RIP Timothy West (20.10.1934 - 12.11.2024)

"We met when we were cast with small parts in that really boring play, so had both brought the crossword to stop us going mad. We saw each other across the rehearsal room doing it, so decided to sit together. Then we couldn’t record because of the strike one day so we went to the cinema, Pru and I, to see The Grass is Greener with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. The show was cancelled, but a bit later Pru sent me a card saying ‘they’re reviving that terrible play, are you in it?’ I wasn’t but we started writing to each other then."

Irgendwie war ich angefixt und nach dem Ausflug nach Schwerin zieht es mich in Häuser, in denen ich noch nicht so oft war. Also, auf nach Lübeck! 

Das erste Touri-Foto erfreut jedenfalls schon einmal mein kleines Fahrradherz.

Ein Wochenende, 3 Vorstellungen, fast wie bei einem Festival, nehme ich mit, was geht. Achso und das Thema Wasser natürlich auch. Einen Ausflug an die Ostsee habe ich auch gemacht. 

Ich liebe das wilde Meer! Vor allem im Winter und im Frühling. Und dann noch mit guter Begleitung. 

Richtig #lonely war dieser Ausflug dann eben doch nicht. Am Sonntag bin ich mit einem Kollegen aus einem anderen Theater in die Vorstellung gegangen.

Vielleicht sah das ungefähr so aus, als ivh mit Tickets in der Hand auf meine Bwgleitung gewartet habe. Nue eben mit Winterjacke.

Am Abend noch Essen bei Peter Pane, gibt es in jeder mittelgroßen Stadt, kann man machen, muss man aber nicht. Das vegane und vegetarische Angebot ist aber ganz nice und das Bier preislich im Rahmen. Ich habe aber natürlich auch noch die Barsituation in Lübeck ausgecheckt, und wie für ein Festival Wochenende angemessen kann ich euch mindestens 4 Bars empfehlen: das Kandinsky und die Sternschnuppe. Es tut mir Leid, aber ich hab den Namen der anderen Bars vergessen.

Was sich allerdings in mein Hirn gebrannt hat: Immer Umsteigen am ZOB.

Kulturprogramm am Nachmittag darf auch nicht fehlen. Also war ich auch im Museum, das im Kloster beheimatet ist und hab ganz viel über die Hanse gelesen und sehr viele  abgebrochene Hände von Babyjesus als Statuen gesehen. Und es gab ein Tee-Special. Ich weiß jetzt viel darüber. Aber ich bleibe trotzdem bei meinem geliebten Kaffee. Oh und ich war auch in dieser riesigen Kirche, die mich doll an Münster erinnert. Eben nur evangelisch und ohne Käfige außen an der Kirche. Davon habe ich aber kein Foto gemacht. Hole ich bei meinem nächsten Lübeck Besuch nach!

Und noch ein letzter Tipp: falls ihr mal nicht wisst, was ihr an einem verregneten Tag in Lübeck so machen sollt: Geht ins Wiener Kaffeehaus, da kann man 4 Stunden sitzen, und 2 Kaffee trinken und man sitzt halt rum, aber im Herzen der Altstadtinsel. Und den Kaffee kann man trinken.

!!!! Marina, Marina! I know it might be asking a bit much, but do you Toy.House profiles done up for Hedda, Merlinde, Roksana & Ysabel like you do with Roswitha?? Could you tell me more about them, if not!!! I’m SO HERE for all the gals! & I’d love to know how they fit into the greater story!

Plus now I’m imagining Alucard pestering Integra to use the internet for weeks, until she relents and allows him ONE session, which is to be watched by guards. But interestingly he spends the time internet shopping and browsing on Etsy until finishing. Much to the confusion of everyone… until months later and the manor is delivered a package containing a dog toy of his exact likeness that he commissioned for Roswitha as a gift GRJHRJGD

Hiii! :D Not much to ask at all! Still working on their profiles since coding them does take a while and their stories are not as developed as Rosi's yet! But definitely working on that :D I don't have their stories entirely figured out yet but I can give at least a little info on them yeah! :D Rambling ahead, you've been warned /lh

Merlinde and Hedda are sisters! They also had two other siblings, Merlinde being the oldest and Hedda being the youngest. Merlinde used to be Roswitha's Girlfriend when Roswitha was in her 20s. She was a witch and generally just a sweet woman all around, very kind and caring. She was known to speak with a very soft voice and basically always having a smile on her face. She was later on arrested and executed for witchcraft, leaving behind two of her younger siblings. Ah the old days, truly a time to be a woman doing anything at all. Hedda survived the situation but her grief sort of ate her up inside over years and years. And trying to find a way to cope or any sort of outlet, she just started to blame Roswitha for it all. Hedda gets turned into a vampire in her adulthood, having searched out that chance to give herself more time and more power to find Roswitha and bring her down. Hedda has grown to be a bit of a snob in modern times, she likes expensive and shiny things and cares a lot about herself and herself only really. She has an intense hatred for the church for what they did to her sister and an intense hatred for Roswitha due to blaming her for her sisters death. Roksana came from a poor family and has always struggled in life that led her to paths she isn't proud of, including the job she had at the time. She eventually gets turned into a vampire against her will, mourning the loss of her humanity while being under someones control. Roksana is a bit of a gloomy person, she doesn't smile or talk a lot. But she's really nice once you really get to know her! Ysabel on the other hand came from a very wealthy family and she never really missed anything in her life. She studied medicine, had a wealthy boyfriend and was generally liked by her peers. She knows Roksana, becomes her friend and eventually has to struggle with the fact she actually fell in love with her. Ysabel is very sweet, bubbly and a bit of a chatterbox.

The details are still a bit murky but Ysabel eventually figures out Roksana's situation and tried getting her out of the Vampire's grasp. Hellsing gets involved and was originally set on disposing of Roksana along the other Vampire but Ysabel pleaded and begged for Roksana, shielding the other woman with her own body. She vouches for Roksana and begs them to just let her be and that she could work for them instead so someone always has an eye on her. Ysabel also volunteers to work for the organisation as well, just to make sure Roksana is always looked after. Ysabel works as a Nurse while Roksana works as a Maid in the organisation! They also start dating somewhere between Ysabel coming to terms with her sexuality and Hellsing stepping in! They're in a very happy relationship and care for each other deeply <3 Also oh my god that's so insanely cute x'D That toy would be going through hell in public, poor thing😂But would always be next to Rosi while she's asleep, talk about mixed messages

My top 10 of the best scenes of 2024

I know I usually create a top 10 list of the best couples of the year, but this year has either been particularly disappointing or I’ve become more picky. Either way, I couldn’t find 10 couples that I liked this time. Instead, I put together a top 10 of the best scenes. For some reason, it was easier to choose these. Let’s hope next year will be better.

Of Witches...

and Wolves

I created some illustrations for a story I've been cooking for a while. We follow a witch and her werewolf partner in a western fantasy universe. It kind of combines everything I love western, werewolf and giant creatures (like in Shadow of the Colossus or Evangelion mechs ehe)!
