My husband did something yesterday that was written about in PC Gamer (among others) and I am just so proud! He's more of a BNF than I could ever aspire to be.
explanation: my husband has, with permission from Bungie and with a team of other fans of the game, ported a trilogy of games from the mid-90s to multiple platforms and helped keep it alive for its many fans for over two decades. That hard work culminated in the opportunity to spearhead posting the game(s) on Steam (with enthusiastic permission) so that more players can enjoy it.

three years ago
For Sunghoon Park, death was hardly a foreign concept. He committed his first murder around the age of eighteen, the victim being a fellow athlete from his ice skating team, Cha Jun-Hwan. The dynamic pair maintained a solid friendship since the day they met, up until Sunghoon’s sixteen-year-old half-sister, Wonyoung, blossomed into a beautiful young lady. She stopped wearing glasses and got her braces removed, but most importantly, she was confident in her own skin. “You’re more beautiful than any princess I’ve ever seen, Wonyo. Don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise,” Sunghoon would encourage her every day in front of her vanity mirror. “Thank you, Sunghoon-ah! You always know how to cheer me up” she’d smile, patting his head as she left for school.
Eventually, Wonyoung started dating Jun-Hwan behind Sunghoon’s back. Their secret relationship went on for about 3 months before Sunghoon caught them during a half-naked-make-out session in Wonyoung’s bedroom. She sat on the edge of her bed as if frozen, wearing black gym shorts and a pink bralette. Jun-Hwan was topless as well, with Wonyoung’s love bites decorating his bare chest. A mix of rage and disgust burned being Sunghoon's eyes. Grabbing a large pillow to cover her exposed figure, Jun-Hwan rambled on, “Sunghoon, I can explain! We meant to tell you sooner, but-“
“Get the fuck out of my house before I kill you,” Sunghoon threatened sharply, before an embarrassed Jun-Hwan ran out the door, leaving the Park siblings to figure things out.
Some time passed, and rumors about Wonyoung ran rampant throughout her high school, most of which being initiated by Jun-Hwan himself. An immeasurable pity birthed within Sunghoon whenever he’d hear the muffled sobs coming from his sister’s bedroom at night as she struggled to get any sleep. He wanted Jun-Hwan to pay for the pain he’d brought upon her.
The plan was simple, really.
Sunghoon made it look like a camping trip gone wrong, killing off four of his teammates including Jun-Hwan in the woods. He made it look like a vicious bear attack, which surprisingly fooled the police, leaving him scot-free.
Sunghoon went on to quit his dreams of becoming an Olympic champion, pursuing the academic route instead.
Though, Wonyoung’s torment was far from over.
A group of mean girls called her names like “piranha pussy” and “semen demon” after Jun-Hwan’s death, claiming that she supernaturally killed him during intimacy. Suffering from constant scrutiny at school and grieving the loss of her first boyfriend, despite all that he'd said about her, Wonyoung was driven to commit the unspeakable, and took her own life. Her body was buried soon after, with posts like “Gone too soon” and “fly high, princess ️🎀” pinned on everyone’s socials, including the mean girls.
After his sister's death, Sunghoon was never the same. His innate will to kill only grew stronger as the years went by. He made a promise to Wonyoung on her funeral, saying that he would someday avenge her no matter how long it'd take him.
➠ three years later, wednesday
“Sunghoon is hosting a party at his place this Friday night. Wanna come?” Your friend Kazuha asked you from her end of the phone. She developed a habit of face timing you whenever she was in the mood for a movie. You were busy scrolling through Netflix catalogs from the comfort of your couch, searching for a descent film.
“Sunghoon Park?” You inquired at the familiar name.
“The sad rich kid whose sister committed suicide after her boyfriend died? Yes, that guy,” she said, struggling to open a jar of pickles.
“Ugh, I could totally use your feminine power muscles right now," she cried, her face contorting as she fought with all her might to release the tight lid.
“That sounds kinda gay, Kaz.”
“Only for you, ____,” she winked playfully before searching her kitchen drawers for a butter knife.
“I mean, are you sure he’s okay with us coming considering how we treated his little sister?” You stopped your scrolling, putting the tv remote down on the coffee table.
“It’s not our fault she couldn’t handle a few jokes.” Kazuha retrieved the lost butter knife from the dishwasher, walking back to the counter,
“Doesn't it make you feel guilty sometimes?”
“C’mon, ____, that was ages ago! And besides, we were kids, we didn't know any better,” she lied, neglecting the fact that you were both well informed of the life-threatening dangers that came with bullying. Kazuha was just having a hard time admitting it.
You were quiet for a moment. How could she be so insensitive?
“Whatever," you mumbled, reaching for the remote again, swiping through the horror movie section. "What’s the hype around this party for, anyways?”
“It’s a costume party, silly!”
Although you were on movie-hunting duty, this conversation was starting to make you sleepy.
“Girl? Are you yawning?”
“Give me a break, Kaz! It's past my bedtime, now pay attention to your pickles,” you joked, rubbing the urge to sleep from your eyes with your free hand.
“It’s the last week of summer break. Don’t let productivity get in the way of your fun before school starts again,” Kazuha protested in both her defense and your favor.
You meditated on her words for a moment before answering.
“Ugh, fine! Only if you promise to join me at the mall for some early morning costume shopping,” you negotiated, pointing a finger at her through your phone.
“Yay!” She cheered, bouncing around her kitchen in a fit of joy, accidentally knocking the glass jar of pickles unto the floor.
“Dammit,” she swore under her breath, running out of frame to likely grab a mop or broom.
Ring. Ring.
You glanced from the tv, taking a quick peek at your phone: Unknown Caller ID.
Hanging up, you proceeded to scroll through Netflix.
Ring. Ring.
The same number was calling you again.
Kazuha was now back in frame, both her broom and mop keeping her hands occupied.
“You can call me back after you check that, if you want.”
“No worries, it’s just some random unknown number that can’t find a hobby.”
“Oooo, spooky,” she said in a teasing voice.
You hung up the incoming call, only for it to call you back once again. Now you were curious.
“Uhm, I’m gonna call you back, Kaz,” you said before hanging up.
“Kk!”
You answered the unknown caller, holding the phone up to your ear.
“Hello?” You asked.
“I’ve been dying for you to answer.”
“Yeah? And how’re you feeling now?”
“Honestly, I’ve been better. What’re you up to?”
“Looking for a good movie to fall asleep to.”
“Really? What genre?”
“Dunno. Probably something scary.”
“Do you like scary movies?”
Yikes. These prank callers really needed to step up their scare game. You decided to play along.
“Yeah, I guess I do.” It took everything in you not to cackle at how ridiculous you sounded. This mystery man was truly a recycled character.
“Hmm, you never told me your name, by the way.”
“Hmm, and I don’t think I will.”
“Oh, it’s because you have a boyfriend, isn’t it?”
“Nooo. Now tell me, why do you want to know my name? Huh?”
“So I can know who I’m looking at.”
You rolled your eyes at his cliche script.
“Right, so anyways, I’m gonna hang up now and you can just…uh, I don’t know, touch yourself til you’re content again.”
“Don’t hang up on m-“
What a loser, you thought to yourself, calling Kazuha back.
“Hi! What did they want?”
“It was just some nerd trying to prank call me.”
“No way. Did he sound hot?”
“Kaz, do you wanna watch this stupid movie or not?”
“Fine, fine, I’ve got my pickles and everything. Now press play!”
➠ thursday
Another easy day spent between you and Kazuha went by. After raiding the strip mall’s clothing shops (and food courts) in search of the sexiest party costumes available, you two agreed on an “Angel x Devil” duo theme. Kazuha chose the devil costume, handing you the sparkly white halo from the angel set. “It’s giving Victoria’s Secret,” Kazuha said, checking herself out in the changing room mirror before striking an awkward pose. You could tell she was trying to lighten the mood, but you couldn't get over how uncomfortable the revealing outfit made you feel. You and Kaz used to slut shame girls who dressed like this, only to turn around and do the same thing yourself. This whole experience felt hypocritical. “I look like an attention-whore,” you said to the mirror, a pitiful expression waving over your features. Kazuha walked over to you, giving your shoulder a reassuring squeeze. “Cheer up, ____. You’re more beautiful than any attention-whore I’ve ever seen, and don't you ever let someone tell you otherwise,” she smiled, kissing you on the head.
“Yay, how flattering.”
“No, I’m serious. We’re gonna be sophomores next semester. How long is it gonna take before we explore our scandalous side? Unless you plan on dying a virgin.”
Oh, the horror.
You considered her words for a moment, giving yourself one more look in the mirror.
“I guess this corset makes my boobs look pretty nice…”
“That’s the spirit! Now c’mon my child. Follow sugar mommy Zuha to the register,” she cheered in a high pitched voice, collecting the clothing tags and paying for your costumes.
➠ friday
12:23pm
You walked into the craft store and were greeted by the smell of sawdust and lumber. Grabbing a hand basket, you strolled around the aisles in search for a few repair materials. Last week, Kazuha accidentally broke the shelf you had installed in your wall with her heavy stretching equipment. Needless to say, you were left to pick up the pieces. To your misfortune, the wood glue was placed on an abnormally high rack. Raising up on tippy toes, you extended your arm, barely grazing the item with your fingertips. That’s when a tall figure reached over your frame, obtaining the wood glue with ease. “Thought you might want a little help with that,” the deep voice chimed, placing the wood glue in your basket.
You looked up to meet his face, jolting as if you’d seen a ghost. The helpful stranger proved to be none other than Sunghoon Park, the older brother of the girl you bullied to suicide back in high school. The last time you saw Sunghoon was at his sister’s funeral, which was almost three years ago. “Are you okay,” he asked, noticing the way your features fell at the sight of him. You tried to recollect your thoughts, forcing a smile that didn’t quite reach your eyes.
“Y- yeah, I’m okay. Thanks,” you said nodding, trying to reassure the both of you.
He eyed you curiously, finding your bashfulness to be rather endearing.
“Do I,” he began, pointing at himself and back to you, “-have we met before?”
“No, I uh- Well, kind of. I- I knew your sister,” you admitted, trying to ignore your own stuttering.
“Oh, I remember. You’re ____, right? Yeah. Wonyo told me all about you and your friends. Who were they again?”
“Kazuha and Maddison.”
“Hmm, and where are they now,” he asked, following along as you subconsciously picked up a pack of brad nails.
“Well, Kaz is actually coming to your party tonight. Maddie moved away a while ago after her brother passed in the camping accident.”
All he did was smile in response. You found that odd, but didn’t give it much thought as he kept talking.
“You know, I’ve been thinking a lot about those years recently.”
You nodded, hoping he would continue.
“I tried telling her to ignore the rumors. To keep smiling and focusing on things that made her happy. I guess it just came to a point where she couldn’t pretend anymore.”
Something in you wanted to say sorry, but you came to realize a long time ago that apologies lacked much worth anyway, benefiting the offender more than the offended. You wondered if he even knew how you used to treat her.
You made your way to the check out line, placing your basket on the conveyor belt. The cashier scanned your items, and you handed her your debit card.
“I’ve been thinking about her, too. Wonyoung was such a bright soul, and put her all in everything she did. She used to talk about you all the time, sharing stories of how amazing you were on the ice. She was so proud of you.”
“Yeah,” his voice cracked.
“Would you like your receipt,” the employee asked cheerfully.
“No, that’s okay. Have a good day,” you wished, taking your shopping bag in one hand and Sunghoon’s wrist in the other.
He was docile as you guided him outside of the craft store, pulling him to face you. Breaking the tension, you gave him a hug, leaning into his chest.
He restrained his sniffles rather well before pulling away as if he wasn’t just on the verge of crying.
“So, are you in school,” he asked, started up a new conversation.
“Yeah, I’m a sophomore. We actually go to the same university.”
“Really? I’ve never seen you around before. I’m a junior. What’s your major?”
“English.”
“Ahh, that makes sense. I’m majoring in Psychology, so we won’t have many classes together.”
You couldn’t believe that he was actually this comfortable talking with you. It was a relief knowing that he didn’t hold his sister’s passing against you.
“Well, enough with the sad stuff, I’ve got some last minute errands to run for the party, so I’ll see you tonight, alright? Do you need a ride?”
“Yeah, actually. Thanks for offering.”
Why was he being so nice?
“Yeah, no problem! I’ll pick u up around 8, okay? It was nice meeeting you again!”
“Yeah, you too!”

9:03pm
It was a Friday night and the mood was right, as some would say. You and Kazuha were dressed to impress in your flirty costumes, earning yourself glares from every corner of the room. You arrived a little later then anticipated, but were still thankful for Sunghoon’s kind gesture of driving you two all the way here. However, he’d been missing in action for the past hour, and you were really hoping that you would have the chance to talk with him again. In the meantime, you sat on one of his fancy couches, enjoying the lively rhythms of the music. Colorful flashing lights kissed the tall ceiling, with an array of drinks and snacks displayed at a bar. You knew Sunghoon was rich, but he had really outdone himself.
Walking over to the bar, you grabbed one of the plastic red cups and filled it with whatever flavored liquid enticed you from the large punch bowl, having a seat at one of the metal bar stools. You gave the drink a whiff before taking a sip.
Someone had definitely spiked the juice.
Although you currently had no one around to chat with, you tried to find some enjoyment in the crowded solitude, watching fellow party goers dance their hearts out before joining them yourself.
9:13pm
Kazuha invited herself to take a tour around Sunghoon’s fancy abode, that honestly felt more like a mansion than a home. She wasn’t sure if it was the faint traces of alcohol in her system, but she was certainly in the mood for a good time. Walking through his home’s back door, she spotted him sitting near his pool, staring at the wind-produced waves. She walked towards him, sitting in the idle seat beside him.
“Hi,” he started, barely glancing at her before looking back at the water, reflecting the moon’s beautiful glow.
“Hi. You didn’t dress up for your own party,” she chuckled, swirling the red liquid in her cup.
“I am dressed up. As myself, of course.”
“So, ‘Sunghoon Park’ is a part of your costume then, yeah?”
“Maybe. Would you like to get to know the real me?”
“Maybe,” she said in between a long sip of the fruity drink she held in her hand.
“If you could be anything at all, what would you be?”
Sunghoon rested his elbows on his thighs in a thinking position.
“A ghost.”
“You’d make one goon of a ghost,” she humored herself until she noticed that he wasn’t amused by her antics.
“Ghosts are liberal beings, free from the taxing cares of this blood and bone world.”
‘Who wouldn’t want that,’ Sunghoon thought to himself.
“Uhuh. So, how do you think your dead little sister is enjoying her boring life as a graveyard ghoul?” He froze at her question, gripping his fists around nothing, trying to get a hold of his emotions.
Kazuha was being a bitch on purpose. It was an innate attitude of hers that she had yet to break. Still and all, she couldn’t help but wonder what Wonyoung would be like if she was still here.
‘If they’re better than me, they’re better gone,’ Kazuha often reminded herself, more so as an affirmation, rather than out of belief.
“Your guess is as good as mine,” Sunghoon retorted, searching his blazer pocket for his silver flask, taking a thick gulp from its spout. Kazuha watched as his Adam’s apple bobbed with each swallow, marveling at the shadow of facial hair growing on his chin.
Cute.
His jaw clenched at the strong drink, the condensation from the silver canister leaving a print from his warm fingertips.
“Want some,” he asked, giving her a nonchalant look.
“Sure,” she said, opening her mouth for him to pour a stream of the amber liquid down her throat.
“You have a pretty tongue,” he said, using a thumb to toy with her lower lip.
Kazuha felt dizzy under Sunghoon’s dark gaze, his piercing eyes telling of all the bad things he planned to do to her.
He laid a hand on her exposed thigh, gripping at the plush skin. “Look at you, squirming in your seat for me and I’ve barely even touched you,” he whispered against her lips, tasting the rum that flavored her mouth with a kitten lick. Her eyes fluttered at the action. How was he so comfortable doing this in front of all these people?
“Is this why you hated Wonyo for so long? Because she could pull hot guys like me effortlessly? I never understood why it was so hard for you, anyway, considering that you go both ways,” he slithered.
She grabbed his wrist, snatching his grasp from her face.
“What? I thought we were having a little fun,” he grinned like a sly fox, displaying his pearly fangs.
“No, Goon! You were having fun!” She got up from the poolside, adjusting her clothes and wiping her mouth. “I don’t wanna be here anymore, tell ____ I’ll see her tomorrow.”
He set his eyes back on the water, taking another sip from the flask.
She waved her arms above her head frantically, trying to get his attention again. “Aren’t you gonna take me home?”
“Forget it, Kaz. You can walk home for all I care.”
She scoffed to herself. “You’re joking.”
“And you’re a classless bitch who bullies girls who’re better than you,” he spat, tucking his flask away in his jacket pocket before getting up to walk in the opposite direction of her.
“Sunghoon! I can’t walk home by myself in the middle of the night! I’ll get chopped up by some weirdo or something!”
“I’m afraid that’s not my problem,” he said, not turning meeting her face. “And by the way, I want you outta here in the next two minutes or else I’m calling the police!”
Kazuha gave Sunghoon the bird, walking the walk of shame as she left his party alone, dressed as the slutty devil he had made her feel like.
9:40pm
Kazuha took short strides as she walked along the concrete sidewalk, trying to get back home before her legs gave out. On the way, she found a random stick lying on a neighborhood lawn. She decided to keep it with her as a weapon, just in case she needed to defend herself.
Ring. Ring.
She answered her phone without looking.
“Kazzieeee.”
“Hello? Who’s this?”
“Oh, we know each other very well.”
A lightbulb went off in Kazuha’s head.
“You’re the perv that prank called my friend a few nights ago, right?” She said, subconsciously walking faster, feeling paranoid for some reason, though, she tried to mask it with humor.
“Where are you going?” The voice on the other end asked.
“Home,” she answered for reasons she didn’t understand.
“I can wait for you at the door if you like.”
“I think I’d like it a little bit more if you found some friends instead.”
“Then why are you walking away from me, you rude devil?”
She turned around to check her surroundings, waving the stick weapon at the sight of a stop sign, dim street lights, and suburban houses. She cackled at herself.
“Oh man, you really had me there for a second,” she sighed, turning back around.
“So, are you gonna invite me in or do I have to force my way?”
“Ugh, what’re you talking about now?”
“I'm talking about how much fun it’s gonna be to rip your insides out!"
Kazuha’s eyes bucked in fear. She never expected the caller to threaten her.
“C- call me again, a- and I’ll call the police,” Kazuha warned in a trembling voice.
It’s hard to sound brave when you’re scared for your life.
The unknown caller let out a mocking chuckle, thoroughly amused by her responses.
She lifted the phone to her face.
“HANG UP AND YOU’LL DIE-“
The dial tone filled the stale night air.
Kazuha fished through her mini bag, looking for her AirPod case. She opened the Spotify app on her phone, clicking on her “Chyll Vybe” playlist. Swallowing her anxiety, she hoped that some upbeat music would take her mind off her fear. Something in her told her to warn you about Sunghoon, and she listened, sending you a quick text before power walking down the side walk. She lip-synced to the melody, trying to lift her spirits.

Kazuha felt like someone was watching her. That’s when she looked to her side and saw a tall clothed figure with a scanty white mask walking beside her. She flinched, “Oh my God, you scared the hell out of me!”
The person stayed silent.
“I don’t remember seeing you at Sunghoon’s costume part-“ Kazuha lurched forward over nothing, the clothed figure tearing through her flesh with a sharp blade, scraping the bone beneath.
Kazuha groaned at the feeling, gripping the offender’s arm at the profound pain.
The figure pushed her wounded body on the ground, taking the knife out of her abdomen before stabbing her again and again, until her ragged breaths couldn’t keep up with the continuous blood flow. Kazuha whimpered and winced, even after the stabbing had stopped, her abused innards glistening under the soft moonlight. She watched as the psychopath removed her AirPods from her ears before walking away, leaving her dying body on the pavement.
He put her headphones in his own ears before comically mimicking the way Kazuha was ‘power-walking’ earlier. Rihanna’s cover of Same Ol’ Mistakes blared from the white pods, chanting the lyric:
“But you've got your demons and she's got her regrets.”
“What a lovely song to die to,” the killer chimed, skipping off into the distance.
10:11pm
Buzz. Buzz.
Your phone vibrated in your white hand purse. Pulling out your phone, the bright screen revealed a text from an unknown number.
What a wonderful surprise.
You jotted in your password before finally checking the message.
Tumblr media
You spun in your seat, searching the crowd behind you. The dancing party lights hindered your vision. You got up from your seat, stepping closer to get a better look. Goosebumps dawned on the surface of your skin at the sight of the hooded figure in a distorted caricature mask, gripping a knife in their right hand. It was a horrific look to say the least.
“Screw you.” You typed angrily on your phone to the unknown number, blocking the contact and putting your phone back away. You just realized how long it’s been since you saw Kaz, so you went out to go and find her.
“You shouldn’t have done that, ____,” you heard a dark voice say from behind you. You ignored it, thinking it was just your paranoia playing tricks on you.
10:16pm
“Why did you leave my side, Kaz? Kazuha?!” You called out in search for your friend. You didn’t entirely believe what the unknown caller said, but you still wanted to make sure she was okay. You made your way upstairs, opening door after door to no avail. Your friend was no where to be found. “Kazuha?! Seriously, if you don’t come out right now, I’m eating the rest of your dried mangoes-”
Crash.
You bumped into a formally dressed party goer, only to realize that it was Sunghoon.
“Oh my gosh, are you okay,” you worried, fixing the damp hairs that framed his pretty face.
“Oh- your hairs wet.”
“Yeah, I was just at the pool.”
“Must’ve been near the hot tub, you look flushed.”
He offered his hand to lift you up.
“Sorry, but have you seen Kazuha anywhere? She texted me something, and now I can’t find her.”
“Oh, she actually left about half an hour ago,” he admitted, still fixing his clothes from the fall.
“Why? Was she okay?”
“Yes, ____, she was perfectly fine. She probably just felt a little awkward and decided to go home.”
You hummed in response. Unlike Kazuha, you trusted Sunghoon for whatever that reason was, so you didn’t spend anymore time talking about your MIA bestie.
“What’re you doing?”
“Texting her good night. Even though she probably won’t see it til the morning,” you chuckle to yourself, eliciting a smile from Sunghoon himself. You have yet to learn his reasons for smiling at some of the things you say, but you had a feeling there was nothing to worry about.
“Who’s that,” he asked pointing to your conversation with the unknown number.
“Just some rando trying to scare me,” you replied, deleting the conversation before putting your phone back in your purse.
“Hmm, I thought you liked scary,” he replied.
You and Sunghoon started to trail back downstairs, ignoring the way his knuckles occasionally brushed against the back of your hand.
“Hey, uh, I know we don’t know each other very well, but I was hoping we could go somewhere a little more private?”
You considered his offer, thinking about how Kazuha abandoned ship when she was the one who hauled you to this silly party to begin with. The night was still young, and you trusted Sunghoon. You wanted to leave with him.
“Yeah, okay. I’m gonna hit up the ladies room first though, and I’ll meet you out front.”
“Wait, Sunghoon,” you called out. “You haven’t had anything to drink tonight, right?”
“Have you?,” was all he asked before flashing a cheeky smirk, displaying his dimples.
“I’ll be waiting for you in my car, alright” he said, giving you a brief hug before heading to the door.
11:24pm
You weren’t entirely sure where Sunghoon was taking you, but you didn’t really care either.
You were too lost in the way he maneuvered the steering wheel with one hand, captivated by the prominent veins that traced his delicately long fingers.
After some time, Sunghoon pulled the shiny black vehicle into the driveway of a log cabin, hidden within the depths of the forest. The bright car headlights glazed the surface of a rectangular sign hanging above the front door, revealing the words "Park Lodge" carved into the wooden slab.
Sunghoon put the car in park, ceasing the calming sound of the air conditioner. His eyes were still trained on the view behind the windshield.
“So," you began, breaking the silence. "How many girls have you taken here before,” you teased, giving him a curious look.
“None, actually, other than my little sister.”
Peering out the car window, you took in all the trees and wildlife that made up your surroundings. It finally hit you that you were in the middle of nowhere with a guy you had known for less than 24 hours. Oh, if Kazuha could see you now.
“Do you own this place?”
“Yup. My grandfather had it built from the ground up when he was around my age. Now, it belongs to me,” he smiled, trying to mask his pride.
You both exited the vehicle, Sunghoon locking the doors behind you. The sounds of crickets and restless owls greeted your ears. He had shared so much of his belongings with you so far that it almost made you feel guilty.
“I hope I’m not giving off the impression that I’m using you,” you mumbled shyly under your breath, walking closely beside him.
“____, you’re exactly what I need in my life right now. If anything, I’m the one using you.”
Something about his comment made you feel uneasy, but you tried to brush it off. He unlocked the front door, letting you step in before him. Upon entering, the space was dimly lit, with wooden accents trimming each corner. An antique chandelier was the source of the faint light, drawing your attention to the artistic etchings that covered the ceiling. This place was truly a gem.
“You looked really beautiful tonight, by the way,” Sunghoon admitted, interrupting your gawking.
“Shut up,” you bashfully rejected his compliment, feeling a sudden heat rush to your face.
“What? I’m serious.”
“And I’m way too tipsy to think rationally right now.”
“Yeah? And what is it that you’re thinking, then? Honestly?”
You waited before answering him.
“That if you knew just half of what I’ve done in the past, you probably wouldn’t even be talking to me right now.”
He took your hand in his, turning you to face him.
“So stop talking.”
“What?”
“Follow me,” he said, beelining you to another room.
A bedroom.
He flicked one of the light switches before sitting you beside him on the bed. He held intense eye contact with you before speaking.
“I’m not oblivious, ____. You may be a nice girl, but I can tell you have a naughty side, too.”
The thought of you and Kazuha’s shopping adventure reminisced in the back of your mind. Promiscuity came so naturally for her, but for you, it wasn't as easy.
“Trust me, there isn’t a naughty nerve in my body.”
“Not yet, maybe. It just needs to be stimulated, first.”
The word ‘stimulated’ hung in the air for a moment.
“Sunghoon, what are you getting at here-“
You gasped as he stopped you mid sentence, caging you beneath his large frame on the bed.
“Maybe we could start with some on top of the clothes stuff, yeah?”
“Sunghoon, this is a little fast-“
“I really need this from you tonight, okay? Just, please. Let me explore you.”
The desperate look in his eyes softened your heart, sending a sensation of numbness through your limbs. It was hard to process that all of this was actually happening right now. A little voice in your head urged you to let go of the nerves and simply let him. As lust and desire intoxicated your senses, you accepted the fact that you were more than fine with this. More than ready for wherever this night with Sunghoon would take you.
“Okay,” you answered.
“Yeah," he asked in excited disbelief.
“Yes,” you reassured him, nodding.
“Explore me.”
That was the green light Sunghoon had been waiting for, pressing a soft kiss to your lips that quickly escalated into a heated tongue fight. He gently grazed his teeth against your neck, nibbling at the sensitive spot beneath your ear. He snaked a hand between your legs, only for his touch to be hindered by the corseted bodysuit of your angel costume. “May I,” he whispered against your skin, sending a shiver down you spine as his fingers drew circles atop the fabric. You could only nod in response, too pleasure drunk to come up with any words. Tossing the outfit across the room, Sunghoon dipped his fingers into the growing wetness at your core.
“Much better,” he grinned, sliding his fingers up and down past your folds. You reached out to tug at his button up shirt, aching to feel his bare skin against yours. He caught on to your desires pretty quickly, stripping himself before you. You stared in awe at his toned body, sinful thoughts of him flooding your brain. He looked down at your vulnerable figure, smirking to himself.
“Both our clothes are off. You can stop teasing me now,” you said, causing him to chuckle.
“What’re you suggesting I do to you, then,” he questioned, inching closer before meeting you on the bed again.
You felt yourself squeeze around nothing.
“I want you. All of you.”
That’s all it took and Sunghoon was already diving back into your lips, lewd sounds bouncing off the bedroom’s walls. You busied yourself with unzipping his pants, palming the bulge that hid behind his boxers.
“Fuck,” he swore under his breath, pulling his bottoms down the rest of the way, granting you access to stroke his shaft a few times before aligning his tip with your entrance. He pushed himself past your tightness, not giving you any time to adjust to his size before rutting his hips against you, groaning at the intense pleasure you gave him.
➠ saturday
5:04am
Last nights sleep was still fresh on your face, adding a weight to your eyelids that you didn’t care to fight just yet. You were laying flat on your back once you felt a different weight sit atop your hips in a still straddle. Eyes still closed, you knew the pressure came from Sunghoon once the scent of his rosy cologne hit your nostrils. You shut your sleepy eyes tighter as he grazed something sharp across the length of your neck before leaning down to kiss the spot softly, his eyelashes fluttering against your skin. He traced the sharp object across the stature of your collarbone and the valley between your chest, tracing another straight line down your stomach to your navel.
Poke.
The sharpness barely pierced you before your eyes shot open at the sting. A shirtless Sunghoon sat on your lap with a large knife in his right hand, the fresh blood from your stomach coating it’s tip. You weren’t naked, but you were only wearing his oversized white poplin shirt from the night before, now stained with a few drops of ruby red. Looking around, you noticed countless stab impressions on the mattress.
Sunghoon must’ve violently stabbed a circle around your head while you slept, loose cotton and feathers covering the messy bedspread.
He looked up from his ministrations and saw that you were awake. You wanted to scream for your life, even though you knew no one would hear you.
“SUNGHOON-,” you tried, but he covered your mouth with his free hand, a sent of iron lingering in your nose.
“Don’t you think it’s a little early to be screaming? The trees might think I’m abusing you in here!”
You rustled under his palm before biting his hand, eliciting a groan from his throat.
“What the fuck is this, huh,” you asked, trying to get up from under him. He wrestled with your arms, pining your wrists to the bed.
“I commend your bravery, but try some shit like that again and I’ll finish cutting you open.”
His eyes were dark, void of any moral conscience. He brought the knife up to your neck, toying with the ripples that made up your anxious throat. “You deserve this for what you did to her, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have a little fun with you first.” He smirked at whatever perverse thoughts ran through his mind. Your breathing became ragged, as the urge to cry grew in your chest.
“Aww, we’ve got a crier,” Sunghoon teased, pouting back at you.
“K-Kaz, sh-she, she tried to warn me.”
“A- an- and you probably sh- should’ve listened,” he replied, mocking the way you stuttered. “I still would’ve caught your ass later, anyways.”
“You fucking killed her!”
“Oh, please. That bitch had the mouth of a viper, someone was gonna put her in her place eventually.”
“You’re insane!”
“I’m also self aware.”
The tears were becoming too much for your eyes to hold back, as thick streams poured from your eyelids, dampening your supple cheeks.
“You took my virginity because of your dead sister?” You yelled again in utter disgust.
“Oh, don’t act like you didn’t fucking enjoy it.”
You spat in his eye.
“You missed my mouth, princess,” he said in a low voice before wiping the spit off of his face, smearing it against your chest.
“You’re into this, huh? Look how hard your nipples have gotten.”
He put his sweaty forehead against yours, planting a tender kiss to your lips that for some reason, you didn’t reject.
“You know, I did enjoy exploring you last night.”
He kissed you again, pushing his hot tongue past your lips, dancing with yours.
“I enjoyed our taste”
He kissed your neck, gripping your throat until your vision went blurry.
“I enjoyed your scent.”
He grabbed a handful of your hair and pulled it like horse reins, causing a choked moan to erupt from you mouth.
“I enjoyed the pretty sounds you made for me.”
He glided his digits between your wet folds, dipping his delicate fingers into your entrance.
“Sunghoon!”
“I enjoyed the way you cried out my name as you clenched around my fingers,” he slithered seductively.
“Fuck, get off of me!”
He was in the middle of admiring your tits when he looked up to meet your rage-ridden eyes, his own face a flushed hue from the heat engulfing your sweaty bodies. He sighed in disappointment.
“You’re a real pain in the ass, you know that?”
“Ugh,” you squirmed, fighting your hardest to escape his grasp.
“How long do you think your weak little body can take my insatiable urges to torture you before it finally gives out? Huh? Making you suffer will bring all the more fulfillment to my life.”
“God, Sunghoon, I don’t care anymore! Kill me! We’ll burn in hell together, I guess!”
“Jeez, would you quit pretending like you want to die? You’re taking all the fun out of it,” he said, rolling his eyes.
The sounds of your choked sobs filled the room’s miserable air.
“This doesn’t make any sense,” you sniffled beneath him.
“Here,” he offered, throwing the knife across the room, causing you to jump at nothing, “allow me to clear it up for you. When I care about someone, I don’t let anyone fucking touch them. Yet, you and your friends managed to hurt her without even doing so.”
“We didn’t know she would take it that far, Sunghoon,” you pleaded in between sobs.
“I didn’t know that my sister would be taken away from me by a bunch of mindless teenage sluts with big and dirty dick sucking mouths! Life’s unfair!”
“Fuck you,” you retorted, feeling lightheaded from all of your screaming and crying. He snickered to himself, presumably finding amusement in how pathetic you sounded. Combing his hair back with a clawed hand, he peered down, looking into your eyes.
“I’ve had just about enough of your talking, princess,” he said, reaching for a towel to shove in your mouth.
Only muffled screams filled the room from there.
He would never admit that it was his own vanity keeping you alive. He’d call it mercy, when deep down, it was his twisted craving for your touch that stopped him from going all the way during torture sessions. Your life had been reduced to its lowest, never to see the mere light of day again. He kept you in an underground basement, lined with bricks and mortar to ensure that you’d never escape his sadistic dictation. Everyday behind those walls felt like an eternity of ‘toy versus toddler tantrum’s.’ If only you knew that a simple mistake you made in high school would be the very wrecking ball to sabotage your entire life.

some hcs abt the bllk boys doing modeling shoots as pro-players? (like what they’d model for and the ways they captivate their audiences and stuff)? ty and love ur works btw 💞💞🫡
idk why but this ask made my brain freeze up and refuse to write anything for 3 days, so apologies if this is late anon:
Tumblr media
sae would be so done. i mean....he walked out on a literal interview, so what makes you think he won't walk out on a photoshoot? he probably hates the very idea of plastering his face all over billboards and magazines. but his manager said that he was in desperate need of good publicity, especially after that stunt he pulled with the last commercial endorsement. if sae was forced to model though, he'd definitely be as stiff as a board. no facial expressions whatsoever and always sticks to one pose. oftentimes, this involves him facing the wall and only showing half his face. if the photographer wants a full frontal, he's going to have to deal with sae's "i don't want to be here and i'm being held hostage" face. even if sae does try smiling, it looks more like a grimace. the only redeeming quality here is that he is good-looking. if you look at the official art, he doesn't even have to try to get all of you drooling over him. that face card does not decline. like ever. so the shoots usually wrap up pretty quickly because out of the 100 images taken, at least half are going to be usable. he's photogenic from any angle.
kaiser would strike a pose for everything, even his own mugshot. i picture him as that one johnny depp advertisement for dior sauvage. blue lighting. a silk blouse with the top button open to show off a sliver of his sculpted chest. his hair is slicked back with gel, and his knuckles are decorated with silver rings. the tattoo just pulls everything together. if not a perfume commercial, then i think he'd model for adidas or some other german brand (maybe even a beer company if he's old enough). i don't think he has any trouble with the actual modeling part of process. he knows how to flaunt himself. the only issue is that kaiser is a lazy perfectionist. he would show up late to the shoots and then stays even later just looking through the shots and choosing which ones to include. puts a lot of time and effort into things like this. after all, his image and his brand are important to him.
shidou would be sponsored by an energy drink brand. like red bull or monster. if not that, then axe body spray lol. as for modeling, i feel like he wouldn't be able to sit still. probably pulls out crazy poses that piss the photographers off on purpose. it always cracks me up how one of his first appearances in the manga is him being muzzled and restrained in a straitjacket inside blue lock's time-out zone. he's so chaotic. you would have to hold him down and shove the camera into his face to actually get a good shot. i also picture him wearing lots of black leather, maybe even silver jewelry (eg. studs, piercings). and of course, you can't forget the hot pink accents.
isagi would model for family-friendly brands. if not that, then just japanese brands in general. i imagine him doing skincare commercials for shiseido or maybe even participating in a campaign for UNIQLO. as for modeling, he would be awkward at first but then gradually get the hang of it. always thanks the team afterwards and is very mindful of the photographer's suggestions. everyone says he is a pleasure to work with.
rin would model for luxury watch brands like TAG heuer or IWC. maybe when he grows older and further develops his career, he might even become an ambassador for louis vuitton or bulgari. overall, his advertisements are very elegant and professional. only endorses high quality products. never looks at the shots afterwards because he hates looking at his own face. gets somewhat embarrassed when his mama points out his billboards and makes clippings of his magazine covers. he absolutely flipped when a brand suggested that he do a collaboration with his brother. so when this collaboration actually did take place, it was like a repeat of the whole messi-ronaldo photoshoot. they didn't actually meet on set. they were just photoshopped together into the same frame.
barou models for calvin klein. lots of denim and shirtless photos. all of the staff got nosebleeds, and his fanbase went wild when the issue was finally released. there's this one image his fans worship religiously where he's posing in his boxers and there's a clear shot of his abs and happy trail. (he's so hot wtf) there's also another shot that wasn't used cus a million people would've been deceased. he's standing there with his thumbs in the belt loops of his jeans and wearing nothing underneath his denim jacket. his hair is also down, and his skin is all sun-kissed and golden.
reo models streetwear, and this is canon because he has the drip. honestly, his duality needs to be studied because he can go from high class gentleman to bad boy who wears chains and knuckle rings. he'd try all different sorts of styles, and he'd look good doing it. out of all the bllk boys, i feel like reo gets the most sponsorship deals because of his versatility. he does the styling, hair, makeup, posing, editing, etc. honestly, they need to hire him as a creative director already. nagi would tag along behind the scenes, but he'd end up scrolling on his phone the entire day.

Gyro the family man
See this victory group shot at the end of the finale 'The Last Adventure'? I feel like THIS was the moment Gyro truly felt like- or finally realized- that he was also part of Scrooge's family all along, reaching a major milestone in his healing/character development since the end of the episode 'Astro B.O.Y.D.' After obtaining their greatest victory yet from the greatest threat they'd all ever faced together (Gyro is standing with the rest of Team Science on the left, including Gandra and Von Drake; click to enlarge):
Tumblr media
Scrooge: *to Bradford* "You didn't lose to me! You lost to my family! All of them!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like to think that Boyd is the most important one in Gyro's life... and that after emotionally reconciling with him at the end of 'Astro B.O.Y.D.' (which I think was the first time he'd opened his heart since before the Tokyolk incident and began healing from the demons of his past), he'd found his own family- his son- and somebody of his own to live for. And I also like to think his relationship with Boyd was strengthened even further after the danger they all faced in the series finale. They came so close to losing each other, since Bradford planned to erase everyone from existence (and even though Gyro didn't really show any signs of worrying about or missing Boyd the whole time they were separated in 'The Last Adventure', I hc he absolutely was)!
Tumblr media
I LOVE THIS SHOT FROM THE FINALE SO MUCH. This was just when Gyro finished reattaching Boyd's head when they were returning home on the plane. The genuine, loving smile they're sharing! The way Gyro's tenderly cradling Boyd's head as he lies in his lap! Gyro just seems so loving and protective of Boyd there, happy he's reunited with his son again and that he's safe.
Tumblr media
AND THIS. This was during the end-credits (or the curtain call, as I refer to it). Boyd catches his free-falling dad, and just as they blast out-of-frame together, Gyro gives the biggest, happiest smile for the first time (it actually happens quite fast, and is a little easy to miss). Look how he's just BEAMING. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. It's this part here that really gets me crying, because it's the last we'll ever see of both Gyro himself and the two of them together. And it's this shot that really tells me Gyro's going to be ok. Ever since 'Astro B.O.Y.D.', I wanted him to go forth into a future of healing, hope, and even happiness with his son by his side... and this shot PERFECTLY sums that up.
I like to think that's Gyro's truly learned he's part of three families- he's the father of Boyd (and Lil Bulb). He's the patriarch of Team Science. And he's part of Scrooge's family.

In Every Winter Night, Part 4 (Marry My Husband Fanfic)
Author's note: Don't read this in the office. Really. Don't. Part 4 of 4.
--
Ji Hyuk
In the car, Ji Won sat quietly in the passenger seat. The day was over, and they were crossing the long bridge south, headed home. The highway lights passed over her rhythmically, sweeping over briefly before going dark again.  Ji Hyuk glanced over occasionally, drawn by the high line of her nose, and the exquisite shape of her lips.
He'd always thought she was beautiful, but as her confidence and assurance had grown she became regal - a queen of her own destiny, wrenching victory where others would lie defeated. He’d been attracted to her before, for her protective, nurturing side. But this, this fiercer side, was new. In recent weeks she had fundamentally changed, no, morphed, tearing her way out of old skin, to emerge like some sleek creature prone to laying quietly while hiding vicious fangs.
It made him weak in the knees.
He knew his feelings had left like, and love a long time ago, and was dangerously close to full on worship already.
Like this evening, at the all-team meeting. Ji Won had been killing it with her presentation, developing her proposed marketing strategy with layer after layer of data, anticipating objections and pushing back with iron-clad logic that showed she had already considered the pitfalls. He knew he sounded like an all-out nerd, admiring the genius of her analyses, but a part of him would always be the guy with the thick glasses and the cheap haircut.
And this was despite being turned on all day by the naughty idea she had planted in his mind.
Speaking of which, his heart had nearly stopped when, about 10 minutes into the presentation, she had paused. Then she had looked him in the eye, and said, “It’s quite warm in here, did someone turn up the thermostat? Give me a second while I take off this jacket.” His eyes had widened and words he could not say rushed through his mind, stomped screeching brakes and ended up a steaming 4-lane pileup in the middle of his brain. Which then proceeded to melt as her hands reached up to peel her jacket back and off. He couldn’t help it, his eyes went right to her breasts.
Or… where her breasts would have been if they had not been behind some kind of …band? Ji Hyuk knew little of women’s fashion, but whatever she was wearing under her white shirt, it had no straps. Instead, like a censorship smudge, the pale material slashed across her torso, redacting her body safely and snugly away from any prying eyes, including his. He looked back up at her laughing eyes.
He had nearly had a heart attack, and there she was laughing at him. He wanted to end the meeting right there and drag her off somewhere to smack her pert behind for the sheer torture she had put him through today. Speaking of which, he glanced over at her again, seated in his passenger seat, once again bundled in all the layers that winter dictated.
“Did you enjoy it, half-killing me today?”
Ji Hyuk glanced at her face, and saw the rueful smile. “Maybe a little.”
His eyes turned back to the road. “It seemed like a lot more than 'a little',” he teased.
He heard the rustle of her moving, and from the corner of his eye he saw her unbuttoning her coat.
“Too warm?”
“Yes.”
Something in her tone made him glance over.
Then he gasped. He white-knuckled the steering wheel and somehow steered them across two lanes to the safety of the rode shoulder. An offended horn blared past, the driver flipping them off. Their car came to a shuddering, jerky stop as his foot spasmed on the brake.
“Ji Won-sshi” was all he could say. His eyes were glued to the front of her shirt, where the chill air had made her nipples thrust into the placket of her silky shirt.  The material clung, and he learnt that she had slightly up-tilted breasts, with a generous undercurve. She was perfect.
“Touch me. Please,” she whispered, “- I..” Her voice shook, but her eyes remained trained on his. “I need you to touch me. You promised me it would be this week and all I did was think about how it would feel if you would just put your hands here.  All week, the slightest touch would make me hot, and I couldn’t stand it any more. So I wore the the tube-top today, just to have a thicker barrier than my bra.  But just now I took it off and-” and then she moaned from the heat of his hand.
He had cupped her. It was a very public area, and he wanted to protect her from prying eyes, but he couldn’t deny her, not when she was pleading for his touch. With shaking fingers, his left hand covered the luscious curve of her right breast, gently petting her. Experimentally, he squeezed, wanting to know how her flesh would give under his fingers. The car filled with the sound of desperate gasps for air, his, hers.
Insistently, she arched her back, thrusting both breasts into the yellow street light slanting in from the windscreen. He could see the faint darker shadow of the tempting peak. With his index finger, he trailed an admiring touch over the insistent nubbin. Her body jerked, and the slight jiggle in her breasts broke him. His hand slid down to her waist, jerking her forward and burying his face between her breasts. He groaned and turned to mouth her.
When she felt the wet lave of his tongue Ji Won’s body spasmed. Hard licks flicked her nipple through the shirt, followed by the desperate scrape of his teeth over the soaked cloth. She thrust both hands into his hair and pulled him even closer. “More, Ji Hyuk-sshi,” she whimpered.
In the next second he was gone. She opened her eyes to protest. His face was grim and his hair stood up in tousled spikes. The fingers that until seconds ago had been loving her, gripped the steering wheel. He stared fixedly ahead as he fought to control his breathing.
“Ji Won-sshi,” he growled.
“Listen to me carefully. We have three and a half minutes before we reach home. For three and a half minutes, I will have to fight this damn erection and the urge to grab you. It will take everything I have.”
He spared her one searing glance, taking in the wet, almost translucent spot on her shirt. His jaw worked and he determinedly pulled his gaze back to the road.
“You, will now button up, and stay buttoned up. Do not move, by all that's holy, and do not make a sound or our first time will be on Seongsu Bridge, Seoul at, “ he glanced at the dashboard clock, “seven thirty-eight p.m.”
--
Ji Won
Ji Hyuk would be a desperate but thorough lover.
That was the only thought in her head as they tore into the basement car park, and drunken parked across two lots. He got out, slammed the door behind him, and marched around to her side. She was out before he could get to her, tugging her firmly buttoned coat into place. His eyes were dark, narrowed, and the frown across his wide brow would have been intimidating if she had not known that she was the cause.
His hands came up as if in surrender.
“Do not touch me in the lift, Ji Won-sshi. Please.” His voice came out low and strangled, but at least he could speak. She could not get a word out past the tightness in her throat. She just nodded once.
He pushed his hands as deep as they would go into his winter coat pockets and turned, leading the way to the lift lobby. His long, urgent strides made his coat flap behind him. He stabbed at the lift button, then he turned to watch her as she caught up. She prayed no one else would get into the lift. They would smell the sex in the air.
Finally, finally, the doors opened on his floor. Again he strode in front of her, leading the way and opening the apartment door for her to enter. The door clicked behind them and his hands came up to grasp her arms. Oddly, he didn’t pull her in, but instead leaned down to examine her face. One eyebrow lifted.
“Are you sure?” he rasped, the arousal in his voice still apparent. “We can still just play, as much as you want. Just count what I said earlier about us making love as the madness of the moment. I want you, with every fibre of my being. But only on your time. If you turn around and leave now, I will take a cold shower and deal with it. Do you hear me, Ji Won-sshi? It only makes sense for me when it makes sense for you.”
Ji Won reached up and pulled is hand away, one, then the other. They dropped to his sides.
Then she lifted her chin, kept her eyes on him, and slid her coat and jacket off her shoulders. It hit the floor. His eyes narrowed, his breath quickened, but still he waited.
With the tiniest tremor, she reached up and unbuttoned her shirt. One button. Two. And then the rest. The silken barrier whispered open. She watched him stare at her, and saw his eyes devour every inch of exposed skin. His gaze slid down,  tracing her creamy cleavage, before it reached her taut belly button. She put one hand on his forearm, still in his coat, the bunching muscles underneath twisting at her touch. She slid her hand down, till she could twine her fingers with his.
She led him to his huge sofa, tugging him behind her. “Sit,” was all she said.
He sat, putting his head even with her breasts. They had not turned on the living room lights, so the only source of light came from the city laid out below them, a wintry blue outline on every surface of the room. Boldly, she slipped out of her shirt, and it slid down her shoulders, the material catching briefly on the tips before it sighed to the floor.  He swore, and stared fixedly at her exposed breasts. Her nipples stood proudly, turgid and flushed, as they had been all day.
“Take me,” she breathed.
His hands immediately came up to span her waist. He tugged her near, and opened his mouth over her, but this time nothing was protecting her from the searing sensation of his slippery, sensous tongue on her. Their moans filled the air. Breathing became difficult and she whimpered and squirmed in his arms. The scratchy roughness of his coat brushed the skin of her uncovered back and arms, almost overwhelming her with the stimulation.
Her fingers dug into his wide shoulders, and she buried her nose into his hair, breathing in his spicy male scent, some beguiling mix of Yu Ji Hyuk and clean soap. She drove all her fingers through his silky hair, guiding him from left to right and then back again,  as he tugged and loved her breasts. She couldn’t help it, and writhed and squirmed back and forth, unwittingly pulling her breast out of his mouth with a soft pop.
Now, the only thing holding her steady were his strong hands, spreading restlessly over waist and  back, sliding over her skirt-covered behind to drag her body over his.
She wanted to straddle him, but her pencil skirt didn’t have much room. So she reached down and tugged it up. Ji Hyuk felt the motion and he leaned back to relish the incoming view. Her body was bisected by a tight band of black pencil skirt, with bare, glistening nakedness above, and a tempting wisp of lingerie below. The tiny, silky triangle of white lace protected her, for now. He swore, and whispered his desire for her, telling her in shocking details the things he wanted to do with her, in that low rough-edged voice. He was  factual, specific and to the point, as was his style.  She was scandalized, but his words made images form in her mind, of sweaty tangled bodies, of his muscled back as he thrust into her, of pure pleasure.
“Do you want all that, Ji Won-sshi?” he half-groaned the words. “Or tell me it’s too early and we’ll stop now.”
She shook her head desperately, pride schooled by her frantic need for this man. "More."
With a deep growl he wrapped her legs around his waist and stood up. One muscled arm wrapped around her waist, the other grabbed her behind.
He put his lips to her ear and rasped, “To the room then.”
--
Ji Hyuk
He wanted badly to make their first night special. But that was when he still could think.
Now, as he laid her out under him, he could only act. He shucked his jacket, frantic hands throwing everything to the floor with abandon. He toed off his shoes and fumbled and tugged his shirt over his head in the same motion. She just lay in bed, her lithe curves outlined by moon and city lights, wickedly half-dressed with her skirt around her waist and the little triangle of lace winking at him as she raised one knee. His pants and underwear were flung away and he joined her in bed.
He twisted his fingers around the tiny scrap of lace and tugged hard. It ripped and he was not sorry. Something feral had woken in him when they met again in 2013, and it would not be soothed. Their little seduction agreement had unleashed that underlying monstrous need for her. Their love play had merely whetted the beast’s appetite. She opened her legs with a gasp, he immediately sunk in and everything, everything became searing white heat.
Her fingers dug into his back, clutched his butt and she arched,  half-crying as she came. The ridiculous speed of her orgasm surprised him, and his body went rigid. He groaned senseless, begging words into her ear, fighting for some shred of control as her inner muscles throbbed and pulsed around him. She writhed sensually under him milking him thoroughly.
He tried to last a little longer, tried to keep grinding his hips to maximize her pleasure, but just like her, he went down.  The waves of lava heat burned through him and crashed over him, drowning him in the smell, shape and red spice of her. His hips jerked wild and uncoordinated, his chest and belly slid against hers and he came blindingly hard.

In every winter night, In every summer day, In the flights of spring, in the spirals of fall, You're in my minutes, in my meals, in my shoes, In the big, in the small, You're my everything, my all.
--
Author's note: Well. Ahem. I was trying to give them a beautiful first night to remember. But Yu Ji Hyuk happened. He gave me a tiny smirk and he whispered in her ear, and there went all my plans.
I really wanted to finish this before the finale, so please excuse typos and weird transitions.

I have spoken so much about how Nathan Shelly's arc enrages me, but I've rarely ever talked about the sadness I get from Sam's
I absolutely weep for Sam Obisanya
From the beginning Sam's character was written as a plot device to aid in the development for the white characters, he literally only exists at first to give Jamie a foil to bounce off of, every moment it looks like Sam could have the beginning of his own character arc it is cut off at the knees instead to give a spotlight to Jamie Tartt's personal journey of growth, from Sam's good family and kind father only being mentioned to show the fact that Jamie can't relate to the experience of having a good dad to Sam deciding he was going to protest Dubai Air by putting the tape on his uniform becoming instead about Jamie showing he was willing to be a team player now, rather than the huge moment of courage and strength displayed by Sam it was supposed to be. When they showed the whole team with tape on their chests and zoomed in on Sam's face it felt so hollow, because instead of the protest being about Sam, which it should have been, it was actually about Jamie. And I was going to give them leeway for that moment, because I believed we were about to fall down a season long arc of Sam fighting against negative press, targetted propaganda, and harassment from government officials and giant corporate CEOs with his protest and subsequent interview, I was expecting to see so much more protests from Sam, so much more activism and altruism becoming an integral part of his character going forward, but instead it's tossed to the side with a singular text message flashed on the screen to show the government just instantly cow towed to the opinion of some random football player?????? Make it make sense.
Then after completely abandoning the possible activism plotline Sam could have gone down they throw him into a relationship with Rebecca, which I don't necessarily mind, but then Sam stopped being a character and just became a hot love interest for the white woman going through a journey of self-discovery to have a fun short sexual fling with before discarding him for her own growth, once again Sam was a plot device in a white character's story. And it happened right after I thought Sam was going to be bumped up in the main character roster with his own well written arc, which just twists the knife even more
And then after all of that bullshit they throw Sam this random restaurant plotline, which once again, I'm fine with, even if it is a little pardon my pun half-baked, but like you need to pick a character arc for Sam to go down and stick with it. This restaurant idea just comes from nowhere in my opinion. It's lovely and a nice thought, but since when has Sam ever shown an interest in food? When did he ever make any kind of reference to wanting to have a restaurant before they decided he'd get one? Why abandon the activism plotline to give him a very similar kind of plotline just with a restaurant instead? Did you realize you weren't nearly skilled or informed enough to write a plot about a black African man protesting the giant white corporate conglomerate that utilizes the colonization of his home country by the country he currently resides in to bribe the corrupt government of his home to further subjugate the people that still live there including his own family and so you backed off like cowards and gave him a cutesy romance and a restaurant plot instead?
Anyways, Sam Obisanya deserved writers that actually knew how to write for him, and I will forever cry about who he could have been if he'd had those writers instead

It's been a few hours since my encounter with Jacaerys and I'll admit, I've missed those corny jokes. He's annoying at the moment, but I seek his company now. I walk to my brother, Cregan, who prepares dinner for me and my siblings.
"Hey Creg," I start sweetly, seeing him look at me and smirk slightly. He knows I'm about to ask for something, he always knows. I move up next to him and look at the meal he's preparing. "Looks good!" "Stop tryna' sweet talk me, what's up?" Cregan says, cocking a brow at me. I feel anxious, knowing he might say no.
"You know Jacaerys Velaryon…" I start, seeing his expression contort into something I can't place. He nods in response, increasing my anxiety. "Could I have his number?"
He pauses for a moment, considering, then sighs heavily. "Why? You don't like him, do you?" He takes the food off the stove, leaning his side against the counter and crossing his arms. "You've gotta be careful about guys like that. I know him better than anyone. He has girls flocking to him by the second. He'll play you like a pawn in some filthy game. I don't want that for you." He grabs his phone despite his words, letting me consider as he finds Jace's contact. Cregan and Jace are close friends from being on the hockey team together, so I trust his judgment. Being co-captains develops a bond that might let you discover some darker sides of each other.
"Trust me, I have no interest in him. It has to do with tutoring," I lied through my teeth, smiling uncomfortably. Now, it was a half-truth! I don't have an interest, but I also want to get closer. It has nothing to do with tutoring him since he won't give me the chance to teach him a damn thing. Cretan examines my expression before handing me his phone with Jace's contact open. I can't help but smile at the contact photo.
It was when Jace let his hair grow out, his curled hair down his shoulders. He posed all pretty with his leg up and batting his eyes with his jersey on. I quickly enter the contact and hand Cregan back his phone, moving over and giving him a gentle kiss on the cheek. "Thanks, Creg. It means a lot. You're the best!" I affirm, patting his shoulder as he rolls his eyes and chuckles. I scramble off, entering my bedroom and texting Jace.
(Y/N): hey it's (Y/N)! I was wondering if you were still up for a hangout? :)
I was shocked by the response time. My phone vibrates in a matter of minutes.
Jacaerys 😐: Yeah. I have a party I was invited to. Sound good?
(Y/N): who's gonna be there?
Jacaerys 😐: Idfk it's a high school party, do you really expect me to know everyone who's showing up?
Well damn, okay asshole.
(Y/N): yes, I do. I expect a list of first names, last names, parents' phone numbers, and their ages before you pick me up 🤨
Jacaerys 😐: Are you going or not.
(Y/N): what time?
I try to figure out when we'll be heading out, mostly because I want to look presentable. Maybe I'll find someone at the party who is interested in me, who knows? He told me he could pick me up in an hour or so. The sun has already set, so I can only assume we'll be out for a while. I text him the okay and get myself ready for a night that changed my whole perspective on Jacaerys Velaryon.
Tumblr media
He pulls up across the street in my neighbor's parking lot, not wanting to seem obvious. I'd never snuck out before, nor planned to. Surely my brother wouldn't mind, he parties all the time! But maybe he'd be hesitant to let me spend time with his best friend. He almost didn't give me his number. I could only imagine how he'd react if I told him I was actively seeking to hang out with him.
Without a second thought, I slip out of my window, closing it and glancing at Cregan's window. The light is off, I can only assume he called it a night early. I rush across the street, trying to keep my head ducked in case he looks out his window and sees me. I quickly open the car door, slip into the passenger side, and slam the door. Jace looks at me in surprise for a moment before bursting into laughter at my anxiety.
"Jeez, you're terrible at this!" He playfully nudged me, causing me to roll my eyes as he pulled out of the driveway and headed toward the party. I check my phone, my leg bouncing as I fumble loosely with my shirt. I feel his eyes glancing at me, worsening my frustrations. "You look beautiful," he suddenly says. I look at him, my brows furrowed. Looking ahead, he has a cheeky grin on his face. "I mean, seriously. You'll have guys all over you."
"Speaking from what you wanna do?" I suddenly say, trying to distract myself from my overwhelming fear that Cregan will message me at any moment. I notice his hesitance to answer and the growing color on his cheeks that I can barely see in the limited light. "Maybe? So what?" He replied, making me laugh. I didn't take him seriously. I know he wouldn't want that. Would he? I sigh heavily and comfortable silence falls over us. Jace turns on a song to fill the quiet space.
We park on the side of the street, music muffled from behind closed windows and doors. It's a Lannister party. I look up at the looming building. I swear it's four floors high. Jace gently takes my hand and walks me inside, obviously impatient and ready to have fun. A few people cheer as Jace walks in. He laughs and greets them, letting go of my hand and leaving me alone. I can't help but feel disappointed watching him talk to different girls and his friends. I sigh and head to the drink table, downing two shots.
"Woah there, Tiger, watch yourself," a voice calls out, revealing Aegon Targaryen. I hadn't interacted with him since middle school when he was head over heels for me. He'd cheated on me, but I hadn't held a grudge. It was middle school. We were all imbeciles unaware of romance. He seems to be getting there, his words only slightly slurred as he smiles flirtatiously at me. I return the smile, except it's awkward. He doesn't seem to notice, offering me a drink which I take. "Aegon! How've you been?" I ask, trying to make a polite conversation. He sighs heavily, brows raised, then chugging his drink with a small laugh. That told me everything, and I felt pity for him. His home life has always been challenging, so I give him the benefit of the doubt in most situations.
I feel myself growing tipsy as Aegon continues idle chitchat. Mostly conversed about life and relationships, and even asked me if I'm interested in smoking some weed with him. I politely decline, scanning the crowd for Jace. The more I drink, the more I feel myself becoming scatterbrained and drunk, and the faces of those around me look all the same. The blaring music triggers a headache and I continue to drink.
Then, before I know it, Aegon has his hand in mine and says words I can't understand. I giggle at him, assuming he said something playful. Then, his hands are on my waist and pulling me close. I grow uncomfortable as he grinds his hips to mine. I push him away a little, but he grows aggressive and starts gripping me tighter. He whispers words that will stick with me forever.
"You love me, admit it. There's nothing I want more than you. You're mine tonight."
I feel sick, tears coming to my eyes. I plead with him to stop, but my words are slurred and incoherent. No one around us pays attention as he pulls me toward the bedroom.
Everything happens so fast. One moment I was wrestling with Aegon, crying and trying to beg him to let me go, the next he was on the floor and Jace was in front of me with his hands clenched into his fists.
I watch Aemond emerge from the crowd, looking at his brother's bloodied nose and bruising face on the floor. It blurs together. I watch as they crash to the floor, glass shattering. I see blood, a broken bottle in Jace's hand, and then Aemond bruised and bloodied on the floor. Jace looks at me, his gaze softening as he grabs my hand and pulls me out. He makes sure I have everything. I look at his face, his nose bleeding and cuts on his arms and hands. I feel my sickness surface, pulling me from Jace and vomiting in the front yard. I hear him say something, but I can't hear him over my vomiting. He pulls my hair back, waits until I finish, and then helps me to his car.
I have thrown up on my shirt. I can smell it. Jace gets in the front seat as I lay in the back, whining and curling up. He watches me through the rearview mirror.
We drive for only a bit before he stops his car. I look out the window, seeing we're at a nearby gas station. He turns around, looking at me then unzipping his backpack that's rested on the floorboard of the back seat.
"Jace..?" I whine, and he softly shushes me. I look at his bloodied hands, my eyebrows furrowed.
"You're okay, you're safe. I'm here," he whispers, pulling out his hockey jersey. He hands it to me. "Can you change into this for me?" I stare at him, shaken up and still scared from the party ordeal. "I won't look." He turns away, covering his eyes. Hesitantly, I strip off my shirt and throw his jersey over my torso. I softly murmur his name, and he looks back at me, smiling lovingly at me. The blood on his face has dried up, and I feel guilty. I feel responsible.
"Jace I'm sorry," I slur out, the brunette reaching for my hand and holding it tightly.
"You have no reason to apologize. Let's go back to your house and clean you up. Okay?" He whispers, making my heart clench as tears fall down my cheeks. "I won't let anything happen to you, ever. You're safe."

Total Drama Changes: Revenge of the Island
This is probably going to be the shortest of these since the one I did for Island, because there's honestly not a ton I can really think of that I'd really want to change for the season? But still a few things, of course.
First off, the season would be longer, with them possibly just having some of the cast from Pahkitew be included in order to make sure they can still have eliminations most episodes.
Mike and Zoey will still have their romance, but in part thanks to there being more episodes, it will develop much more slowly. Basically, they're not going to be at the point where Mike is even joking about marriage after they've known each other for like a week.
Scott would likely still be the main antagonist of the season, but unlike in canon, his schemes would make some degree of sense?
Namely, he wouldn't self-sabatoge his own team anywhere near as often. He would still do it sometimes, but only if he had someone he really wanted to get kicked off, and he was sure he could figure out a way to convince the others to vote for them.
Instead of the whole thing with Anne-Maria and Vito, there would be a bit more focus on the potential/developing relationships between B and Dawn, and Jo and Brick.
Dakota is still mutated by the nuclear waste from the mines, but the mutation is somewhat different from canon. Namely, it's more like a Hulk situation than her just fully being transformed. In other words, she only turns into "Dakotazoid" under certain stressors. Outside of that, the only changes are that part of her hair turns green, her eyes turn red, she gains some height and muscle mass, and has small spikes on her knees and elbows.
Zoey and Mike would get more character development that doesn't involve each other, and also involves them interacting more with the other campers
Give Jo a little more character growth and development, mostly in regards to actually addressing the implication that she genuinely has self-image issues
Mike would not outright reveal that he has DID in the confessionals. Because it makes no sense that he'd be so worried about the other contestants finding out about his condition....only to have no apparent issue revealing it in the confessionals, which are seen by everyone who watches the show, and are presumed to be shown to the eliminated contestants as well.
That being said, he would probably still slip up and hint at exactly what his diagnosis is, but the full reveal wouldn't happen until Cameron confronts him about it after observing how Mike behaves, especially in regards to his triggers and alters.
Cameron becoming physically stronger would get a little more attention, at least from Cameron himself. It wouldn't be a huge thing, but I do think there would be something like a brief callback where he actually demonstrates that his time on the Island has caused him to get stronger, rather than it just being stated by his mother asking if he's gained muscle tone.
The rivalry of sorts between Cameron and Jo would be given just a bit more focus
Related to the above point: the finale would be Cameron vs Jo, rather than Cameron vs Lightning. Lightning would actually probably be eliminated fairly early on.
Not really something related to the main challenges, but with the idea of the season being longer, I would like to get an episode where we catch up with the "losers", partially just because I always liked that episode of the first season a lot.
More of the OG campers would show up as a result of having more episodes and more challenges. They would also usually have more of an active role in either designing/creating the challenges, or taking part in them.
I'd probably change Cameron's motivation for wanting to win the million because it always seemed weird to me for him to go through all the development and growth he got in the season, only to apparently be worried about not being able to return to his bubble if he lost, and then just deciding he didn't need it and sharing the money with everyone even when he wins?

Review of tbona
I don't remember being obsessed with any couple to the point of crying for them. I love them both almost as much as I love their chemistry. I don't like stories where there's no character development and the main leads don't change as a person towards the end. Here, Evangeline's growth as a person , how she matured from a girl who was foolishly in love to a brave Princess who was ready to fight for her happy ending, is something I found to be unravelling beautifully throughout the story..She keeps becoming a better version of herself while remaining true to her core nature.
I often get bored by author's intricate detailing of the artitecture and landscapes but here I just couldn't get enough of her words...It felt like being part of their world, feeling the same magic unfold infront your eyes. Her words captured everything precisely. Some lines were just so pretty that I had to read them again and again for I didn't want to remain devoid of their sweet wisdom.
Jacks, that dude can have my heart and throw it away and I'd still love him the same. His hidden intentions were what really intrigued me in the first book like I just couldn't believe how manipulative he could be for something he wanted...I found it fascinating and just another thing to add into the list of things I loved bout his character. He manipulated her into marrying Apollo and then used Apollo as bait to make her team up with him and he does this all in a way that we can't blame Evangeline. She couldn't see it coming. We didn't even. But surprisingly in the second book, he's so otherworldly obsessed with her. The jealousy and witty comebacks from both of them create such an angsty vibe. He's in love with her , we know it by the end and tragic part was he believed he'd kill everyone including Evangeline if they let them close. He didn't love tella but he believed she was his only chance at happy ever after cuz she was the only girl who could survive his kisses.
But he makes a choice in the end and chooses Evangeline's happily ever after over his happily ever after. He gives her the life she wanted with Apollo by sacrificing his chance at it.
It's the most saddest ending I've ever read.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Rhodey/Tony ship being less popular! I did a quick search and saw something about the actor change, which is super valid; I'm interested in hearing more too, tbh. If you're open to talking about it, of course. If not, feel free to ignore this. :)
--
I don't mind at all.
I'm a big fan of a number of ships with a black guy that were either unpopular or the less popular option. Many of them strike me as falling into fairly similar patterns, not just with the ship itself but with what the other "rival" ship is like and various other fandom dynamics.
Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs from Miami Vice are buddy cops with a super intense relationship of the kind where they spy on each other's girlfriends because they're always insanely suspicious of them and are forever ditching people the minute the other one wants something. The big ship in the zine days was Crockett/Castillo. That's partly due to Edward James Olmos being smoking hot in the 80s, but you basically never saw Castillo/Tubbs, and a lot of the comments C/C fans made were like "I don't think Tubbs cares about Crockett enough". There was a lot of coded talk about Tubbs being "full of himself", which basically means a black guy who doesn't have false modesty as a cultural value. The thing that annoyed me the most was all the C/C fics that act like they're buddy cops. If people are there for daddykink with the stern boss wrecking Crockett, I get it. (And those zine fics are extremely hot.) But to take a series with a zillion sets of buddies, including some for Castillo, ship a non-buddy ship and then go on about the buddy vibes... just... guys... have you heard yourselves???
A lot of ships where people think "Man, if he hadn't been black, this would have been huge" fall into similar patterns. The black guy is almost always the Sane Best Friend rather than the Single Perfect Tear Woobie. Plenty of ships, like Sam/Steve from MCU, further have the problem that the black guy is a side character who doesn't get the development of some of the white leads.
Tony/Rhodey strikes me as being a little different. It shares the problem of Rhodey being a side character while other white leads got a lot of development, and he's another Sane Best Friend to a compelling white hot mess, but it had some other things going on too.
Ships and fanon often form very early in a fandom's history. I know they used Rhodey some after I stopped watching, but the part of MCU I did see is where a lot of the fic trends came from for years afterwards. Iron Man 1 has some potential shipbait with Rhodey searching frantically for Tony, but all of that good shit is erased, IMO, by him being recast for the next movie. Since the majority of fic writers were just MCU fans, not comics fans, this is like a whole new character.
Maybe if he'd been styled the same and acted the same, it would have been less jarring, but IM2 Rhodey is also a dad sweater-wearing wet blanket who gets handed the humorless Nagging Babysitter role. This is not sexy. It is not shippy. Pepper got a bit of it, but she also got a lot of canon romantic development with Tony. Rhodey just got shafted.
Compare to elsewhere in MCU: Sam was presented as a hottie with a snarky sense of humor. A lot of people walked into TWS eager to see Bucky come back and walked out being more interested in Sam. It didn't lead to a ton of fic, but there was more Sam/Steve than Tony/Rhodey, and there was a lot more buzz.
Race isn't irrelevant, but Tony/Rhodey shippers crying about how racism sank their ship are just wrong. Fandom was never going to go for the unfunny babysitter over the zillions of other dynamics available.
I didn't keep up with MCU, but Sam went on to get his own buddy team up with Bucky, and Rhodey got... what? Not much that I heard about.
So yeah, I think we should lay most of the blame at canon's door relative to a case like Miami Vice or Psych.

If neo gets a redemption arc it will be way worst than emeralds as there was practically no build up beforehand for it at least emerald had some hints she doesn't want to be evil
So to be honest, Neo was one of the characters I singled out in the first few seasons of rwby as the most likely to be able to be redeemed along with Torchwick, Emerald, and Mercury (and Adam, but I'm not touching that conversation atm.)
Because villain redemption arcs don't always look like "I no longer want to be evil anymore" to "I no longer am evil." They often look like "The thing I'm doing no longer benefits me" to "Now I have friends I want to look out for" to "Now I no longer want to be evil."
The "We're making a new world" people are Watts, Hazel, Cinder. The "We want to destroy the world" people are Salem and Tyrian. Meanwhile, Roman is a vicious thief, but one who is out to survive and has a 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em' mentality. That's easily turned towards a 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' thing where if he'd realized that Salem was the true threat to him and Neo, he could've aligned himself with the heroes for the sake of convenience, and then eventually developed relationships and eventually wound up starting to naturally change for the better (in my own fanfics, I add onto this possibility by giving him a tragic backstory that includes an ex-friendship with some of the adults and a passive semblance that fucked with his head.) Neo would go with Roman in a redemption arc, but prior to this 'gets possessed by the Cat' thing, post-Roman's-death, Neo has been entirely hellbent on revenge against the wrong person, meaning that if people had managed to talk sense into her (made more possible by Cinder's betrayal) she could've shifted into 'still bad but now a wildcard that the group might feel like they have to work together with,' and for my part with how Ruby sometimes seems a little Torchwick-ish, I always felt like Neo could develop a messed up devotion based on seeing Torchwick in her and therefore projecting Torchwick onto her, and then eventually that could lead to an actual slow burning redemption.
Meanwhile, Mercury is explicitly going wherever the wind takes him more or less and I also think that since he was raised to be an assassin by an abusive horrible father and then immediately got brought into Cinder's team and therefore Salem's (when we know both Cinder and Salem are abusive to their underlings) I always figured that Mercury didn't know much outside of violence, and if he was given a chance, he'd be able to slowly come around. And Emerald is obvious, she's the one who actually almost felt sad about Beacon and then doubted their actions later in Volume six. Her motivations were tied to Cinder, so imo the obstacle for her starting in on her redemption was just removing Cinder either by death or by having Emerald realize Cinder didn't care about her. This is actually one reason why I think her redemption was badly handled, Emerald's devotion to Cinder was really built up and even included in the very volume Em switched sides in, but didn't play any real part in her choice to leave and instead Emerald pretty much just left entirely out of self-preservation. But, her redemption was really likely from jump.
But yeah, I think that as far as redemption goes, I don't just look at 'who seems like they might not actually want to be evil,' I tend to look at things like 'who has a lot to lose,' 'who has motivations that might be easily swayed,' 'who seems like they might not be happy with their life as is,' 'is this person committed to a nefarious goal or is their involvement more by chance?' That kind of thing.
It's like, some redemptions are Zuko in ATLA, by the time he left his father for the last time to join the heroes group, he had completely seen the error of his ways and wanted nothing more than to help others and save the world. Then there are other redemptions that are like Michael in the Good Place, when he joined the group he was still a massive jerk doing bad things for fun, he just also wanted to fry a bigger fish and allied himself with the humans to do it, and it took time to get him from there to 'these guys are my friends and I want them to be safe' to him talking ethics and giving speeches about how humans can always get better while he tried to save the world.
In the longest running (non-published) AU rwby fic I have that my sis and I did after being disappointed in volume 6, Torchwick, Emerald, Mercury, and Neo all more or less got redeemed together - Roman survived the Beacon attack and was trying to seek out Cinder to find out what happened to Neo, who had been captured by Salem, and he ran into Mercury and Emerald who had just run away after the Haven attack (where Cinder actually did die and Emerald became the Fall Maiden) and they joined up with Roman in his quest to join up with Ruby's group because Emerald wanted revenge on Salem for Cinder's sake. And then while they had joined the good side, they consistently got into hateful arguments and Mercury kept talking about ditching, and eventually they managed to free Neo, who stayed 'on the good side' for Roman's sake while continuously trying to convince him to ditch but at this point the semblance I'd given Roman (which is survival) had made it so he felt like he had to stay with Ruby's group because it was the best way to survive. And only after a grueling year-long adventure filled with turmoil, trauma, spending tons of time with the good guys, some of them getting captured by Salem again, temporarily losing their semblances, encountering a Grimm similar to Apathy only it made everyone angry rather than apathetic so they all got into a huge fight where stuff got addressed... Only after all of that did they actually fully really change, and even then, Neo specifically took longer than the others to really change because she took awhile to stop being jealous that Torchwick cared about people other than her and was prioritizing saving the world over just taking care of her. It was a lot of fun! But yeah, I think this post was way way way too long just to say 'actually I think Neo could've been redeemed before getting possessed by the Cat.' XD

when we said we wanted funny gamora this isn't what we meant 😭 what even was that new gotg issue?! also is that really mantis or just someone else called mantis because I'm so confused... nebula & gamora being sisters is so bad & peter is just there I guess..... what did you think?
Anon I've literally never hated the introductory issue to any comic more. I'm including the current ASM run in that.
It's just SUCH a misunderstanding and weird take on every single character involved.
Mantis is... Mantis was in a strange position in that her role as Celestial Madonna had, technically, been fulfilled and you can do a lot with that! You can do so much with that! It's why I'm holding out judgment on her, specifically, until a few more issues come out - I think that the writers are just having her powers go batshit insane. Not the best thing to do, but christ, it'd be better than this being her new personality.
I don't like how Peter is being written to be honest lol. I also just... don't think that this is the right story to be told after Master of the Sun. Not to point out a massive pothole or anything but. Peter has control over all the elements. Groot is made of wood. C'mon now this has to be a joke.
He's also sooooooooooo it's not that Peter wouldn't sacrifice half of the people he was saving to save the others like so long as people LIVED, I could see him doing it. He'd just develop a massive complex about it (see: thanos (2005)).
Nebula being there at all is so weird. She's a villain! An irredeemable one! It's part of her charm! Acting like she'd ever be able to play nice with any of these characters is deranged.
And her being Gamora's sister... now a good writer. a funny writer. would simply say this is yet another case of Nebula claiming to be related to someone. I would ignore every other issue with this run if they did that, it would've been amazing but I fear they're following the MCU for this.
(I'm gonna get sidetracked for a second but jesus my hatred of 616 Nebula being Gamora's sister and Thanos' daughter has no end. This is active character assassination of all three like hello? Why are we pretending that Thanos has children? He had Gamora for a very explicit reason, he had Thane because Hickman hates me, why is Nebula here? She's not biologically his, so what reason does Thanos have to adopt her? I can't see him pulling another Gamora for literally any villain other than the Magus & he already had Gam for that so.... why. Just why).
Gamora is the worst, in my opinion, because I can't find where they got her characterization from. This isn't 616 Gamora for sure, but it isn't MCU Gamora or Eidos Gamora, it's just some random person going around with her name.
Gamora doesn't use Earth slang... at all. I've never seen her call anyone "dad", she'd never be caught dead saying "take the l" and I just... even her non-cringy dialogue feels off.
We know what Gamora in a breakdown looks like (Annihilation: Ronan, Infinity Wars) & it's just not this. She isn't a character, she's a string of quirky buzzwords & alcholism.
(Which is.... oh, the alcoholism could be so so interesting for her re: her relationships with Pip & Tony except these writers don't know what they're doing & have never read a GOTG comic before so I don't think that's gonna be scratched upon).
I'd had high hopes for this run, I thought that this could be the first time we get some solid "in a functioning relationship" Starmora moments. But their relationship is non-existent, their interactions are so stilted and forced and everything between them feels awkward in a way I'm not sure was intentional.
TLDR; this is how the creative team approached the GOTG

I think part of what disappoints me so much about Volume 9 not deciding to have Nora go through her arc is that once we hit Volume 10 if we'd knocked it out in 9 it would leave far more room for new characters and (if they're included) team SSSN to interact with everyone. With all core members of RWBY and JNR going through their arcs it would mean focus wouldn't have to be on them.
I love Nora. Her and Ren are my two favorite characters in the cast because since their screen time is so limited I feel like they've always been well handled. But having her be unconscious for the entirety of volume 8 while Ren got his development and then having us wait one more season while she goes with Ren despite being told by her that she wants to grow outside of him all in all just feels like a missed opportunity.
If you want even more reason why: remember that Ruby was basically acting leader of RNJR for a while there. The youngest in two groups having to shoulder so much responsibility. She'd still be able to be worked into Ruby's breakdown in such an interesting way that would also benefit Jaune as a character because he'd have someone who was willing to be open and honest to him while still caring about him when he's going through it.
It's such a simple change and I think that's why it bothers me, no new character model needed, no super heavy rewrites, but also changing some things to make every character in the season feel important.

Pre-reaping drama, do you think Joseph would be cool with his brothers having a lover? Part of me is like he'd be happy for Jacob, but be on John's ass about him prioritizing the project. Then again, if you take some elements from Absolution, no way Joseph didn't know about John and Holly. Basically, I think Joseph just wants to keep the population in check. Doesn't actually care about people going at it.
Jacob and John are both very invested in the Project and have been for years so I don’t know if that would change if they had a lover. I personally don’t think Joseph would treat them differently; he would probably be happy for them both. Actually, considering he was sad that John was “loved by few”, “misunderstood by all”, and told him he needed to let love into his heart to have a chance to live a long, peaceful life in the New Eden, I imagine Joseph would be thrilled if his little brother found love. Finally, a chance for him to be “loving”, “kind”, and “full of joy” again like the child he used to be!
The author of Absolution wasn’t part of the Far Cry 5 writing team and I imagine he had to work with the information Ubisoft gave him. Reading the novel, it’s obvious that some things changed since it was written… and even as it was being written! For example, Bliss is first described as a drug the cult gives to its soldiers and that is so addictive that “most of them would kill their mothers if it meant they could get another hit”, to quote Holly. Later in the book, it changes and becomes the hallucinogenic, pacifying drug we see in the game. And while it’s clearly said that cultists are not allowed to drink alcohol, nobody ever talks about the “no fornication” rule. As you said, there’s no way Joseph couldn’t have known about John and Holly, especially considering how openly she talks about their affair to Will. But their relationship apparently only exists in Absolution, and the Holly mentioned in Far Cry 5, Holly Pepper, doesn’t even seem to be the same person. She lived in the Henbane River region, far from the Boyd Residence, and with a girlfriend, Charlie, not a husband. The devs included a letter in the game to make it look like she was totally the Holly from the novel but I don’t think it works very well…
Eden’s Gate was a slightly different cult back in 2017, during the game’s development, and John wasn’t exactly the same character either, in terms of personality and morals. While it may have made sense for him to be in a casual relationship with someone at the time, it doesn’t really suit him anymore in Far Cry 5, in my opinion. I just can’t see this man who’s obsessed with purifying people, focused on doing a good job for Joseph, and who looks absolutely mortified when his brother catches him doing something he’s not supposed to do shamelessly “sinning”, especially with a member of the Project who knows and follows the rules too!
Now, being in a romantic relationship doesn’t necessarily mean being in a sexual relationship, so I think they could totally have a lover without breaking the rules. And John mentions “dozens of expecting mothers and children” in their bunkers so it seems the problem isn’t that Joseph doesn’t want his followers to make too many babies (although it would make total sense because they don’t have unlimited amounts of food and supplies in their bunkers) but that Lust is a sin and Eden’s Gate members are supposed to have an almost ascetic lifestyle. I’ve heard them use “fornicator” as an insult so it’s apparently really frowned upon… But, theoretically, you can only “fornicate” if you’re not married, so I guess they could just get married and do whatever they want! My personal understanding of the rule is that they disapprove of casual and meaningless sex, but couples who are official and recognized as such by the community must be allowed to make love and have children if they wish/can… as long as they don’t neglect their duties to God and the Family, of course.
Fun fact: common-law marriage is recognized in Montana. Basically, if you are a couple (two unrelated adults able to consent and not already married to someone else), mutually agree that you’re married, and tell people that you’re married… you’re officially married. No ceremony or license is required. I imagine cultists officialize their unions with religious ceremonies but, legally speaking, they don’t even need to do that to be considered married!

What attracted u to meteor in the first place? Is there anything about the trailers that endeared u, for example? Smth else?
Questions to Kuro about Meteor!
Tumblr media
Definitely the first trailer! Once it dropped, I was floored, completely in love with the Hyuran boy. I had never played an MMORPG before but I was willing to try it solely for him. I remember fawning over the box art at the stores. Somehow, I was intrigued. His design was simple but beautiful to me and I quickly developed a story for him (the father and clan thing). Once I could finally play the game, I was completely invested in him and I wished we'd have cinematics inside that included his design (but that would be unfair for the other players I suppose lmao). I guess I don't really have an answer? It feels like he'd be an underdog if he wasn't the WoL and that almost always attracts me. He's not this force, even though he has the power to be. He is imperfect, he is not always right, he's not always going to win. I like the simple characters or the side characters usually, AND the way he seemed so determined and slightly disturbed, like there's something pulling him into the story even though he's so simple made him so intriguing and mysterious, even though he didn't seem to purposefully hide. I don't know I guess he was the perfect recipe for me and then they kept using him (I'm so glad for that) and upgrading him and he just keeps getting better and better. Plus, you can see a lot of his attitude and way of life with just the trailers. It's like you can make his whole story, but at the same time, your perspective might not be the same as the next person. He has a lot of potential, he can be molded to so many routes and still feel authentic.
I also really like what they did with all the trailers, he has so much development and maybe I can summarize what I love from them:
1.0 showed you who he was, an adventurer in search for coin, pulled in by a higher power, by fate maybe. (They showed you he had visions too I guess?) Also how proficient he was, a team player. The scene with him drenched.... chef's kiss, it's my favorite there. 2.0 showed you what would come to disturb him, the struggle, an impasse and how he got saved to then move to a new adventure. His memories fuzzy and gone, again, he was an adventurer in search for coin. I love him battling and then disappearing and the chocobo scene at the end. 3.0 his frustration and eventual determination as he saw how Dragoons fought against dragons. He could restart and become better. THAT SCENE WHEN HE WALKS PUTTING HIS ARMOR ON ALWAYS GETS ME AAAH IT'S SO GOOD! 4.0 a little bit of his fun side training with Lyse and I the strength and grounded attitude he's gained with the Samurai scene, pretty nice. I like the monk parts the most because I'm biased and I adore monk and he looks like he's having the time of his life up there. 5.0 SUCH IRRITATION, SUCH FRUSTRATION! They show him having these strong emotions, this fatigue, the echo disturbance, the trauma, the ANGER and how everything else is failing... The fact that he has to look to the dark to prevail, it's SO GOOD, ALL OF THIS IS AMAZING! OH AND THE SAMURAI SCENE WITH ZENOS WITH THE ZOOM TO HIS EYE AAAAAAH SO GOOD. AND HIS CHANGE TO WARRIOR OF DARKNESS, THE LOOK UAAAAAAH 6.0 SO HEROIC, YET SO VILLAINY, SO... SO CALM AND COLLECTED, SO STRONG. I love all of it... He's tired, but he's determined. He's not fucking around at all, his eyes are on the prize and that's the peace and safety of the star. The walk at the start, defending the twins and the end with him turning heroically, it's like he made it... he turned into the heroic warrior he's dreamed of... but at what cost?
I went on a tangent there, but... TL:DR I just think he's neat lmao! He's not OP, he always seems down-to-earth, that's the type of protagonist I want. I don't want the always strong, always right character, it's not attractive to me at all. I love the concept of him, he's perfectly imperfect.

Henry Cavill Out as Superman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman on Hold: All About the DC Shakeups — So Far
Things are changing among the big-screen DC superheroes. In October, Guardians of the Galaxy and Suicide Squad directors James Gunn and Peter Safran were announced as the new co-CEOs of DC Studios, formerly known as DC Films, at Warner Bros. With the new leadership came unexpected changes and announcements about the franchises' future.
Gunn, 56, tweeted on December 8 that "building the next ten years of the story takes time & we're still just getting started," and he and Safran were aware that they were entering a "fractious environment." Gunn warned there would be "an unavoidable transitional period as we moved into telling a cohesive story across film, TV, animation, and gaming."
"But, in the end, the drawbacks of that transitional period were dwarfed by the creative possibilities and the opportunity to build upon what has worked in DC so far and to help rectify what has not," he wrote, adding, "We know we are not going to make every single person happy every step of the way, but we can promise everything we do is done in the service of the story and in the service of the DC characters we know you cherish and we have cherished our whole lives."
The director added that the team is "giving these characters and the stories the time and attention they deserve, and we still have a lot more questions to ask and answer."
Before the new leadership took over, DC was undergoing a few alterations that caught fans and filmmakers off guard, including canceling the already-filmed Batgirl movie.
Read on for what we know so far about the future of DC movies. In early December, The Hollywood Reporter and multiple outlets reported that a Wonder Woman 3 script by director Patty Jenkins was rejected, putting the planned trilogy's conclusion in question.
Gunn said on Twitter that "some of it is true, some of it is half-true, some of it is not true, and some of it we haven't decided yet whether it's true or not."
The reports came days after Gal Gadot (who was cast as Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, nine years ago) wrote on Instagram that she "can't wait to share her next chapter" of the character with fans.
Gadot, 37, added, "I've been so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible, iconic character, and more than anything, I'm grateful for you." The most amazing, warm, and loving fans in the world: "I'm still pinching myself to see if I will wake up."
Jenkins broke her silence on the reports, clarifying that she "never walked away" from the project and that she was "open to considering anything asked of me."
She added, "I do not want what has been a beautiful journey with WW to land on [a] negative note. I have loved and been so honored to be the person who got to make these last two Wonder Woman films. She has an incredible character. "Every day, living in and around her values makes you a better person." "I wish her and her legacy an amazing future ahead, with or without me."
Henry Cavill, who debuted as Superman in 2013's Man of Steel and launched the subsequent DC movie series, showed up in a cameo during Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam movie in October. At the time, Cavill told fans on Instagram that he was making a comeback to the role and said in an interview days later that there was a "bright future ahead" for him as the character.
However, Gunn revealed that his team was moving forward with a Superman movie about the "earlier part" of the character's life, and therefore he "will not be played by Henry Cavill." Gunn said he'd been writing the script for a while.
Cavill, 39, then shared a statement about the "sad" development, adding, "After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, before Gunn and Safran's hire, this news isn't the easiest, but that's life."
He said he has "respect" for Gunn and Safran's decision not to bring him back, writing, "The changing of the guard is something that happens." I respect that. James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck and the happiest of fortunes.
Still, Gunn said they are still open to collaborating with Cavill: "We're big fans, and we talked about some exciting possibilities to work together in the future."
Ben Affleck returns as Batman in the upcoming movie The Flash, in theaters June 16, and possibly Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, out Dec. 25, 2023. But the future of his days as the Caped Crusader beyond that is unclear.
Gunn, though, tweeted that he had met with Affleck, 50, "precisely because he wants to direct and we want him to direct; we just have to find the right project."
Variety reported that DC Studios was considering potentially weaving Robert Pattinson's version of Bruce Wayne into the main cinematic universe. (He debuted in the part in director Matt Reeves' The Batman back in March, and a TV spin-off is in the works, built around Colin Farrell as The Penguin.)
Gunn denied the report, though, calling it "entirely untrue." The upcoming Joker sequel, with Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, has begun filming and seems to also remain separate from the extended universe.
