I don’t really ship 87 Ramona (although I do love the idea of them in a QPR) but. If they did feel romantically for each other it would take forever for them to actually get together, if they even do, in sharp contrast to the 2012 “we’ve known each other two hours now we’re committed for life” speedrun. Raphael would have fallen in love years ago but would not recognise this fact once. Mona Lisa is also part of the problem. She has a layer of superficiality she always uses as protection over her true feelings, so how does she even know her flirting is sincere? How would Raphael be supposed to know? She’d overthink it. Also she’s a lesbian so falling in love with your best friend is like mandated and agonising. She’d have accepted her fate and already resigned herself that it’s never going to happen. She’s just happy they’re close to each other. Meanwhile Raphael thinks “huh, I want to marry her” then goes about his day. This realisation occurs multiple times but he never reads into it.

he went looking for you, since you didn't show up at the usual time, and traced your scent to the pharmacy on the outskirts of Liyue. by a sheer stroke of luck one of the windows to your room was left open, and when he sees you asleep on the bed he instinctively yelps and slips into the room. he's almost glad you're not awake, since the sight of Foul Legacy looming over you might've frightened you- but perhaps not, since you never seem to find him scary or intimidating. what was it you called him?

he hates the sight of you looking so weak, body covered with bandages- what were you thinking, going somewhere you could get this injured?? you didn't even have a Vision- you're just an ordinary mortal, so fragile and powerless at the hands of Teyvat, and Foul Legacy's claws gently cup your face as he whines softly. he fusses with your covers, picking and readjusting them until you're engulfed in snowy white sheets- it's not good enough, he'd rather you be in his arms, but he knows moving you could be dangerous right now so he settles for this

until you let out a cough, and he panics, scooping you into his hold with a swift movement and cradling you against his chest. quiet whimpers and coos fill the room as he holds you delicately, treating you like glass as your face scrunches and you shift, looking blearily up at a very worried Foul Legacy. he's torn between crying and huffing in exasperation when you slowly smile, sleep still heavy in your eyes, and reach your (INJURED!!!!) hands up to his face. when your fingers brush his cheek, he melts into your touch, relief blooming in his chest, and hoarsely you mumble that you love him, so, so much

his mouth falls open as you snuggle against his fluff like you didn't say anything out of the ordinary, the astonished nudges and pokes he gives you only drawing out sleepy hums. Foul Legacy sighs and returns to holding you, talons running over your hair. you must be delirious, that's all, something said through a haze of painkillers and exhaustion

and yet, hope still fills his heart when he remembers the sincerity in your eyes. maybe, just maybe, you really do love him after all
