Summary: You start to question your next season and what club you will continue your career at, your fellow Aussie teammates help you out. But the discussion isn't long when you get a call.

Authors Note: Hey guys! This is short but I haven't posted in a while so here you go!

Living in Australia was amazing. Being so close to home all the time was even better. You never left Australia, your home country, to play for another team.

Playing for Melbourne was life changing. It was like being playing on a team, but the entire team was your close friends and family. You never really thought about going anywhere else, when the time came for your contract to be up, another one was made and you stayed.

But lately you were getting a little bored at Melbourne, it was fun and all but it was just the same thing over and over again. You where thinking about a change of scenery, or a change of teams?

You started talking about it when you were on camp with the Matildas, in the hotel room with Steph, Kyra, harper, and Mini. You were laying on the bed on your side, watching Kyra and Steph make a stupid tiktok while mini was playing with Harper.

"Guys I think I want to leave Melbourne." You blurt out loudly, staring at the women in the room for a response.

They all turn towards you, both Steph and Kyra stopping their dance at the same time and turning their heads to you.

Mini and was also looking at you while harper was pulling at her hair.

"Why? Has something happened?" Mini asks with concern in her voice, both Steph and Kyra walk over to the bed you are siting on.

"No, I mean, I don't know. I just kinda want a change in my daily life." Mini nods at that, wincing as Harper pulled her hair a little too hard.

"Where do you want to go? You know Arsenal is a great club-" Kyra starts talking but is cut off my Mini.

"So is West Ham." She adds causing both Kyra, Steph, and Mini to start arguing about their clubs.

Rolling their eyes you speak up to end the fight.

"Arsenal sent me a email saying they want me, I just don't know if its the right choice." Steph and Kyra give each other high fives at the sound of arsenal, stopping mid way when you finish your sentence.

"I feel like you should take some time and think about it, its a big change and you should make the decision when you know that 100% what you want." Katrinas words make you start to think about it, maybe you didn't want to leave is what you told yourself. But you knew deep down you did want to leave, you just couldn't bring yourself to accept it.

Melbourne practically raised you. Spending your childhood on the youth team and young adult hood on the pro level.

Leaving would result in leaving that all behind, the friends and memories would stay on that field, but not you.

You were working out with the Matildas, in the training room with Caitlin and Steph at your sides as you three do weights.

Laughing and talking about the upcoming season made the questioning of a new club arise once more.

"Have you decided?' Steph asked as she put down a 20 pound dumbbell.

"No, well I have been thinking about arsenal, but I haven't got a call yet." You saw spark in both of their eyes at the mention of their club, and the thought of you going and joining them.

"You should soon, your a great player and they have asked for you before." Caitlin says as she goes to grab a weight.

You nod and go back to thinking about the call.

Yeah they called for you before, but will they want you again?

It was 10:24 am exactly when you got a call from an unknown number.

You were sitting in the lobby of the hotel eating breakfast with Kyra, Steph, Caitlin, and Alanna. Laughing at Steph and Kyra using funny snapchat filters of each other.

"Oh hang on guys someone is calling me." You don't look at them while you speak, staring at the phone wondering who this could be.

"Hello?" You answer the phone and a man responds back.

"Hey is this Y/n Y/L/N?" Your heart drops, what in the world is going on, how does this person know your name?

"Umm yes it is why, has something happened." Everyone at the table looked up at you with confusion on their face.

"Well we called from the Arsenal and we have looked at your stats and your season history at Melbourne and we would like for you to sign with us." You start smiling and look up at Kyra and Steph.

They continue to look at you in concern and you whisper, "Its arsenal" and they start yelling and cheering, causing weird looks from your teammates.

"Shhhhh" You hush them and go back to the phone. "Yes! Yes I would love to."

"Great news! We will meet you in a month when the new season starts up! Can't wait to have you!"

BTS MOMENTS: Yoongi & Grace - Long hair is a menace

The team was back together again for rehearsals for their concert in Busan and the staff had decided they were going to film the dance practice for RUN BTS which wasn’t going to be a problem for anyone, apart from Yoongi.

All of them had grown their hair out but some had recently had their hair cut, leaving a fluffy mess in place. Yoongi, on the other hand, was leaving it until he needed to but trying to push your hair back so often when you’ve got complicated dance moves was leaving him very frustrated. 

He watched as Grace grabbed a bobble and pulled her hair into a tight but messy bun that would keep all her hair out of the way without the risk of anything escaping. If there was anyone who was a pro when it came to hair during a performance, it was her. Either in a ponytail or smoothed away from her face using hairspray or clips or using the dance move to flick her hair out of the way - Grace knew how to pull it off. 

He needed his hair out of his face so he could at least see what he was doing.

She was taking a water break before the dance practice, dressing in her usual leggings and crop top with her hair in its usual style. Without thinking about it much, Yoongi meandered over and plopped right in front in front of her, leaning against her legs.

“Hello to you too,” she laughed but her eyes caught the bobble Yoongi was holding up. “Ah, need your hair doing then? This is what you get when you don’t cut it.”

He grumbled something she couldn’t quite hear but ever the willing sister, she got him comfortable and brushed her fingers through his hair to pull out any knots. She could see his face wince slightly in the mirror but she paid no mind, continuing to do what she was doing. 

“Okay, let’s see what we can do here,” she muttered and drew the top part of his hair and some of it at the sides to create a small ponytail. She couldn’t pull the whole lot of hair into a ponytail, so a half up/half down style was going to have to do. 

He grumbled about the time it was taking and that he could have done it himself quicker but a nudge to the back from a knee soon made him shut up. Secretly he was more than happy to have Grace comb through his hair and pull his hair into whatever styles she wanted. He sort of understood why girls did this at sleepovers. 

“There, all sorted,” Grace patted his shoulders and leaned back so he could get up but he stayed there, continuing to lean against her legs.

Reaching back, Yoongi found one of Grace’s hands and pulled it back to his hair. “You are such a cat,” she grinned as she ran her hands through the hair that she hadn’t pulled back, tugging slightly.

It’s both a game and a practiced dance.

Gazes meeting only when no one else is looking. Desires spoken in code. Rendezvous conducted outside of the city—far away from prying eyes that’d buy a secret no matter the cost. A pair of aliases well-worn by now, identities you’re able to slip into like a second skin.

You take your seat: the same one every time. Yoongi knows where to find you, even though he pretends he doesn’t. Takes his own seat behind the conference table and lords over the room like a king. Tilts his chin down as he looks over the crowd of reporters and acts like he’s above all of them. Cocky, self-assured, the biggest phenom to hit this poverty franchise in decades. No one can figure out why he’d want to play here when better teams with bigger salary caps have been trying to poach him away for years.

You know, though.

You know the reasons lie between your sheets; know he gets off on the chase, the clandestine nature of it all. Would it be as fun if it was easy? You roll your lips to hide the smirk. No, I don’t think it would.

A man to your left asks a tired, recycled question about the scoring title. Yoongi pretends he’s above caring, presses his tongue into the fat of his cheek to really sell it, but you know all the things he’ll never admit to out loud. Yoongi’s secrets get pressed into your skin in the dead of night, spoken in whispers that lend plausible deniability to all that vulnerability. You know what Yoongi wants. Know what he looks like when the pressure becomes paralyzing; what the city looks like when it’s reflected in his eyes as he stares down on it from his spot in the clouds.

“I don’t really care about it all that much,” comes Yoongi’s response. Measured and even-keeled, giving away nothing. No one in this room will bother to look further. Yoongi’s exists in that space between false idol and name on a jersey.

To the people around you, he’s a job.

To you, though—he’s almost everything.

So you speak up. Ask him, “But what would it mean to win?”

And Yoongi’s answer is immediate: “Freedom.”

I just know he'd be super supportive with you- helping you along the way. he'd help you weigh the pros and cons, helping you before deciding you want to quit. he doesn't want his personal opinion to get in the way, so he'd be pretty quiet, nodding and humming along while you basically debate with yourself. he'd be a great listener, and a good, solid person to talk to

although he doesn't want his thoughts to get in the way, he does put his two cents in, mentioning things that may be affecting you and your health- how you'd constantly be in pain, or tired and groggy. he knows how much you love it so he'd be careful with his wording. he just wants you to be happy, and if something you love is making you unhappy, he'd tell you

before the days coming up to your decision, he'd offer you a lending ear, wanting to hear your thoughts and feelings. maybe he stays up with you one night while you vent

but when the day comes when you finally decide to quit, he'd be the best :((( he'd get you all your favourite things, and await for your mood. if you wanted to stay in, you'd watch some movies on the couch to distract you, or if you wanted to be left alone, he'd leave you be. he'd run you a bath if needed or make your favourite meal. stay with you while you cry and rant. whatever it is you need at that moment- he'd give it to you. he'd give you all the loving and care you needed to help get your mind off it (that's if you wanted to get your mind off it- he'd go with the flow and navigate you along the way. and understand you may not be in the mood to talk etc)

he'd tell you that he's proud of you, telling you did a great job and that deciding to quit isn't easy, especially if it's something you love and have put a lot of effort into. he also understands that you may need time to grieve it, so he doesn't rush you or make you feel silly for being hung up over a hobby/passion

They’re a bit messy in this one. I’ve started writing it, but I’ll give you half a plot outline as well ->

Aaron, 29, doctor, she’s staring down 30 and her life is NOT what she had envisioned. Tired, run down, spends most of her time alone.

Still friends with Kailyn (male Katelyn) - who tries to set her up ocassionally (like he sends her on a blind date but Aaron is more interested in the exy game playing in the bar. “You kind of look like Andrew Minyard.” “Oh, you’re never going to believe this, actually.”)

She and Kevin had a THING during Kevin’s last year at Palmetto. It only lasted a few months, and Aaron thought it was something solid - because she doesn’t do casual. She’s not romantically attracted to people unless she has a bond, so by the time she’s interested in someone it already feels serious for her - but she was afraid of ruining it by talking about what they were. Which backfired when Kevin was like this has been fun, but you must have known we could never… my career. Etc etc

So Aaron’s heartbroken, but as if she’s going to show Kevin that 🙄 she just gets really cold and standoffish with her. Does her absolute best to avoid her at all costs. Which is fine most of the time, she only really sees Kev on holidays. The first few years at medschool when they gather back in Palmetto for Christmas, Aaron just makes sure someone is always between them, that she’s never left alone with her. Then once she starts residency and working at the hospital, she volunteers for every holiday. Says it’s because she’d rather her coworkers with families have the time off. Spend it with their kids. Aaron has no one, who is gonna miss her, right? She might as well be working.

But she’s fucking haunted by Kevin constantly. Of course. She’s the fucking queen of exy. Once she went pro, her celebrity status only shot up. Aaron’s always seeing her on magazines in the grocery store, popping up on the television in the hospital waiting room, on fucking posters and billboards - she’s not even spared online, getting stupid sports ads that Kevin’s modelling for (and god, she looks hot, and fuck, Aaron hates that, because she definitely looks worse than college. She doesn’t sleep enough, she doesn’t eat as well as she should, she’s always stressed, always tired, doesn’t have the time and energy to exercise as often as she’d like. She’s gotten a lot softer around the middle, and she’s starting to get all kind of lines around her eyes. Fuck Kevin Day for aging like fine wine. That absolute bitch)

Not to mention Kevin was a great lay. No one has ever lived up to her. Aaron’s few attempts at relationships have paled in comparison, and she can’t help but compare everyone to her.

Then Kevin’s team are playing a game against Chicago in the city and she gets in touch to invite Aaron. Aaron doesn’t really want to go, but Kevin got Andrew to ask if she was working first so she can’t fucking even lie. Then Kevin wants to catch up afterwards, and this is bad, and even Kailyn is like are you sure it’s a good idea to go for drinks with your ex. As if he is not also her ex, but he’s different, because he didn’t purposefully treat Aaron like she was nothing. Like she was just a pastime while he was waiting for his real life to begin, like fucking Kevin Day did.

But what, like she’s going to act afraid of her and run and hide again? Fuck that. So she gets dressed up nice - well, as nice as she gets. She’s broke and none of her clothes fit as well as they used to and like ugh fuck everything (Kevin is salivating over her curves but Aaron does not know that) - and she goes to meet Kevin, and she maybe goes a bit hard on drinks to start. Liquid courage. Except then she’s not drinking. She’s talking, and dancing, and she’s fairly sobered up by the time Kevin kisses her but she pretends that maybe she’s not, and then maybe she can blame how bad a decision this is on being drunk.

She keeps telling herself that as she ends up in a cab with Kevin, and then a hotel elevator, and then spread on her bed. Okay. One more time. Just for old times sake. It’s fine. Aaron knows what it is this time. She can do casual.

And a little excerpt of what I’ve written so far:

Kevin had kissed her, tipsy on alcohol, high on emotion, painted by the neon lights of Eden’s. It should have been more surprising than it was. They had been circling each other for a while. Kevin seeking Aaron out more often, both of them more brazen in their casual touches, and it wasn’t their first night at Eden’s dancing in each other’s space. Kevin’s hands on her hips, the scent of her perfume clouding around Aaron, her breath warm against her cheek. More than once they’d come so close that Aaron had been convinced they were going to kiss, but it was always a tease with no follow through. She had assumed Kevin would never act on it, not wanting to sully her reputation with a queer relationship. Which was. Whatever. Easier for Aaron, anyway. Easier just to date men. Easier not to get attached to someone who was going to the other side of the country. Easier all around.

Until Kevin’s lips finally pressed against hers, and Aaron stopped giving a fuck about what might be easier.

They were tucked towards the edge of the floor, well out of sight from any of their group. Kevin’s mouth had tasted like vodka cranberry. She clutched at Aaron’s waist with one hand, cupped her head with the other, and kissed her like this might be the only chance and she wanted to make the most of it. They were both breathless and flushed when they drew apart, glassy eyed and panting, staring at each other for a long moment before they broke into laughter.

“Come to my room tonight,” Aaron told her when they were leaving. “When everyone’s gone to bed.”

And Kevin did. They didn’t even have sex their first night together, just made out tangled up in each other. Kevin did grind herself against Aaron’s thigh, so wet she’d soaked through her underwear. But when her hand went for the hem of Aaron’s shirt, Aaron stopped her. Even though she was slick and throbbing with arousal herself.

“Not like this. I don’t want to be drunk for it… but I, uhm. I can get you off. If you want.”

“It’s okay.” Kevin cupped her cheek, their breath mingling between them.

“You’re really wet.”

“Yeah.” Kevin smiled. “You’re really hot.”

Aaron flushed terribly at that, but her stomach had felt all giddy and light.

“But that doesn’t mean you have to do anything about it. I want you to want it, and I want it to be together. I can wait.”

Kevin smiled, and Aaron didn’t know what to say to that, so she just kissed her again. Kevin’s hands were constantly moving, caressing and gripping all over her body, but she made no efforts to remove any of Aaron’s clothes. Only as their kisses got lazier, more languid and sleepy as they slid closer to drifting off, did Kevin slip her hands under Aaron’s shirt to rub the pleasant heat of her palms up and down her back. Aaron fell asleep warm and satisfied.

I have a House of the Dragon AU series called 'The Targaryen Doe'. It's an Aemond/OC story, where Aemond marries the eldest daughter of Borros and Elenda Baratheon called Camyla Baratheon, the year before Vaemond goes to petition Alicent for the Driftmark throne. The second fic in the series is called 'Something's Coming (so out of breath) and it will encompass the entire Dance.

I have another House of the Dragon AU called 'You Only Get What You Grieve'. It started as a little 'what-if?' ficlet exploring what would have happened if Borros Baratheon had when Aemond and Camyla were aged 10 and they had to marry so Camyla is there when the events of 'Driftmark' occur. It's now grown into a full-blown fic.

An as of yet untitled future story exploring what would happen if Viserys had married a Montoon daughter and Alicent had married Harwin Strong.

ABOUT

riha was born in seoul, '00 liner, softest scorpio you will ever meet

she has an older brother and younger sister. her mom started having kids quite young. her dream was to become a musician but she had to give it up to be a Mom (and also a waitress, get that money etc etc)

riha's dad is a pro football (soccer) player, he was up and coming when she was born but is quite popular now

her family was actually normal for the most part [gasp] dad was a bit absent because he was more interested in his career but he wasn't a bad guy

riha's maternal grandparents took care of the kids a lot but grandma passed away when riha was quite young and didn't rly understand what was going on

dad put all the kids into Active Things as early as he could and mom fell in love with a Sports Guy so she was all for it too

riha got put in ballet but her brother was in Rough Sports and riha was like no. i wanna do that. if i bite one of the girls in my dance class will it prove i'm tough enough for soccer

eventually the parentals relented and bitch was and is so indecisive she tried Everything

she liked soccer most but ended up playing tennis, volleyball, and swimming most bc #misogyny

she was very friendly growing up, did quite well in school, but wasn't Spectacular u know

she really came into her own in high school when she tried out for the volleyball team and got on and became absolutely obsessed w it

she got her First Real Boyfriend in her second year and they were like The Real Deal and way more mature and deep than your average high school rls

riha loved him but then she got a crush on a girl eventually and had a meltdown because it Hit Different u know. The Lesbianism....

it wasn't until her last year of hs that she finally told her bf and broke up with him she was actually so heartbroken over it she cried so much but she told him everything (and that she is a lesbian) and he was an angel and understanding but clearly devastated and that made it worse

so riha decided to be very mature and run away <3 to uni in california KJLDLKJJKLDG

she was like hi my parents this school's volleyball team is very good and well known and they have a good kinesiology program i think this would be a great opportunity for me (:

and they were like ok sweetie if that's what you want to do

so she did it

with the power of english classes and gossip girl on her side she loved it there. and she made it onto the volleyball team but also played beach volleyball. probably got a crush on her beach volleyball partner. gay ass

she spent a lot of time on social media to keep in touch w people back in sk but also got into Fandom Twitter and she's a hot mess so her account was also a mess. her interests are everywhere. but she also made friends everywhere!

( illness tw ) in her last year of uni her mom got cancer and riha almost dropped out to go home and support her but her mom insisted she finish her degree so she did

and once she graduated went home asap

( death tw ) her mom ended up passing away last year, her health deteriorated pretty quickly once riha got back to korea

after her mom died she had no idea what to do with her life because she still loved sports but didn't know how to make that her career and he could go back to school and become a physical therapist or a pe teacher or something blah blah blah

but it didn't take her long to decide that she actually wanted to achieve her mom's dream of being a musician to honor her

in the meantime tho she's a personal trainer at her local gym! and she might pick up some other jobs too we'll see.

she is pretty much a Music Newbie, she learned how to play guitar from her mom and she always loved music but was never a singer or anything

she decided to go down the kpop path because becoming an indie musician or whatever seemed way more overwhelming than becoming a trainee LMAO like "ok all i have to do is get signed to a company and they'll teach me everything right???"

she is still a sports girlie. catch her at the gym even when she's not working but also on the tennis courts and at the pool and probably in a volleyball league and

she got a dog AND a motorcycle after her mom died to cheer herself up LMAO but it helped! she loves miso (the dog) and the unnamed motorcycle because she cannot decide on a name for it even though it's been a year or something

PLOT IDEAS

her ex bf. will be very picky about this but would love to have the plot!!

in the same vein, the first girl she got a crush on that gave her a crisis. this is more open but still important

i haven't said exactly where she went to school in cali so anyone that went to uni there, they could've gone to the same uni!

people she's played sports with. tennis doubles partner, co-ed kickball team, person that is annoyed because she somehow always manages to beat them to the best lane in the pool, etc

people she's training at the gym??

she can physically fight people. she is a 4th degree taekwondo black belt so maybe she absolutely kicked a guy's ass for you one time or something

alternatively you're obsessed w her bc she has a motorcycle and could probably be a stunt double she is a badass tbh

alternatively she is obsessed with you because you're a cute girl but it probably only lasts for five minutes because she's wishy-washier than mr clean

maybe a guy that she also thinks is really cute and is really fond of to give her ANOTHER crisis because she's not 100% confident in her lesbianism. it be like that sometimes....will also be picky about this but it would be fun!

she loves clubbing and somehow always ends up taking care of some drunk girl in the bathroom so there's that

she's a casual gamer too! but she's also very competitive! so it's like, she'll play once a week but depending on the game she'll get super into it and intense about it and then be like that was fun (: afterward. so fellow gamers? she's not that good tbh

ENDING MENT: Has it really been two days already? I really am the happiest when on stage, in front of carats and beside my family. It’s really crazy seeing these montages of us when we were just kids. I really don’t recognize myself. Hi hello i have bleak!primadonna au brain rot and was wondering if you had though as to what chiyako thinks and what the aburame stance is. And also what tsunade thinks. I may be daydreaming about a “5 conversations naruto has about shikako during his reign and one he had with her right after the execution” fic that i dont think will ever get a single word written for it

Anon! Long response is long, PREPARE YOURSELF!

So here’s the thing anon, I HAVE prepared two routes in which Chiyako’s (and, thus, the Aburame clan’s) opinion on the situation would be discussed—but they’re both extremely circuitous:

Shino (as in canon) is the Academy teacher for the next generation and depending on what the curriculum for Team Seven’s various regime changes is, and how much it would risk including the Nanadaime’s genin team if that led to students inquiring after Her. Then, the scene would be a Shino and Chiyako have a conversation dancing around the topic of Her, as a sort of — today I taught the class about *insert Team Seven regime change here* — and whether or not they agree and if Chiyako, as heiress to the Aburame according to my own headcanons, is making plans for the Aburame to join the ANY clan secession or if they would even let her be heiress if they don’t agree with her stance. Sort of a internal family drama vs external clan politics situation.

Chiyako is the jounin sensei for the attractive!one-year-older!Hyuuga genin that Shikadai has a crush on. Which is way more funny to me as a route because it’s Shikadai, being an adolescent in the proximity of his crush, trying to pay attention to what an adult who is a significant political leader that could affect his own clan’s situation but just absolutely SUFFERING by dint of being an adolescent in the proximity of his crush. HE CAN’T FOCUS HE IS BUT A BOY AND HIS CRUSH IS RIGHT THERE.

All that being said, I think Chiyako as an individual is very firmly in the pro-Shikako camp, but the Aburame clan as a whole are more neutral if not slightly pro-Naruto (but not for the same reasons as other pro-Naruto opinions).

As an individual, I do think Chiyako never really gets rid of her hero worship of Shikako so much as it becomes tempered with time and familiarity and as their age difference becomes less significant they become more like peers than the pedestal-like placement she may have had before. Additionally, I have to imagine that if Chiyako is even SLIGHTLY as protective/feral a sister as Shikako was, then she would ALSO think that Shikako is justified in KILLING THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR HER BROTHER’S DEATH. If anything, Chiyako might disagree with how swift and painless the killing was, as opposed to making them suffer, making them WISH for death. Test out the more carnivorous kikaichu strains on them without killing them first, etc. etc.

However, I think as a clan, the Aburame probably think Shikako’s actions were rash (which they were) and ultimately not worth the consequences (which… maybe?) And I know the Aburame being matriarchal is entirely a headcanon and thus has no basis whatsoever but, like, it’s my headcanon so I’m gonna use it: Shikako shouldn’t have risked her position to avenge her brother. She should have become the Nara heir (perhaps she should have been the Nara heiress from the beginning) and from there politically maneuvered things so that she could avenge her brother legally. Or maybe not even bothered with avenging her brother. After all, he’s dead, what use is avenging him? It’s not like that would bring him back. It’s not like she was eliminating an active threat (the councilors would have been just as neutralized whether they were imprisoned or dead.) It’s a sunk cost to avenge him, ESPECIALLY since it cost her her place in the Nara clan (ie, heiress/future head) as well as her position in Konoha as one of the few alternative Hokage candidates/councilors/advisors/etc

Essentially, from their point of view, what she did was the equivalent of a potential queen bee excommunicating herself from her hive just to avenge a fallen worker bee. Unnecessary, irrational, and honestly just an absolute waste.

If she REALLY wanted them dead, then she could have waited and then delegated that to literally anyone else who she had sway over (which is A LOT OF PEOPLE) as opposed to being SO OBVIOUS that she was the one who did it. Like, of course, if those councilors died she would be suspect number one, but at least she could have given herself an alibi or plausible deniability. Although, considering the Hokage’s specialty is “I can make a hundred physical copies of myself” and Shikako managed to make a seal that lets a henge/illusion attach and ground itself on someone who isn’t actively providing it chakra, I don’t know how alibi/murder investigations work in the Naruto world…

And also the Aburame might think killing those councilors is a waste of potential resources, in the sense that—well, maybe not quite as bloodthirsty as Chiyako’s “test out the carnivorous kikaichu on them while they’re still alive”—if they were councilors in Sand, they must be important/valuable to have gotten that position. Whether that is because they are members of Sand’s various clans which may or may not have bloodlimits of their own, or have economic/political clout--though obviously that collective importance/value is less important to Sand than not pissing off Konoha, more specifically the Nara clan, most specifically Shikako. And I’m not necessarily saying the Aburame are proponents of bloodline experimentation (because that’s not their vibe, they care about the breeding of their kikaichu, it’s not just weird MAD SCIENCE) but it could be something like… in a few years, if there’s some kind of trade deal or treaty being made, maybe you trade back one of the councilors for concessions from Sand if they are significant to the negotiation team.

But I think that would be filling out more backstory about throwaway OCs who are dead than they deserve so let’s put a stop to that line there.

Ultimately, I think Chiyako is pro-Shikako internally, but in order to maintain her position as Aburame clan heiress, she adheres to the loyal Konoha shinobi line. That’s not to say she’s not having secret meetings with Chouji and Ino and Kinokawa about having the Aburame possibly join the ANY clans secession—especially since I have to imagine that the Akimichi and Yamanaka have a lucrative business relationship with the Aburame regarding apiaries and crops/flowers and pollination etc etc—but that would have to wait until she is in a firmer position as Aburame clan head, once she’s established herself as powerful enough to protect her clan from any backlash should it come to that.

I HAVE A LOT OF THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS, ANON, SO MANY.

In regards to Tsunade, I did mention her tangentially/briefly in the (fills the void up with celluloid) ficlet: “Had it been the Godaime Hokage—raised with the importance of clan politics, understanding how concessions must be made for peace—there would have been no problem.”

But I suppose if we are differentiating between Chiyako the person versus Chiyako the Aburame clan heiress, we may as well differentiate between Tsunade the person and Tsunade the former Godaime Hokage. Although, I don’t know enough about Shippuden/Boruto to know the timeline of whether or not Tsunade is still alive and through to which point and what she is doing after foisting the hat onto Kakashi. Unlike Neji’s status as alive, I don’t think Shikako would be able to make much difference in Tsunade’s death or not.

Like… it seems like anything that COULD take out Tsunade isn’t something that Shikako could deal with/be in a position to deal with/could affect. But, again, don’t know enough about Shippuden/Boruto to know for sure.

All that being said, if Tsunade IS still alive during the event of the bleak!primadonna AU… I can’t imagine she’s still in Konoha. She did her time as Hokage when the village needed her, but she passed on the hat AND her legendary medical skills, so what else could they possibly need from her? Surely she’s owed a relatively uninterrupted retirement by now.

… I’ve not actually thought further about Tsunade’s personal opinion on the situation, for all that I’ve repeatedly said that in this AU Shikako is pulling a more extreme Tsunade.

Because Tsunade was also a sister who lost her brother, but she turned it into hospital/medical reform instead of revenge murder, and she didn’t leave Konoha until after the war had ended, even though surely it continued on for a while after Dan’s death. And, of course, Tsunade is extremely fond of Naruto. Ugh, not to reduce Tsunade’s opinion into her relationships with various men.

Tsunade is, presumably, the last of the Senju clan. Or maybe the last clan head? But considering we don’t hear anything about them, they’re either entirely dead or—as my headcanon goes—married into other clans earlier in Konoha’s timeline to foster peace amongst the village (and also take advantage of what their clan name meaning thousand hands, which I have to assume means they are good at many different techniques/styles WITHOUT the cheating Sharingan, even if Mokuton was their most prominent ability that sadly needed specific elemental chakra ratios) except that it backfired because they’ve all married out and none remain to BE the Senju clan.

Anyway, all that to say that she doesn’t have any familial/clan responsibilities beyond what she self assigned in regards to Shizune as her almost niece. And for all that she did abandon Konoha for decades, being a drunken gambler around the continent, she DID come back when the village needed her. So, like, she’s probably unimpressed with Shikako’s actions overall.

Shikako might have been acting on the Nara clan’s justifiable desire for revenge for their assassinated heir, but in doing so she left them in the lurch, both leaving them without a proven, trained heir—for all that she never wanted it, she WAS trained alongside Shikamaru in how to run the clan—since Kinokawa wouldn’t have received that same heir training—and also without one of their biggest political/actual powers: Konoha’s premier Seal Master. Shikako is to sealing what Tsunade was to healing. And, yes, she did set up the Seal Research Group as a teenager, so it’s not like she didn’t have a system in place to take over for her, but it’s still a difference between a once-in-a-generation genius versus a group of very smart people who collaborate with each other sometimes?

But, again, I do think Tsunade WOULD have given the Nara their revenge. They were owed the deaths of those Sand councilors who killed their heir. That Naruto deprived them of that was the first in what Tsunade would consider a series of mistakes on both sides. None of this would have been an issue had Naruto done the correct thing: put his personal feelings on capital punishment aside, and considered what was best for Konoha. But then Shikako ALSO made a mistake in exacting that revenge personally as opposed to, like, lobbying for it or setting her OWN feelings aside and doing what was best for Konoha. They’re both foolish children who have compromised Konoha because of their emotions instead of doing their duty and suppressing their bitterness under endless work and various vices. It’s interesting because I think Tsunade is so conflicted about Konoha—she both loves and hates it, what it has become and could be versus what it has done to her, taken from her—she would never act against the village, but hasn’t already asked so much of her? Doesn’t she deserve to leave?

Anyway, I think then Tsunade would appreciate that Shikako did square the circle of the political landscape created by her own actions—ie, the theoretical hot civil war that would have happened had she stayed—by disavowing her name and career so as not to be a threat to Naruto’s status as Hokage or a risk to Konoha. Of course, it’s not nearly enough to fully neutralize the dissent, what with ANY clans’ secession plans, but there’s no way Tsunade would know about that if she’s enjoying her retirement away from Konoha.

It’s not as good as Tsunade’s own decades-long sabbatical, but considering what her two teammates did when they were away from Konoha (what with Orochimaru joining a terrorist organization then leaving that to create a village specifically to invade Konoha and kill their teacher and then Jiraiya having trained the founders of said terrorist organization, thus leading to the biggest threat against Konoha, and then all the terrible porn and no doubt sexual harassment throughout the continent), Shikako’s path is certainly not the worst.

Also, I think Tsunade does enjoy Shikako’s movies, especially the ones where she’s behind the camera either as writer or director. Because for all that Tsunade is fond of Naruto, she think Shikako is fascinating: clever and strange and efficient in such a bizarre, sideways manner. Shikako’s thought process is so unexpected yet compelling to Tsunade, that I have to imagine that translates to Shikako’s movies as well. I don’t think she’s as die hard a fan as Kakashi is, but I do think she has a lot of time in her retirement, and why not go to the movies?

Ahhhhhhh, just thinking about Tsunade looking at Shikako and seeing a girl with so much potential thwarted by war and violence and her own trauma is just… AHHHHHHHHHH.

Anyways, anon, that’s what I think about both Chiyako and Tsunade in the bleak!primadonna AU. And you are correct, I am EXTREMELY bad at writing specifically Naruto himself, so you will NOT be getting a “5 conversations naruto has about shikako during his reign and one he had with her right after the execution” because that’s SIX TOO MANY CONVERSATIONS INVOLVING NARUTO than I am comfortable taking on.

Wednesday going to Enid to talk to her (twice!), Wednesday apologized to Thing bc Enid said so, Enid takes care of the bees even though she haaaates those to help Wednesday, Wednesday joining the team to help Enid win (-> THEM HELPING EACH OTHER!!) , WWWD (?!??HELLO??? AS A THASMIN FAN THIS ENDED ME!!!) and them going to the finish line TOGETHER HOLDING THE FLAG and also Wednesday not minding Enid holding her shoulder

Them almost going dress shopping (and Enid looking at Wednesday at the dance and smiling)

The birthday present!!! ; Enid made something for Wednesday (in black!!) And Wednesday wants to wear it to a funeral!! (bc it's too special for class and she loves funerals ksnskwnxkskdn) and also Wednesday took it with her to the cafe (yes she forgot it there but that's not the point), Wednesday apologizing to Enid (years, it's to get out of nevermore (like she wouldn't be able to find another way) and also to take Enid along obvi), her keeping the snood on , Enid and her will search upstairs (while Tyler can check the ground floor), her helping Enid to get out first & asking if she's okay,

Wednesday is sad after Enid left her/their room ("Goody said I was destined to be alone, but for the first time in my life, it doesn't feel good":(() , Enid "forgetting" stuff as a reason to go back to their room (more than once!), When Enid asks if she was an annoying distraction Wednesday says she had annoying habits (->not an annoying distraction!!:)), them both remembering many little things about each other (I mean yeah it's the "annoying" things but we all know that doesn't matter), Wednesday is sad when Enid said she's going to be Yokos roommate , "you and I both know that you care about Enid" (she didn't deny it!!) Wednesday misses Enid>:( ! and Enid says that They work:) (as a reason why she moves back in)

A murder of woes:

Enid crying when Wednesday is packing her stuff (helloo??!?) "Will you forget about me?" "Enid, the mark you have left on me is indelible" and her thinking about Enid whenever she sees/hears something bright/colorful, Enid saying learned so much from her,

Enid going to look for her AND WOLFING OUT TO SAVE HER AND SAVING HER, Enid RUNNING to Wednesday & hugging her AND WEDNESDAY HUGGING HER BACK AHHHH ALSO A LONG ASS HUG I CAN NOW DIE HAPPILY, and also Wednesday "has to" visit Enid in San Francisco

I succeeded in escaping!!!!!!!!!

Its seriously amazing!!!!!!!!!

Ah! By the way! I also went to the Conan Escape at USJ but, I think those who have gone will understand, Its no good with that fork in the road, there are those that can't make it to the end…🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Its just, the interactions with the characters unfolds before your eyes, so the excitement is earnestly high, when I participated, in particular Heiji and Kazuha were very Heiji and Kazuha, the guests were a buzz from the first comment! Also, if you say, Sonoko's cute! She gave a a very Sonoko-like reply, I felt a ton of respect towards it! Amazing!

It was fun~~~🫶🏻

This time with the escape, Protecting the jewels from Kid with Conan and Heiji..

It felt like I was working with 2 people, You can really feel it, It was fun as a real escape game~~

Since it was the first time I beat an escape game,

I was so happy I thought I was going to cry!!! lol It was to that degree!!! lol

The team that couldn't find all the answers, were like, Uwa! It was like that!

My friend and I were like, This feels great~~🥴🥴 while watching them lol

I'm so happy about it~~🥴🥴 lol
