#i dont think i’ve talked my nonverbal!Diluc hc on here yet #but i keep seeing posts abt disability/chronjcally ill/neurodivergent hcs for genshin characters so here’s one from me #idk i feel like after That Night™️ and being on the run from the Fatui/working with a secret organization #diluc not just learns the ‘value’ of keeping secrets and staying quiet but also internalizes his guilt and trauma of saying smth that could #hurt people #it started with him telling Kaeya that he’s not a Ragnvindr anymore and then is exacerbated by his 3-4 Year Fatui Murder Rampage thru Teyvat #and with all ghat trauma and self-deprecation and paranoia he just. stops talking.#he picks up sign language in Fontaine and still writes but at some point he just stops talking and never speaks again #when he comes back to Mondstadt it was hard to adjust to for both him and the people around him #Kaeya initially assumes that Diluc just refuses to talk to him until he later hears gossip abt how no one has ever heard him speak since he #came back. he goes to Adelinde and/or Elzer abt it and they tell him that they neve even hear Diluc so much as hum or grunt #afterwards everyone changes up real fast— Kaeya and Venti drinking at the bar and seemingly just talking at Diluc but they’re always #observing his reactions and body language even when they’re drunk #Jean tries her best to be patient but she has a hard time reading him bc he’s changed so much in the time he’s been gone #Adelinde & Elzer and the winery staff are the most communicative he’s with— Diluc is far more likely to write with them to communicate #at some point Diluc has a business meeting with some rich dude from Fontaine or smth #Kaeya walks in bc he has an actual important mission thinf to discuss and he sees Diluc and this Fontaine dude and the dude’s wife #moving their hands so fast and with all kinds of gestured and stuff #and it’s the first time Kaeya sees Diluc look so EXPRESSIVE— he’s frowning and raising his eyebrows and mouthing words and all this #and Kaeya just goes ‘what’#turns out the Fontainian dude is deaf and both him and his hearing wife know sign; she helps interpret this to kaeya for the dude and Diluc #and Kaeya is like ‘oh okay’ and goes to the kitchen like ‘i’ll just wait here till yall are finished’#and he sees Adelinde and Elzer there with stoic faces and they just. stand there in quiet for so long.#Kaeya finally says ‘…..so. sign language huh’ and Adelinde and Elzer have the most pained looks on their faces #later that week Diluc finds like everyone around suddenly doing basic signs with him #he later learns that the winery has ordered a shitton of signing books from Fontaine and are trying to learn #+ Kaeya and Jean too with help from Lisa bc like dont you know learning several languages is a requirement for graduation from the Akademiya #soon the use of sign starts spreading in Mondstadt— there might be some small communities where they have their own native sign but it’s not #as standardized nor widely known as it is in Fontaine #this is getting really long so I’ll stop here but yeah. nonverbal Diluc who signs fjskdjs

there's a guy who i dont work with but who works from my building as a consultant for a job-center type organization, and whenever he comes in he like. sets such a good example of patience, compassion, good manners, and...i dont know, gentleness that it makes me try harder not to be irritable or impatient with patrons. two totally different jobs, we never even speak unless he's asking for the stapler or we're saying hi and bye on his way in and out of the building, but every thursday good old boring average chris shows up to set up his laptop at one of our public tables and meet clients, and he's so goddamn nice i'm like okay i have to be nice too . so thanks chris

#im usually so short-tempered at work these days i just get so huffy when i have to interact and guide ppl through shit . but it's . idk #i think he gets his frustrations out in a more productive way bc i overheard him on the phone the other day #organizing a wheelchair rugby game . apparently he's on a team. i would never have taken him for a rugby guy. so mild mannered #he really is the most average looking man on the planet but there is a slight slyness to his resting expression bc he has one lazy eye #i think i have a little bit of a crush on him #the circ desk is very tall because patrons will loom over us otherwise so unless im standing up i do not even see him come in #you just hear a rattling noise and you're like oh chris is here whats up as he rolls by #from opposite sides of the particle board. sometimes make eye contact thru the book drop slot #its the most consistent part of my thursdays. out of touch. when your not around. i may have a crush on job center chris #it would never go anywhere. he's like in his forties i think and guy like him. probably married . but i can think my thoughts

Hello! I'm new to this blog and I was just wondering whatever happened to King's Gambit (the 95 line collab)? i'm not really expecting a full answer but I just wanted to talk to you and had nothing else to say ❤️

the king's gambit masterlist — teaser for my fic

don't worry it definitely is still happening and we haven't forgotten about it!! for this collab there's one plot shared between all three of us, and we're each writing a member's perspective so everything is interconnected with each other's fics. since they share the same major events we can't really move forward on the fics unless all of us are ready at the same time, and it's been hard finding time for us to get together and flesh out how our fics end. we are for sure going to finish it eventually because we've all put way too much work into this for it to never be posted (mine is currently at 22k, nova's @duhnova is around 20k and mars @onlymingyus is over 60k) but i can't give you a timeline because i don't know it myself :/ i would really really love for it to be out by the end of this year but that may not be possible, it just depends on the other members of the collab and how much we can all get written. i know it's been over a year since we announced it and i'm so so sorry that we've kept everyone waiting, i want to finish this fic as much as you want to read it and i wish i had something better to update you guys with but that's honestly all i have for now

more and more it makes me kind of uncomfortable (for lack of a better/softer word) to call my own characters ‘ocs’. because like. they’re from a completely original universe and from completely original intertwined stories and all that. so why would i have to specify they’re original in the same way someone would when referring to a character they made for a pre-existing non-original universe/franchise/whatever? by that logic every fiction author ever would be referring to their characters as ocs rather than just. their characters. you know.

#i guess you could say it’s different or something because I haven’t published any one Solid Official Work yet or anything but.#I don’t think that particularly matters? cause then you just get into policing what does and doesn’t count as Real and Official and that #inevitably doesn’t do anything good #idk man I know the term Original Character isn’t technically incorrect in my case but. I just feel like that term was created to separate #fandom creations from their source’s canon. or maybe to describe characters that don’t come from any particular established universe #or story at all (fandom or otherwise).#cause otherwise. why shouldn’t I just be calling them my characters. the characters from my universe and my works. which are #established and incorporated. it’s definitely not properly organized or set up for true publication (at least not yet. definitely possible #I’ll publish something as a consumable structured thing someday)#you just don’t hear established authors calling their characters ocs. because why should they? the original part is sort of a given.#hopefully anyway #anywayyuyyyyyyeuyyyhh sorry this is not important just has been on my mind the last few weeks or few months or more #kibumblabs #I guess there’s also a difference maybe between making characters for the sake of making characters- and those being ocs- versus #characters that are developed as part of a larger work/story #I definitely feel like there’s a difference between the two and how they should be labelled (but im not saying one is more valid than the #other or anything like that.)#like when I see a poll that’s like ‘how many ocs do you have’ I just kinda sit there cause that question. doesn’t make sense in #my situation at all. because it’s the same as asking the author of a fiction novel that question. what do I count as my ‘oc’#would that mean my primary characters? or vaguely my primary and secondaryish ones? or do you mean every single character mentioned #regardless of importance or prevalence? every single named parent or grandparent or boss or childhood friend or one night stand or etc etc #I feel like it’s weird to call those characters ‘ocs’ in the way the question is implying. but then what DOES count? it just doesn’t make #sense for something like this. right? it irks me a little

Work is being so gross lately.

It’s felt like things were gonna get better w my new boss, but like other leadership is looking making changes with basically what’s the main part of my job that feel disconnected from what would help the people I work with, and would make my job harder.

walking in to rephrase my thoughts from discord but i was just thinking about tiger getting checked up by his ripper n yknow one could consider tiger a 'borg in cyberpunks terms sure hes not super insane looking like smasher, he likes looking human and theres almost an art to having all these enhacements and reinforcements all neatly tucked away for no one to see yes you have the obvious visible cyberware on his face, his body, the tail but its nowhere near as extreme as you see elsewhere at times, hell, look at someone from maelstrom

all in all he looks.. tame, very stylized sure but you might not exactly expect this all going on in there

#theres definitely a humm to him when its real quiet and you rest your head on his chest #would usually hear the cyberware idling #n sure... something to be said about cyberpsychosis or what have you but i think the way its done in lore is kind of. lame #i like to imagine it with alittle more nuance #highly dependant on the person and how fast you install it all #i think after a certain point yes your body or mind cannot handle any more but theres more fun ways to show this #that arent just super murdering everyone #tiger is a big guy without all of that tech. hes built and healthy so i think that sets a higher baseline #more space to build on and more options to push further up #without him being in any danger #and all of this cyberware was installed gradually over years with his ripper's watchful eye #making sure it all works #doesnt conflict or affect tiger negatively #and yea i admit it. its overpowered perhaps. but im playing touys and if theres someone like smasher looking like that being perfectly fine #well. tiger is allowed #tiger #my ocs #i also think its just a fun aspect to have this mechanical noise alongside the organic heartbeat

#literally fuck my job #never before have I felt so degraded or humiliated #it is mind boggling to me to hear community members and organizers tell me what a great and wonderful job I’m doing #to then go to my boss and hear how I’m doing everything wrong and need to fix everything #especially when their expectations change everyday without notice #every day I get something back with something changed or a new process telling me that I should have done better or differently #I honestly can not take this much longer #especially with my raise being revoked (unofficially until I have a meeting on Monday)#I literally work so hard and am busting my ass and am the public face of my agency due to my bosses lack of willingness to do anything #and I’m being drug under the bus #I just don’t understand how I ended up here #and I know it will all be fine and I will find another job #but this is so disappointing #and has me feeling so distraught in the moment #anyways #if I haven’t responded to you in a few weeks this is why #I am emotionally unstable and am just trying to hold it together #but I’ll be talking again soon besties
