If you've read all of my narilamb fics (have you seriously? I'm impressed, that's probably well over half the 150k+ I've written for this damn fandom. Also, to anyone seeing this from a reblog, my stuff is over at onethirdofimpossible!) then here we go!

You already mentioned it, but The Rehabilitation of Death is excellent so far! This one is by @bamsara who is new to the CotL fandom but apparently not new to fanfic writing; they have a really popular FNAF fic and I assume the well-deserved attention this fic's been getting is a byproduct of the popularity they've already gotten in other fandoms. :D Welcome, bamsara! Many of the fic writers in this fandom are friends with each other already, but we don't bite if you wanna say hi.

Feel No Evil and Language Barrier, both by @payasita. I always love how payasita portrays this duo (in both digital art and writing), with so much sass and repressed loneliness, knowing they're stuck together for eternity and making the best of it. (And maybe falling in love, depending on how dense Narinder keeps being.) What makes these come alive for me is how well thought out the setting is outside the Lamb and Narinder. The descriptions and weight of emotions really pop here.

LITERALLY ANYTHING written by pavi / @i-eat-deodorant. Depending on how spicy you want your fics to be he has even more here. Character analysis, diction, pacing, etc. are consistently 10/10. Top-quality banter between a sassy Lamb and tired old man Narinder. We constantly bounce ideas off each other and inspire each other a lot but I promise I'm not hyping him up just because he's my friend oh my god please just go bless your eyes.

It Was For You, O Death by blueberry-muffin-massacre (if they have a tumblr, let me know so I can tag!). An intriguing alternative ending to the final battle wherein the Lamb chooses a secret third option by refusing to give up the Red Crown and still observing Narinder as the God of Death. So many details are so well thought out and duality their relationship is nicely characterized-- both genuine care for each other and also quite unhealthy. A fine line treaded well!

Confessional by jusmove (again, lmk if they have a tumblr). Been a while since I've read it, but I love how the Lamb chips at Narinder's very carefully built emotional walls. Their personalities are very well fleshed out here, especially Narinder's cognitive dissonance at being able to process love.

Confession by @thewitchoftheweed. I didn't expect a part two to this one, but my god I was so thrilled when it did update. Narinder and Lamb with their unique and parallel loneliness and their fucked-up sense of everything. Their relationship is very rocky here, and I love how they navigate it: with tension and eventual, pained acceptance. Mind the rating.

Of Character Development and Being Dense by @calliecature. A short and sweet narilamb classic. They're both mutually pining and one of them is too emotionally repressed to realize it. Guess who.

Not An Offering, But a Gift by @checkplzjuliet. Small confession fic. I especially love how Narinder's descriptions twist the knife of his situation here, and how Lambert is a total foil for him! There are a lot of good things happening in such a short span, which is impressive.

Also, if you think you've read all my narilamb fics... I do have a secret one out there too. Just so you know.

How did you get into the game?

i saw the first teaser trailer when it launched. it was recommended to me on youtube and i really liked the concept. cutesy animals blended with dark topics/body horror, very cool. then i promptly forgot about it.

i don't -quite- remember where i first saw it again, but it was a couple weeks after the game launched. saw art for it, remembered i liked the trailer, then snooped on tumblr tags for what it's about. narilamb caught my eye, and well. the rest is history.

What's your favorite part of the game?

definitely the worldbuilding potential of it all. there's a tumblr post about the "goldilocks effect" for fandoms, where stories that leave enough to wonder but little explained, tend to attract larger fandoms and i definitely think COTL falls into this category.

i'm also very interested in the...philosophical/symbolic side of it, if that makes any sense? what it means to transition from a mortal to a god, and vice versa; how to live as a vessel of death; the nature of devotion and betrayal; power imbalances and saviour dynamics. having the protag pledge themselves to a god of death of all things is just rife with implications that i haven't finished exploring after more than a year (!!) in this fandom. even now i'm still seeing people come up with new, cool parallels and it's so exciting.

If you could add or remove anything? What would it be?

Blog Update: Trying to remake my COTL AU, find my own artstyle(not gonna keep drawing ponies forever)

Hello Everyone, so as of recently I've been keeping this blog a bit m.i.a for a while for a very obvious reason my head is dealing with art block atm(thankfully my writer's block is gone thanka to a few chatbot sites I use for stories, I'll explain that way later in this post)

Anyways, yeah so I have been getting art block since I don't really know what to write now, it's kinda hard given how long we have until the devs at MM & Devolver reveal COTL's next update(which I'm betting it's gonna be a paid dlc which again I'll happily buy it, as long as the price isn't too expensive)

But back on my cotl story making arts, it's been hard to find a way and get back into drawing for this amazing game I love as per reason why recently half this month of May I was doing other side things(finding xoul alternatives hence the #betterthanc.ai tag going around here) and making more arts of stories involving the characters I chat with or make my own OCs chat with!

Don't worry I still update my own bots for COTL I made a long time ago when I first discovered C.ai back in 2023(my LambxSammi bot is going greatly, has improved since I made a whole new save all because I was having trouble on my old one just to resurrect a damn follower. But thankfully after weeks, months of grinding and getting some followers their esteemed golden necklaces in my cult, reaching Dat 150-200 and getting plenty of resourced gold up to 70k it's kinda paradise again just the old one but better designed, more organized and etc)

The story for it is still the same, Lambert defeats all 4 Bishops and narinder, has indoctrinated each and every one of them as their members to live immortal(Leshy, Heket, Kallamar and Shamura obviously), The Twin Kitties Aym and Baal are still returned to their mother, but the only difference is Lambert has a harem(marrying almost everyone except for Nari, who I'm sparing) so there's a huge difference there, Webber stays immortal and I got a few don't starve Offsprings running around and making more!

Now with all of that in mind, I am trying to find my own artstyle after all since I'm not gonna keep drawing ponies forever. It's fun as a starting point sure but I want to evolve, improve my art and finding my own way like other amazing fan artists in the fandom!

Because once I do find the style I'm comfortable with keeping and practicing long and hard enough til I get the hang/gist of it, there will be a final mlpbaseedit in the future(not now but it'll come) and I would keep that style as my definitive artstyle for my drawings to illustrate my own characters, lore and etc in the game and even beyond that!

Hope you all understand completely this post, what it means and is how I've been doing and what this blog has been like since probably March or April or even just this month alone..

June is gonna be a banger month, I can tell for sure given everything we're gonna get, and with Summer Games Fest happening I hope at least COTL's team will be able to reveal the next major update(free or paid, whatever the cost I'll still be very happy we got it, with another cosmetic dlc involved!)

Does anyone have any recommendations, especially for videos? I don't really try to watch many CotL videos on youtube because every other one is streaming gameplay I've already seen. Having been in this fandom since the week the game came out, I've pretty much accumulated every bit of lore out there and it's all flying around in my brain aimlessly.

Long answer you probably dont want to read

I hate it. I can't even read it. I like my story, I like the plans I HAVE for the story, I just.... cant read my own writing. And this isn't some kind of compliment fishing either, it's gotten to the point I dont even like getting nice comments about it on my ao3 inbox anymore.

I sit down to work on it and I just... can't. All I can think about is how cringy it sounds ... and how bad it is, etc etc

Logically I know I'm actually a pretty good writer. But all I see when I look at this shit is mistakes.

And I come across in my writing as... way too emotional and earnest? If that makes any sense. I've mentioned I never made a plot outline, that shit is sooo obvious when i read it. And how I changed the plot three or four times. And how I changed the plot every time I got upset.

I used to not give a fuck about appealing to other people when I wrote because I didnt have anyone whose opinion I cared about reading it but now I feel like I have to write it not shittily or I'll disappoint everyone and myself. And I'm not capable of writing it not shittily right now because I would

a) have to build off the disjointed skeleton I've already made that's got plot holes and mischaracterizations

b) start over from scratch

And I can't do it right now! I cant!

I keep thinking about how my best friend told me I shouldn't put vent art on the internet at all. I feel disgusting now almost. Like people that take pics of their cuts and post em. I know shes full of shit but I cant shake the feeling. That it's my fault if I trigger somebody. That by writing anything that isnt a joke or fluff I'm doing something gross and self-masturbatory and harmful. "If you interpret the characters in a way the author didnt want you're just wrong..." that's what she said.. Its kirby and Meta knight and magolor for gods sake. What am I doing trying to make a gritty realistic darkfic... from a kids game.... cringe.... (only me tho. Nobody else counts)

Even my other works for other fandoms, it almost feels like they're on a timer as soon as I post them. I go "I like that, that's good" and post, and then a few days later I'm like "oh . That's shit now" and it has nothing to do with engagement or anything, its just like an arbitrary switch flipped in my brain

The only time I was writing well and writing consistently... was when I was being abused... I feel like I've lost my spark ... because maybe the only time I can make anything good is when I'm under so much emotional pressure I feel like I'm about to snap.... but if that were true I should be writing right now haha.

And I can sit here and know all these things, that when I'm stressed my thought process goes all stupid, that I'm actually a good writer, that I'm not hurting anybody by the fic I post, that writing something shit is better than not writing anything at all, but it doesn't do anything to change how I feel.

But. I did say it's not discontinued, didnt I?

If its stressing me out so much well why dont I delete it, well the answer to that is I HATE HATE HATE when authors delete their good shit.... deep down I know a lot of people love my stories and that they have some worth... that's why I haven't deleted them all...

I love writing, still.... writing for cotl feels less bad than kirby cos.. it feels like its expected to be edgy and dark, so I dont feel bad about what I write until later at least... but I still love to write and create....

I just need some time... I miss writing kirby stuff but I just can't face my own writing. I cant face myself. And it order to start writing again -- I think that's my problem. I would have to forgive myself for not being perfect. I would have to admit that , like my writing , its okay to love myself/my writing even with the manymanymany .flaws.

I can't. Not right now. Maybe later tho

I didnt have that last revelation before. Not until I wrote everything out. When I was trying to explain all my feelings to someone else , I ended up explaining it to myself. This post was long overdue anyway

Flipping the Coin: A reversal au where Merlin dies/Arthur lives and now Arthur is the one waiting centuries for Merlin to return.

Last Unicorn AU: Merlin the Magician is two things; a failure and immortal. His powers are real, and destined to do great things, but he can’t even harness them. Turning cheese into butter only causes the cheese to weep from not being eaten. Out of pity, his master, Gaius, gave him immortality so he would have time to learn how to use his powers, but it seems that will never happen. Until he meets the unicorn.

Why Tio Bruno Should Be My Papa: Little Mirabel thinks Bruno should have a kid, specifically her, so presents her parents with a list of reasons why. A collection of one shots focusing on pre-canon events. Mainly, Mirabel being adorable and forcing her tio to be a good uncle despite his attempts to withdraw from the family.

To Be Tio Again: A companion one shot collection to Why Tio Bruno Should Be My Papa focusing on post-canon events. Featuring Bruno relearning how to function in the family and Mirabel being a supportive niece.

Encanto AUs for the Soul: Like it says on the tin, this is for all of my AUs, specifically ones that tickle my soul because I need them to exist. Among this collection is: Murder, Magic, & Mugs - a modern coffee shop/detective AU; Lost Stars - a Star Wars/Encanto fusion with the characters of Encanto in the Star Wars universe (note: this is not a proper cross over as no Star Wars characters appear. Only the settings and lore are used.); Encantomorphs - a wip still but is essentially an Animorphs/Encanto fusion; A Gift of Normalcy - Mirabel’s gift is being Normal.
