[SURVEY] The sender gently traces their fingers over the receiver's scars, curiosity evident in their touch.
- from Chenhua to Hymn ;;
Hymn felt fingers brushing over his face near his lips, and in a knee jerk reaction, shot out his hand to forcefully grab the hand they belonged to. Eyes sharpened like daggers, golden eyes cold despite looking like liquid gold, quickly softened again when he realized who he was looking at.
"I..."
Hymn was immediately apologetic, a guilty look on his face as his gaze was cast downward. He let go of her hand, balling his own into a fist on his lap.
"I am, terribly sorry Chenhua." He frowned. "I was lost in my thoughts. I didn't realize....i, didn't mean to frighten you."

POSEIDON
“I begin to sing about Poseidon, the great god, mover of the earth and fruitless sea, god of the deep who is also lord of Helicon and wide Aegae. A two-fold office the gods allotted you, O Shaker of the Earth, to be a tamer of horses and a saviour of ships!”
(-Homeric Hymn, translated by H.G. Evelyn white)
POSEIDON(puh-SAI-din) is the God of the seas, earthquakes, droughts, and horses. Pulled along in his seashell chariot by half-horse, half-fish creatures called Hippocampi, he holds his sacred trident high, bringing a tumultuous storm behind him. Standing beside him is his sea nymph wife, Amphitrite, who is the eldest of fifty nereid daughters of Nereus; the “old man of the sea.”
Amongst the waters are the god’s faithful followers. The half-fish, half-man creature at bottom right is Triton, herald son of Poseidon, who uses a conch shell to calm the waves and announce the God’s arrival. In the middle is a Nereid, a female sea nymph, typically portrayed as a maiden riding a dolphin. Bottom left is Palaimon, sea god and protector of sailors, sometimes depicted as a boy on a dolphin.
The god of the sea is known for his savage retributions. One fascinating episode involves Poseidon and Athena entering a competition to become the patron god of Athens. Upon the Acropolis, Poseidon produces a salt water spring for the Athenians, while Athena wins by creating the first olive tree. The sea god, in his anger, sends a flood to punish the mortals. In the odyssey, after Odysseus blinds Poseidon’s son, the giant cyclops Polyphemus, the god causes havoc and disaster for the hero and his crew as they attempt to sail home. Poseidon sends Cetusthe sea serpent to punish QueenCassiopa for her hubris in comparing her daughter Andromedato the nereids. And, he sends a bull from the sea to terrorize Theseus’ son Hippolytus’ chariot.

The Hymn of the Universe
Om – often referred to as the hymn of the universe – is considered the ultimate vibration because it contains every vibration that has ever existed and every vibration that will ever exist. It’s pure yoga – union. Just as white light contains all the colors of the spectrum, Om contains every sound in the vibrational spectrum – even those we can’t hear with our ears. The cover of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon represents this brilliantly as it shows the white light coming into a prism and all the colors of the spectrum coming out the other side. The same could be said for Om – it’s the white light of sound.
Historically, Om is first mentioned in the twelve verses of the ancient Vedic text the Mandukya Upanishads, which explains the three basic states of consciousness: waking, sleeping, and dreaming. In its original spelling and pronunciation, AUM (pronounced ahh-uhh-mmm) is a blending of those three states of consciousness into the one-ness of three distinct syllables: A, U, and M. These three vibrations also represent the three stages of life: birth, living, and death.
The vibration A (pronounced ahh, like the sound you make opening your mouth for the doctor) represents the waking state and the beginning of all things. The letter A is the first letter of most every alphabet, the first letter of the Rig Veda, the Koran, Homer’s Odyssey – even the New Testament! The vibration A heralds creation…the beginning. Vedic sages refer to it as the a-kara and it represents the realm of form and shape – the physical realm.
The vibration U (pronounced oo) is referred to as the u-kara and represents the dream state, the realm that is devoid of form or shape – the realms of air, water, fire, dreams – ever-changing aspects of the formless world around us.
The vibration M is known as the ma-kara, which represents the state of deep sleep – neither form or formless like the other two realms but beyond shape or shapelessness – the realm of consciousness in hibernation, waiting to unfold.
In Sanskrit grammar, when the letters A and U are combined in writing, they are translated as the letter O. That is why we so often see Om written instead of Aum. Over thousands of years, the writing of Aum has taken a back seat to Om, and that has led to Om being the sound that is most often chanted by both Western students and teachers of yoga, meditation, and Vedanta.
When the three individual vibrations are combined, a fourth vibration is created like a chord in music made up of individual notes. AUM (pronounced ahhh–uhhh–mmmm) represents the fourth state of consciousness – transcendent consciousness or turiya – what we call enlightenment or one-ness. In Vedanta, it’s the unity of the divine made up of its three components: creation; preservation; destruction (and rebirth). The chanting of this mantra heralds our universality, which is why we usually chant Om before and/or after meditation and yoga practice, and when we read sacred, ancient texts. By repeating a vibration or sound over and over, it will become part of your physiology; it will become your mind; it will become *you. * It will lose all meaning, all definition, and all relevance. There will be no separation between you and the vibration that is resonating right now.
Chanting Om (out loud or silently) is an ideal reminder of our universality.

Good morning Miss Faerie :). Im praying that you have a nice and blessed day!
What are your favorite Hymns? Mine is a fountain filled with blood :).
To give a quick story with it. I heard it the first time I went to a Presbyterian church. It sounded like it was from a western movie the way the pianist played it! But I reallyike the lyrics too :).
Good morning ☀️ you too!
Some of my favorite hymns are:
Holy Holy Holy
Before the Throne of God Above
Crown Him with Many Crowns
In this Rebel World
Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing
O Sacred Head Now Wounded
Hark the Herald Angels Sing
A Mighty Fortress is Our God
Be Still My Soul
O For A Thousand Tongues to Sing
This is My Father’s World
Rejoice The Lord is King
How Deep the Father’s Love for Us
O Holy Night
Be Thou My Vision
O Come O Come Emmanuel

Herald His Birth
We were discussing a Christmas hymn in our community group the other day. Many have studied the theology in the hymns before, but a few have not. A few days ago, I wrote about Joy to the World. Today, let’s look at the hymn “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.” The hymn’s stanzas declare the nature of God. It is also a poignant expression of our deep longing for Him. And, of course, the hymn expresses…

I almost forgot to post these--but I finally got Hymn and Kairi's field uniforms finished! These are the uniforms they'd wear on raids and such in the kingdom with Mack.
I'll include some notes and explanations for design choices below the cut, and add these to their muse pages when I get home from work 👍
All employees under Mackentire sport animal skull masks; the Fleshlings have horse skull masks (modified to have sharp canines for the intimidation factor), while the Labrats have rat skull masks. (These masks are obviously not taken from the animals of the same names, but custom made and fit to the head of the individual wearing it).
Anyone who does fieldwork with Mack is required to wear additional armor. All of the fleshlings have matching uniforms which include the following; a skull mask, and chest armor, pelvic armor, shoulder pauldrons, and gauntlets over the forearms and shins, all with a navy blue color scheme and orange accents.
However, 'elite' members are allowed to tweak and customize their fits, so long as there is adequate coverage to keep vital organs safe. They may also select their own animal for their skull mask to be modeled after.
Now that we've gotten all of tghat out of the way, let's get into Hymn and Kairi's individual uniforms!
Hymn Nikolaou, alias "The Siren"
Hymn has modified his uniform to be slightly more streamlined and lightweight to accommodate his fighting style, and possible combat in water. His bodysuit has mesh cutouts around his gills for easy breathing when under water. In addition to using his voice and bare hands for combat, his gauntlets have long blades attached for slashing attacks.
His mask is modeled off of the Dunkleosteus, an extinct genus of large arthrodire (jointed neck) fish that existed during the Late Devonian period. He chose this creature for it's reputation as one of the first marine apex predators, and stories told to him by his mother growing up of ancient sirens who hunted them and used their bones for armor and weapons.
Hymn is the only member who does not have any additional covering over his mouth.
Kairi M. Scott, alias "The Scarecrow".
Kairi modified her uniform to allow for more range of motion to accommodate her mixed martial arts style of fighting, which relies mostly on quick punches and powerful kicks. She wears additional wrapping and plating on her hands with bone protrusions below her knuckles, for extra protection when punching and for pin-point damage. She wears a belt with two harnesses attached; Around her waist are various mixtures and powders that she makes herself within the lab, with the following intentions; Green serum for health/quick healing, blue powder for paralysis, red serum for a temporary boost to all 'stats', and a purple powder for poison. On either thigh she has holsters for her handheld weapon of choice, two switchblade scythes.
Her mask is modeled off of a Jacob's sheep skull, a piebald and often polycerate (multi-horned) domestic breed. She chose this animal for it's unique horns, and a reclamation of being called 'the black sheep' of her family by her mother growing up. Despite the association with 'sheep' being 'followers' at the mercy of their shepherds, she sees herself less of a follower keeping her head down and doing as she is told and more of a wolf wearing a sheep's skin to protect the flock from within. This further plays into her choice of alias 'scarecrow', which was taken from the name of decoys made by farmers in the shape of a man and often stuffed with hay or straw to scare away birds and wildlife from their crops, thus watching over or 'protecting' the fields.
Kairi additionally wears a black hood over her bodysuit which attaches to her mask to hide her blonde hair, which could lead someone to discovering her true identity.

Bad Habits pt3 [male demon/male angel]
🛑18+ Content - Minors DNI🛑
Rating: Explicit🔥| Pairing(s): M/M | Warnings : ❤️ None
Contains: Age Difference, Cock Worship, Deep Throating, Marking, Oral Sex
Description: Hector is once more a natural at something he has no business being good at, and Adrian happily reaps the rewards.
Author’s Note: I promise there's a reason Hector is like this. Y'all are just gonna have to trust me for now lol.
Word Count: 503
[1][2][3]
This… This should have been demeaning. It should have. But for the life of him, Hector couldn’t remember why that was.
He couldn’t remember what was supposed to be demeaning about the way Adrian’s thighs trembled under his hands. Or the way his moans punched through his chest and gifted him a fresh surge of pleasure. As if the glide of the demon’s thick member over his tongue wasn’t enough to make his eyes roll back in bliss.
He wanted, needed, clawed hands petting his hair, laying over his head like a blessing, even as he could feel infernal heat burning dangerously close to his halo. The way they tightened and pulled irreverently when he tilted his head and took it down into his throat, inspiring the hymn of a stuttered indrawn breath.
Was it blasphemy that a demon spoke his name with the same awe with which the angel spoke of the Lord? Would he have cared if it was?
He would care later, he was sure, but that was later. Later, later, later. Just not now. Not now while he was drawn deeper into the demon’s grasp by the hypnotizing pattern of the veins of his manhood over the angel’s tongue. Drugged by the scent and the taste of sweat and sex and the fresh sting of bruises kissed onto his skin.
Yes, he needed it, but there was power in it too. A power he wasn’t sure he could be persuaded to give up now that he’d had a taste.
He was high on it whenever he pinned those hips to the bed, or as he did now with the way he wrapped his arms around the demon. He grabbed two generous handfuls of those muscular thighs and buttocks and used them to hold Adrian tight to him, at his mouth’s mercy as he bobbed, sucked, and swallowed.
Because he needed it. Demanded it like some petty pagan deity demanded tribute. And he would have it. He knew it by the way the demon’s moans grew only more breathless.
Adrian was a vocal partner, eager to make his pleasure known while in the act. They echoed through the angel’s dreams, memorized like prayers. Best were those that heralded the demon’s release.
The quiet grunts in his ear that always came with the fresh bloom of heat inside of him, or the cry that sounded ripped from him on the rare occasion the demon lay beneath him.
But like this, he was always so quiet when he came undone. Like he could never remember to breathe. And those, Hector firmly decided, were his favorite.
He would gasp and gape and the air would come back to him with an involuntary stutter while Hector savored and swallowed down every drop he gave. And he would pull back enough to taste the seed spilling over his tongue, even if it made his tongue burn the next time he took communion.
If he could, this would be the only communion he ever took again.

Ur-Hymn of the City of Monarchs
An arcane formspring, urged by thought
A four-faced holy there was wrought:
A giving River, mother’s milk
A hoarding moor, a father’s ilk
A virtue forest, deep, poorest.
A hero quartet in dire times
A bastard in the times besides
A mighty set of guards on high
A psychic thrill, an ancient try
A monument of fortune’s jest
An Eastern law, perfection’s crest
A hubris and a pseudo-death
A life renewed, yet rid of breath
A Southern goodness soars above
A Northern evil broods below
A Western mountain, court uncouth
A stellar fountain, endless youth
A lunar store of mad’ning night
A solar war of righteous light
A cosmic herald’s somnic cry:
“A quartic universe re’lized: a fabled fumble, child’s demise”

Hymn before Sun-rise in the Vale of Chamouni
Samuel Taylor Coleridge - he sent the concluding verses of this poem to Mrs Brabant of Devizes on its completion in 1815.
Hast thou a charm to stay the morning-star In his deep course? So long he seems to pause On thy bald awful head, O sovran Blanc! The Arve and Arveiron at thy base Rave ceaselessly; but thou, most awful Form! Risest from forth thy silent sea of pines, How silently! Around thee and above Deep is the air and dark, substantial, black, An ebon mass: methinks thou piercest it, As with a wedge! But when I look again, It is thine own calm home, thy crystal shrine, Thy habitation from eternity! O dread and silent Mount! I gazed upon thee, Till thou, still present to the bodily sense, Didst vanish from my thought: entranced in prayer I worshipped the Invisible alone.
Yet, like some sweet beguiling melody, So sweet, we know not we are listening to it, Thou, the meanwhile, wast blending with my Thought, Yea, with my Life and Life’s own secret joy: Till the dilating Soul, enrapt, transfused, Into the mighty vision passing—there As in her natural form, swelled vast to Heaven.
Awake, my soul! not only passive praise Thou owest! not alone these swelling tears,  Mute thanks and secret ecstasy! Awake, Voice of sweet song! Awake, my heart, awake! Green vales and icy cliffs, all join my Hymn.
Thou first and chief, sole sovereign of the Vale! O struggling with the darkness all the night,  And visited all night by troops of stars, Or when they climb the sky or when they sink: Companion of the morning-star at dawn, Thyself Earth’s rosy star, and of the dawn Co-herald: wake, O wake, and utter praise! Who sank thy sunless pillars deep in Earth? Who fill’d thy countenance with rosy light? Who made thee parent of perpetual streams?
And you, ye five wild torrents fiercely glad! Who called you forth from night and utter death, From dark and icy caverns called you forth, Down those precipitous, black, jagged rocks, For ever shattered and the same for ever? Who gave you your invulnerable life, Your strength, your speed, your fury, and your joy, Unceasing thunder and eternal foam? And who commanded (and the silence came), Here let the billows stiffen, and have rest?
Ye Ice-falls! ye that from the mountain’s brow Adown enormous ravines slope amain—  Torrents, methinks, that heard a mighty voice, And stopped at once amid their maddest plunge! Motionless torrents! silent cataracts! Who made you glorious as the gates of Heaven Beneath the keen full moon? Who bade the sun  Clothe you with rainbows? Who, with living flowers Of loveliest blue, spread garlands at your feet?— God! let the torrents, like a shout of nations, Answer! and let the ice-plains echo, God! God! sing ye meadow-streams with gladsome voice!  Ye pine-groves, with your soft and soul-like sounds! And they too have a voice, yon piles of snow, And in their perilous fall shall thunder, God!
Ye living flowers that skirt the eternal frost! Ye wild goats sporting round the eagle’s nest! Ye eagles, play-mates of the mountain-storm! Ye lightnings, the dread arrows of the clouds! Ye signs and wonders of the element! Utter forth God, and fill the hills with praise!
Thou too, hoar Mount! with thy sky-pointing peaks, Oft from whose feet the avalanche, unheard, Shoots downward, glittering through the pure serene Into the depth of clouds, that veil thy breast— Thou too again, stupendous Mountain! thou That as I raise my head, awhile bowed low  In adoration, upward from thy base Slow travelling with dim eyes suffused with tears, Solemnly seemest, like a vapoury cloud, To rise before me—Rise, O ever rise, Rise like a cloud of incense from the Earth!  Thou kingly Spirit throned among the hills, Thou dread ambassador from Earth to Heaven, Great Hierarch! tell thou the silent sky, And tell the stars, and tell yon rising sun, Earth, with her thousand voices, praises God.

My dreams are thick with my ancestors, Restless and wandering, They visit in my dreams, Speaking in whispering mystery, And I turn to You, O Goddess, Queen of the Dead, Who holds the Keys to Life and Death, Who gathers the Aoroi to Your side, Who guides those who seek Your wisdom, Hekate Aidonaia, Your company of Lampades Dancing in the darkness of my dreams, Casting light and shadow across my mind, Revealing secrets buried deep within. O Goddess, Companion to Persephone, Who lifts up the torches that light the path ahead, Whose hounds herald the sacred rites, Whose shining presence illuminates the dark, Hekate Pyrphoros. Your Sacred Fire illuminates All souls descend from you, All spirits ascend through you, For you span all realms. O Goddess, Kindly Goddess wielding the whip of the Erinyes, Who spurs action in Your children, Who speaks to us of the Power of Will. Who demands that we take charge of our Paths. Hekate Trioditis. At all boundaries and borders You stand, You transgress the limits of our meager insights, And enlighten the world with Your eternal grace.
For this, I offer my thanks. For You lift up my spirit. For Your gifts have been many in my life.
I serve at Your Will, bringing offerings of food, of incense, of creative force, and more. The years we have shared have been many and Your blessings plentiful.
May the years to come be likewise true to My Will and Yours, O Goddess, Unto Whom I have sworn my oaths, That my promise shine in the night as stars, And Your blessings be upon the world.
