- Stammers around you a lot. He’s usually well-spoken, but the moment you walk in, he forgets half his vocabulary.

- Practices conversations with you in his head or with Athena (if she ever decides to help) before actually talking to you. Still messes them up.

- Starts using big poetic metaphors to describe you..

“like a lighthouse in a storm”

—and then internally cringes because he thinks he sounds dumb.

- Always pulls out a chair for you or offers to carry things EVEN if it's just a piece of paper—

“I can take that, no problem!”

- Gets super defensive if anyone tries to talk bad about you, especially when it's from the suitors. Even if he’s shy, he’ll stand up for you without hesitation.

- If you’re sad, he doesn’t always know what to say, but he’ll sit with you quietly until you’re ready to talk.

- Sneaks glances at you when he thinks you’re not looking—and gets caught every time. But sometimes, you pretend that you don't see it.

- Whenever he blushes, his ears turn red. Not even his whole face, just the tips of his ears.

- Starts showing off when you’re nearby. Lifting something heavy? Sword training? Suddenly he’s way more into it when you’re watching.

“Man, Athena, this is too easy!”

But inside, he felt like his arms were about to fall off.

- Brags about your skills and talents to others, and talks about you so so much to his mom—“Did you see what they did today? That was incredible!”

- If someone mentions you even casually, he perks up like a golden retriever hearing a treat bag rustle. He'd literally cross seas for you without thinking twice—just like his dad, but 100x softer.

- He has a secret stash of unsent letters or poems he’s written for you. Which range from thoughtful to “I like your hair today” and “you laughed at my joke. highlight of my year.”

- One day he accidentally leaves one somewhere you’ll find it… and you’ll definitely notice the tiny heart he doodled in the corner.

PRIDE ONESHOTS PT.1

(RAHH im so excited! Can’t wait to do all these asks, however you will have to be patient with me as it’s summer so you know damn well im going on adventures and getting tanned so if i dont post daily im very sorry! But I will make sure to complete all the asks within June!)

(Also, I’ve actually set this after the musical as I feel like it would be easier to set this with pre established prusty… and because i want angst and for them to kiss mwahaha)

The yard was quieter than usual tonight.

Not silent, there would always be the random groans and grunts from trains and sheds alike; but the sounds were almost softer. It was like the world had lowered its voice, giving Pearl the space to be consumed by her thoughts.

She sat on the edge of some crates for who knows what, with her knees tucked under her chin. Her pastel pink paint now a dull muggy colour in the dark, barely illuminated by the yellow lights. Pearl chewed on her nails, restless, not even minding the nail polish chips falling onto her uniform. Her lashes were clumped together, smudges of mascara smeared on her face from drying tears.

It was a stupid thing to cry about.

It was just supposed to be a cosy date with her and Rusty, a relaxing movie night to celebrate getting through the dreadful week at work. At first that’s all it was, Pearl and Rusty cuddled under the blanket with some silly Rom Com on. Then cuddles turned into kisses and kisses turned into Rusty’s hand brushing against the inside of Pearl’s thigh. Her reaction was in seconds, Pearl’s whole body stiffened and her mouth went lax. Rusty probably didn’t mean anything by it, after all, it’s the natural progression after making out…

But it was close, way too close to Pearl’s secret.

And of course, Rusty the attentive, loving boyfriend he is noticed immediately. Even after assuring him she was fine, he continued to apologise up until they went to bed. Or well, he went to bed, Pearl couldn’t sleep. Not after that adrenaline spike anyways. So now she was here, crying, alone and ashamed of not being able to communicate to her boyfriend, while sitting on some dusty boxes. Great.

By the miracle of the Starlight however, Rusty soon saddled up next to her. “You alright, Babe?” He probed softly, giving Pearl enough space to leave if she wished.

“I thought you were asleep?”

“I was, but the bed gets lonely without you.”

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to-”

Rusty interrupted her before she could even finish, “You don’t need to be sorry for anything, you’re allowed to have as much space as you want.” Even in her sorrowful state she smiled, god she really did love him. After a while Pearl, finally broke the silence.

“I’ve just been thinking a lot.”

Rusty gently brushed his hand against hers, “Dangerous habit.”

Pearl laughed through her nose. “Yeah.”

Then she inhaled deep and slow, holding the breath in as if that would slow time itself. “I need to tell you something.”

Rusty immediately turned serious but soft, his eyes squinted with worry and sincerity. “Whatever it is, I’m right here.”

“I’ve been keeping something from you,” Pearl finally revealed, rubbing her clammy hands together. “Not just from you, exactly but from everyone.”

Without hesitation Rusty took her hands in his, squeezing as a sign of reassurance.

“I’m a girl. I’ve always been, Even when I didn’t have the words to tell people, or when I thought I was broken and confused.”

Rusty’s eyes widened slightly, not in shock, but in hope and love. “Pearl are you-” Pearl had to cut him off, she knew if she didn’t, she wouldn’t be able to finish her story off.

“I wasn’t always known as Pearl and it took a lot of work to get here, but now i’ve told you. I-I hope you understand that I have in my soul always been Pearl and that will never change, not even now.”

There was a small smile on Rusty’s face, it wasn’t sympathetic but happy.

“Please say something,” Pearl begged softly.

“I understand you.” Was all Rusty said in response and without meaning to Pearl raised her eyebrow in suspicion. As much as she adored Rusty, what would he actually know about being made in the wrong body?

“I’m a guy, but I wasn’t always seen that way either,” he whispered.

“What do you mean?” She asked baffled, he wasn’t seen as a guy? Does he mean when Greaseball use to bully him?

“Pearl,” Rusty said deadpan. “Think about what you’ve just said and then think about what i’ve just said and how they correlate.”

Rusty knew the moment she hit the jackpot because, “Oh my Starlight! You meant you’re-you’re-”

“Yeah. Took me awhile to figure it out. Longer to say it out loud. But I knew something was wrong when nothing was fitting, until I got called Rusty. From then on i’ve always been me, just Rusty.”

Pearl’s shock turned into laughter, bright and disbelieving. “We’ve both been holding this in?”

“Guess I was waiting for the right moment,” he murmured sheepishly.

The relief emanated around them, as if their relationship got even stronger. “Thank you for understanding,” Pearl commented.

“Always,” he said. “You’re still the same Pearl i’ve always known, just more you.”

She beamed, “And you’re the same Rusty, just more you too.”

He groaned getting up, holding his calloused palm out to her. “Wanna take a lap together? Just you and me?”

Pearl nodded, a soft smile on her face, “Yeah, i’d like that.”

As the lapped around the track together, Pearl couldn’t have been happier to be around her amazing boyfriend, her heart felt lighter already.

sweats usually i don't post art but uhhh i like this one so :3 !!! i finally made a cookie run s/i !! yippee !! read more for my ramblings 🫡

rahh okay so i made him to ship with Pitaya cookie initially n a lot of his lore is based around them but i've already made an AU where he is shipped with RM soooo (also all this stuff may not really be accurate to the lore, idc, i'm just playing dolls)

so Bluebell was originally good friends with Pitaya n they were really close up until Bluebell started taking an interest in cookie kind. it was labeled as a sort of pity at first but soon turned into more of an infatuation, seeing them on the same level as him in some ways. this caused issues because Bluebell was already more of a docile dragon n now when Pitaya wanted to go terrorizing cookie kind, Bluebell was hesitant. he joined in for a bit just because he didn't want to lose Pitaya with being so close to them but eventually he couldn't take it n had to stop. this caused a bit of an argument which caused Bluebell to fly away and transform into a cookie himself, hiding all his dragon like features.

so now he runs a flower shop bc he has nature/flower based powers :3 !! years later, this shop is where he meets both RM for the first time + Pitaya cookie again yippee ♡♡

I also loved your smog&spirits series!!! I love me a dangerous Bucky who is soft for only her. You portrayed him fantastically! You created that world so smoothly, it feels so real. Like I am living it. I'm obsessed. Honestly, I am not a fan of reading smut but I believe I will give your other fics a read as well because I am just so obsessed with your writing style.

firstly, i am the one in love with YOU! me & the devil was the one shot that really made me fall in love with writing again, whenever i hear someone has read and enjoyed i am so so happy. and also the fact you're interested in the daughter of the rotsál?!? RAHH???? that fic has been cooking for months now and let me say i am sooo excited for when it's ready to post. smog and spirits will be wrapping up soon (i'm estimating maybe 3 more chapters), there has been a lot of love for that series, which i appreciate so much! that fic started as a one-shot, the only reason it became a series and became what it is now is because of the encouragement of amazing people like you :)

now i'm gonna be cheeky and recommend some of my fics i think you should read next since you are interested!!

a dish served cold - if you enjoyed me & the devil, you'll likely enjoy this series! it's a western au mini-series (around 30k words), has sexual themes but doesn't include smut and is COMPLETE! this series is truly my baby. it didn't pick up much of an audience but it's one of my favourites to this day. i have long term plans to write a second part to it, but i'm focusing on finishing some other projects first.

BITTER - this one is kinda angsty, doesn't include smut but there is illusions to it. it's a quick little modern au one-shot, mostly focusing on bucky being a troubled, grieving ex-solider. if you liked the angst in me & the devil, i feel like this is a similar level but less violence and more the aftermath.

sweetpea - this one is very fluffy, very cute. there is some smut but the majority of it is just a cute and kinda humorous developing relationship between the reader and bucky. it's a pretty quick one-shot read

his girls - you might've already read this but if you're looking for fluff, no smut and alpine content this is the one!

lessons in lovemaking - this is a hesitant suggestion, there is a fair bit of smut in this series but it's pretty tame and sweet. maybe read the first part and see if you like it? it's very angsty, focusing on bucky dealing with his trauma. the reader is an ex-widow
