the most exciting time of his life. New nooks and crannys and trees and animals and anything else he happened upon were enthralling. But as the years passed, they became novelties. He knew this forest like the back of his hand now and no new species had graced the forest in far too long. Some of the guardians could leave, but unlike his brothers, he was unable to change form or even leave the border of the forest. Jimin, Jungkook, Taehyung, and Namjoon could leave as they pleased for the day as long as they were back by night. However, Hoeseok, Yoongi, and Seokjin were stuck in the blasted forest, never able to leave. To say Yoongi was sick and tired of it would be an understatement.

"Hoseok-aaaahhhh! Where are you?!" He whined loudly to nothing in particular. Hoseok was a fellow plant spirit, specializing in more the flower realm. Whereas Yoongi was more in the trees, so he would get the message that the bored tree spirit was looking for him sooner or later. Preferably sooner before Yoongi went crazy and started terrorizing the wildlife. Jimin always got upset when he did that, being an animal spirit meant sympathizing with his fellow creatures. Especially when Yoongi messed with the deer.

Yoongi wandered a little farther down the trail, worn down by years of animal feet trompimg through and bored guardian spirits. Nature chirped all around him and the occasional animal passed by or curiously sniffed at him before they too continued on their way. However, he wasn't listening to the creatures. Rather, Yoongi was focusing on the whispers coming from the trees. Trees were his only connection to the outside world. The flowers were gossipers, so usually he had to get interesting stories from Hoseok. Where as the trees were practical. They relayed what they heard, never bothering with drama or over exaggeration. Most the time they only talked about the weather coming or anything threatening.

Something had stirred them up today. They all seemed agitated, their whispers too numerous and frustrated to make total sense to Yoongi. He furrowed his brow in confusion as he tried to concentrate on a specific birch tree as he gently laid a hand on the white bark.

'Stranger! Stranger in our woods. We dont like it. We dont like it' the old birch seethed beside Yoongi. His eyes widened in surprise. Stranger? There hadn't been one of those in years!

He let go of the tree and started down the path again. With his pace picking up, Yoongi did his best to follow the direction of the most agitated trees. The ones who were actully near the stranger would probably be the most upset.

Soon the whispers became a roar when Yoongi broke through the tree line and emerged into a small meadow.

He froze.

There. There was something he had not seen in over a decade. A human.

The human's eyes snapped up to Yoongi. Terror and confusion were evident on the stranger's face, but so was something else. Yoongi tilted his head as he zeroed in on the features of this new creature. Shaggy brown hair was tangled and peppered with folliage. Clothes that looked a little too large hung on it's the thin frame. Big, brown, innocent eyes took in Yoongi with just as much scrutiny as it's brows furrowed. The skin around one of its eyes was purplish in color and a scratch on its cheek marred the otherwise smooth skin. What strange markings. Why would a human find those attractive? It took a moment for Yoongi to remember that humans had specific genders. Trees didnt. Sure the other animals did, but he hardly cared about them. They were nuisances that hurt his trees.

The stranger was female and young. Yoongi guessed she was on the tail end of adolescence, but the way she looked now one might not be able to tell. She looked like a lost child.

"Wh-who're you?" She stuttered out, bringing her arms up around herself.

Yoongi debated taking the powerful diety route or the kind protector. Obviously powerful god was always more fun. "Suga, the guardian of these woods. And who are you to come into my woods without permission?"

The female cowered back, practically tripping as she retreated. "I-Im sorry. I was just trying to get away and then i got lost. I-if you give me directions out I'll leave right away." She negotiated.

Yoongi snorted. He had been too long by himself with only his brothers for company. He wasnt letting a visitor go that easily.

"Its too late for that, dont you think? You're in my territory now. Why would I let you go?" He scoffed, raising a brow. Hed forgotten what it felt like to lord over humans. It was a powerful feeling. He had missed it.

The female visibly took a deep breathe before lifting her chin in a vain attempt at confidence. "Because youre a benevolent spirit."

The statement came out more of a question, her voice quivering the whole time despite her efforts. Yoongi couldn't help the grin pulling at his lips. She was interesting. He liked her.

"Hmmm. You ma-"

Suddenly someone, or more like someones came tumbling through the foliage, cutting off the tree spirit.

"I got your message! I brought Jimin and Taehyung too." A familiar, jovial voice exclaimed as Hoseok stood up. His bright orange hair was tousled with flowers and plants stuck between the tresses. He wore much brighter clothing than his tree spirited friend. At their feet an oddly colored, gangly buck and fox were scrambling to their feet. The silver deer morphed into Jimin who was rubbing the skin around the small set of antlers protuding from his mop of silver hair.

"Ow! You landed on my antler again. Tae tae." He whined. The blonde fox morphed to reveal Taehyung smiling widely, his tail flickering back and forth as he sat crossed legged in front of his friend.

"Sorry." He apologized, looking anything but.

Yoongi wanted to hit them all. They had ruined his moment to intimidate a new stranger. These three were anything but scary. Namjoon, jungkook, or even Jin would have been better. But no. Instead the cute ones came, wearing over sized sweaters and blue jeans that enhanced the cute facad.

"Youre all insufferable." He growled to them, turning back to the female. He needed to try and save some face.

But she was gone.

Chapter Eighteen: Stargazer

When retaining my memories, I thought a lot about my childhood, specifically events involving Stefnir. He was nosy, way over protective and followed me every where, even when he thought I wouldn't notice. I realized my plan was going to be a lot more difficult with him up my butt. When I dressed myself, after a hardened order for Stefnir to leave me alone, I exited my cabin and entered the deck once again. I smiled lightly upon seeing CHarlie and started over, only to be stopped by the one and only douche-canoe.

"I would like a moment alone with you, my lady," Stefnir requested softly. "I only wish to discuss some private matters with you," he added, probably having seen my look of blatant distrust. "Fine," I finally permitted, moving off into a different part of the deck with him. "What is it?" "It's about you needing a spouse," he answered upon deeming them solitary enough. "A spouse?" I repeated, quirking an unamused and disbelieving eyebrow. "Yes. I wanted to be the one to tell you before we had arrived and well... your mother is very ill," he sighed softly, glancing out at the ocean. My heart stopped Ill? No. She can't be ill. I just got her back. "What... what do you mean by ill?" I murmured so slowly I wasnt sure he'd understood me. "That's why I've been searching for you, my princess. I mean we've all been searching for you, however--" "What do you mean 'we'?" I interrupted quickly, wringing the hem of my shirt. "The Royal Guard, of course, my dear. Especially Fortem--" "Fortem? He was... son o the Head Guard, no?" I murmured, recalling a fuzzy memory of playing swords with him. He was the one to teach me to fight. "Indeed. He is now Head Guard himself," Stefnir informed me. "Continuing on, your mother thinks very highly of him and would very much like you to marry him." "I haven't seen him since we were children. You can't seriously expect me to make a decision so soon," I snorted, crossing my arms over my chest defiantly. “ Your mother could use some ease of mind before she passes," Stefnir responded softly. That made me unfold my arms I hesitated, gaze falling to the floor in an attempt not to let him see my tears. What could I do? I didn't even know what condition my mother was in. I feared her too frail to hear the news about Charlie and myself and I only let out a shaky sigh. What if I never obtained her approval before she died? What if she hated me eternally for bringing shame to our family by marrying a human, let alone a wizard? No. I couldn't think like that. I haven't seen her in over three centuries. I only remembered he being the definition of love; I had to hold onto that or I would lose it. "We will... see what happens," I mumbled quietly after clearing my throat. "Is that all?" "No. I don't think Charlie should accompany us," he admitted, jaw rigid. "And why's that?" I sighed, tired of him already. "He's a human, Aurora. Not only that, he's a wizard. Need I remind you those are the very people who kidnapped you in the first place?" "He's also the one who saved me-- Hold on... how... How did you know about them?" I inquired slowly, narrowing my eyes at him. "It... was merely an educational guess, my princess," he said quickly, straightening his shirt. "Now if I may be excused, I must make sure the preparations for our departure have been finalized." With that, he went off in a huff. I watched him go, before hurrying off to find Charlie. Once found, I explained to him what Stefnir had said. "How could he have known they were wizards? I mean, he sounded absolutely sure," I grumbled, glancing over to see Stefnir angrily dealing with a crew member. "Rory... Sweetie..." Charlie murmured, softly taking my hands in his own. "I'm so sorry." I returned my gaze to meet his, green eyes filling with tears. I sucked in a breath at first, not realizing why he was so sad, but then it hit me. Hard. My mother was sick. I squeezed his hands more tightly that I had intended, shaking now. I knew how much family meant to Charlie and I felt my own eyes watering. I had no idea how much time my mother had. "We need to leave immediately," I declared, lightly sniffing. "Is that a good idea wit your hand, Aurora?" Charlie asked, gently lifting my hands to inspect it. "I need to do this, Charlie. I can't take the chance of missing her," I murmured softly, taking my hand back. Charlie watched me for a solid minute before nodding. "You have my word that we will meet your mother, Aurora," he promised, offering a grin. "Go transform and I'll get everything ready," he reassured, ruffling my hair. I suddenly had the strong urge to kiss him, however resisted due to Stefnir watching us with an annoying intensity that was hard not to notice. Instead, I watched Charlie leave and head over to speak with his mother and Sirius, as well as the captain. They all seemed surprised and concerned, though didn't make a move to prevent me from transforming, so I did. I shook my wings out and sat down, moving my gaze towards Stefnir, who was running over to me. Not that he needed to go far. "Princess?! What are you doing?! Your hand!" he exclaimed. "We're leaving as soon as possible, so you should get ready, too, Stefnir," I answered calmly. "And my hand is fine." He seemed unsure an even more annoyed at that point, but gave a stiff nod. "As you wish, my princess," he responded, giving a low bow and taking a few steps back. "I will transform just before take off." I merely nodded and looked back over to where the crew were now helping to prepare for our departure. Really all that needed to be done was finish packing and make sure Charlie was dressed very warmly. It was fairly amusing watching Charlie pull on all kinds of clothing. I laid down so I could rest my head on my forepaws in order to watch them a little more easily. However I had to sit up again so they could reattach the saddle and Charlie's luggage. I growled at the crew member who touched my belly by accident and I thought he might have peed himself if Charlie didn't put a hand on his shoulder. "Now, now, Rory. No eating the crew," Charlie teased. I just playfully rolled my eyes in response and lightly prodded Charlie's back with the tip of my tail. He chuckled lightly and at my side. "Looks like everything is packed and ready to go," Charlie commented, then turned to Molly, who seemed nervous. "Are you sure you're ready?" she required, putting a hand on my forelegs. "Yes, Molly," I answered, lightly nudging her with my nose. "I'll be sure to bring your son there in one piece," I promised. "Oh, I know you will, dearie," she said softly, patting my cheek now. "It's this troublemaker I'm worried about." "Ma!" Charlie exclaimed. "It's true! The only child who hasn't been a trouble maker has been Percy and even then..." "Okay, okay, ma," Charlie grumbled, cheeks burning. "I'll make sure to keep him out of trouble, Molly," I chuckled quietly, nudging him as well, smiling happily. "Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence," he responded, climbing up into the saddle, yet again. "Stefnir! Are you ready?" "Of course," he answered, turning towards the side of the ship. With a running start, he jumped off the side and into the water. The crew scrambled to the edge, shouting and calling , trying to see where had had gone. As much as I didn't want to admit it, I was a tad concerned for all of half a minute, when I remembered what he was. Out of the water he burst, gold and black with silver dusting. The water rushed off of him, droplets clinging to his scales. It was really a marvelous sight, had one not known his true being. I scoffed at the show and turned to watch Molly take a breath of relief. "Molly..." "I know, dearie, I know," she sighed softly, shaking her head. "Do we fly or not?" Stefnir inquired impatiently, hovering above the water. "Yes, yes," I answered. "Charlie--" "I know, he murmured. "Mom, I promise to keep in touch, but we should really be leaving. "Okay, okay," she murmured. "I love you, Charlie, Rory. Now, off you go now. Be royalty and live your fancy life." "Molly..." You know I'll keep in touch as well," I chuckled softly. "I know, my dear." She lightly pat my arm one last time before I lifted off into the air. "Here we go," Charlie breathed. "Here we go," I repeated.
