Double Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
So many of y'all asked for the recipe for these sort of ridiculously good looking cookies so I figured I'd share with everyone! Links included for visual help!
Recipe Makes Approx. 24 Cookies Depending on Size

Ingredients:
1 Cup (2 sticks) Soft Butter
1 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
2 tsp Vanilla
1 Box (3.9 oz) Instant Chocolate Pudding
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp Cornstarch
2 Cups Flour
1/2 Cup Hershey's Dark Cocoa
As Many Chocolate Chips as You Want, Chocolate Chips are Measured With Our Soul, Not with Numbers
*Optional: teaspoon of vanilla yogurt or milk in case batter is too dry.
Directions:
Preheat Oven to 350 F.
-Tip! Use a Stand Mixer or Handheld Electric Mixer, Dough is Too Thick to Thoroughly Mix By Hand!
Cream Softened Butter and Brown Sugar in Mixing Bowl
Add Eggs
Add Vanilla
Add Chocolate Pudding and Blend until Smooth
In Separate Bowl, whisk together baking soda, corn starch, salt, flour and cocoa.
Add Dry Ingredients to Wet ingredients in Small Amounts (maybe half a cup at a time?) and Mix Well
-Tip! If Dough is Dry and Crumbly, Add in the Vanilla Yogurt or Milk!
Toss in As Many Chocolate Chips as Your Soul Desires
Baking:
I use the #40 Ice Cream Scoop to Portion Out Cookies on a Dark, Nonstick Cookie Sheet
Slightly Flatten Dough with Spoon or Bottom of Cup. Flatten More for Crunchier Cookies, Flatten Less for Fudgy, Brownie Like Cookies
Bake for 10-11 Minutes.
Let Rest on Wire Rack Until Cooled.
Eat All Of Them.

Jin Grandet
Made regular trips to the dentist on account of too many cavities. They became such close chums over the course of these visits to the point where Jin learned the dentist was going to become a grandpa before even the secretary knew. The dentist never scolds him too harshly. Why risk upsetting his best-paying patient? He usually just fills in the cavity and gives Jin a semi-stern finger wagging. Those were just his baby teeth, after all. Surely he’d learn to control his sugar intake by the time the adult ones grew in.
Listen, if anyone’s to blame, it’s Yves for making all those sweets so darn irresistible. Granted, Jin usually ends up eating more than his share, but he swears he only does it to keep his brothers from suffering the same terrible toothy fate as him. Ah, the lengths he goes to as the eldest…
But don’t worry, Jin makes it up to little Yves by helping him find new recipes to try. The two of them flip through cookbooks and watch cooking channels together (Jin’s favorite show is Cupcake Wars*), and Jin jots down the ingredients and steps for all the desserts Yves asks for. It’d be a heck of a lot easier to remember them all if the DVR memory wasn’t always full.
Jin is a master of diversions. Whenever the gang has to attend high-society parties or events and the younger ones inevitably get nervous or uncomfortable around the haughty socialites, Jin would swoop in and deploy his silver tongue to dazzle and diffuse the situation. Then he’d discreetly pull his brothers aside to someplace quiet (like a coat closet or an outdoor veranda), give them whatever candy he had in his pocket (be it lollipops or candy canes or gummy worms) and pat them on the back until they stopped crying. He’d stay hidden with them for the entire night if he needed to. 
His favorite place on Earth is Hershey Park, followed closely by the M&M’s Factory.
One year, Jin was gifted a stunning silver ring with a massive andradite garnet inset center stone for his birthday. He took one look at the gift, thought it was a ring pop, and swallowed it whole. He learned the hard way later that night that not all shiny rocks are candy.
But he was intrigued by the idea of birthstones, so he went out and bought a stone bead for each of his brothers: topaz for Chevalier, alexandrite for Clavis, peridot for Leon, sapphire for Yves, and two shades of opal for the twins. It pays to grow up rich. He wears them around his neck on a chain along with his garnet gem (after a thorough washing, of course) and never takes it off. 
Would never admit it aloud to his brothers, those six are already more than enough, but he secretly hoped to add an emerald to the collection so he could complete the rainbow.
Chevalier Michel
Can’t stand staying in the house when all his brothers are home, so he packs a bag full of books and high-protein energy bars and spends the day at the local library. Most people stop and stare at the little boy walking across town and crossing the busy streets on his own, but with just one stern over-the-shoulder look the people flinch and continue on their merry way. He’ll be fine, he looks like he knows where he’s going.
There are multiple libraries around the area, but he usually visits the one farthest away on the outskirts of town. It is an old, dilapidated shack of a building, run by a doddery librarian who looks even more ancient than the place itself. But it hosts a modest collection of classic and modern titles, has charming vintage armchairs you could just melt into, and, most importantly, is free of shrill little brothers. One would think the first place to find Chevalier would be in a library, but the challenge lies in which one.
The first time Chevalier visited the place he thought the librarian had died at the counter. But four hours into his reading session, a massive sneeze echoed through the dingy racks that shook him to his core. Chevalier grabbed his bag and flew out the door before the now-moving librarian could ask if he wanted to apply for a library card. But he returned the following week, standing on his tippy-toes to reach the top of the counter, and politely apologized and requested a library card. 
This probably doesn’t even need to be said at this point, but Chevalier isn’t a big TV fan. “Television rots the brain,” he’d said when Clavis and Leon asked if he wanted to watch superhero shows with them. But there are a select few programs he doesn't mind watching, particularly educational ones like science shows and historical documentaries and brainy quiz games.
But his brothers usually hogged the TV all day with their baby shows and cartoons, so he kept a copy of the TV guide hidden in his room and always set the DVR to record the shows he didn’t want to miss. Then he’d wake up in the middle of the night, quietly sneak into the family room to watch his lineup, then slip back into bed at dawn. It’s a good excuse to sleep through the hubbub of the morning cartoons, that’s for sure.
But one night he fell asleep on the couch watching a particularly dull documentary on the history of haberdasheries and woke up the next morning to the sun burning his eyelids, Season 27 of Jeopardy!* on screen, and Clavis and Leon bouncing on the cushions laughing and taunting him. Chevalier whacked them off the couch with a pillow, shut off the TV, and headed for the library. 
As a prank, Clavis signed Chevalier up for the Jeopardy! Kids Tournament, but it came to none of the brothers’ surprise that he absolutely swept the competition. He then proceeded to dominate the Teen Tournament a few months later despite not meeting the minimum age requirement to enter. The only category he flubbed on was “Saturday Morning Cartoons”, and since then he’s made occasional appearances in the family room to watch with the others. 
Chevalier donated the prize money to the rickety old library. It already paid to grow up rich.
Clavis Lelouch
He pours the milk before the cereal (and that’s a fact)
He dressed as a mad scientist for Halloween one year and turned it into his entire personality. He’d wear the lab coat and rubber gloves and goggles everyday and everywhere. He wanted to wear the crazy wig that came with the costume too, but it made Yves cry so he resolved to just ruffling up his hair to be extra floofy in the morning.
But a mad scientist needs a base of operations to conduct his experiments. So he chased Licht and Nokto and their snack stash out of the treehouse and set up the “Lelouch Laboratory”. Flashing lights and freaky sounds and funky smells often emanated from the lab well into the late hours of the night.
But a mad scientist needs materials to set up and test his experiments. Luckily, Clavis is never wont for supplies as he treats all objects with potential to be studied. From freshly cut blades of grass to his Science teacher’s car keys to Chevalier’s barf-inducing energy bars, anything and everything had the potential to astound and amaze with just a “What if?” and a spark of imagination. And it didn’t hurt that he could always swipe his father’s credit card if there ever came the opportunity to acquire a particularly fascinating material online. It pays to grow up rich.
But a mad scientist needs test subjects to run his experiments on. His brothers were too clever to fall for his pleas for help, so Clavis resolved to luring the neighborhood kids into his den with promises of Yves’s sweets in exchange for their assistance. It wasn’t uncommon to hear panicked shrieks or see children fleeing in terror from the backyard.
The final experiment run at the Lelouch Laboratory happened on what started out as a calm spring’s day. Clavis had just received a bottle of fluoroantimonic acid in the mail (don’t ask where he bought it from) and was dying to test it out on his oddball collection of knickknacks. But safety is the number one priority at the Lelouch Laboratory, so he needed to find a fearless assistant with a strong will to keep a sharp eye on the trials and make sure nothing “unexpected” happened. The little redheaded boy he found napping under the seesaw at the park was perfect.
Everything was set up according to plan. He’d laid his assortment of solvents out on the floor of the treehouse, triple checked to make sure his goggles and gloves were on properly, and flashed the little boy wobbling in the corner a thumbs up to begin. But before Clavis could insert the dropper into the bottle of acid, the sleepy boy closed his green eyes and fell facedown on the testing zone. The bottle tipped over and the fluoroantimonic acid spilled out, running along the floor and rapidly eating away at the wood until eventually the entire treehouse caved in and collapsed. Luckily, the two made it out mostly unscathed, but Clavis has since been forced to shut down his operations and hang up his lab coat until he could acquire a hazardous chemical license. Jin pulled the two out of the rubble, offered them honey buns to calm them down, then walked the boy with the garnet hair and emerald eyes back home.

Best Autumnal Recipes:
No Bake Spiderweb Cheesecake: Absolutely gorgeous and showstopping delicious with relatively low effort, this one has rather quickly entered my teatime repertoire any year I can find the time to make it! (For the wafers themselves, I'd recommend these, and the spiders can be made relatively easily by melting Rolos on top of a pretzel for about ten seconds, flattening them with the back of a spoon, and adding mini M&M "eyes" and legs from broken pretzels.)
Witch Hat Cookies: As far as cute, easy fixes go, I have a particular love for fudge stripe cookies (or the store brand equivalent) with the chocolate side facing up, topped with a thin ring of purple icing around the center and an unwrapped Hershey's kiss (with another band of purple icing to form the hatband). I'd call them zuckerhutchien but my first-generation German mother would burn me as a witch on the spot, so instead I just refer to them as spooky book club treats.
Gingersnaps: Also an absolute classic; this recipe in particular has been the cause of much appreciation from various friends and professors
Chai Spiced Maple Cookies With Browned Butter Frosting: Definitely a mouthful there, but these remain a favorite for Hobbit Day and the rest of the pumpkin spice season!
Mini Pumpkin Cake: Ach! This is one of the top recipes on my to-do list. It looks absolutely delicious and the absolute perfect size for a small pumpkin spice treat...on that note, please let me know if you've found a vegetarian equivalent to candy corn pumpkins!
Hahaha YES: Candy Corn Pumpkins
Soft Molasses Cookies With Pumpkin Cream Filling: This is more of a transitional treat, but still a nice one irregardless. Personally, I'd recommend baking the cookies a little longer, so you get just enough of a crisp finish on the edge to compliment the cream cheese filling.
Brown Butter Maple Pecan Cookies: I haven't tried these yet either, but some baking communities have been going wild about them, and you really can never go wrong with either browned butter or a nice turtle flavor palette.
Baked Pumpkin Donuts: Skeptical, you may be! "Who bakes a donut?" you'll say! The answer: me. I used to work in a bakery that specialized in donuts and had a pretty good selection of baked (as well as fried) donuts, and the pumpkin is perfect for providing that soft cake-y moisture content. (The batter uses the same recipe as a similar pumpkin cream cheese muffin, and while I can't speak for the author's, pumpkin muffins are quickly getting me through the busiest season in coffeeshops, bakeries, and academics alike.)
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread: What's better than banana bread? Pumpkin bread, of course!! This recipe, with the exception of maybe the chocolate chips (depending on brand, although chopped vegan chocolate bars usually work well) is entirely vegan, not to mention a pretty quick stress-bake to boot.
Pumpkin Scones (Starbucks Copycat): Once again, I'll be honest: I have not tried these, albeit these vanilla bean scones have been a popular favorite and we, as a barista at a local coffeeshop, have a legal obligation to one-up Starbucks at any given point. Definitely a must for the next cup of tea!
Caramel Apple Cheesecake Bars: Between Rosh Hashannah and Halloween, we've got to have one obligatory Halloween dessert with some type of caramel apple base!

Barbra Streisand’s long-awaited memoir “My Name is Barbra” is simply delicious. 
Figuratively, it’s delicious in the sense that the Jewish icon shares juicy anecdotes from her storied life and career, like behind-the-scenes drama with Mandy Patinkin while filming “Yentl.” It’s also literally delicious because Barbra, a woman after our own hearts, talks a great deal about Jewish food.
In the early chapters of the book, “Pulaski Street,” “Why Couldn’t I Play the Part?” and “This Night Could Change My Life,” she mentions her grandmother’s beloved Hanukkah cinnamon cookies. (Drop the recipe, Babs!) She kvetches over the disgusting potatoes, which she surmises likely came from a can, and kvells about the rich kosher cake for Shabbat at Bais Yaakov Jewish summer camp in the Catskills. She recalls the gorgeous Charlotte Russe cake at Schenley’s Jewish bakery and the freshness of the bagels and lox complemented by sour green tomato slices at Besterman’s Jewish appetizing store. 
But Barbra actually has a few Jewish food thoughts that are pretty controversial.
First: Barbra Streisand doesn’t like Jewish delis! In an anecdote about her life before stardom, Babs writes, “I also liked going to the deli. Not the Jewish delis. They gave you too much meat. I couldn’t get my mouth around those sandwiches.”
She goes on, “I would go to the Gentile ones and order my favorite… a roast pork sandwich with mayonnaise on soft white bread. Delicious.”
Delicious? As a Jew, everything about that sentence is so utterly wrong. 
Her second Jewish food hot take: Barbra Streisand thinks Hershey’s syrup tastes better in egg creams than Fox’s U-Bet.
When describing the food memories of her childhood, Babs talks about an Italian candy store that served Coke and egg creams. “I don’t know why they’re called egg creams. There’s no egg in them, only milk and chocolate syrup, Fox’s U-Bet chocolate syrup, and seltzer,” she writes.
(Well, Babs, there’s no consensus on how the name egg cream came about. But there are a few theories you can read about here.)
In the audiobook version of the memoir, she continues, “Recently I tried to recreate one and before I could find U-Bet I used Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Which turns out to be even better.”
With all due respect… oof. Both the slander (I kid) against Jewish delis and the preference of Hershey’s chocolate syrup over U-Bet are fighting words, Babs. But, considering how much good Barbra Streisand has done for the Jewish community, I think I can let it slide.

I've had a very rude accusation aimed at my old facebook. I have provided photos of the recipe in question from my copy of the book as well as the identifying grease mark near 'nilla' which marks it as uniquely my copy.
She obviously didn't look at my post as I clearly credit Hershey's and with the correct date to boot. Sharing these recipes used to be fun but I'm not cut out for the darker side of things. In all the years here with all you wonderful friends I have been blessed without a single negative comment, but friends, this one hurts.

My go-to brownie recipe is adapted from Betty Crocker's Cooky Book but using the Alton Brown baking method (I find his recipe a bit too fudgy)
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa (I like Hershey's Special Dark)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
(1/2 teaspoon espresso powder, if you want)
Optional 1/2 cup nuts or chocolate chips
Mix wet ingredients, then slowly add dry ingredients. If adding nuts or other extras, fold them in last. Use a greased square pan - adding parchment paper will allow you to lift them out to slice them easier.
Bake at 300 degrees for 15 minutes, remove and let rest for 15 minutes, then return to oven to bake another 30 minutes or until internal temperature of 195 degrees.
Let cool 5-10 minutes before slicing.

I do!! I love making cookies, in particular. I have a collection of recipes that were my grandmother's that I make every year along with the Pillsbury Peanut Butter Blossoms (the ones with the Hershey kisses). I'll have to share pictures when I get started baking!

7. Favorite Board Game! I'm actually not much into board games to be honest, but out of them, I enjoy Scrabble, Battleship, and Jenga (yes I know it's not a board game :P )
18. A Book Series to Escape In! I love rereading His Dark Materials. I loved it when I was younger. I knew my Christian grandparents wouldn't get it for me, so I asked my Buddhist grandmother, and she came through ;) I've also read La Belle Sauvage, but not The Secret Commonwealth. The idea of daemons has always fascinated me.
29. A Favourite Easy Recipe! I enjoy making beer bread (I use the Dylan Hollis recipe) - my partner enjoys beer, so whenever he gets some, he puts a bottle aside for bread. He loves the Hershey Yuengling bread, which goes super well with Nutella - but my favorite is the Leinenkugel Berry Weiss with raspberry jam! I also tend to default to homemade chicken tenders when we're stuck on dinner.

favorite food of all time? ever? like what's the dish you still dream about sometimes kinda good?
This very specific chocolate cake recipe called Deep Dark Chocolate Cake from a Hershey's cookbook, you can find it online tho, paired with a frosting made from roughly one part sour cream and one part melted chocolate whipped together. It's perfect and tangy and pairs with the cake so well. And it's all even better if you put chocolate pudding or chocolate mousse (or both) between the layers. It's the only flavor cake I ever want for my birthday and it's the only one I've had since I was 5/6/7 years old and first found the recipe in one of our cookbooks. I love this cake so much I still remember it was on page 21 of the cookbook despite not having used that book in years.

For Halloween this year, our neighbors gave Mars half a fucking pound of hershey's mini milk chocolate bars.
Like, who fucking eats these besides on s'mores.
Seriously, what the fuck.
So, dug through all my baking books to see if any used milk chocolate for something and found a handful. Since they were Mars' candy, I let her pick. She, of course, picked the recipe that has an insane amount of chocolate involved.
So, in a couple weeks (after Thanksgiving leftovers have been cleaned out and I have the fridge space again) I'm making a boozy chocolate cake with a boozy chocolate mousse with a boozy chocolate sauce and sweet and spicy nuts.
Yeah, it uses three different types of booze (chocolate cream liqueur, Irish whisky, and dark rum) and each item (with the exception of the nuts) has at least 3 tablespoons of some combination of alcohol above. But I had the most chocolate things listed so it's the one Mars chose. XD
For anyone wondering, the author calls this the heartless bastard break-up cake and the servings are: 6 to 8 (on a good day) / 1 (on a bad day)
Anyway, very excited. My foot has kept me from doing a lot of shit but I think the thing I've missed most is baking.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
Well it’s already February 14…can you even believe it? I’ve been working on this post for several days now but life has been busy so it’s taken a while! It’s one of several posts I’ll be adding today (I finally found a block of time to work) and I hope you enjoy!
This post is filled with things I’ve discovered recently…jewelry, food, fashion and so much more! I love sharing my discoveries so consider this post my Valentine to all of you!
I recently did a collaboration with Lois Hill Jewelry and fell in love with their beautiful designs! This jewelry is meticulously made mostly from sterling silver and the pieces are all handmade! Be sure to visit the website to see the whole collection!
Food
Why not make a charcuterie board for Valentine’s Day! Pair it with a glass of Champagne and you’ve got a match made in heaven! I made this delicious fabulous board on an olive wood heart shaped board from Williams Sonoma! I love to have a collection of boards and platters so my creations can have different looks!
Salmon is one of my favorite foods and I seriously think I could eat it every night! When I saw this recipe for Honey Mustard Roasted Salmon with Caesar Roasted Potatoes from Half Baked Harvest, I immediately put it on my list to try!
Fashion
These Nike sneakers are my new favorites! They’re canvas and I just love the color!
Decor
I don’t go crazy with the Valentine’s Day decorations, but a bowl of Hershey kisses is the perfect touch!
Tropical Vacay
After being in Miami during January, I’m so ready for another beachy, warm getaway and this swimsuit and coverup are perfect for lounging by the pool or sitting by the ocean! Doesn’t that sound amazing?
Romantic Movies
Baldy and I celebrated Valentine’s Day night before last because he’ll be out of town tomorrow. I decided to stay home to be close to my mom who isn’t doing well right now. I still want to have some kind of little celebration tomorrow evening so I’ll go and visit my grandsons and then come home and watch a movie and maybe drink a glass of Champagne. I searched for the best classic romance movies ( some old and some not so old) and this is what I came up with…I love them all and they are all quite different! Which one is your favorite!

STEVEN SALERNO has illustrated 37 picture books for major publishers -with 5 of these titles being both the author & illustrator: Little Tumbo (Marshall Cavendish Children’s Books), Coco the Carrot (Marshall Cavendish Children’s Books), Harry Hungry (Harcourt Children’s Books), Wild Child (Abrams Books for Young Readers), and his most recent author/illustrator title is Tim’s Goodbye (Farrar Straus Giroux 2018).
Steven Salerno lives and works in Manhattan (NYC) and is a graduate of Parsons School of Design. (Note: while a student at Parsons his instructor for a year long picture book illustration course was the famed author/illustrator Maurice Sendak, creator of Where the Wild Things Are.) Over Steven’s long freelance illustration career, in addition to the 37 picture books he has illustrated thus far, he also creates illustrations for magazines, newspapers, print & web advertising, publishing, packaging, and retail graphics.

In December 2022 Steven’s most recent illustrated picture book will be released, On the Corner of Chocolate Avenue -How Milton Hershey Brought Milk Chocolate to America (nonfiction) written by Tziporah Cohen and illustrated by Steven Salerno, published by Clarion Books/Harper Collins. The true story of the poor kid from Pennsylvania, Milton Hershey, who first introduced his innovative HERSHEY’S milk chocolate candy bar back in 1905 -and went on to create his massive chocolate empire, becoming one of the largest chocolate candy producers in the world.
During the past couple years Steven Salerno has been busy working on a very special picture book project for VIKING -an imprint of Penguin Random House. In 2019 the publisher had asked Steven if he would illustrate 5 new MADELINE picture books that are being written by John Marciano Bemelmans, the grandson of famed Ludwig Bemelmans (b.1896 - d.1962) who was the author/illustrator creator of the five original classic MADELINE picture books which were released from 1939 through 1961. Yes, THAT Madeline! The brave little girl in the yellow hat living in a Paris boarding school along with eleven other young girls, all under the watchful gaze of the towering Miss Clavel. This special project request meant that Steven would be required to create the illustrations for these 5 new MADELINE picture books in the recognizable drawing stye of Ludwig Bemelmans! Thus far Steven has competed the final illustrations for the first 4 titles in this 5 book series:
1) Love from Madeline (this book was released in January 2022)
2) Madeline’s ABCs (this book was released in June 2022)
3) Madeline’s 123s (this book will be released in November 2022)
4) Madeline’s SEASONS (this book will be released in Spring 2023)
5) the 5th picture book in the series is still in development.
AWARD NEWS
In 2019 The Crayon Man -The True Story of the Invention of Crayola Crayons (nonfiction) written by Natascha Biebow & illustrated by Steven Salerno was released by publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. It’s the story of Edwin Binney, who loved color, but his chemical manufacturing company in the late 1800’s only produced black ink, black crayons, black powder, and black dyes… until the day in 1903 when Edwin finally came up with just the right recipe for making color crayons especially for school children, which he and his wife named CRAYOLA CRAYONS… This wonderful picture book not only was a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection, but in 2020 it also won the prestigious Irma Black Award for Excellence in Children’s Literature, voted for by children all around the world.

History with a Hershey … Twist.
If it’s one thing I love about history, it’s twists of fate and the story of Milton Hershey, founder of Hershey’s chocolate, has one of my favorites.
Milton S. Hershey did not start off in chocolate, as chocolate was considered a luxury back in the late 1800s. He actually got his start in confections with the founding of Lancaster Caramel Company in 1886. Using a caramel recipe obtained through previous candy-making experience and fresh milk, Hershey became a pioneer in the confectioner’s industry. Hershey soon discovered that the candies sold better in bulk and began to sell internationally, earning him enough to pay off his debt and buy more ingredients and equipment for Lancaster’s Candy. In the early 1890s, Lancaster Candy company has grown immensely. Around this time Hershey had taken a trip to Chicago to visit The Chicago World’s Fair… a trip that would pique his interest in chocolate. After much pondering, Hershey went all in and sold The Lancaster Candy Company for $1 million dollars to start his own chocolate company… Hershey’s chocolates.

Hershey founded the legendary chocolate company in 1900, producing the very first milk chocolate bars for the company. The popular Hershey Kisses followed in 1907 and Hershey Bar with almonds in 1908. Hershey would go on to build the world’s largest chocolatier company, his own town of Hershey, Pennsylvania and have a theme park in his namesake.
But what’s the twist you must be asking ? Well I’ll tell you … it happened in the year 1912.

In 1912 Hershey and his wife Kitty were in Europe on business. The Hershey’s were set to leave Europe on April 10, 1912, but due to an unforeseen business conflict, they had to remain in Europe a little longer than expected. This is where the story gets interesting. The Hershey’s were set to leave Europe by ocean liner… but not just any ocean liner… they were set to aboard first-class on the RMS Titanic, the European ocean liner that infamously sunk after colliding with an iceberg on April 15, 1912. The Hershey’s ended up booking passage on a German ocean liner SS Amerika and made it safely to New York.
Just think, if it weren’t for a business matter, Hershey’s chocolates may not be what it is today. And it does make one also wonder, what legacies were actually extinguished when the Titanic went under?
