I’m still outlining what i want to happen so things may change a bit. I don’t plan on making an ao3 fic, maybe in the future. Just art for now. Art is just concepts for this au, not a formal comic yet.

AU rant:

In this au, they still meet as kids and Paimon still buys Blitz for a day but Tilla finds out about Cash made Blitz steal. She and Blitz return the stolen items and Mr. Butler who is chill like that keeps it between them. Imp solidarity.

Paimon, who doesn’t want to deal with a sad Stolas, wants to have Blitz return every summer to keep his son happy enough to go through with his arranged marriage.

To say sorry for stealing Tilla says Blitz should give stolas a gift. But Blitz doesn’t know what, and decides to give Stolas a cheap necklace from the circus gift shop. It becomes one of Stolas’ treasured possessions.

So Blitz visits Stolas every summer for a week (queue the “this is my idea” montage) up until the circus fire happens and Stolas gets married. From here we follow canon pretty much until Ghostf**kers with occasional swan princess line references. The “what else is there?” conversation occurs during Full Moon. The day after Blitz and Millie come back from their Ghostf**kers job, the news explodes because Prince Stolas of the Ars Goetia has gone missing. Blitz decides to investigate.

Stolas has been cursed into his eldritch owl form during the day, and only the light of the moon on the lake water lets him change back at night. Part of the curse is he can’t leave the lake or he stays trapped in eldritch form forever. The lake is on a forgotten Goetia family property somewhere in the edges of the Pride ring (or maybe in a different ring idk). The property belonged to Stolas’ mother, it has been abandoned since her death.

Obviously Andreaulphus and Stella are responsible for cursing Stolas. Idk somehow Barbie comes across Stolas and they start bonding. The curse Stolas is under is ancient soul magic that can only be broken by a ritual where a vow of everlasting love is made and proven to the universe. Problem is Stolas doesn’t know anyone who would do that for him.

The Reluctant King

Done sketching the third character. Once again, it was my first time with Paimon. It took time to find a proper pose, but I finally drew one that suits him properly.

Let's keep going with the rest of the characters.

Hot take, but I don't think Paimon was actually that bad of a father. It actually seems like he loves and cares about his children, but just genuinely doesn't know how to connect with them. To me, it feels like Paimon's own father was abusive or neglectful and now Paimon wants to connect with his kids because he doesn't want them to feel the way he did, but he struggles to connect with them because he never had an example.

I mean, does this really look like a terrible father? To me, it looks like a confused father who is trying. Sure he says his son's crying is an ugly noise and to cease the bitch crying, but maybe he is socially inept, or autistic, or maybe just uncomfortable and not good with children. But what most people brush over is he calls him his little, he uses a cheery babyish voice, he offers physical comfort to his crying son, he tries to cheer him up.

Sure, there is this quote, but hear me out. He's royalty; his schedule is BEYOND packed. He doesn't seem like an abusive or neglectful dad; he seems like an overworked dad. Not to mention, parents of multiple children AND overworked parents often forget their child's name momentarily, or may also call them by the wrong name. As royalty, mistakes are HEAVILY frowned upon so you really think Paimon is going to risk such a stupid mistake of calling his kid by the wrong name? I've also seen the take that Paimon doesn't even know Stolas, which could be the case, but that doesn't mean it's by choice. Many parents even in the real world barely know their children because they're so overworked trying to provide and build a name for their child, that they don't have the time to KNOW their child.

And let's not forget, while he may not have physically taken Stolas to the circus, he DID take the time out of his day to sit there and watch through the whole thing with his son and he DID keep his promise to his son.

Not to mention, he NOTICED EXACTLY what Stolas liked,. What made him happy. What cheered him up. He was PAYING ATTENTION. And, he CARED enough about his son's happiness (and probably knew his son was lonely as he mentions his son has no friends) enough that he tried to buy him whatever made him happy (even though it was a person 😑 but we're not hear to argue if he's a good person, we're hear to argue if he's a bad dad or not). Paimon knew he couldn't be there to fill the emptiness in his son's life, so he hired someone to do just that so his son wouldn't have to feel lonely and unloved.

And without Paimon taking Stolas to this circus and buying Blitz for him, Stolas and Blitz may have never met. Even as adults, the only reason Blitz tries to steal from Stolas is because he knows where Stolas lives and he knows he has this book and what it can do, all because Paimon bought him. And, had Blitz found out about the book through other means, do you really think Stolas would've been so chummy about it if he didn't already know Blitz?

I'm not saying Paimon deserves a World's Best Dad Award, far from it. But at least he tried, and that's more than Crimson, Cash, and a lot of other dads can say. Paimon may not be a stellar dad, but he's not a terrible dad either. And, while this doesn't excuse the pain he caused Stolas, I think it's important to remember just because we have hurt someone doesn't make us a terrible person; life is full of nuance. And I need a scene where Paimon and Stolas have a heart to heart and Paimon realizes his son is in love with an imp and reflects on his own behaviors and beliefs towards imps and apologizes for not being the father his children needed.

Blitzø: “…Wait a fucking second, I remember you! You’re that fancy-pants owl who made his butler livestream the circus for him!”

Paimon: “You’re actually going to marry HIM?! You can’t be serious, you can do so much better.”

Stolas: “YOU do not have the right to tell me how to live my own life, Father. When I was a child, your approval was the one thing I wanted more than anything else in Heaven, Earth, or Hell. But now, I’m a grown man; and the thought of your approval fills me with shame and disgust.”

Paimon: “I was talking to the imp.”

Okay, hear me out!

In the Season Two trailer, when we get this shot:

I guess some folks are theorizing that Blitz is protecting Stolas from Andrealphus, because he is icy, and the ground is icy, too.

But I have another theory!

I personally can’t see Stolas cowering helplessly to Andrealphus. He’s a lesser goetia, having only the rank of marquis, if I’m remembering correctly. Therefore, wouldn’t Stolas be more powerful than him, and why would he be cowering under that circumstance?

But you know who probably IS more powerful than Stolas, and who else casts a spiky shadow?

This guy!

My personal theory is that Blitz is defending Stolas from his very own father! Because, well, Paimon MUST have power greater than Stolas, and if anyone could strip Stolas of his rank (notice he’s not wearing a crown in the first shot!), certainly it would be Paimon. And I could see Stolas cowering to Paimon, and doing nothing to defend himself from him!

That would also make Blitz one crazy, or brave, motherf*cker, to protect Stolas in that moment. (My Stolitz loving heart says that such a heroic act would only be done by someone who ~loves him~, because I can’t see any other motivation for Blitz to take on Paimon, lol. But that is subject for another post!)

So, IS it Paimon that they’re fighting in the trailer? Am I right? Am I wrong? I dunno, but I can’t wait for the episodes to come out to see if my theory is correct or not!
