As a kid, I used to be terrified that I’d be the reason my parents got divorced. As an adult, I’m kinda tempted to be the reason by whispering to my mom “you should leave him” any chance I get

Some people say 'I love Steve' but the way they talk about him is just? My dude, you don't even know him.
"I love Steve!" They say, and then say things like they're fact about a man who is not even Steve that they made up in their heads lmao. Pure Clownery. Sometimes those things are mean and sometimes they just don't make sense.
Like Steve as a blushing and delicate nervous flower?? He is confident and charming and goofy! Yeah he's sweet but not docile. Who is this man they're talking about. What is happening there. Let him be suave.
Steve as an unrepentant bully? He was homophobic to Jon and insulted his family and then got his ass beat and realized oh no I shouldn't have done or said all that it was really bad and went to fix it and apologize? He mostly ignored people, didn't realize they existed (like Robin said) Maybe he and or Tommy/Carol spread a rumour or two, but I highly doubt they ruined anyone's life. Literally just a rich mean girl kinda guy who could make a bitchy remark and barely registered anyone not on his radar. Annoying and a jerk, but not horrible. Being popular requires people to like you, remember.
Being a doormat who never complains? Please. Steve complains all the time. He makes muttered remarks about things the kids do or say. He rolls his eyes like it's going out of style. He says no! He kvetches with the best of them (Robin)! He cares and helps but my god he's not doing it quietly.
Who is this man why is he so different from the Steve I know and love?

i been in fandoms for 10+ years and while disliking characters of color doesn’t automatically make you racist, fandom IS notoriously racist and white dominated no matter how you feel, so yea im going to assume bigotry, remember racism can show its ugly head subconsciously too

very weird to frame your abuse apologia as being aware that the writers intended to illustrate a mutually harmful dynamic and not an abusive one. when the writers in question also wrote the line 'once you put it out there, they [the audience] decide what it is' because nothing you ever create has any innate definition. when the writers in question decided to racebend major characters and then showcase them being harmed by white or nonblack characters in a repeatedly racialized pattern when they Did Not Have To Do That and then genuinely or disingenuously decide to dialogue about their directly or indirectly illustrated racialized dynamic of intimate partner violence within and outside the narrative. like to be quite honest it does not matter what they intended because this is what they made and this is how it Looks to a notably large amount of people. who just happen to be interpreting it wrong? according to what metric? the very metric they say Doesn't Work in their own fictional creation? ok

i dont get hpw people can make jokes about biden being shitty right now, when its nearly guaranteed that its either him or trump who will be president.... and trump becomimg president again is just.... horrifying? like legitimately really fucking scary????? im terrified thinking about biden not doing well, not because i like biden (i do not) but because the other option is basically. a nuclear bomb.
its all fun and games until we have no one who can get enough votes or power to go up against trumps corruption. and im so fucking afraid of how we'll joke ourselves right into our graves

I feel like I never see people talk about how scary chasers are. The pure dread I feel when I see hordes of people lust over their atomized perception of what trans women are. The jokes that reduce us to mere tropes, an exotic off-shoot of real girls. It horrifies me how little agency I have in how strangers talk about me and people like me. There are some chasers that really want to be perceived as allies to trans women, and I've tried reasoning with those people. It's like I'm a ghost. I am not actively in that moment an object of their desire, so I do not exist in their world.

Today a Radfem told a bunch of people that they were trans "inclusive" but then ended up misgendering a trans person 3 times in a row because they pissed them off.
After that i came across their post being very terfy, excluding nonbinary people and saying they weren't trans, saying you need dysphoria to be trans (u dont lol), saying he/him lesbians aren't valid and so much more shit
And just to put the icing on the cake, they are a cis woman. If you don't experience the oppression that comes with being trans + never been trans in the first place, your opinion is invalid.
Also he/him lesbians existed waaaaay longer than chronically online tiktok lesbians, its literally part of lesbian history. lmao.
radfems arent safe, they arent inclusive towards trans people and they sure dont give a fuck about lesbians either. They are dirt, thats what all radfems are. All of them are terfs or spread terf rethoric in some way or another.

i promise to make a briensa graphic and at least one (1) more pride graphic this month for discoursing so much omg that’s my penance BUT i had just ranted on twitter about how i think it’s really weird the way people talk about matt smith, bc they don’t like his character or that he’s the sort of dude who will answer a question In Character (aka his unserious “aemond is a little pussy i’m gonna kick his ass” answers about the season in some promotional stuff), and think that like, idk it’s appropriate to be all on his socials or other official show socials to be like “MATT IS UGLY AND UNTALENTED” because like a) attraction is subjective b) i don’t think a single person who finds matt smith attractive can’t admit that he is kind of weird looking, even HE knows he’s got a weird eyebrow and chin situation going on, but i think it adds to his overall look! c) i think it’s fine to joke about actors looking weird privately but the moment you’re doing it in a place they may see OR you’re doing it in a way that feels like, idk mean and disingenuous is when i think it steps over the line.
like people going “oh matt is so annoying for complaining about not having scenes with emma this season, he can’t even match them he’s so untalented” like be serious, he’s a good actor, you just think he’s annoying! and that’s fine but stop saying that while quote dunking promotional videos from hbo?? why is that behavior okay but the world has to stop every time someone is mean about olivia cooke? why do we focus SO MUCH on the deranged people saying she should die when bethany, phoebe, fabien, emma, and paddy ALSO have gotten some INSANE DERANGED behavior directed towards them? can we simply acknowledge this whole fandom is incredibly rude and toxic to the point that i almost wish hbo would stop doing promos for the show bc an alarming amount of fans don’t know how to act and the actors shouldn’t be subjected to that crap??
AND THEN what do you know, hbo had to take down a promo video bc matt jokingly said he hates alicent because someone put x’s over his eyes and wrote “DIE MATT SMITH” over his face!!! SO CAN WE ADMIT. FINALLY. it’s not one specific group of fans being evil towards this cast it is coming from ALL CORNERS??

Fellas, can we stop qualifying raging bigots as "they're a great person, they just have different views I don't agree with"????
I get needing to maintain professional respect for the good of your organization but newsflash, this dude is not a good person. You could sidestep it with just the second part of that sentence -- "he has views I don't agree with (but we're both committed to our team)" or some noncommittal bullshit and move on. But defending the man as a salve to disagreeing with his bigotry is negating your point.
This wasn't just some offhand ignorant comment; the guy was unhinged and insulted just about every equity group out there other than hetero white men. Including trying to drag Travis' own partner into it and knowing exactly what he was doing when he did it.
This shit is infuriating and white men defending and excusing unacceptable behaviour of white men is just so fucking tiring.
